#89668 I have a fear that the Wii U won't get great third party support

Posted by eugoreez on 24 June 2012 - 05:32 AM in Wii U Hardware

That defeats half the purpose of the Pro controller. If a company doesn't want to use any features of the GamePad, then just use the Pro.

yea kinda.. in my point of view, the pro controller is for the ppl mother whine about the "uncomfortibility" of the wii u game pad, if there is any..

it is an option to the consumer rather than the developer.. the lazy developer could just say "you can use the pro controller or the gamepad, it'll still be the same experience"

#89662 MMO Games on the Wii U

Posted by eugoreez on 24 June 2012 - 04:51 AM in Wii U Games and Software

thats not an excuse!! u can buy keybord for 4$ and a mouse for 10$.. Or differently, dont buy this games...

console is meant to play on the living room or your room... attach to a tv.. with you sitting on the couch... there is no point in building a console if you have to set it up like a pc lol

#89642 Epic uses for the Wii U gamepad! (mockups and concepts)

trading card games is pretty cool... if combined with the nfc functions.. it'll be a lot better.. you know, buy actual cards, scan on the nfc.. there you go :D

here is another one.. Fifa or any football games on the wii u.. imagine that you can change players and tactics on the fly using the screen, without having to pause the game.. I think this is a huge plus especially with in an offline multiplayer game with your friends....

i would do an image for this.. but i suck at image editing.. it'll take years.. lol

I think there is no problem. Wii U will get good third-party support.

1. The pro controller. Too lazy to make a good use of the gamepad? No problem.
2. The power. XBOX 720 is rumored to be not too far away in power so mulitplatform games will be made on the wii u and ported to the others. Since then they don't have to downscale.
3. Finally a good online.

actually.. if developers is really lazy to put some creativity on the screen.. just turn it off or something.. the game pad itself have enough buttons... so it is a plus for multi plat games i guess...

it's fascinating that people can talk about comfortable without even holding it...

#89140 Crytek: Wii U is 'minimum as powerful as Xbox 360'

Posted by eugoreez on 21 June 2012 - 03:46 AM in Wii U Hardware

OK thanks for clearing that up he should of said what you just told me it can do everything the Xbox 360 can at minimum power settings. Was I the only one confused by that statement he made?

lol you are still confused.. it's like this

no one knows how powerful is wii u.. what we got now are all rumors.. some say weaker, same say 1.5 times more powerful bla bla bla.. but nothing is confirmed..

and this guy here said, it is not weaker... it is at least the same as current xbox OR stronger... capiche?

it depends... some games just offers mindless violence, which, you know, mindless... like god of war... i like god of war, because it offers a dark side story of greek mythology and i like story based on mythology.. i played gow 1 through 3, 70% because of story, 30% because of gameplay... and gow 3 concluded the story nicely, though there is a possibility of a sequel.. but until then, no spin off or prequel would make me buy another gow... like the recently announced gow ascension..

some games need to introduce some violence to give some impact.. like assassins creed.. though, assassins creed is not that violence.. its just violence enough, to give an impact... i cannot imagine assassins creed without a little bit of violence in it...

so yeah.. it depends...

#88919 What happens if the PS4 and 720 are only 2-4x more powerful than Wii U?

Posted by eugoreez on 20 June 2012 - 09:02 AM in General Gaming

I guess you're part of the 1%

A LOT of people just go "Xbox has better graphics" even though there are only marjonal differences or "ps3 has x, y and z in the specs which make it better" but very little actually think about what those things. To some extent the blu-ray and free online subscription sold me on the PS3

I either choose a console based on games (exclusives) I want, what I can do with the console, and quality/brand loyalty. For example I got a cube because of the Resident Evil remake, but got a Playstation 2 because of the brand and the games library, I got a Wii because it blew me away as far as function (even though before it was announced I swore I'd never get another nintendo console again, cause of the cube), and I got a PS3 because it felt like a high quality machine + blu-ray oh and again brand loyalty.

I'm tempted by the Wii U because of the new controller, but this time I need to know that it's next gen ready as I already have an HD gaming console with a vast games library, I need to know in 2 or 3 years time that any advanced games will be portable, I don't care if the graphics are downgraded, so long as It can handle downscaled ports.

im pretty sure there is a lot ppl buy consoles based on games they offer instead of just 1%.. but it don't matter anyways... and yeah I kinda understand your point.. some ppl just buy things because it looked cool..

engine can always be tweaked to run on anything guys.. UE4 has been said to run on tablets and phones, why not wii u <_<

just be patient and wait for some more games come out for us to judge...

Specs sell consoles, 99% of the 360/PS3 playing crowd gamers don't actually know or tell the difference but if their console has a higher number than the other, it's "obviously" better.

Nintendo have made a very fine tuned machine, that is designed to play HD games at pinpoint accuracy and on two screens. Developers given time will use these tunings to their advantage and make games that rival PS4 and Nextbox graphics. Remember when Resident Evil 4 came out? People were blown away by that.

what?? no.. i bought ps3 because of games... if specs were the main thing, i would upgrade my pc instead.. but i didn't..

GTA 4 was pretty bad anyways.. so I dont really care, unless they make it similar to san andreas.. that could get my eyebrows up

#88280 PS3 Owners- What's a good game to start with?

Posted by eugoreez on 17 June 2012 - 11:04 AM in General Gaming

as far as im concerned, there is little japanese title available on the ps3, in english at least... some japanese titles are even influenced by the western style.. so, hard to recommend anything..

so i'll just recommend games from japanese companies, that i think worth of playing instead:

1. dragon dogma (nice game, kinda western influenced, i recommend you watch the gameplay videos first)
2. demon soul and dark soul (hard as hell, also kinda western influenced)
3. ninja gaiden sigma

post #7 got some japanese rpg's you could try

#88278 What happens if the PS4 and 720 are only 2-4x more powerful than Wii U?

Posted by eugoreez on 17 June 2012 - 10:56 AM in General Gaming

1.5 to 2 times more powerful, is more logical without having to shoot up too much on the price...

if the ps4 and xbox720 are really 6x to 10x more powerful, but the prices also 3x to 5x more expensive, will customers pay for it? I won't for sure... i paid about $450 for the fat ps3 before, and that is far as i can go, and i still dont think its that worth it.. im just too bored, and need something new to play =_=

#88276 So, Uh- I think I might want a PS4? [Wii U Hardware stuff]

Posted by eugoreez on 17 June 2012 - 10:48 AM in Wii U Hardware

how the hell does thread turned into apple argument? =_=

anyhow, don't be to concerned with the wii u hardware.. based on the arkham city graphic comparison (not really good quality though, but still), you can see some difference in terms sharpness, particle effects.. to me it is better on wii u.. with reference to my experience, gaming on the pc.. though we cannot say how it fares in the cpu processing (how many items, processes can it handle at one time etc.)

and one more thing, is the price... do you think, you can get a monster gaming machine, comparable to today most powerful pc without having to fork out, over $600 - $1000? ok I admit i am bad guessing prices, it is not the currency i always use anyway, so i am not familiar with pc components prices in the US.. but as far as i know, $600 is a lot to spend...

think about it for a second, for those who build pc, i believe $350 and above for graphic card is considered a price for high end graphic card.. correct me if im wrong.. a price of a console should already be around this price, just to include a high end card.. yeah, putting in the possibility of them using a customized chip with similar performances and what not, with special "bulk" prices.. it could be lower or higher, but i dont think it can be that far of differences, like a $100 - $150 off... unless, you know, there is something in business that i don't know that this kind of thing can be done.. that still does not include the processor, the ram, the input media, the exclusive shenanigans they have to put in to make the console sell... and in my observation (comments, hearsay), anything around $300 is "affordable" for gaming console

i believe, nintendo is trying to play safe here... make something that is cheap, but can sell itself without having years of losses.. and i think wii u hardware can be compared to the mid range pc currently.. which i think not that bad if its true.. still a lot of potential.. and console is supposed to be an easy and cheap way to game.. why strain your customers just to get ahead of the hardware game.. yeah it can be future proof.. but in business standpoint, company like nintendo could already have enough profit to develop new console, by the time your hardware superior console is starting to make profit... well i wouldn't know for sure, im just saying..

#88270 What Consoles do you have?

Posted by eugoreez on 17 June 2012 - 10:05 AM in General Gaming

hi.. im new here.. i see lots of forumers here are returning nintendo customers i guess.. from the wii has most votes.. haha.. not that i have problem with it or anything, im just saying :P

well, if wii u is released, it'll be my first nintendo console that i owned.. i played nintendo consoles before, like snes and gameboys, but those weren't mine.. and i was small back then.. i dont have a very fond memory of them.. haha

so the first console i owned is the PSone, pretty late in its life, which marks the start of my serious gaming life, and then the ps2 (few years before ps3 release) and ps3..

i don't own a wii, because back then i thought, wii is too focused on motion controls, which by any means is super cool.. but i also want a relaxed gaming, where i can sit on the couch like a slouch.. so i get the ps3 instead, planning to get wii sometime later (which i didn't because of money =_=).. and wii u was announced last year, which got me super excited.. it offers me the couch gaming i wanted, with extended experience with the tablet gamepad, and backward compatibility with the wii.. instant win to me.. :D
