You can't use the home Button on the 3DS while online either.

#136233 Slow CPU Will Shorten Wii U's Life - DICE Dev

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 22 November 2012 - 10:58 AM in Wii U Hardware

EDIT: I did write something, but this topic has taken a turn for the better ^^ so I'll take my correct, but massively low tech explination away.. :P

#135720 Why the Wii U CPU rumors might be true

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 21 November 2012 - 05:15 PM in Wii U Hardware

Its okay PH. I'm just stressed out with all the negativity.

not from you though

Yeah, this actually seems like the most grown up discussion of specs and such on the entire website to be honest. We're talking about the negatives, but talking about how these "negatives" could be positives in the future/if devs weren't lazy :P

#135717 More in-depth Wii U teardown.

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 21 November 2012 - 05:09 PM in Wii U Hardware

Sorry but I have a question what is the point of Nintendo have 2 gigs of ram in their system if its speed is slow wouldn't it be better to have faster ram but less of it or what I'm confused with this.

Ah, computer specs! Nothing's ever as simple as looking at one component :P

#135714 Blown away by the U

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 21 November 2012 - 05:04 PM in Wii U Hardware

Can you do split screen mp or zombies with the gamepad and pro controller?

Hahaha touché.....truthfullyyyyy I eat like an obesittyyy but I'm A big runner and I coach cross country lol so kinda helps my figure.....but I'm definitely the fattest non fatty there is.....moving my wrist with the nunchuck is far more movement than I wanna be doing when I play video games lol

Yeah, you can split screen, but what's even cooler is, one of you can play on the TV and the other on the gamepad, no screen peeking!

#135519 Wifi or USB Ethernet?

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 21 November 2012 - 12:59 PM in Wii U Hardware

Has anybody done a straight, wifi - usb ethernet comparison at their own home using the same internet?

#134895 Has anyone tried to have an ID that was taken?

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 20 November 2012 - 03:31 PM in Wii U Hardware

I usually use my own name (as is probably obvious) but recently signed up to League of Legends and used "Slim Jim Phantom" Might use that, minus the spaces...
Or keep it as TomBolland or TomBollandLTD haha, I'll probably just do that.. :P

#134888 Wii U 'Has A Horrible, Slow CPU' Says Metro Last Light Dev

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 20 November 2012 - 03:29 PM in Wii U Hardware

Although I admit it is nice to know about the specs ad such, I buy a console so I don't have to bother with all this.

#133855 Wii U hackers supposedly find unannounced Wii U titles

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 19 November 2012 - 04:22 PM in Wii U Games and Software

The Yoshi thing does sound more credible than it would if there wasn't that Nintendo Land attraction...

#133782 Are people over-praising the Wii U?

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 19 November 2012 - 02:51 PM in Wii U Hardware

The memory speed and CPU speed are not known at this time.

Anandtech article is a joke.

that is all.

No one can over praise or under praise it until it has a chance to show its potential. Silly, unambitious (graphically) games like NSMBU and others don't mean anything. Ports of current gen games are only going to look like the same game those systems run.

The Power based CPU is a great move, the amount of RAM is great. the EDRAM is great. The GPGPU is great. the integration of everything is great, and the novel way in which games will be controlled is great.

I have seen undeserved criticism so far and a lot of assumptions made, but not cold facts that would lead to a denigration of the system.

So at least those (including developers on the record) who are "over praising" the Wii U can't be any worse than those hating on it based on assumptions... like anandtech with its erroneous info, assumptions and calculations of Wii U performance based off of consoles that aren't the wii( u or engadget (which likes to refer to Wii U's revolutionary, easy to use, and feature packed gamepad as "bizarre" every chance they get.)

I think I love you.

#133549 Gamepad question

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 19 November 2012 - 10:53 AM in Wii U Hardware

Olden days rechargeable batteries had a "memory" and would harden up, if you charged them before they were empty, or didn't fully charge them, it would "remember" this and think it was fully charged.

Nowadays batteries run on cycles, so they have a total amount of full charge and depletes, which is unaffected no matter when you charge them.

It shouldn't really matter, probably just making sure.

#132578 Nintendo Charges 50 cent for kids to be on the Nintendo Network

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 18 November 2012 - 02:49 PM in Wii U Hardware

I actually believe it would work a lot better the other way around, much like mobile internet. Where you verify you're old enough by using your card. That way, if parents ask why they want their card details and the answer is "to lie about my age to complete strangers on the internet" it's going to be a lot more effective.

Great idea! If only it was more enforceable...

#131448 Wii U: 7 Things You Must Know

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 17 November 2012 - 11:29 AM in Wii U Hardware

That's a bummer that you need an external to do gamesaves. Would I be able to use a flashdrive to store saves?

Last I heard, you could use SD cards for save data and stuff, you just couldn't install full games onto them?

#131445 How much space your Wii U actually has

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 17 November 2012 - 11:21 AM in Wii U Hardware

I'm getting the 32gig, I'm rather tech savvy, It was just that I've had nothing to do with consoles for a few years :P thanks for the info :)

#130861 How much space your Wii U actually has

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 16 November 2012 - 11:27 AM in Wii U Hardware

Considering the newest console I own is the Gamecube...

How much space do things like saved games and miis and so on actually us nowadays? Because to me, 4gb sounds fine if you're just a family, buying games on discs and having a few saves?

#128622 Other launch titles...

Posted by TomBollandLTD on 13 November 2012 - 10:24 AM in Wii U Hardware

I think comparisons of late ps2, launch ps3 and current ps3 games are the best for this sort of thing.

And xbox of course (:

#113902 Ninja Turtles

I'm sure there was a rumour of a TMNT game that David made a video about, but it turned out to be completely fake..

EDIT:
I can't find the one disbanding the rumour, maybe there wasn't one...? I think there was though.
