doubt il go head set think my hdmi surround amp and the 7.1 speakers and the gamepad 2 speakers will be enough surround and audio for me and chatting to the mic as u hold the game pad or sit it in the stand

the tri core powerpc cpu in wiiu is like 5 watts power consumption powerpc 4xx family is slightly more power use than ARM A9 CORES a9s are 1 watt plus and powerpc 4xx are 1.6watts at 1.6ghz clock
likely clock speeds are 1.6ghz cpu and 800mhz gpu roughly give or take im hoping for a high gpu clock gpu looking based on amd 4670 (320 stream processors)
ok this is my opinion on the CPU debate. one everything is custom so there is no way for ANYONE except nintendo and IBM to know exactly what it will be capable of. i think nintendo from the start had two dev kits out for developers they were testing both of them one had the 3core powerpc 476fp and the other a quad core 3 ghz power 7. i think the specs that are getting leaked are from developers are people in the know of the 3core power pc kit. i believe nintendo talked to devs and understood they needed to give them a little more... to ensure Wii U isnt forgot about in 3 years due to weak hardware. i believe the final kits will have quad core power7 chips CPU and e6760 type GPU as far as architecture goes. ladies and gentlemen my gamers and friend that configuration will ensure that nintendo can play with the big boys next gen.... not out perform them but seriously if wii u is 2-3x (i hate the stupid multiplers but it applies right now) weaker than nextbox than it will be just fine and will receive 3rd party support if the developers see there is an audience for their game on the system.

at 45nm 3mb edram is same size and power consumtion as 1mb sram so 3x catch and 2x min bandwidth on cpu to xenon with no extra power draw

i love those who compare differant hardware in a like for like way, its so beyond funny wiiu could be 3x the machine a pc would at the same on paper spec, a pc is in fact a very very unrefined and non efficent beast pc i etc buses are like so out dated and slow its hilarious watching them BIG THEM UP
agianst ps3 and x360 the wiiu is a big leap power wise and resultion support wise qouting the latest $2000 graphics card with 3 gb ram is pc fanboys going insane again thats like 1% of the pcs in the world LOL

PSNext 4k? Please, current affordable graphics cards have trouble running games at decent quality at 2560X1600 at 60fps. 4K is a no go, but the thing is current GPUs (Nvidia 600 series and AMD 7000) series can support 4K output, for like movies and computer desktops, but games are just a no go.
If these people want to say the Wii U is going to be outdated at least do some research, state that how games like starwars 1313 are a clear example of what next gen should be and that if rumours of the Wii U having a R700 GPU then it will be in trouble, as recently the 7000 and 600 series GPUs have had a major architecture change, that allows them to get crazy performance and with technologies like TXAA, offer FXAA at a lower hit at frame rates.
That's what they should be comparing, a lot of these Nintendo are losing articles have no idea about game performance, they know nothing about the PC gaming space to even try to understand the console gaming space.

High end cpus and many laptops components will be made with a more dense fabrication process like 32nm. It costs a lot more money to use this fabrication process as its relatively new so is reserved normally for more expensive equipment. In time that fabrication process will take over from 40 or 45nm at the budget end. If the wii u was made with 32nm fabrication clearly it would run cooler and consume less power but it may have added a lot of money to the cost. I could only guess maybe as little as $10 or maybe up to $50. I'm sure later wii u's will probably have a revised chipset using the 32nm process and by that time perhaps more expensive equipment will be on a 28 or 25nm fabrication process.
The original xbox 360 was a 90nm process for both gpu and cpu. Then the next revision went to 90nm for the gpu and 65nm for the cpu. Then both became 65nm for the jasper model which was much more reliable. The xbox slim combined both gpu and cpu in the same silicon at 45nm. Later a revision of that incorporated the 360 upscaling chip into the main chip at 45nm.
The PS3 went down a similar route although last time I checked hadn't incorporated both chips together. Maybe the playstation super slim model will do that.
The power consumption figure given out indicates the console is going to be at the lower end of expectations I would say either by having a more budget architecture or simply running better hardware at lower speeds. Clearly the feature set of the gpu is going to be more advanced than ps3/360 but we don't yet know how the wii u will compare in raw performance with regard polygons and texturing. The cpu side appears to be the casualty of the wii u design. The cpu of the wii is the same as the cpu of the gamecube in real terms and to offer a triple core version of that at higher speeds like may be 1.6-2.4ghz is not going to be competitive with the ps3 or 360 even if it offers some enhancements.

All these missing features rely on cpu power. Its clear developers are struggling with the wii u with regard cpu power. It has bags of memory, a large 32 megabytes of ultra fast video memory, a feature rich gpu but there is something lacking with regards cpu.
When you take in all the information available it seems like the wii u will struggle with games that are cpu intensive. Best examples of these I think are Bethedsa games like Fallout 3 and Skyrim because so much is happening simultanously in the game world.

Lol! Very interesting. That's true that hard drives are sensitive little guys. I've had 2 pooch on my xbox. Typically from impact. But neither my wii or 3ds had ever had that kind of issue. I never thought of the idea that flash memory is superior. Hhmmmmm

That's pretty awesome actually. So even while playing with the pro controller the GamePad will be useful. I'd like to see more games utilizing this function
no the wii remote you point at it with a wii remote how would u point at it witha CLASSIC RETRO PAD lol yes i suppose you could but that defeats the point

So, I really never liked the wii remotes and since we can not get a second gamepad for a while, will the wii u pro controller work for every game or do you think it only works with some games? I would like some sort of 2nd controller for when I play with my friends.

its general purpose gpu aka the gpu is capable of general purpose code like a cpu it actually goes further than that think of a gpgpu as a gpu a cpu and a steamer for media and sound they can do all of these things even at the same time TRUE GPGPU THAT IWATA IS """"""""""""CLEARLY DISCRIBING"""""" is when its all tightly intergrated and the programmer developer etc will use the gpu far more and code can be spread across the gpu streamers etc and the cpu and the gpu can be part of the cpu code pipeline and the cpu can be part of the gpu pipe line
wiiu is 100% GPGPU theres cpu like code on the gpu and cpu will likely run a lot of gpu code remember the gekko / broadway core was CUSTOM with graphics burst pipes and on cpu custom effects FULLY PROGRAMMABLE so the cpu and the gpu could be doing graphics or one or the other both or one could be doing physics
WII U is using a very powerful gpu and clearly gp-gpu and threading via shaders is going to be how things are done devs will need to polish engines to gpgpu standards
so a cpu heavy engine would need converting to gpgpu its vastly more efficent than cpu over there gpu over here type coding its ether system on chip or its system on package
the 32MB EDRAM is likely more than a gpu buffer its likely for general purpose code also

little break down to help those not in the know get a picture in there heads 1GB ram and 32mb edram for games (let alone any other type of use of the second 1gb ram that might be there ACCESS RAM SOUND MAYBE) LET JUST LOOK AT WHAT IWATA SAID
1gb ram and 32mb edram for games as all the CURRECT LEAKS (3x broadway type cores FACT) are saying would be more ram/memory for games than ps3 x360 and wii combined
x360 512mb plus 10mb edram - OS ram
ps3 256mb x2 no edram -OS ram
wii 88mb ram 3mb edram
- OS around 80mb plus total the wiiu would have more ram overal than ps3 x360 and wii all put together for GAMES just a little numbers break down so you can decide for yourself
