#110880 ZombiU: What do U think?

Posted by LaserSWE on 21 September 2012 - 04:16 AM in Wii U Games and Software

It looks great and I love everything that ive seen and heard about it so far. Super-excited!
Although i believe that a lot of consumers will think of this game as something that its not and end up getting dissapointed. This is a difficult and single-player oriented survival horror-game specifically designed for the hardcore-gamer crowd. Some consumers problably are expecting Left 4 Dead or something.
I will pick it up at launch and hopefully so will many others.

(Also Ubi Soft Montpellier is one of my favorite devs out there)

#237752 Would you had done anything different with releasing the WiiU?

Posted by LaserSWE on 08 August 2013 - 01:02 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I would have looked at what reasonable time the games would be completed so that important games would be avaliable at launch (Nintendo Land and NSMBU is no titles to launch a new console with) and that there would be a continued flow of exclusive and/or NEW content. Not late past-gen ports with less content then past-gen versions. Would also launch it with a Pro Controller to keep costs lower, and the Gamepad could be either with the Deluxe bundle and/or as a alternative controller. The GamePad isnt really the same "revolution" as the Wiimote so a demand for Pro Controller in all games would work as well and then developers could utilize GamePad features as they do now... map, inventory and honking... heh.

What more? That the Pro Controller could work as a Classic Controller so that one could play supported Wii-games as well as Wii Virtual Console-titles "straight from the box". A shared account for all Nintendo digital-downloads (Wii, Wii U, 3DS).

The flashmemory could be as it is however a HDD with around 250-500 GB so that developers could utilize it for installing games and also of course having the freedom to purshase eShop content without thinking of memoryspace or external memory storages.

I would see to it that exclusive titles would stay exclusive (Razors Edge, Rayman Legends, Human Revolution Directors Cut..) If third-party wouldnt want to make a Wii U-version of multiplat game it would be worth it to finance its existence so that the console would at least sell so that third-party later on would feel that the console had a good user-base to make versions on their own behalf.

I would let someone else do the marketing campaigns since Nintendos own commercials are like "How to" FAQs that are way to detailed and describing. Utterly grey.

This is how i think Wii U would have be a more interesting console at launch in a sales perspective.

#238448 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by LaserSWE on 11 August 2013 - 03:54 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I think NSMBU, ZombiU, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Lego City Undercover, Pikmin 3, New Super Luigi U... are reasons to own a Wii U. However, perhaps, on that level that they "only" become really interesting while already having the console - and not titles that makes you MUST HAVE THAT CONSOLE. I think titles such as X, Mario Kart 8, SM3DWorld and the next (not the HD-remaster) The Legend of Zelda will sell consoles to a segment of gamers that after that will get their eyes on these smaller titles - including The Wonderful 101.

#108357 Will I still be able to get a premium?

Posted by LaserSWE on 15 September 2012 - 10:11 PM in Wii U Hardware

Just wait and see. WiiU aint going anywhere and even though I truly can understand the wish to have it as soon as possible, I think its best to wait for the version (Premium/Deluxe) that you want instead of settling with the core-version.

#105518 Wii U Wishlist

Posted by LaserSWE on 09 September 2012 - 10:58 AM in Wii U Games and Software

In my mind Wii U is (will become) the perfect combination of Gamecube and Wii so I hope to see a lot of the really great multiplayer/party-games such as Wii Sports and Super Smash Bros on the platform combined with great singleplayer-adventure games (like Zelda and Metroid Prime) as well as some Nintendo-franchises that we havent seen in a while, such the already confirmed Pikmin 3, but also F-Zero and Starfox.
Im not sure what to expect in terms of second and third-party games but it seems that a lot of PS360-games will be ported/updated, at least in the beginning of its lifespan. But hopefully we will see some great games from such studios and publishers as well.
Maybe Nintendo will close some interesting third-party deals such as they did during the Gamecube-era (with Capcom, Namco, Square Enix and Konami and so on).

#108335 Wii U Wishlist

Posted by LaserSWE on 15 September 2012 - 09:25 PM in Wii U Games and Software

sadly. im sure once many more dev companies jump ship and make successful games, i bet they would jump on. bethesda or even bioware RPGs could work so well with this gamepad. your inventory, making your dialog choices, messing with hotkeys or assigned spells/buttons, picklocking stuff on the small screen. so many uses. I'm sure they will give in eventually if they see the money and opportunity.

I really would like to see the Game of the Year-edition of Skyrim on Wii U, but it remains to be seen if Bethesda will change their mind or not.
But since they are, at the core, computer-game developers I really dont think they will find Wii U any more interesting then they find the Wii. I.e not at all. They will be looking for the most sweaty hardware out there because in the end thats what gonna get consumers excited about the next Fallout or The Elder Scrolls.
Same with BioWare and Obsidian.

But yes, i agree that these kind of games would fit very well with the WiiPad. Luckily these kind of games are developed by far more different companies today (even though BioWare and Bethesda is in a class of their own) so we could still see some games like these on the Wii U.
I guess maybe theres a chance for Dragon Age 3 if Mass Effect 3 gets good sales.

Tomb Raider: Directors Cut (Possibly developed by Straight Right)

Starfox Adventures U (HD Remake or Sequel, either way)

Metroid Prime 4 (Preferably being more of a FPA then a FPS, like the original)

The Legend of Zelda (Such as it was shown in the Wii U Tech Demo)

Two Worlds III (With Reality Pump developing Sacrilegium on the Wii U im also hoping for this)

Shadows of the Eternals (Funding seems to be failing. Hopefully Nintendo picks it up for a retail-Eternal Darkness 2 release)

Beyond Good and Evil 2 (With Ubi Montpellier taking a special interest in Wii U i would be hoping for this)

ZombiU 2 (Really enjoyed the original)

Super Mario 64-2 (I would like the next 3D-Mario to be set in Mushroom Kingdom)

Paper Mario RPG (A true sequel to The Thousand Year Door)

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles 3 (Preferably in the same style as The Crystal Bearers)

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (With the success of 3 Ultimate this seems likely)

The Evil Within (Shinji Mikamis new Survival Horror-game)

Wolfenstein: The New Order (Not much for Wolfenstein, but with the director of the Darkness this is interesting)

Saints Row 4 (Because it looks out of control)

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow II (Not a huge fan of the preducesor but just the thought of a new Castlevania on a Nintendo-platform makes me shiver)

Final Fantasy: Lightning Returns (Its FF XIII-2 with a touch of Majoras Mask! What can go wrong? Nothing!)

Killer is Dead - Its a Killer 7 / No More Heroes-mash up and belongs on a Nintendo platform

South Park: The Stick of Truth - With Ubisoft postphoning the game from "Spring" to "2013" I am hoping that there will be a Wii U version as well

The Walking Dead - The Telltale seasons

Deadpool - Activision has put all other multiplatform-games on the Wii U so far, why not this one?

Apart from that, I guess everything's covered, I'd like to see more RPGs on the horizon though, since I can only think of 1 that's coming to Wii U.

1) X (Monolith)

2) Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem (Atlus, Intelligent Systems)

3) Dragon Quest X (Square Enix)

4) Romance of the Three Kingdoms XII (Tecmo Koei)

There are also A LOT MORE coming regarding RPGs on the eShop

#108329 Wii U Wishlist

If it's a multiplat, it will, but the PC version will rock the WiiU version anyway. But it will be superior to PS3 and 360 versions, but it'll probably appear on next-gen platforms, so we don't know what they'll offer yet.

Bethesda have already confirmed to not support WiiU

#164137 Wii U Wishlist

Posted by LaserSWE on 28 January 2013 - 10:22 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I would like there to be more "multiplatform"-games on Wii U. Currently there are a lot PS3/Xbox 360-games not announced for Wii U as well and I just dont care that much about those that are being revealed (The Amazing Spider-Man or Disney Infinity or whatnot). I want games like Tomb Raider, Lightning Returns, The Walking Dead, Cyberpunk 2077, GTA V, Metal Gear Solid, Remember Me and so on.
Not because I think all platforms should have the same games but since i sold my past-gen platforms for Wii U i would like to see some better support for it. At least excited and glad over Capcom announcing Resident Evil: Revelations for it.

#237747 Wii U version of Splinter Cell Blacklist will lack offline co-operative play

Posted by LaserSWE on 08 August 2013 - 12:22 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Man... it´s getting really annoying with the third party "support"... No, Ubisoft.. I wouldnt care less about the Wii U version hitting the shelves the same day as other versions. What I do care about however is if the game is complete or not..

Not that i think that the Wii U version will sell anyway, the install base is just too low so its doomed either way.. But at least they could care for those who actually do spend their money on their product while its out there.

#238435 Wii u purchases or the rest of the year

Posted by LaserSWE on 11 August 2013 - 12:55 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Rayman Legends and Deus Ex Human Revolution is already prebooked and paid for, so I guess them.

Heard that TopWare cancelled the Wii U version of Sacrilegium, which made me kinda "sad". Was looking forward to that game a lot.

Edit: Okay, made a list of games I will pick up going forward this year

Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
Batman: Arkham Origins
Super Mario 3D World
Sonic Lost World
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
Watch_Dogs
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
The Wonderful 101
Rayman Legends

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut

#108460 Wii U have Gamecube Compatibility?

Really hoping for Gamecube games on eShop.
(Or HD-remasters in store)

#109891 Wii U E3 2013 Wishlist

Posted by LaserSWE on 18 September 2012 - 11:57 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Paper Mario U problably wont see the light of day this early due to the 3DS game.
And Rockstar Games problably aint that eager to put GTA V on Wii U. Either.

My hopes
- An announcement of Retro Studios new game that "Everybody wants them to work on". Damn teasers.
- Bayonetta 2 Gameplay
- All new announcements of new IPs, multiplatform-games and exclusive first- and third party titles.
- Platinum Games acquired by Nintendo
- Saints Row 4 for WiiU
- Support from Telltale Games

#105539 Why would a graphical leap be a bad move for MS and Sony?

Posted by LaserSWE on 09 September 2012 - 11:18 AM in General Gaming

That wouldnt (and wont) be bad for them. Thats what will sell the platforms. Both Sony and Microsoft already have platforms out on the market that are somewhat near the Wii U in terms of hardware so not update that side on their future platforms wouldnt make sense.
Both of them have already put some effort in on lenghten their consoles lifetime-span with new controllers (Move, Kinect, PsVita compatibility and the Surface-tablet) so what they should and problably will offer with Xbox 3 and Playstation 4 is quite powerful hardware.

Which will be good for both us (Nintendo-games we can get on the Wii U. Other kind of more hardware-demanding games can, if we want them, be enjoyed on the other platforms) and for them (in sales). Its good that the consoles are different from one another.
I wouldnt want to go back to the times when one had three basicly similiar platforms beneath the TV with the only difference of some exclusive games.

#108355 Why Wii U is Expensive.

Posted by LaserSWE on 15 September 2012 - 10:09 PM in Wii U Hardware

Well, the difference is that Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 both came with new hardware while Wii U comes with only slightly better hardware then what we got back then, 7 years ago. Both Microsoft and Sony sold their hardware with loss, while Nintendo will earn on every sold platform.
Either way i think the price is legit. Its a new platform either way and people are buying it for the games that are made and will be made during the next five (plus) years. Not based on what chips are in it.

#110987 Which game are you playing right now ?

Posted by LaserSWE on 21 September 2012 - 09:44 AM in General Gaming

Paper Mario for Nintendo 64

#109489 Whats the age range

Posted by LaserSWE on 18 September 2012 - 08:00 AM in The Café

Will be 24 by the time WiiU is launched.

#165809 What wii u games have you sold

Posted by LaserSWE on 02 February 2013 - 01:11 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I bought about 9 games and sold everyone but New Super Mario Bros U (a keeper!). I problably will re-buy some of those games again when they are cheap, like ZombiU and Ninja Gaiden 3, Tekken and Sonic Racing.

#109414 What type of Gamer do you consider yourself to be?

Posted by LaserSWE on 18 September 2012 - 01:20 AM in General Gaming

I dont know. Video-games are a huge part of my life and has been since my childhood. But still, i dont consider myself hardcore. I enjoy playing most kind of games and I dont take pride in playing more then the casual Wii Sports/Call of Duty/FIFA-crowd. I think we are all the same. No need to categorise.

#109612 What type of Gamer do you consider yourself to be?

Posted by LaserSWE on 18 September 2012 - 12:49 PM in General Gaming

I believe the more "official" logic behind the terms is

Casual - Call of Duty, FIFA, Wii Sports, Singstar etc.
Core - Assassins Creed, Metroid Prime, Uncharted etc.
Hardcore - Demons Souls, Ikaruga, Bangai-O etc.

#109386 What TV are you gaming on?

Posted by LaserSWE on 17 September 2012 - 10:39 PM in The Café

Not sure (i.e not interested) in the exact product name but its a Toshiba LED 42 1080P.

#110993 What is your most anticipated download title?

Posted by LaserSWE on 21 September 2012 - 09:58 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Trine 2: Directors Cut and The Cave

#109393 What is your favourite gaming generation?

Posted by LaserSWE on 17 September 2012 - 11:44 PM in General Gaming

Hard to say, most gens have had something magical to them.

#205643 What is your favorite Sonic game?

Posted by LaserSWE on 09 May 2013 - 10:34 PM in General Gaming

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle on the Gamecube

Was my first game for the platform.

#164135 What GCN games should be remastered next?

Posted by LaserSWE on 28 January 2013 - 10:19 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Would love Starfox Adventures and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Sadly problably two games we wont see get remastered due to licensing/development/jibberish-reasons.
