#205644 Wii U Wishlist

Posted by LaserSWE on 09 May 2013 - 10:47 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Tomb Raider: Directors Cut (Possibly developed by Straight Right)

Starfox Adventures U (HD Remake or Sequel, either way)

Metroid Prime 4 (Preferably being more of a FPA then a FPS, like the original)

The Legend of Zelda (Such as it was shown in the Wii U Tech Demo)

Two Worlds III (With Reality Pump developing Sacrilegium on the Wii U im also hoping for this)

Shadows of the Eternals (Funding seems to be failing. Hopefully Nintendo picks it up for a retail-Eternal Darkness 2 release)

Beyond Good and Evil 2 (With Ubi Montpellier taking a special interest in Wii U i would be hoping for this)

ZombiU 2 (Really enjoyed the original)

Super Mario 64-2 (I would like the next 3D-Mario to be set in Mushroom Kingdom)

Paper Mario RPG (A true sequel to The Thousand Year Door)

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles 3 (Preferably in the same style as The Crystal Bearers)

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (With the success of 3 Ultimate this seems likely)

The Evil Within (Shinji Mikamis new Survival Horror-game)

Wolfenstein: The New Order (Not much for Wolfenstein, but with the director of the Darkness this is interesting)

Saints Row 4 (Because it looks out of control)

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow II (Not a huge fan of the preducesor but just the thought of a new Castlevania on a Nintendo-platform makes me shiver)

Final Fantasy: Lightning Returns (Its FF XIII-2 with a touch of Majoras Mask! What can go wrong? Nothing!)

Killer is Dead - Its a Killer 7 / No More Heroes-mash up and belongs on a Nintendo platform

South Park: The Stick of Truth - With Ubisoft postphoning the game from "Spring" to "2013" I am hoping that there will be a Wii U version as well

The Walking Dead - The Telltale seasons

Deadpool - Activision has put all other multiplatform-games on the Wii U so far, why not this one?

Apart from that, I guess everything's covered, I'd like to see more RPGs on the horizon though, since I can only think of 1 that's coming to Wii U.

1) X (Monolith)

2) Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem (Atlus, Intelligent Systems)

3) Dragon Quest X (Square Enix)

4) Romance of the Three Kingdoms XII (Tecmo Koei)

There are also A LOT MORE coming regarding RPGs on the eShop

I would like there to be more "multiplatform"-games on Wii U. Currently there are a lot PS3/Xbox 360-games not announced for Wii U as well and I just dont care that much about those that are being revealed (The Amazing Spider-Man or Disney Infinity or whatnot). I want games like Tomb Raider, Lightning Returns, The Walking Dead, Cyberpunk 2077, GTA V, Metal Gear Solid, Remember Me and so on.
Not because I think all platforms should have the same games but since i sold my past-gen platforms for Wii U i would like to see some better support for it. At least excited and glad over Capcom announcing Resident Evil: Revelations for it.

In my mind Wii U is (will become) the perfect combination of Gamecube and Wii so I hope to see a lot of the really great multiplayer/party-games such as Wii Sports and Super Smash Bros on the platform combined with great singleplayer-adventure games (like Zelda and Metroid Prime) as well as some Nintendo-franchises that we havent seen in a while, such the already confirmed Pikmin 3, but also F-Zero and Starfox.
Im not sure what to expect in terms of second and third-party games but it seems that a lot of PS360-games will be ported/updated, at least in the beginning of its lifespan. But hopefully we will see some great games from such studios and publishers as well.
Maybe Nintendo will close some interesting third-party deals such as they did during the Gamecube-era (with Capcom, Namco, Square Enix and Konami and so on).

sadly. im sure once many more dev companies jump ship and make successful games, i bet they would jump on. bethesda or even bioware RPGs could work so well with this gamepad. your inventory, making your dialog choices, messing with hotkeys or assigned spells/buttons, picklocking stuff on the small screen. so many uses. I'm sure they will give in eventually if they see the money and opportunity.

I really would like to see the Game of the Year-edition of Skyrim on Wii U, but it remains to be seen if Bethesda will change their mind or not.
But since they are, at the core, computer-game developers I really dont think they will find Wii U any more interesting then they find the Wii. I.e not at all. They will be looking for the most sweaty hardware out there because in the end thats what gonna get consumers excited about the next Fallout or The Elder Scrolls.
Same with BioWare and Obsidian.

But yes, i agree that these kind of games would fit very well with the WiiPad. Luckily these kind of games are developed by far more different companies today (even though BioWare and Bethesda is in a class of their own) so we could still see some games like these on the Wii U.
I guess maybe theres a chance for Dragon Age 3 if Mass Effect 3 gets good sales.

If it's a multiplat, it will, but the PC version will rock the WiiU version anyway. But it will be superior to PS3 and 360 versions, but it'll probably appear on next-gen platforms, so we don't know what they'll offer yet.

Bethesda have already confirmed to not support WiiU

#108909 Let's Talk IPs!

Posted by LaserSWE on 16 September 2012 - 11:44 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Unless a game is developed by a group in Nintendo or one of their first-party developers then it can't be considered a Nintendo IP.

The point is an IP doesn't have to be developed by a first party studio for it to belong to you.

This is simply not correct. For an example, Sony owns the property for Ratchet & Clank, Heavenly Sword, Resistance and Demons Souls (etc) even though they all were developed by third-party studios. If a publisher have FINANCED a project they are also OWNING it.

#106042 What Consoles do you have?

Posted by LaserSWE on 11 September 2012 - 07:57 AM in General Gaming

I recently sold off most off my video-game collection so it would be more living-room friendly. So now I only have Playstation 3.
And soon a Wii U. The coming years will have to tell if the PS3 will stay or go (If the PS4 will be backwards-compatible or not).

#206290 The official "What games should I get?" Thread

Posted by LaserSWE on 12 May 2013 - 01:01 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Will get Ninja Gaiden 3 next, after that i basically have all the must have games. Thinking about getting Amazing Spider-Man or 007 Legends after that, anyone picked them up? Are they worth 30 bucks?

#237746 Pikmin 3, Does it do anything superior to ps360?

Posted by LaserSWE on 08 August 2013 - 12:18 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Its beauty is pretty much in the colours.. Textures look almost Perfect Dark Zero. Which I guess are to be expected since its 1) a game that began development on Wii 2) One of Nintendos very first HD-games 3) On a platform that is similar to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 hardware.

I think the most beautiful Wii U game as of yet is Need for Speed: Most Wanted U. When it look its best it looks like Uncharted 2 on wheels.

#206315 Nintendo E3 2013 Lineup

Posted by LaserSWE on 12 May 2013 - 03:31 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Due to Nintendo already having confirmed most games (although not yet showed them) i am more excited about what third-party will bring up (mostly Capcom and Sega). But it definetely will be great to see how the next Mario will look like. And what is Retro Studios working on? This is the time to spill those beans Nintendo!

#110987 Which game are you playing right now ?

Posted by LaserSWE on 21 September 2012 - 09:44 AM in General Gaming

Paper Mario for Nintendo 64

#108340 Farming Simulator

Posted by LaserSWE on 15 September 2012 - 09:31 PM in Wii U Games and Software

A friend of mine have been playing this series for years and its always the most uninteresting (ever) to look at.
The game lacks the cozy-ness of Harvest Moon and a much required substance other then to just plow that field. Over and over.
Maybe they are changing that though with this new games since it seems to be coming out on every platform on the market. One could hope. I like Harvest Moon. So.

#238448 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by LaserSWE on 11 August 2013 - 03:54 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I think NSMBU, ZombiU, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Lego City Undercover, Pikmin 3, New Super Luigi U... are reasons to own a Wii U. However, perhaps, on that level that they "only" become really interesting while already having the console - and not titles that makes you MUST HAVE THAT CONSOLE. I think titles such as X, Mario Kart 8, SM3DWorld and the next (not the HD-remaster) The Legend of Zelda will sell consoles to a segment of gamers that after that will get their eyes on these smaller titles - including The Wonderful 101.

#110880 ZombiU: What do U think?

Posted by LaserSWE on 21 September 2012 - 04:16 AM in Wii U Games and Software

It looks great and I love everything that ive seen and heard about it so far. Super-excited!
Although i believe that a lot of consumers will think of this game as something that its not and end up getting dissapointed. This is a difficult and single-player oriented survival horror-game specifically designed for the hardcore-gamer crowd. Some consumers problably are expecting Left 4 Dead or something.
I will pick it up at launch and hopefully so will many others.

(Also Ubi Soft Montpellier is one of my favorite devs out there)

#205645 Shadow of the Eternals

Posted by LaserSWE on 09 May 2013 - 10:56 PM in Wii U Games and Software

It seems like the funding-campaign is failing quite harshly

Hopefully Nintendo will pick it up and release it as a retail Eternal Darkness 2.

#106025 This game should be on wii u

Posted by LaserSWE on 11 September 2012 - 05:49 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I guess that I would buy it and love it, and all. But no, not really. Not in terms of what I really, REALLY, want. Something new, as Galaxy originally was, is what i look forward to in the next Mario installation.

#108454 If it comes with an HDMI cable, what about the standard port

Posted by LaserSWE on 16 September 2012 - 06:35 AM in Wii U Hardware

It's better this way. The AV cables are cheaper to buy than an HDMI.

Yeah, not really. The pricetag of a Nintendo Wii AV cable is about 45 dollar while you can get a HDMI for like 7 dollar (doesnt mather if you buy a cheap one since all HDMI cables is of the same quality). Nintendo obviously knows this as well.
(HDMI is a standard in which they wouldnt be able to make one especially for the Wii U. So its clever to make consumers buy their own product, i.e the AV cable instead of HDMI which anyone can get anywhere for basicly no price at all).

#108481 If it comes with an HDMI cable, what about the standard port

Posted by LaserSWE on 16 September 2012 - 07:14 AM in Wii U Hardware

I have not seen this, could I have a link please?

http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/wii_u_52414.html

Nearly at the bottom of the page

"If you are unable to connect to your TV using the included HDMI cable please use the appropriate Wii cables"

#108458 If it comes with an HDMI cable, what about the standard port

Posted by LaserSWE on 16 September 2012 - 06:38 AM in Wii U Hardware

most likely be compatibility with Wii cables from what we have seen. I just hope I do not get screwed over just because I have an awesome and big SD TV.

Nintendo have confirmed on their website that consumers will have to use the Wii cables for SD-TVs on Wii U.

#107809 Basic Bundle Worth It?/Anyone getting it?

Posted by LaserSWE on 14 September 2012 - 11:27 PM in Wii U Hardware

Im definetely picking up the Premium/Deluxe edition. Id rather have a white platform but then again, ill take all the HDD space I can get. I remember my first Playstation 3 which was a 20GB i imported from Japan. Not much memory to play around with.. so I would never, by choice, choose to have only 8GB.
Also, since the sensor-bar aint coming with the Basic i just see it as an uncomplete package since many Wii U games actually will support, some even require, Wiimotes. Not to mention the Wii-backwardscompatibility and Virtual Console-games. (Which i hear wont be playable on the WiiU Pad).

#207626 Elder Scrolls on Wii U?

Posted by LaserSWE on 16 May 2013 - 04:03 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Bethesda has never supported a Nintendo platform

#207630 Elder Scrolls on Wii U?

Posted by LaserSWE on 16 May 2013 - 04:33 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Because no Nintendo system was capable of what they want: the Gamecube didn't have programmable shaders, which is the reason why the Xbox conversion of Morrowind was easy, and the Wii had no chance at running what they wanted. The Wii U is very capable, custom hardware and all. If Bethesda wanted hardware that was easy to develop for, they wouldn't bother with the PS3.

Well, this might have been true if Nintendo had released Wii U back in 2006. Is Wii U the platform that Bethesda wants in the year of 2013 (and 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017...) I wouldnt bet on it. I would be glad if they did though.

#207921 Elder Scrolls on Wii U?

Posted by LaserSWE on 17 May 2013 - 03:22 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Watch Dogs was based around the PC, which the Wii U and PS4 versions will be most similar to. Crysis 3 may be a current gen game, but it is using the engine that they want to use for next-gen systems. And if they can scale Unreal 4 and Frostbite 3 to a smartphone, then they can easily scale it to Wii U. Frostbite 3's first game is on PS360: would that not make ot a next-gen engine then?

I think you are a bit confused here. A engine made for making games is not the same thing as the actual game. A developer cant make a great looking and demanding game designed for the Playstation 4 and just because the engine is compatible on a lesser platform just make it work on a smartphone or Wii U. The power of the next-gen Sony and Microsoft platforms isnt in the engines, its in the hardware.

Watch_Dogs is also based on the Anvil Engine which was developed for the PS360-platforms. That a PC-is "main" doesnt mean anything in the context.

Wii U is Nintendos eight gen platform, but like it or not, in terms of performance its a seventh gen console.

You wont be seeing any dedicated PS4/XB3-games on the Wii U. It will never happen. We might get versions of games.. like the Tomb Raider-games on the Wii. But they wont be the same. They will be lesser. A publisher like Bethseda is more likely to port some past-gen over to the Wii U then actually design a new game around it.

#207905 Elder Scrolls on Wii U?

Posted by LaserSWE on 17 May 2013 - 12:44 AM in Wii U Games and Software

The only next gen engine that isn't being brought to Wii U is Frostbite 3, and that's more due to EA having a horrible relationship with Nintendo. Epic isn't bringing Unreal 4, but they said that anyone can. The engine that Watch Dogs is using was going to be used in the future, Crysis 3 was ready to be released and running beautifully according to Crytek and fully supports it according to Precursor Games. Kojima never said anything about the Fox Engine on Wii U, so that may not come, but Kojima is on good terms with Nintendo.

Yes, but you mentioning past-gen games like Crysis 3 and Watch_Dogs as examples is quite self explanatory though, right?

That is the kind of games that Wii U is/could be getting. These games were not designed for the hardware of the Playstation 4 (for an example), it was based around the hardware of Xbox 360. That a engine is scalable doesnt mean that they can just lower a bar and suddenly it would work on Wii U.

#207692 Elder Scrolls on Wii U?

Posted by LaserSWE on 16 May 2013 - 08:41 AM in Wii U Games and Software

You know that it isn't capable how? The Wii U will be able to run all of the same engines as the other systems, just slightly scaled down. It won't be too different. It's just more complicated than the PS4, and Bethesda doesn't care if it's complicated or not: the PS3 is proof of this.

The next-gen engines and games made for PS4/PC and Xbox 3 will be as likely to work on Wii U as Twilight Princess would have worked on Nintendo 64.
