You pretty much nailed it. The system released with about 25 titles making it one of the largest launch library in years. Who in there right mind can afford every game and who doesn't own another console already 7 years into the generation. Am I going to purchase this awesome new Ip in zombie u and that great Nintendo game in Mario, or am I going to buy a late port that runs so so compared to the Xbox or pc version ? Thats why there are hardly anybody playing blops, nba, madden, and ac3. Can't expect a month old system to compete online wise with the big boys yet .

lol i totally get what your saying, and even agree with you. Being a big xbox guy, i cant imagine the experience is the same.

However, realistically, how many people does it take to form an online lobby in AC 3? 15? 20? To me, to think that 15 people.....in the world.....are not playing AC3 at all times, enough to form a lobby and game, is just absurd. This IS what your saying right? Or is it just connection issues that is the reason you cant find a game?

I search on the weekdays and can never find a game I checked this saturday and was able to play theres just not a big online following for assasins creed 3. I just got blops 2 and have no trouble at all finding an online game that game is awsome if you like fps.

I have blops 2 it is pretty awesome.....should I really be worried that if I get ac3 I won't be able to play online? This is kind of blowing my mind

the mutiplayer is non existent on the wii u the only time I can find a game is like on the weekend. Its not bad though for mutiplayer you basically just assasinate other players while trying to be hidden and avoid being assasinated your self. You level up and you have different perks for your charcter too.

when you say nonexistent....do u mean literally nonexistent? Like can't play it at all? Gimme the honest truth lol.....like if I go out and buy it today will in not be able to play multiplayer?

Ive posted a little bit about it before, but still not too sure. Im really thinking about getting AC3, but am not sure how it plays because ive never played a single one of the AC's before. Can anyone shed some light on how the multiplayer works etc?

Just a heads up, this a MAJOR issue for me also. I love the U, but the voice chat is just brutal. Its so difficult, and unneccessary. All I want is a party while I play a game. Thats it.

BUT.....I think this might make you happy. If you own an ipod/iphone.....the earbuds that come with the device have a microphone in it. Yes, the normal white earbuds apple makes. I know there are some without microphones, but im pretty sure all the newer ones do. Definitely if it came with your iphone or pod. So, if you have a pair, then you can just plug those babies into the gamepad, and your buddies can hear you chat and vice versa. its not as clear as lets say a tritton set etc from xbox or so, but for a free headset, with in game sound, its not bad. hope this helps.

Honestly, im in love with my U......BUT theposter made some reallyyyyy reallyyy good points as far as what im looking for in the system. I wish more than ANYTHING It had normal voice chat, and wasnt such a process. Like you said, being able to voice chat while keeping the map on the gamepad.....it jsut makes no sense to me why you cant.....and not being able to chat while playing a game like NSMBU just baffles my mind. I get that they want people to be playing live, but for the love of Ray J they put out a next generation console, and you cant voicechat at all times? jeez.....

With that being said, As I mentioned, I LOVE my U, and I think it is in soooo many ways exactly what I wanted, and a MAJOR step up for my liking from the Wii. That system was just not good imo. The nunchuck didnt do it for me. I think people like us just need to do what we can with the voice chat, and be happy we at least have it for blops at all on a nintendo system.

Aw, darn. And it would have been a useful feature, too. It's pretty weird that Nintendo didn't at least make it so where Wii games are viewable on the gamepad, since it has it's own senor bar:

lol truee I just hate the nunchuck with a passion....I really just dont get it.....the gamepad is exactly what wii was missing......the hd and all the rest of the upgrades are solid, but the change from nunchuck to gamepad is the revolution for me lol. Was so agaisnt wii because of it. And grew up with 64, so im a hugeee nintendo mark.

This has been discussed before and doing a search would have found the relevant thread(s). To answer your question no it's not possible. This is for two reasons. First of all the Wii games were never designed to be played with the Gamepad. Secondly when playing Wii games you have to put the Wii U in Wii mode which doesn't support the Wii U specific controllers.

Does anybody know of any solid headsets. I had the tritton pros for my 360, and apart from the wires, they were really awesome. Very comfy, and great sound. With that being said, Im learning more about online mp and voice chat with the U, I know its not as prevalent on the U, but its there nonetheless. Does anybody know of any good headsets or any coming out? The only one ive really seen is the 50 dollar tritton one that is getting really bad reviews....Thanks!

lol I have the system. Ive had it since launch. But I dont know how to hear other people during black ops. My buddy just got it on saturday, but he doesnt have black ops, so we dont know how to test it. I dont think there is voice chat at all during NSMBU. So, I dont know how to test it lol.

Almost...lol. The mic is on the apple earbuds (well the iPhone boxed 1s do) but yes, I use them. I play blackops more just on the gamepad..plug in headphones and let the wife have the TV.

Ok people, so I appreciate all the feedback etc, but after trying last night, I still have no idea how t ovoice chat with someone while playing a game lol.....can someone PLEASE shed some light on this.....and what kind of headset is required, or if you can just use regular headphones and speak through the mic on the gamepad?

LOL, anyone who has Wii U must be completely satisfied, and if they arent, they probably had some trepidation about buying one in the first place. The ONLY complaint I have, if you can even call it a complaint, is the launch titles, NSMBU is a 9/10 in my book, and has just blown me away......BLOPS 2 is very very solid, and gonna be the game that consumes me while i eagerly await new titles......but im not big on AC3, zombie u etc.....so i cant even call it a complaint, because I, just like everyone else knew exactly the games that would be available.....its simply a justification for having ANY one thing be not stellar with the WII U. Everything else has been above and beyond what my expectations were for the system.

Dont really know why someone would sell this so soon.

Eagerly awaiting Rayman, Zelda, Kart, Party, and all the titles and platformers that put Nintendo into a league of their own. And the sole reason it can still be a monster entity among microsoft and sony.

It's not just Black Ops II. A lot of games won't have the sound come through the Gamepad unless you switch to Gamepad mode, such as Darksiders II, Assassin's Creed III etc. It may or may not be part of the Gamepad hardware itself, or simply a choice by the developers.

I appreciate the help, I know its confusing lol.... but im not able to plug in my headphones, and see the map on the gamepad and get audio....the only way im able to get audio through my headset is by displaying the game on the gamepad, and not using the map.....which makes me a very sad panda...is there any way arund this? thanks again dudee.

So I just did some testing.......your totaly right.....I can put my dre beats into the gamepad, and egt sound ONLY when the gamepad is not on display....which is literally the dumbest thing ive ever heard.....absolutely ludcirous.......does anybody know if i get a wii u officialy headset by triton etc is it the same thing? or can I have the gamepad working while I play?

if your using the gamepad and tv and headphones, then just the voice chat is used through the gamepad...the sound from the tv. if you just want to use the gamepad..then you would display everything on the gamepad, so sound would just come through that...you can still use headphones for chat aswel.
