Hey guys new to the forums......



So, after the press conference I was really the fence about WII U, but after days of research I've come to the conclusion that WII U looks absolutely insanely awesome, and it is an extremely viable option if you are a serious gamer, but also just love Mario bros, zelda, an Nintendo in general. I really think with the pro controller it's going to garner so many of the 360ites, and ps3ers, aka ME, and have them hooked with the WII U.

Anywho, so yesterday morning I decided I needed to have this system, so I came on these boards and saw that someone posted that GameStop and best buy were sold out nationwide. I was devastated. I called, and Today, you can't even order the basic edition. Devastating news for me.


I looked everywhere, and it turns out Toys R Us is doing presales, and the one I went to, only had 4 presales of the deluxe already.


Just looking out for the guys who are still looking to preorder.......TRY TOYS R US QUICKLY!!!!

I got chills when I saw the first hd Mario trailer ever. On top of that, I can finally revert back to Nintendo, and not have to use a freakin numbchuck and get out of my seat and move around. I can sit right in my comfy chair, use my pro controller, and play all the classic nintendos like Mario Zelda etc in hd, and love every second of it.

Does anybody know if you can use the pro controller for super Mario U?

The Wii Mote is perfect for a 2D side scrolling mario game. I want 2 pro controllers for 2K13 for sure tho since I'm not gonna get that game for my PS3

Yeah, I think target/walmart/toys r us were the last places to check since in the past they always did first come first serve...when people find out..they will fill up, or a lot of people may just show up not knowing they are doing pre-orders

Yeah good call. I just know the feeling of not being able to get that shinier new toy on Release day, especially when it's something as huge as the WII U.....i dunno about you guys, but I'm already losing sleep over this bad boy......any way to help people get it I'm down......like bill said, definitely try target, Walmart etc.....toys r us definitely still has presales also.

I called up EBGames (Australia) today and asked the minimum preorder deposit for the deluxe ($50, system costs $428 here which is surprisingly cheap for us, was expecting 600 myself.) I asked if they were running out and she said it's probable that I would be able to get one, but the deadline is a week before release. They don't seem to be selling out here, good news for me.

Pokey- I gottaaaa get my hands on Mario u, black ops, I believe Rayman is out on release day, if it is, definitely Rayman......definitely a pro controller....and Nintendo land with the deluxe edition.....that's what I'm thinkin right now....what about u guys?

I disagree with your mindset.
1. mario and zeldo = videogames. Nothing doing, they are what most people think of when someone says videogames. They do not need to be in their own classification. They are just some of the best videogames we've ever had.
2. who cares if drones and bots come over to nintendo's console, that'll only end in people calling others gay and whatnot over the console's voicechat.

I totally agree......but it's nice that someone like me....who is obsessed with nintendos exclusives, and grew up in the n64 era, can get this system and also be able to utilize games like black ops to its full potential with a pro controller, just like a 360 or ps3. Thats all I'm trying to say. It really is a best of both worlds console, or appears to be.

It would always kill me when I didn't have wii to play the new Zelda's and Mario's when they came out. I just wasn't into the whole motion thing, so I stuck with my 360.... This is appearing to be a great great console for someone like me.

I went in Friday afternoon to GameStop and was a little upset to hear that Deluxe models pre-orders were gone. After reading the news, I went back Saturday morning and just pre-ordered the Standard. I traded in my Wii + Games for $100, but I only put the minimum $25 towards the pre-order. I ordered all my launch games on Amazon (Zombi U, Mario U), and ordered my Pro controller from Newegg. I also secured a Deluxe pre-order from ToysRUs. If that one comes through from TRU, I will just cancel or sell the Standard one from GameStop.

If Newegg or Amazon open up pre-orders, I will cancel all my above plans and just order everything from them.

You did preorder it through them right? I did the same, but does that not guarantee me a console on release day?

Toys R Us just sold out of both bundles

WOWW. This gives me chills. I decided early yesterday morning I was completely down, and head over heels for WII U. Then, I looked on the forums and saw that best buy and gamestop were already sold out.

I then proceeded to panic.

Quickly made a call to toys R us, and they said they still had deluxes, so I left immediately and went to the story. Got my deluxe preorder in at around 4ish yesterday afternoon.

Cannot believe they sold out later that night

Just checked on the TRU website. It says: "check back soon to preorder!" Im assuming that means, we dont have any left?

im totally new to the bayonetta world, but people seem to be obsessed with it. Whats the deal with this game? The only video I can find on it, doesnt really have any information or gameplay in it. What is this game about/type of game etc.....Thanks!

Looking into all possible launch titles. I was just checkin out Darksiders. It looks pretty legit, but I don't know much about it. Can someone shed some light on this game? Good bad? What type of game etc? Thanks!!

It's like Zelda with Prince of Persia exploration and GoW combat. It's gotten some fantastic reviews and some awful ones. I'm definitely getting it, because it looks amazing. Here's my favorite trailer:

I put down a preorder here in AUS, Only the basic model as i dont really see the extra value in the more expensive one.

Lol deluxe is gonna be sick dude! I'm lovin the black color, not too mention, nintdo land included in the package which to me, is the pinnacle hangin out with your friends game, and also much much more memory. But hey, to each their own!

I definitely preorder deluxe, and am officially losing sleep over this system. Only tng on my mind, and it's still so far away.

I did a quick search and it appears that hardly anybody is actually truly excited for this game and that not many people would buy it if it weren't a pack in title.

Right there with you. I just watched all the mini game trailers. It reminds me of n64 days multiplayer. Not very solid by yourselves, but looks like a tonne of fun with your buds. Very excited for this one.

I am really excited about NintendoLand now, due to the recent reveals of the game.The graphics look great, and it packed in with the Wii U deluxe edition with the other 2 accessory for the extra 50 bucks. It seems looks like a great game for multiplayer with my favorite being Metroid Blast.

I just watched numerous videos and trailers for Zombie U, and although it is kind of upsetting to not have that MP replay value, if the game is lengthy and time consuming, it will be well worth the 60 beans. This game looks straight up legitttttt. I was scared just watching the trailer. Cant imagine playing this game late at night with the lights off. Gamepad is gonna be insane with Zombie.

Does anybody know if the Triton AX Pro's will be compatible with Wii U? Ive got a pair of these, and didnt think they would work, but someone mentioned the A40s would work so it cant be that different can it?

From what I understand is that the AX Pros are a true 5.1 headset, so you have 4 drivers in each cup, it comes with 3 jacks (Well I know EU ones are always bundled with PC jacks, but i read somewhere the american console versions never did), and I believe you should be able to use the jack for the center speaker, it wont sound as great because of the smaller driver size and it being in stereo but it's very much possible for it to work, just that you need the QD connector that has the 3 analog jacks.

appreciate the feedback dude. So what your saying is that it definitely will be connectable to the gamepad or pro controller, but the problem would be that I wouldnt be getting the full effect of the 5.1 surround?

If that for whatever reason doesn't work out, then Skyrim.....and teaching......and back to Skyrim for endless amounts of time.

To me, the launch isn't incredible, but there is a lot to be excited about. I think NSMBU will shock some people. I'm definitely getting it.

I think no matter what it will be a decent launch, but has the potential to be an incredible launch if zombie u turns to be a good title. I'm definitely getting zombie u on launch, but I have such mixed feelings, and its so hard for to tell if this game is gona rock out or flop. To me though, zombie u has the potential to make this a great great launch.

So, here's the deal....preorders all good too go....but I clearly am freakin out waiting another 59 days, so I'm looking to maximize my time and money now etc...


GameStop is offering 130 for my ps3 and I have a couple options.....I could either

A. Go grab a wii for 150 which comes with super Mario, and a wii mote, and a numbchuck. This gets me accustomed to some Wii traditional gameplay, while also grabbing me a wii mote and numbchuck.

B. trade it in towards pro controller, and games( keep in mind I will definitely be getting a pro controller either way plus games. This won't change what I'm getting on launch day.)

The wii mote and numbchuck is 60 bucks, so if I go grab a Wii, I do save money in that sense. But my main issue is this,

The deluxe bundle doesn't come with a wii mote or numbchuck. If I know I'm going to get a pro controller neway, should I even bother grabbing a wii mote and numbchuck?

What are the differences between the pro controller and the wii mote?

Any feedback would be great. Thanks guys.
