#115150 PsVita Discontinue Year

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 05 October 2012 - 08:40 AM in General Gaming

There is no way in Hell that Sony will discontinue the Vita....they have far too much at stake. People forget that Sony had a horrible time moving PS3's in it's first year too. Now it has practically caught the 360 after spotting it a one year lead. I don't understand all the hate on the game library either. I have the Chinese/English version of Ragnarok Odyssey(my favorite handheld game ever), MLB the Show(highly underrated handheld sports game), Mortal Kombat(best handheld fighting game ever imo), Sound Shapes(totally original platformer), Super Stardust Delta(best twin stick shooter ever), Mutant Blob(another original and fun platformer), and of couse Little Big Planet Vita(the best and flawless LBP version yet.) These have kept me busy since the day I bought the thing, so much so that I have not even turned on my 3DS since. There is a lot of good stuff in the pipeline too......AC:Liberation, CoD, Soul Sacrifice, PSAS Royal Rumble Crossplay, Killzone, and Sly Cooper. That is a ton of gaming goodness right there, and that is not even mentioning all of the other Sony exclusives that are probably in the works....games like Ratchet and Clank, Gran Turismo, God of War, and Infamous. I'm sure some of those are in the works. I do think that Sony needs to make a better effort on the third party front though. I'm not sure why they would not try to influence Activision's decision to give CoD Vita to Nihilistic. That was really dumb considering how much that game could have influenced Xmas sales. I also think that they would be very wise to get in touch with Randy Pitchford of Gearbox about his inquiries of Borderlands 2 on Vita. That would be huge. I never thought that the Vita would be able to take the 3DS in sales, but I do think that Sony can sell millions of Vita's if they find a way to distinguish the platform better than they have already.

#115146 Launch day: What are you buying?

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 05 October 2012 - 08:19 AM in Wii U Hardware

I already have the Walmart deluxe bundle pre-ordered. It also comes with one game of your choice(Zombi U) besides Nintendoland of course and a pro controller. I also pre-ordered NSMBU. Even though that one doesn't look particularly ground breaking I figure that if the Big N is launching with Mario I have to support it. I am tossing around then idea of holding off on the PS3 version of AC III, and grabbing that one too depending on reviews.

#114912 WiiTalkUListen: What game questions do U have?

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 04 October 2012 - 08:58 AM in Wii U Games and Software

What are your impressions of Zombi U? More specifically was it true when the developers said that they were less concerned with turning the game into a Wii U tech demo, and more concerned with making a game that is fun and atmospheric without over relying on the features that make the Wii U stand out from current gen consoles?

#114630 Concern over the growing list of cancellation/not in development

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 03 October 2012 - 08:32 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I am sort of with you on that the whole reason I am so interested in what games are and are not coming is I intended the wii u to replace the 360 in my house.Doesnt matter that I will hold onto it now it wont affect me getting the wii u.At least it looks a lot better for mature games so far than the original wii

Yeah for me the 360 is just a Halo Box. With the new Halo coming out in a month it is going to be a long long time before MS has an exclusive that I'm interested in.

And that's why Nintendo developed the wii u with next gen power, signed up an enormous amount of developers (and continues to), and why they have revamped their corporate policy concerning competing with third parties.

The gcn/wii third party situation is history.
This will be the snes era all over again.

I certainly hope you are right, and it really does look a whole lot more promising than when the GCN and Wii were released. I could probably never skip the next gen Playstation because there are just too many Sony exclusives that I love, but I would not mind kicking the next gen Xbox to the curb.

#114417 Concern over the growing list of cancellation/not in development

Don't take it personally man. I have gotten the same flaming on here for no good reason. Here is how I look at it, and of course it is subject to change after I see how things shake out. I have always bought my Nintendo consoles for their first party offerings with little or no expectation of a strong third party showing. This time around I was really shocked to see a few mature titles like Mass Effect, Zombi U, Batman, and AC III on the launch list. That ias actually like gravy for me for a Nintendo console, but if I was only going to buy one next gen console, and I was wanting to get all the big third party offerings I would pass on the Wii U based on my past experience with Nintendo.

#114399 Thinking about getting Monster Hunter 3 Tri to play on Wii U -- Thoughts?

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 02 October 2012 - 11:17 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Definitely wait for Ultimate. It is also going to have a crossplay component with the 3DS version. If you are really liking the game you can pick it up on 3DS also, and continue your adventure from your Wii U save point for some on the go hunting.

#112642 Games it seems like we won't be getting and should

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 25 September 2012 - 11:47 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I think there still might be hope for Bethesda to create something for the Wii U if it does better than what they are expecting. They seem to doubt it's selling potential.

All they have to do is look at the preorder situation to know that the thing is going to sell. For now I just don't see it as a good fit. If the Wii U can shed the kiddie stigma that Nintendo has battled seemingly for its entire existence then maybe something could happen down the line.

#111000 Sleeper hit and bust of the launch lineup

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 21 September 2012 - 10:18 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Go away. Please. The Earth doesn't need you. Oh...and no.

You won't get rid of me that easily....my work is not done until I have gotten rid of every prepubescent internet fire starter that is out there hiding behind their keyboard. See that the Earth technically does need me.

Get lost.

What's wrong kiddo? Someone steal your lunch money? Proactive not clearing your face up?

#110971 ZombiU: What do U think?

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 21 September 2012 - 08:54 AM in Wii U Games and Software

It better be good since I preordered it. Seriously, even if the game has a little repetition with the starting weapon I don't think it will be a dealbreaker. Look at Dead Island. It felt like all you did for hours upon hours was beat Zombies with melee weapons, and it was still fun. All of the videos have stressed that there is plenty of exploration to be done, so I cannot imagine that it will be totally linear either.

It's a sensitive topic. Don't worry about, man. :)

Thanks bro.....unfortunately you have to have thick skin in internet forums sometimes. These type of responses just come with the territory.

Can you read? I said I still like the game.

Uh oh you are one of those guys.....sorry I bothered to respond to you. Just making conversation not confrontation.

#110479 Question about the pro controller

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 September 2012 - 11:08 AM in Wii U Hardware

Thanks folks...I did also just read that it has a rechargeable battery that lasts 80 hours on a single charge. That is pretty awesome news.

#110455 Question about the pro controller

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 September 2012 - 10:20 AM in Wii U Hardware

Sorry if this has been asked prior. Does anyone know if the Wii U will have traditional controller ports for the pro controller?

#110450 What 3DS Game is Better?

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 September 2012 - 10:07 AM in General Gaming

Here is another vote for Kid Icarus. It is easily the most unique game on the 3DS. Since I got my Vita the 3DS just collects dust...except for KI:U.

#110440 Sleeper hit and bust of the launch lineup

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 September 2012 - 09:51 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Bomb: ZombiU (I still like the game, but could this be another Red Steel?)

I don't think so. All of the previews and gameplay videos look absolutely stellar. Besides wasn't it the controls that ruined Red Steel? If anything the tablet looks to really enhance the Zombi U experience without going overboard. It just looks like it controls like your standard FPS with the tablet making life easier.

#110398 Sleeper hit and bust of the launch lineup

Sleeper hit: Rayman Legends or NSMBU
Bust: NintendoLand

Nintendoland? How come? It looks like a blast.

#110387 Sleeper hit and bust of the launch lineup

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 September 2012 - 06:35 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I thought it might be interesting to start a prediction topic about the Wii U launch lineup. What does everyone think will be the sleeper hit of the lineup, and then conversely which title that we now expect to do well will bomb? For my sleeper hit I am going with Nintendoland. After watching trailers for all of the games within the game I came away totally impressed. It really looks like there is a ton of meat there that will keep people busy for quite some time after launch. Also, the multiplayer aspects of some of those titles are really reminding me of the multiplayer that was present in many of the old school Nintendo games. I think that people are really going to latch onto that, and the fun factor looks to be through the roof.

As far as the bomb goes i will go with Zombi U. I'm not going with that one because I think it will be a bad game though. From everything that i have read the game looks incredibly difficult, and I just don't think that it will appeal to most gamers. For me though it has become my most anticipated game of the Fall/Winter right along side Halo 4, and that is really saying a ton.

#110381 Games it seems like we won't be getting and should

I am going to go with Borderlands 2, and anything by Bethesda.

#110380 favorite non Nintendo games

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 September 2012 - 06:14 AM in General Gaming

Keeping it reasonably current I would have to go with The Witcher 2, God of War 3, and Halo Reach. Those are my alltime favorite RPG, 3rd person action, and FPS respectively.

#110379 What is your favorite gaming system?

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 September 2012 - 06:07 AM in General Gaming

I'd have to say the PS2 hands down followed by the N64.

#110378 Hey All

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 September 2012 - 06:02 AM in Introduction Central

I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. I just preordered a Wii U on Monday along with Zombi U and NSMBU. Zombi U and the prospect of cross play of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate were the tipping points for the purchase, and that probably gives you an idea about the type of gamer that I am. Just so everyone knows I am also an equal opportunity gamer. I have owned practically every major console since the days of the original Nintendo, and right now own a Wii, 360, PS3, 3DS, and a Vita. I can't stand to miss out on any exclusives. At the moment i am playing the Hell out of The Witcher 2, Little Big Planet Vita, Ragnarok Odyssey Vita, and Borderlands 2. I am very excited for the next few months, and have preordered Fifa 13, Halo 4, Playstation Allstars Battle Royale, AC: Liberation, and of course the Wii U.
