#110971 ZombiU: What do U think?

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 21 September 2012 - 08:54 AM in Wii U Games and Software

It better be good since I preordered it. Seriously, even if the game has a little repetition with the starting weapon I don't think it will be a dealbreaker. Look at Dead Island. It felt like all you did for hours upon hours was beat Zombies with melee weapons, and it was still fun. All of the videos have stressed that there is plenty of exploration to be done, so I cannot imagine that it will be totally linear either.

#154369 Zombie U Two, What would you add/change to the Game ?

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 31 December 2012 - 07:39 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Fat people probably won't survive the zombie apocolypse, they are not fast enough.

True true....they could make the fatties good at something though. Maybe they could be better at detecting items without scanning.

But, studies have shown that fat people are more attractive, more intelligent, and of generally higher value as human beings than skinny people. Fat queer women of color, and transgender gay men particularly, are superior in all ways to dominant culture intersectionalities. I can't find the studies, but they're by the BIG, BIG universities. Couldn't make it up.

Hey when did this turn into a discussion about Saints Row the Third lol

I would like to see more variety in the way different survivors perform based on their walk of life. For instance the cop should be a much better shot than the accountant. There should be a fat slob that doesn't excel at anything or an athlete that can run faster and has better endurance than the others. They could get really creative with their characters and we would be more invested in them. Also, there should be more weapons, but not necessarily traditional ones. You should be able to pick up things like screwdrivers or garden tools and use them as melee weapons if you want.

I had been doing well up until having to defend my safe house. That is totally kicking my ass, and I need to figure out a better strategy. The game is not cheap at all, but it will make you look bad if you are not careful.

spoiler

If your stuck there bring to planks use the room they cral into not the hallway when you go in. The room board the doors then they only try to crawl in won't sneak up on you.

Thanks man. I did a restart last night, and i now have some serious inventory to deal with 'em. It's gonna be a bloodbath now.

Crazy that part was easy to me. Just kept running and hiting. Try not to get back into a wall. Also have the vol up so you can hear wherethey are coming from.

And a side note it seems like 25mins is my top time for living lol.
I die on simple stuff. Thats why i try to stay away from walls.
Almost @ buckingham tho (lol i know thats not spelled right).

Great game tho. Just cant play it all the time. Gotta be awake n focus.
While i can play ever other game half sleep lol.

I just watched a 5 minute video of a guy taking out that mission in 5 minutes. The thing is that he was taking out Zombies with two hits of the cricket bat, and seemed to have a limitless supply of ammo. I did a search and found out that there is an ammo glitch early in the game which explains that one. I figure that he was also probably playing on chicken mode since the quickest I have ever killed a standing zombie was with three hits, and the survivor was a cop lol

Beat the game finally. It's safe to lead them to a spot they have to crawl under to get you. They are on the ground and exposed to one hit kills.

I know the spot that you are talking about, and I had one sneak up on me and kill me from behind while I was spamming that spot. It could have been a fluke though. I'm gonna try again.

#135278 zombi U review from ign

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 21 November 2012 - 05:48 AM in Wii U Games and Software

After playing ZombiU last night for a couple of hours I can safely say that it is easily my favorite game on the U. When I thought about that Gamespot review while I was playing it seriously pissed me off to the point that I'm going to write the editor. To pan a launch game that is so totally unique is just really a crying shame.

You can't pick just one:

Reservoir Dogs
The Graduate
Goodfellas
Requiem for a Dream
Fast Times at Ridgemont High

#239565 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 16 August 2013 - 05:19 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I absolutely love this game, and am cherishing my demo play throughs.  I'm not having any trouble pulling off unite combos, and if anyone is having trouble with the controls it is easy just to stay put in the beginning and practice your moves before facing off against actual enemies.  I do have one move that I have yet to be able to execute though.  Does anyone have a sure fire way to execute the unite chain?  I get the sword every time I try.

Had twenty mins playing this and tbh I'm not sure, seems to be about mashing buttons and following a set path, will give it another go later, sound is good, graphics are nothing to shout about animation wise but the art style looks fresh out of a comic.

Watch this and I doubt that you will worry about repetition

.

I'm absolutely speechless and that rarely happens

I'm more hyped about this now then Donkey kong country or 3D world. This game looks so unique and ridiculously good that... Gah I WANT IT!!!

I'm now more hyped for this than Grand Theft Auto lol

#121054 Will fifa 14 on wii u be the same as xbox360/ps3 versions?

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 24 October 2012 - 05:28 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I think in that, in terms of gameplay features, the WiiU will get the current game engine for FIFA 14. The big question will be whether Nintendo is able to inspire enough confidence in it's online strategy to enable EA to include Ultimate Team.

The only thing that I get out of that article is that EA is lazy, and that they had their PR guy put a spin on his response.

#114912 WiiTalkUListen: What game questions do U have?

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 04 October 2012 - 08:58 AM in Wii U Games and Software

What are your impressions of Zombi U? More specifically was it true when the developers said that they were less concerned with turning the game into a Wii U tech demo, and more concerned with making a game that is fun and atmospheric without over relying on the features that make the Wii U stand out from current gen consoles?

#121056 Wii U Wishlist

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 24 October 2012 - 05:41 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I would love to see a proper F Zero game, and I actually think that one is possible. As far as my off the beaten path wish here it goes. I would like to see Silicon Knights revive Eternal Darkness and turn it into a full blown RPG in the same vane as Dark Souls. Imagine a brutally difficult action RPG with insanity effects and a killer targetting system.

#202984 Wii U will miss out on Madden NFL for 2013

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 02 May 2013 - 10:48 AM in General Gaming

I could care less about some dumb football game that is nothing but roster updates with a new number on the cover...

...But this better not mean they arent giving me my dumb hockey game that is nothing but roster updates and a new number on the cover :P

I'd give the Wii U getting Halo 5 better odds.

Well, apparently EA made the right decision because absolutely no Wii U fan appears to want a sports game because apparently everyone of them exercises regularly outside and that makes a football game lame. . .For the few of us that realize that there will now be no official NFL game on the Wii U (and realize that's a pretty big group of players that WONT be buying a Wii U) it kind of sucks. I'm not a madden fan, but EA sports games are like Mcdonalds. Every town has them. While Nintendo will survive without third party games (for now) it doesn't bode well to expanding their player base.

Honestly the attitude of some Wii U fans bothers me more than anything else. If a game is coming to the Wii U, "ITS THE DEFINITIVE VERSION!!!! IM TOTALLY GETTING IT!!!" vs if it's not "meh. . .i hate that game anyways". According to most of us the Wii U miraculously doesn't get sucky games and only gets definitive versions. Pretty amazing right? When will we realize that any game coming means more players, better gaming experience, more money for Nintendo = GOOD

You definitely get the severity of this.  News like this certainly hurts Nintendo's chances of getting buyers on board that will only buy one console.  I like Nintendo exclusives best but there are also other multiplats like FIFA, GTA, and Assassins Creed that I also love.  If I could only afford one console I would have a serious dilemma.

#184496 Wii U sells 4 times worse than PS3 and Xbox

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 March 2013 - 06:25 AM in Wii U Hardware

Sounds like he's making some pretty stupid assumptions here, and giving Nintendo too much credit.

That is what I think too.  The guy's entire argument is predicated on the assumption that Ninty's strategy was to release an unfinished product before the competition.  I cannot imagine that being a sane business model.

#177143 Wii U sales fall below PS Vita's for the first time

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 27 February 2013 - 02:02 PM in Wii U Hardware

MH3U was a launch game though. And yea, ports generally aren't gonna boost sales significantly.

Yeah and not that one as it stands. I have a feeling that MH:U's sales are going to be absolutely awful in the West. I'll be shocked if the Wii U gets MH4 in the West. I'm just hoping that people buy MH:U on 3DS, so the West has a chance for localization of MH4 on 3DS.

#134433 Wii U Pro Controller Review

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 November 2012 - 07:02 AM in Wii U Hardware

I'm hearing that Black Ops is best played with the old Wii Classic controller rather than the Pro Controller. Is there any truth to that for those that have tried both?

#150012 Wii U Pro Controller disapointment, needs a fix!

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 December 2012 - 10:58 AM in Wii U Hardware

^ this
Nintendo should focus on the pro controller as their standard controller. They would probably even make more money if they promoted additional gameplay features if you bought a gamepad for the gimmicky perihperal that it should be.

The whole point of having a pro controller was to encourage third parties to bring over their third person adventure games, platformers, and FPS' and Nintendo's most famous franchise is not compatible. People have mother doged about freezes and slow loading times, but to me this is the single biggest oversight on Nintendo's part. Marching to the beat of your own drummer is one thing, but this is the type of thing that really makes me think that the Wii U was a rush job.

#150026 Wii U Pro Controller disapointment, needs a fix!

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 December 2012 - 11:24 AM in Wii U Hardware

I think the person complaining that they had to keep wii motes has nintendos intentions backward. If they plan on using similar controls on WII U (and duh, they did) it was very thoughfull to allow the old wii motes to work on it. Those who upgrade from Wii to Wii-U arent forced to buy mutiple controllers again.

Yeah I get that, and like I said above....backwards compatibility is something that is thoughtful, but it should not be a requirement. I should have the option to keep the Wiimotes or sell them off if I want and games like Mario should have an alternative control scheme that works with the pro controller. There is no other explanation besides sheer laziness, and I'll give you proof. Black Ops 2 is compatible with gamepad, Wiimote/nunchuk, pro controller, and classic controller. The third party developer gives you all of those alternatives, and Nintendo can't give me a Mario that is compatible with the pro controller. No excuses just laziness.

#150009 Wii U Pro Controller disapointment, needs a fix!

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 December 2012 - 10:52 AM in Wii U Hardware

I heard that they are going to port the Wii VC games to the eshop. They should (and better)be compatible with the pro controller then.

That would be nice of them, but none of that matters to me if they don't patch Mario MP. I mean seriously it is a little ridiculous when you have 4 controllers of 3 different varieties sitting in front of your brand new console, and you usually just play two player local co-op.

#150018 Wii U Pro Controller disapointment, needs a fix!

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 December 2012 - 11:10 AM in Wii U Hardware

This thread fails in so many ways.
The prp controller is an add on. And its also not nintendo fault its up to each game dev.
Like zombiu there is no way to use the pro controller, but assassin creed you can easily do it.
Mairo i understand why they didnt. Its because it would throw people off. The wii mote is much simpler to use.

I'm just saying that Nintendo should have set an example for the third party devs by offering an alternative control scheme in Mario that utilizes their own add-on peripheral. Mario requires a direction pad and two buttons. The only add on would have to be for the actions that usually involve shaking the Wiimote. This is a new console and a new experience so why am I forced to use Wii controllers for any of the new games?

If SMBU can't utilize (but it can) the pro controller, I don't have high hopes for the Wii VC games AND future Wii U games like paper mario, donkey kong, etc... I hope Nintendo is aware of this and is willing to fix it for the gamers that care.

Or at least give us the option to use either. Backwards compatibility is supposed to be a luxury, not a requirement.

#150004 Wii U Pro Controller disapointment, needs a fix!

Posted by BobbyRiddle on 20 December 2012 - 10:45 AM in Wii U Hardware

Wiimotes are like $20 now. Pro Controllers are closer to $50.

What was the logic train here again?

I'll give you my logic on this one. I was planning on selling my Wii with several games and two Wiimotes/nunchuks as a package. Well guess what? I get home with my Wii U bundle which included a pro controller, pop in Mario and expect to play some co-op with my GF with my pro controller and gamepad, and then realize that Nintendo's NEW peripherals are not compatible with their NEW version of Mario. Now I must keep my Wiimotes in order to play my favorite mode in Mario. You can sugar coat it all you want, but that is beyond dumb on Nintendo's part.
