#112807 To fans of the classic Phantasy Star games, how did you get into the series?

Posted by NegaScott128 on 25 September 2012 - 07:56 PM in General Gaming

First read about Phantasy Star Zero on the DS in Nintendo Power. Been hooked ever since. Can't wait for PSO2!

#113339 Cave Story on eShop Date

Posted by NegaScott128 on 27 September 2012 - 08:15 PM in General Gaming

This is a game that I am surprised I've yet to play, because I generally love this kind of game. I need to get on this, hopefully with this version.

If you can't get it on 3DS, the PC original is still out there and still free.

#113514 "Wii U's GPGPU Squashes Xbox 360, PS3;Capable Of DirectX 11 Equivalen...

Posted by NegaScott128 on 28 September 2012 - 05:47 PM in Wii U Hardware

Team ninja and every single preview of ng3 wii u.

'Razor's Edge will bring back the popular
limb dismemberment feature from Ninja Gaiden II, which was sorely missed
from the threequal when it hit 360 and PS3 earlier in the year.'

'The Wii U version will also include six brand new weapon types and three new
blends of Ninpo, which you can use to mother dogslap new enemy types in new
battle areas. It's got new stuff, we think is the gist of the press release. There's
also a brand-spanking new character/weapon progression system.'

Clearly, the only reason for this is because the 360/ps3 simply couldnt handle all these features.because.of their weak aged hardware.

m.computerandvideogames.com/351845/ninja-gaiden-3-on-wii-u-is-bigger-bloodier-better/

'Faster, More Intense Battles – Improved enemy AI, the return of
dismemberment, as well as new enemy types and battle areas have been added
for greater variety in battles and increased replay value.'

e3.nintendo.com/games/#/wiiu/ninja-gaiden

Yup, 360/ps3 couldnt have the improved ai because they arent powerful enough, their cpu's are too weak and in order.

No. They took them out because they didn't want to have them in the game. After the massive backlash the original version got, they decided to add these features to the Wii U version to make it better.

Posted by NegaScott128 on 28 September 2012 - 07:19 PM in Wii U Hardware

Why would it make less sense? It makes perfect sense. If you have almost a year to release a new version of a game on new hardware, WHY WOULDN'T you make it better?

Posted by NegaScott128 on 29 September 2012 - 03:33 AM in Wii U Hardware

It wasn't artificially limited; it was an artistic choice. And then they changed it BECAUSE THE FANS WANTED IT. Next you're gonna say the 360/PS3 couldn't handle the new Mass Effect 3 ending because of hardware concerns. It's the same damn thing!

lol. Thank you negascott.

You dont know this, because you havent been following desert punks shenanigans, but my post was a parody of the logic hes been trolling every wii u power thread with, simply in reverse bias.

So, you have, quite to my surprise, rather flawlessly picked up my actual argument.

The missing features have nothing to do with system power, in this case, or in any wii u cpu is weak argument desert punk attempts.

The consequences all belong to other causes, typically time or budget allotment.

Ok. Thanks, man. You really had me worried there! I can never pick up on sarcasm online.

#114939 Still Have Doubts About The Wii U GamePad's Touch Screen?

Posted by NegaScott128 on 04 October 2012 - 11:36 AM in Wii U Hardware

I've read an article in Nintendo Power about Rayman Legends, and Michael Ancel said that the touch screen on the Gamepad has a latency of 1/60 of a second. That's a single frame.

I'm just hoping that it will actually be, y'know... released.

For what it's worth, here's what the DirectX 11 features in Unity 4 are, since that's what started this whole thing:

#116926 What size memory stick?

Posted by NegaScott128 on 12 October 2012 - 11:32 AM in Wii U Hardware

I remember that IGN did a video a while back about upgrading your PS3's HDD to a SSD. Install times were virtually identical, but the download speeds were much faster. I assume the same thing will happen with the Wii U.

#117692 Unnanounced AAA title from Square enix coming to WiiU in 2013

FF14 is already out. It's a sh*tty MMO.

#120722 Upcoming Legend of Zelda on the Wii U

Zelda is like the Green Day of gaming; even when it's not that good, it's still pretty good.

#145277 The Phantom Pain: MGSV?

Posted by NegaScott128 on 07 December 2012 - 08:38 PM in General Gaming

A game called The Phantom Pain was announced at this years' VGAs. Coming from a new studio called Moby Dick ( more on them later), the debut trailer shows someone waking up in a hospital, with a hook on his left hand. It then cuts to gameplay of him crawling around, clearly in pain. He is helped out by some fellow "paitents."

And that's when the demonic unicorn shows up.

The full trailer can be found here: http://kotaku.com/59...ks-very-intense

I think it's a Metal Gear game in disguise. The CEO of Moby Dick Studio is Joakim Mogren, and Joakim us an acronym for Kojima. Mogren also contains the word Ogre, suggesting a tie to Kojima's Project Ogre, which may or may not be a Metal Gear game. It also appears to be running on the FOX Engine, also powering Ground Zeroes, the next Metal Gear game. And, the guy at the end really, REALLY looks like Big Boss. It's just too many coincidences together. Kojima's denying he has any involvement in it, but it's been well established that he's a troll, so...

EDIT: Kotaku link had a few seconds of video missing. This one's got the whole trailer:

#145406 The Phantom Pain: MGSV?

I think it might be Project Ogre. The MGS stuff's a red herring.

#149443 Differences between SMB Wii and SMB Wii U

Posted by NegaScott128 on 18 December 2012 - 06:48 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Is there a big difference between the 2? Are some of the levels the same/different? Thanks.

NSMBU is a completely different game from NSMB Wii: new levels, new world map, different power-ups, etc. It still uses the NSMB Wii physics, look, and sound, but it's still fundamentally a dufferent game.

#149793 Controller used for N64 Virtual Console games?

Posted by NegaScott128 on 19 December 2012 - 07:22 PM in Wii U Games and Software Help

No. The Virtual Console, for the moment at least, runs through the Wii Menu, which locks out all Wii U controllers. You have to use a Classic Controller, because the Wii U dropped Gamecube support. The reasin you can't use a Wiimote is because the N64 controller had mire buttons than the Wiimote and Nunchuck combined.

#149796 This is the silliest response from a developer/producer yet

Posted by NegaScott128 on 19 December 2012 - 07:27 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I think Platinum's smart by doing this. It'd just end up as a lazy port anyway, and coming out of the gate with a bad port would probably reflect badly on Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2.

Not happy about it, but...

#150081 Official XBox 720 and Playstation Omni specs and technical discussions thread

Posted by NegaScott128 on 20 December 2012 - 12:59 PM in General Gaming

Only big advantage I can see the 720 having over the Omni or Wii U is DX11 support, which'll be huge because you can use tessellation and whatnot to get much more detail out of things, while still using the same models as the other versions.

#150168 Whats with the Australian/New Zealand death jokes?

Posted by NegaScott128 on 20 December 2012 - 03:49 PM in The Café

It's a joke about the Mayan Apocalypse. Australia and New Zealand are in another time zone, and are one day ahead of the rest of the world as a result.

#153971 EB Games/GameStop's Shadiness

Posted by NegaScott128 on 30 December 2012 - 10:12 AM in The Café

I feel your pain, man. They told me I didn't need to transfer my data when I upgraded from a 3DS to an XL. They lied. And then sold my original. With all my stuff.

#154622 Retro's Untitled Project? Speculation thread

Posted by NegaScott128 on 31 December 2012 - 05:38 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Well considering the rumors recently and nintendo saying its going to be something we wanted for a LONG time and it would be unexpected I feel that it could be diddy kong racing 2.

What do you think dope or nope?

Nope. It's probably a next-gen Metroid. Maybe not in the Prime series, though. That story's basically wrapped up.
