#185507 Wii U's RAM is slower than PS3/Xbox 360.

Posted by NegaScott128 on 23 March 2013 - 04:15 AM in Wii U Hardware

Not only that, but having to cater to the consoles has held gaming tech back significantly. I don't think most games will look much better on the new consoles than they did on the old ones; not because of power, but because most engines are still optimized for older consoles.

#199806 Why are people still ripping on the Wii U even after the X demo?

ps4 should be Backward Compatibility for ps3 playable discs

Your point?

#181614 is it true the wii u will be destroyed by ps4?

Really, if you think about it, the only thing Sony ever did that was unique was the PS Eye camera back on the PS2. It was Kinect before Kinect was lame.

that ps eye camera on ps3 not ps2 , kinect wasnt lame much supior to ps3 and wii, kinect give the user to play games without use of game controlers, just didnt work well out when u on fps, kinect is hard to handle when playing an fps game

http://en.wikipedia....layStation_Eye,

I meant EyeToy. Kinect sucked for EVERY type of game, since there was at least a second of lag with almost every game made for it (Child of Eden being the only exception that comes to mind), let alone the problems that come with only having your body as an input device.

Why would it make less sense? It makes perfect sense. If you have almost a year to release a new version of a game on new hardware, WHY WOULDN'T you make it better?

It wasn't artificially limited; it was an artistic choice. And then they changed it BECAUSE THE FANS WANTED IT. Next you're gonna say the 360/PS3 couldn't handle the new Mass Effect 3 ending because of hardware concerns. It's the same damn thing!

Team ninja and every single preview of ng3 wii u.

'Razor's Edge will bring back the popular
limb dismemberment feature from Ninja Gaiden II, which was sorely missed
from the threequal when it hit 360 and PS3 earlier in the year.'

'The Wii U version will also include six brand new weapon types and three new
blends of Ninpo, which you can use to mother dogslap new enemy types in new
battle areas. It's got new stuff, we think is the gist of the press release. There's
also a brand-spanking new character/weapon progression system.'

Clearly, the only reason for this is because the 360/ps3 simply couldnt handle all these features.because.of their weak aged hardware.

m.computerandvideogames.com/351845/ninja-gaiden-3-on-wii-u-is-bigger-bloodier-better/

'Faster, More Intense Battles – Improved enemy AI, the return of
dismemberment, as well as new enemy types and battle areas have been added
for greater variety in battles and increased replay value.'

e3.nintendo.com/games/#/wiiu/ninja-gaiden

Yup, 360/ps3 couldnt have the improved ai because they arent powerful enough, their cpu's are too weak and in order.

No. They took them out because they didn't want to have them in the game. After the massive backlash the original version got, they decided to add these features to the Wii U version to make it better.

lol. Thank you negascott.

You dont know this, because you havent been following desert punks shenanigans, but my post was a parody of the logic hes been trolling every wii u power thread with, simply in reverse bias.

So, you have, quite to my surprise, rather flawlessly picked up my actual argument.

The missing features have nothing to do with system power, in this case, or in any wii u cpu is weak argument desert punk attempts.

The consequences all belong to other causes, typically time or budget allotment.

Ok. Thanks, man. You really had me worried there! I can never pick up on sarcasm online.

For what it's worth, here's what the DirectX 11 features in Unity 4 are, since that's what started this whole thing:

No, Silicon knights has never actually owned the rights.

Why dont you boot it up and check the legal words on the title screen, like who owns the name program and content ;)

Nintendo just filed the fifth extension for the Eternal Darkness Copyright.

Then why was SK working on Eternal Darkness 2 around the same time as X-Men Legends?

You dont know how this stuff works do you?

Silicon knights can work on whatever the hell they want. They can work on halo 5 if they want. They cant SELL IT, unless they get the permission of the copyright/trademark holder.

Which is exactly what sk was trying to do.

Its actually done all the time. Someone did it with halo for the ds to try and make a pitch to ms.

Its called a pitch. They wanted to show it to nintendo to secure a contract for eternal darkness 2.

First of all, there's a button to quote things. If you're on your phone, as I suspect you are, tap the post you want to quote, and then tap the quote button that appears. You may need to scroll down.

Second of all, I did not play the original, or any of the stuff about renewing the copyrights. I read the Kotaku article, and it said something about SK shopping around for publishers. This led me to believe they owned the rights to Eternal Darkness, when they in fact did not.

Thirdly, stop being so condescending and mean. It's not funny. It's not cool. It just makes people hate you, and puts others down.

#174772 Ubisoft confirms Watch Dogs for Wii U

Posted by NegaScott128 on 23 February 2013 - 05:01 AM in Wii U Games and Software

My bet is that it'll be more or less the PS3/360 versions, but with the models and textures of the PC/PS4/720 versions.

#183260 Worry about the Wii U? Read this

Only thing they really could have fixed were any heating issues, of which I have heard none. Either way, launching in November got them Christmas sales, which is far more important to a business than specs.

i do somewhat agree, nintendo did push to have the consul released early, and ended up with a premature release. but that early release would help gain a edge on PS4/720. but if they released 3 months later, ninty will probly take that time to further engineer the consul, increasing quality but losing the early release edge. it would also delay more games as a result do to changing hardware. i am worried if there is a design flaw in the wiiU because it was likly released prematurly.

...What? What makes you think delaying the launch 3 months would fix any hardware problems? Not that I think delaying it wouldn't fix the issue of day-1 updates and bad port jobs. But, launching in the holiday season would help with console sales.

I'd say wait for the PS4/720 prices before doing a price cut. If they're around $500, you don't need one; if they're around $450-400, then consider it; and if they're $350, then totally do it.

im saying nintendo was engenering their consul up to the last minute. a 3 month delay would have added ruffly 3 more months to fine tune the consul, and thus add to its quality(probly add 10-40gflops, or close to teh effective equilivant). that is assuming the delay is early on, if the delay is late then it wouldnt really help at all.

No! You can't add more power to the console at the last minute! Besides, launching in the holiday season...

Wait... you said "teh"...

You're a troll, aren't you?

#169285 over before it began..

Posted by NegaScott128 on 09 February 2013 - 01:25 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Far as I can tell, the only project DICE had for Wii U was BF3, which was never heard from again after about 5 seconds of screentime at E3 2011 (which was just PC footage anyway). Anything else is up for grabs, but I feel this article is full of carp; console's only been out for a few months, not nearly the same install base the PS3/360 has now (way better than they had at this point in their lives, though) and he's surprised a game doesn't sell millions of copies. I'm sorry, but what the hell did you expect?

Personally, I think the Wii U will do fine. It's got sone great games looking ahead, plenty of time to build up a sizable install base before the other systems show up, and will undoubtably be the cheapest next-gen system available for a couple years, which means more sales, and thus more third-party support.

#150081 Official XBox 720 and Playstation Omni specs and technical discussions thread

Posted by NegaScott128 on 20 December 2012 - 12:59 PM in General Gaming

Only big advantage I can see the 720 having over the Omni or Wii U is DX11 support, which'll be huge because you can use tessellation and whatnot to get much more detail out of things, while still using the same models as the other versions.

#187274 Confirmed: Wii U GPU only supports up to DX10 level graphics

This is for the FREE unity engine, not necessarily the wii u gpu.

Can't make Wii U games with the free version. But it is relatively low-cost.

#183530 Wii U sells 4 times worse than PS3 and Xbox

Posted by NegaScott128 on 17 March 2013 - 03:52 AM in Wii U Hardware

Yeah, a new ND would definitely help. It would help solve the number one problem at last year's E3: we already knew about all the games beforehand.

#180341 Producer believes LEGO City is Wii U’s best game, will sell consoles?

Posted by NegaScott128 on 07 March 2013 - 02:31 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Anyone know the resolution for Lego City? I was watching a interview video on youtube, and they said the animation looks great in 1080p. Not sure if that means 1080p native or not. If it is 1080p native, hopefully the framerate holds up.

No idea, though if I had to guess, I think it's around 720p60 or 1080p30. Not sure, though.
