Under the hashtag #yesallwomen, a litany of complaints and outrages have swept across the Twittersphere. Within hours, the hashtag was trending internationally. Women raged against the violence that was to threaten them and keep them in line; men (for the most part) offered their solidarity and support, while urging others to read the rolling timeline of tweets regardless of how challenging and uncomfortable they might prove to be.
One of the most retweeted pictures under the #yesallwomen tag was a meme that’s been floating around for some time now. It perfectly illustrates the troubling cognitive dissonance that comes with according value to a woman based on her male connections.
Smh, since they got #killallmen trending.

Cartoon Network is bringing back an updated version of “The Powerpuff Girls” in 2016, chief content officer Rob Sorcher announced at the 2014 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas on Monday.
The original series, following the adventures of Professor Utonium's Buttercup, Blossom and Bubbles as they save the city of Townsville from destruction, ran for six seasons between 1998 and 2005, winning two Emmy Awards.
The girls returned earlier this year for a successful special, which featured Ringo Starr; next, they will appear in a rebooted TV series.
“Powerpuff Girls,” created by Craig McCracken and powered by sugar, spice and Chemical X, is one of Cartoon Network's top-grossing brands to date, with more than $2.5 billion in retail sales.
“As the original ambassador of ‘girl power,’ The Powerpuff Girls brand continues to resonate with people of all ages and there is tremendous excitement around introducing Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup to a new generation,” said Pete Yoder, vice president of consumer products for North America, Cartoon Network Enterprises. “With proven success and great content plans in place, there's so much potential that we're looking forward to explore with our licensing partners in the coming weeks.”http://www.chicagotr...0,3173422.story
Hopefully they'll ditch the horrible art style.

#280262 10 Comic Book DEATHS That (Mostly) Still Matter

Deaths with ImpactLet's face it, comic book readers — death in the fantastical world of superhero comic books is somewhat akin to real world jury duty.
It's certainly annoying and inconvenient, and something everybody is eventually called to do (sometimes even more than once). But it's temporary at best — resulting in only minor upheaval of your life — and sooner or later after the service has been performed you're released and things are back to normal before you know it.Quite often, the writing is on the wall for superheroes and their loved ones - after all, they are literally placing themselves in mortal danger on a regular basis. Marvel’s entire next event starts with a death - the death of Uatu the Watcher, a being who knows all of the universe’s secrets. Meanwhile, over on the DC side of things, the future of Nightwing is anything but certain in the pages of Forever Evil. Of course, other members of the Bat-Family have died and come back, so it wouldn't be too big a deal if Grayson took a probably-temporary dirt nap.Still, once every blue area of the moon, whether you perceive a return to the mortal plane is in the offing or not, a comic book death sticks with you. These are instances that can define a character, an era, or even become a pop-cultural touchstone. Here is our countdown of 10 Comic Books Deaths That (Mostly) Still Matter.

Criminal and psychological experts say they’d be surprised if investigators didn’t find evidence of psychological problems in either of the 12-year-old Wisconsin girls who allegedly tried to stab their friend to death over the weekend.
The girls told police they attacked their friend in the woods to please an internet meme called Slender Man, a fictional character who hunts children and has no face, according to the Associated Press.
The girls thought if they killed their friend, Slender Man would reveal himself, and they could prove he was real, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

MURRYSVILLE, Pennsylvania (CNN) — [Breaking news report 6:56 p.m. ET]
The Pennsylvania school stabbings suspect is 16-year-old Alex Hribal, according to court documents obtained by CNN Wednesday.
[Original story published at 5:45 p.m. ET]
Source: Teen accused in stabbing rampage in Pa. school charged as adult
A teenage boy wielding two kitchen knives went on a stabbing rampage at his high school in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, early Wednesday, before being tackled by an assistant principal, authorities said.
Twenty students and a security officer at Franklin Regional Senior High School were injured in the attack, District Attorney John Peck told reporters.
As authorities work to piece together a possible motive, the accused attacker — a 16-year-old sophomore — has been arraigned by a Pennsylvanian magistrate, said Dan Stevens, deputy emergency management coordinator for Westmoreland County.
The teen has been charged as an adult, a source close to the investigation told CNN. The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said he has been charged with attempted homicide.
A doctor who treated six of the victims, primarily teens, said most initially did not know what happened.
“They just felt pain and noticed they were bleeding,” Dr. Timothy VanFleet, chief of emergency medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, told CNN.
“Almost all of them said they didn’t see anyone coming at them. It apparently was a crowded hallway and they were going about their business, and then just felt pain and started bleeding.”
‘Don’t know what I got going down’
The carnage began shortly before the start of classes, when an attacker began stabbing students in a crowded hallway and then went from classroom to classroom.
Student Matt DeCesare was outside the school when he heard a fire alarm ring and then saw two students come out of the school covered in blood.
Then he saw teachers running into the building and pulling “a couple of more students out,” he told CNN. The students had been stabbed.
To stanch the bleeding, the teachers asked the students for their hoodies.
“We all took our hoodies off and handed them to the teachers to use as tourniquets to stop the bleeding,” he said.
Recordings of emergency calls released in the wake of the attack provide a soundtrack of sorts to the terror and chaos that played out inside the school.
“I don’t know what I got going down at school here but I need some units here ASAP,” one officer can be heard saying.
Minutes later in another call, another official, breathlessly, can be heard detailing casualties: “About 14 patients right now.”
Then another call for help. “Be advised inside the school we have multiple stab victims,” one of the officers said. “So bring in EMS from wherever you can get them.
‘Saw the kid who stabbing people’
Student Mia Meixner was standing at her locker.
“I heard a big commotion like behind my back,” she told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “And I turned around and I saw two kids on the ground.”
She thought a fight had broken out, but then she saw blood.
“I saw the kid who was stabbing people get up and run away,” she said.
Meixner said she saw three students help a bleeding freshman, saying they were taking him to a nurse. Then she saw a senior girl she knew.
“She was standing by the cafeteria doors. … She was gushing blood down her arm.”
Meixner dropped her books and went to help the girl.
“I started hearing a stampede of students coming down from the other end of the hall, saying ‘Get out, we need to leave, go, there’s a kid with a knife.’ Then a teacher came over to me and the girl I was trying to help. And she said she would handle the girl and that I should run out. So then I just ran out of the school and tried to get out as soon as possible.”
Blitzer asked whether the stabbing suspect said anything.
“No. He was very quiet. He just was kind of doing it,” Meixner answered. “And he had this, like, look on his face that he was just crazy and he was just running around just stabbing whoever was in his way.”
She said she didn’t know the boy, but he had been in a lot of her classes. “He kept to himself a lot,” she said. “He didn’t have that many friends that I know of, but I also don’t know of him getting bullied that much. I actually never heard of him getting bullied. He just was kind of shy and didn’t talk to many people.”
Tackled by an assistant principal
Assistant Principal Sam King is being credited with bringing the carnage to an end.
King tackled the teen, Peck told reporters. A school resource officer was able to handcuff the suspect, Police Chief Thomas Seefeld said.
The accused teen, who authorities have declined to immediately identify, was being treated for injuries to his hands, the chief said.
Mark Drear, vice president of the security company for the school, said one of his officers was stabbed. The school had three security officers and a full-time police officer Wednesday morning, he said.
Stevens identified the police officer as William “Buzz” Yakshe, saying that he helped subdue the suspect. Yakshe is “doing fine,” Stevens said. “He’s more upset than anything else over what happened, because these are his kids.”
A fire alarm that was pulled during the attack probably helped get more people out of the school during an evacuation order, Seefeld said. Students were running everywhere and there was “chaos and panic.”
At one point, a female student applied pressure to the wounds of one of the male victims, possibly helping to save his life, said Dr. Mark Rubino, chief medical officer at Forbes Regional Hospital in nearby Monroeville, Pennsylvania, where seven teenagers and one adult were taken.
That male teen helped by a fellow student was one of three teens taken into surgery at Forbes.
The adult being treated there was not stabbed; he was suffering from an unspecified medical condition, according to hospital officials.
Some injuries life-threatening
The teens’ injuries are “quite serious,” and “some are clearly life-threatening,” said Dr. Chris Kaufmann of Forbes Regional.
They were stabbed in their torso, abdomen, chest and back areas, and two people were sent to surgery immediately after arriving, he said. Those two patients had low blood pressure, he said.
The teens who are undergoing surgery suffered knife wounds, most to the lower abdomen, Rubino said.
Physicians are evaluating other patients to see if they need surgery as well, Kaufmann said.
Rubino said he expects all the teens to live, noting that the strength of their youth gives them a greater chance of survival. But “I do want to stress the critical nature of their injuries,” he cautioned.
Eleven victims were taken to four University of Pittsburgh Medical Center hospitals, UPMC spokesman Cindy McGrath said. One was sent to UPMC Presbyterian; four were taken to Children’s Hospital; one was taken to UPMC Mercy; and five were taken to UPMC East. She did not have ages or conditions of the victims.

The guy that teased/leaked Devil's Third being a WiiU exclusive said in a gameblog E3 reaction video that he knew back then that there were 3 similar exclusives (not necessarily violent, but originally multiplat/not exclusive) that were going to be announced this year.
Here's the link , comes at around 8:10 .
I'm french, and even if I'm sure of what he just said, and that gameblog leaked good things in the past (mario kart bundle, sales numbers in france, etc), they also sometimes do this kind of thing to get more viewers.
So please understand, don't get too excited, but there may be more coming out of nowhere (like SMTxFE, Hyrule Warriors, and more in random Nintendo Directs).

A friend of “virgin killer” Elliot Rodger has revealed he was addicted to a muscle-building supplement, which could have triggered his anger before his shooting rampage.
Chris Akin, a friend of Rodger, told the Mirror that the Isla Vista murderer started taking the supplement creatine after a mutual friend died in a bodybuilding accident while trying to lift a 550-pound weight.Akin, who used to Skype regularly with Rodger, 22, said he observed a change in his attitude after he began allegedly taking the drug daily.Akin, who lives in Chicago, told the Mirror that Rodger was trying to build muscle mass to attract girls and get over his grief from losing his close friend. While not illegal or a steroid, creatine, an organic acid which is “typically bought in flavored powders and mixed with liquid — increases the body’s ability to produce energy rapidly. With more energy, you can train harder and more often, producing faster results,” Men’sHealth.com reports. It can also be bought and consumed in tablet form.Side effects of creatine can include “weight gain, muscle cramps, muscle strains and pulls, stomach upset, diarrhea, dizziness, high blood pressure, liver dysfunction, and kidney damage,” according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. It is also understood that it can cause mood swings and depression. Bodybuilders have reported getting angry easily and hyper in online forums on the Bodybuilding.com website, where Rodger regularly contributed.

#291203 80% of New York schools report zero incidents of bullying.

Fewer than one in five city schools fessed up to even a single incident of bullying on a new tracking system run by the state proof, advocates say, that Education Department officials and principals have failed to address a dangerous crisis. The Dignity for All Students Act of 2010 requires all city schools report incidents of bullying to a public state database, so that school leaders and education officials can better address the issue. But for the 2012-13 school year, the first year for which data was collected, a whopping 1,378 city schools reported zero incidents of bullying or harassment, including violence-plagued Intermediate School 117 in the Bronx, where police say emotionally disturbed 14-year-old Noel Estevez fatally stabbed his classmate, Timothy Crump, 14, on Wednesday. That’s nearly 80% of city schools reporting not a single incident of bullying or harassment.“They don’t take it seriously when parents come to administrators and teachers saying their child is being bullied,” said Mona Davids, president of the New York City Parents Union. “They’re not taking down the reports. They’re just not.” Maria Estevez said Noel’s father, Felix, spoke to the principal the night before the stabbing to complain about Noel being bullied by Crump, who had previously been suspended for punching another student in the jaw. Efforts to get a safety transfer for Noel failed “The school did nothing,” the boy’s mother told The News. Other schools such as DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx and Manhattan’s Murry Bergtraum High School, where reports of violence and mayhem are commonplace, also failed to report even one example of bullying to the state.Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña said the status quo is unacceptable. “We will redouble our efforts to ensure that our schools accurately report incidents of bullying and that the law fulfills its intent of keeping our children safe, both inside and outside of the classroom,” she said in a statement. At Williamsburg Charter High School, Xavier Diaz, 15, endured bullying starting late in 2013, his father, Richard Diaz said. The dad said he warned school administrators that a student intended to exact revenge on Xavier for a previous beef but that they did nothing. Xavier, who has autism, was beat down on Monday by a group of kids, leaving him bruised and scared to return to school, Richard Diaz, 48, said. “I feel very helpless. You send your child to get an education they should be in a safe environment,” he said.
#274316 90s Console war between Nintendo/Sega being made into a movie

To gamers, the battle of SEGA and Nintendo is something of legend. The video game giant Nintendo being taken on by the underdog SEGA. It’s almost like something out of a movie. So it only makes sense that the publishing industry and Hollywood would jump at the chance to make a book and film about the console wars. It was announced this week that Atlantic Books has acquired the UK rights to the book CONSOLE WARS, written by Blake Harris. The book is described as “a riveting behind-the-scenes business thriller that chronicles how SEGA, a small, scrappy gaming company led by an unlikely visionary, took on the juggernaut Nintendo and revolutionized the video game industry”. So basically The Social Network meets Rocky, and SEGA is the good guy. Atlantic plans to publish CONSOLE WARS: Sega, Nintendo and the Battle that Defined a Generation in August 2014, meanwhile American’s can expect the book to release this May from It Books.
Sony Pictures and Scott Rudin, of Moneyball and The Social Network, are developing a film version of the book, which is to be written and directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg of Knocked Up and Superbad fame. The book’s writer Blake Harris is serving as Executive Producer and has his own version of the story, a documentary, in the works. The news of the film is nothing new, however this is the first time in a while that we’ve heard anything about it. Back in 2012, IGN came across Sony Pictures registering the domain for Console wars the Movie. So in a few years time we may very well see SEGA vs. Nintendo the Movie! Hey, if Facebook gets a movie, SEGA easily deserves one.
Update: Interestingly, this isn’t the first mention of Rogan and Goldberg being attached to a film version of the book. Back in late 2012 their involvement was mentioned in a Facebook post made by Trident Media Group. Despite this, it appears that the news was never picked up and reported elsewhere. That same day, Rogan and Goldberg tweeted about it.

This information comes from person, who works at Nintendo Europe in Germany and prepares few elements for upcoming show. Sorry for my English, it’s not my native language.
Nintendo Digital Event will be something between Nintendo Direct, and classic E3 stage show. This will be something like TV Show hosting by Nintendo executives (Iwata, Shibata, Reggie etc.) and with live audience (most of them will be Nintendo employees).
Nintendo knows, that upcoming E3 is the last moment for saving Wii U, so most of the time, they gonna tell about Wii U games, but of course there will be time for 3DS games too.
They gonna be two biggest stars of the show: new Zelda game, and Smash Bros (especially for Wii U).
WII U
New Zelda game – As they said, Nintendo will finally show us brand new Wii U Zelda. They gonna show us CGI trailer, and also a few minutes of gameplay. It will be true open world Zelda (Elder Scrolls style). It will have two regions, one dark and edgy. Second more colorful, just like Skyward Sword. Game will be playable at E3. Release date: 2015.
Smash Bros Wii U/3DS – They will reveal release dates for both versions (SB Wii U in November). Show more gameplay, and presents all fighters and stages. They will also talk about Smash DLC and NFC Figures.
Monolith Soft X (Xenoworld) – Open world jrpg with story mode and cooperation similar to Monster Hunter Games. You can play it alone with AI companions. Release date winter 2014 in Japan and march 2015 in the west.
Bayonetta 2 – Trailer and release date (fall 2014)
FExSMT/Yarn Yoshi – first trailers and release dates (first half of 2015)
Hyrule Warriors – first trailer, release date is October 2014. Hyrule Warriors is final title.
Fatal Frame/Project Zero – first CGI trailer, “coming soon”
Retro Studios Game – New IP, sci-fi action adventure game, first CGI trailer, “coming soon”
New Miyamoto’s game – Lots of Gamepad and NFC gimmicks.
Mario Party U – Nintendo’s holiday game for casual gamers, classic Mario Party, but with NFC figurines.
Pokken – first trailer, Pokemon fighting game from Namco, 2015
NINTENDO 3DS
Smash Bros – more details about 3DS version
Pokemon Omega Ruby/Apha Saphire – trailer, details about game

Nine-year-old Saneie Masilela has become the world's youngest groom for the second time after remarrying the 62-year-old woman he tied the knot with last year.
Dressed in a silvery tuxedo, baby-faced Saneie clutched the hand of mother-of-five Helen Shabangu - her children are aged between 28- and 38-years-old - as they repeated their vows a year on in front of 100 guests.
The schoolboy says he did it to make the marriage 'official' but other villagers in Ximhungwe in Mpumalanga, South Africa describe it as "sickening".
The ceremony - where guests shared a piece of cake - took place in front of Helen's long-term husband Alfred Shabangu, 66, who was there last year as well.

He said: "My kids and I are happy because we don't have a problem with her marrying the boy - and I don’t care what other people say.”
Both families claim the wedding is simply another 'ritual' after Saneie was told by his dead ancestors to wed last year and his parents forked out £500 for the bride and another £1,000 for the ceremony.
But the schoolboy - the youngest of five children – wanted to follow South African tradition and insisted they have the second ceremony this week to make their marriage official.
