#145847 Benefit of two gamepads?

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 09 December 2012 - 06:29 AM in Wii U Games and Software

No. No game supports 2 gamepads yet. You can't sync 2 to the same Wii U either but future games will allow this & Nintendo will release a firmware update to allow this

#144451 eshop 1 console download rule

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 06 December 2012 - 05:19 AM in Wii U Hardware

I contacted Nintendo about redownloading games purchased from the eshop to a new external HDD this is the reply:

"We can confirm that the entitlement for the game is linked to the console not to the external hard drive. As long as the eShop account is not deleted on the console it is possible to re-download the game on a different hard drive. Re-downloading the game will not restore any saved game data that may of been on the previous hard drive.

We wish you a happy gaming experience."

Never played a Pikmin game before but this looks really nice. What do you actually need to do in this?

#144129 New Update right now?!

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 05 December 2012 - 12:43 PM in Wii U Hardware

All worked fine & I've got everything sorted now & packed away til Christmas :(

I noticed when I registered my Nintendo ID that it says do I want to use an existing one. Does that mean you can now have your account on 2 or more separate consoles rather than being locked to just one?

#144066 No picture or sound through amp

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 05 December 2012 - 12:29 PM in Wii U Hardware

I just got my Wii U today & also have a new Denon amplifier which has HDMI pass through.

My PS3 & Sky HD are connected to my amp via HDMI & then 1 HDMI cable to the TV & I can get picture & sound no problem.

When I connect my Wii U to the last empty HDMI slot, I get nothing at all. I try the PS3 in the same slot & it works fine.

I connect my Wii U to the TV and get picture no problem but I want it to give me picture through the amp so I can get the audio through it too as that is the only way to get uncompressed 5.1 audio.

Anyone got any ideas of settings or anything to check?

Edit: After I downloaded and installed the initial update, I went back to the audio visual settings and it picked it up no problem. Phew!

#144105 New Update right now?!

If you're connecting for the first time today, the update you receive should include the one released yesterday.

Thanks :)

#144102 New Update right now?!

#137458 RUMOR - Second New Super Mario Bros. U update wiping saves

What do the patches actually do to the game? Can't imagine a Mario game needing patched

#134555 List of games that can be played completely on the Wii U pad

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 20 November 2012 - 09:47 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Has anyone got a link for a list of games which can be played exclusively using the pad as the screen, rather than the TV?

Thanks for that!

So it can be played completely on the pad just like Mario?

What extras does this have over the PS3 version?

#133388 NSMBU: The Best Mario Game Since Mario World?

Is it possible to play the game without even switching your TV on?

#133309 DO NOT BUY DIGITAL DOWNLOADS!

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 19 November 2012 - 06:44 AM in Wii U Games and Software

That's shocking! There's so many things I'm reading that make the Wii U seem so backwards :(

#132602 Having fun?

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 18 November 2012 - 03:06 PM in Wii U Hardware

I'm getting mine for Christmas but will be picking it up on 30th. When I get it, I'll be setting it up & getting all the updates, then my wife is taking all my games & remotes away from me to her mums until Christmas, with the Wii U set up with all the cables tidied away etc

It's going to be torture having it sit in front of me for that long :(

#130670 wii component cable compatibility

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 16 November 2012 - 07:19 AM in Wii U Hardware

For a separate speaker yes, but not if you're just having the sound through component and HDMI for picture, as you have to have your TV input set to 1. You can't set it to 2 inputs at the same time on your TV, but on the system you can.

Was hoping it would be like the PS3 where you can have picture through HDMi & audio through a separate connection :( Thanks for the info though!

#130279 wii component cable compatibility

Can you use HDMI & component at the same time? eg HDMI for picture & the red/white part of component for sound through an amp?

#127717 Getting audio from Wii U?

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 11 November 2012 - 02:49 PM in Wii U Hardware

I was hoping it was that easy but the optical out just works for the inbuilt digital tuner. Any HDMI inputs into the TV won't output through optical

#127705 Getting audio from Wii U?

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 11 November 2012 - 02:36 PM in Wii U Hardware

I can get HDMI from the Wii U to TV but no sound through HDMI as the TV has no speakers & amp has no HDMI input.

If the Wii U let you get audio through optical as well as picture through HDMI, like the PS3 & 360, it would be fine but it doesn't appear that it does.

If its not possible to get audio with my set up, I'll be cancelling my preorder :(

Yes.

Component cables are HD.

Thanks, ill order one of them then :D I did use component on the pre HDMI 360. Just wasn't sure if the Wii one would work with Wii U

#127673 Getting audio from Wii U?

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 11 November 2012 - 01:49 PM in Wii U Hardware

That's what I've been thinking of doing. Before trying to get to the back of the TV on the wall I've done a bit of research on the net & it seems on the built in digital tuner supports the optical out & not any connected devices.

My TV has component inputs so I may need to go component rather than HDMI so I can connect the red/white plugs to my amp

#127667 Getting audio from Wii U?

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 11 November 2012 - 01:33 PM in Wii U Hardware

I was hoping to get picture through HDMI & audio using the Wii av cable :(

Will the component Wii cable work with Wii U?

#127646 Getting audio from Wii U?

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 11 November 2012 - 12:27 PM in Wii U Hardware

I didn't pay for the speakers as I run everything through my amp & they were about £200 extra! It's the Kuro PDPLX508D I have. A bit old now but still an excellent TV

I have an optical out on the panel but I couldn't get it to work the last time I tried, although that was about 2 years ago...

I'll need to have a mess around with the connections & try & get it to work as it would be hell of a lot easier than having the 3 optical cables I use just now on a switch to change input, plus another for the Wii U too

#127626 Getting audio from Wii U?

Posted by OneManTagTeam on 11 November 2012 - 12:14 PM in Wii U Hardware

I have a Pioneer Kuro plasma TV which is a panel only (no speakers) & I currently get sound from my PS3, Sky HD & Apple TV using optical connections to my bluray/amp all in one unit.

The amp unit doesn't allow HDMI sound & I notice the Wii U only comes with a HDMI cable.

Is there any way I can get the picture to go through my TV using HDMI & get the audio using either optical or the red/white connectors?

#127218 Wii U GamePad Has A ‘Mystery’ Connector

I'd love a little DS card reader to go there to play DS games on the 2 screens, TV & touchscreen :)
