#195797 Pachter: The PS4/720 could have the cheapest starting prices ever

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 16 April 2013 - 07:58 PM in General Gaming

lose money in the short term to gain a large install base quickly? Sounds reasonable IF they have a great launch selection. Sony would have to follow suit or have the same beginnings as they did last generation. Knowing Sony though, they'll stick with a higher price because there sony. It was ridiculous, I actually saw an article in which a sony executive said the PSP Go would have a premium price because it was a premium device. WTF? It's like they thought "well, business men will want a pspgo, and business men have money, so let's make it expensive!"  I wish Japanese companies would adapt instead of this whole we do what we do because we are who we are! The idea of taking a loss to build customers can work.

HOWEVER, microsoft will get their money from you, don't worry about that ^^

At least Sony and Nintendo aren't obsessed with DRMs.

I highly doubt it could ever be cheaper than the Wii U. I smell fail trolling coming from Pachter.

#267155 Pachter: Nintendo stop Wii U production, move to XB1/PS4 until new console

Pachter is the funniest comedian ever. Show some respect.

#223374 Pachter: If Wii U lacks 3rd-party support after the holidays, Stick A folk in it

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 18 June 2013 - 08:41 AM in General Gaming

He's a big baby..

anyways, he picks what ppl like and start bashing it, it's just what he does... surprised he didn't talk about vita yet

Believe me he has.

He knows nothing about gaming, he just doing that for attention obviously.

He is more of an insult comedian than an actual person in the industry. 95% of his predictions are false. I have no clue how he makes his quota. Wedbush should fire him for he is the cancer of the game industry.

#215466 Pachter Predicts Wii U Price Cut, Feels Nintendo Is Losing "Non-Tradition...

TheUltimateWaddleDee, on 04 Jun 2013 - 06:21 AM, said:Enough with the Mobile destroys 3DS unicorn tongue No one will buy a phone or tablet to replace handheld gaming, unless you are getting a Razer Edge tablet, which is expensive as hell. Even with all of the stupid controller add-ons, you can't play games like Fire Emblem Awakening, Resident Evil Revelations, or Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Mobile gaming will never, EVER replace mobile gaming.

#221545 Pachter declares the PSVita dead

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 14 June 2013 - 02:57 AM in General Gaming

Just before Sony's E3 press conference, analyst Michael "Frog Touch" Pachter predicted a practical no-show for the PS Vita. He wasn't too wrong about that, either. The analyst went further than that, however, declaring the system dead.

"Sure there will be the occasional game, but the market's dominated by smartphones, 3DS, Vita's too hardcore," he told GameTrailers. "Sony will try to revitalize Vita, but it'll fall flat."

Pachter also said Sony's desire to have the PS Vita work as a companion device to the PlayStation 4 will fail, stating that while Sony may want that, he doesn't think it matters, advising users to "just buy an extra controller" if they want multiplayer experiences, and writing the system off as a "gimmick."

"Nobody cares about playing the Vita on a train," he declared.

There's no denying Sony disappointed with its PS Vita efforts on Tuesday, delivering little more than the same vague promises we've been hearing for over a year. I want to believe Sony's more dedicated to the handheld, but until I see proof, I'm not biting. I fear instead, Sony will just believe its ability to stream PS4 games will be enough of a library and leave it at that. Hope I'm wrong.

The Vita may not have much games yet but he ignored everything they said at Sony's conference IMO. Your thoughts?

#181743 Pachter Claims That Nintendo Is A Bad Company With A Poor CEO

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 11 March 2013 - 02:38 PM in General Gaming

Pachter is too not good to be legally executed.

why does everyone keep jumping on Patcher ?

do you actually know what his job is ?

Patcher is a business analyst, he analyses business so people know weather they are a good company in invest in, Patcher doesn't just do games companies he does all sorts, there are loads of people who do exactly the same job as he does, the difference is that Patcher has put himself out-there & because he did so a couple of times the gaming media keep asking him his opinion on the games industry.

if Patchers children ask him to buy them a WiiU so they can play Mario, would he say no & not buy them one, of course not, but if his children said should they invest  in Nintendo stock, he would say no.

what Patcher says is no different to what a games reviewer says about a game & rates it.

when you read what Patcher says think about it as if you were thinking of investing money in the said company.

if Patcher didn't know what he was doing (making money for people) he wouldn't be doing it.

We jump on Pachter because he is a dumb idiot who is almost always incorrect and thus incapable of doing his job.

#169486 over before it began..

You my friend suffer from IP blindness which is the inability to see the amazing progress the Wii U is getting ready to take. The cure is waiting to E3 and getting blown away. Watch E3 and call me in the morning. Doctor Saturn out.

#186089 OUYA To Launch With Nintendo 64, SNES And NES Emulation Support

All I can say is Nintendo's not going to like the OUYA.

His opinion? Yes.
The truth? No.

Both yes.

#168150 Ouya following the Apple model of a new redesign every year

A million times disagree. There aren't any mobile "games" I consider games. Lots of garbage shovelware that I would never pay money for.

Exactly. Even the best IOS games still make you wish you were playing a real videogame.

#168079 Ouya following the Apple model of a new redesign every year

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 07 February 2013 - 05:48 AM in General Gaming

It may be a good idea for a phone but not for an IOS gaming platform. They need to get one design and keep it for a while.

No interest in this at all. Until we get real games on android and not 20 versions of Angry Birds... don't care.

Agreed.

Your small knowledge of mobile games is funny.

Tricky was speaking the truth.

The Marine Corps is full of those, both good and bad.

My case worker had some pretty intereting stories from when he was in the Marine Corp. too. However not every story from the service is pleasant. The best stories to remember are the LULZ.

You should see the plaque my platoon made for me when I left.  The title read "Corporal Routerbad" and the message was attached to the motherboard of a bad router, lol.

Sounds like one of the classic memories that stick forever.

Navi

Need we remember the frustrations Navi brought us LOL

I really like the song Stitches by Orgy. It's as simple as that, and I always have a hard time thinking of decent usernames.

I love that song too.

my name is Alan & i have depression so i tend to think of things negatively & also have what you would call dark thoughts, hence Alan666

i am not some sort of weirdo ! i am quite nice so i am told, i do tend to speak my mind & am not afraid to say what everyone else is thinking, i tend to be pretty blunt & to the point.

Me too. Unfortunatley our opinions dont always agree but I feel you bro for I also suffer from depression.

***UPDATE*** I changed my name to Alex Apathy. Alex is my username and I have been feeling apathy. Plus it sounds emo.

Well my favorite band Rammstein did a song called Rosenrot which is German for Rose Red. Being into my feminine side I though it sounded pretty. Here is the Song in it's beautiful German language

#177877 Origin of your username

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 01 March 2013 - 09:18 AM in The Café

First my name was Mr.Saturn90 named after a character from my favorite RPG Earthbound. I later dropped the 90 from my name and became simply Mr.Saturn. Then I went emo and changed my name to FallenSaturn and now since everyone always called me Saturn my name is simply Saturn now.

My username comes from a something I was called early on in my Marine Corps career. I was performing an op-check (checking all of the components for functionality, running test configs on routers and servers to make sure all of the components worked correctly) on one of our DDS (Data Distribution System - basically a military network in a box) suites. Everything checked out in my DDS suite but the router (a Cisco 4000 series, if memory serves) would not boot. The NVMEM component was toast. On my op-check folder I marked in comments "router bad" and turned the book into our inventory NCO.

The next day when the Corporal came in and started checking the op-check logs he paused for a moment and barked at me to come over. When I got there he asked if my signature on the form was in fact mine. It was. He then, making sure everyone could overhear in the shop, said "routerbad?! Thats some **** a third grader would say f***nu*s! Are you a f**ing third grader devil dog?!"

From then on out, every morning when I delivered the appropriate greeting of the day "Good Morning, Corporal" he would respond "Good Morning, PFC Routerbad!" and it didn't take long for everyone in the entire squadron to catch on to it.

That was about 11 years ago, and I'm still Routerbad, though one of my peers when I was a seargent wanted it changed to wordpad, it never stuck quite as well. A google search only references me.

EDIT: Just as an additional FYI, when he called me Routerbad, he said it like you would expect a third grader to, in a high pitched, slightly slurred accent.

Very interesting story RB. I like it.

#197501 One thing Nintendo should do in Super Mario Wii U

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 20 April 2013 - 04:05 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I say use the origional formula of SM64. No gimmicks.

#167589 One moment in time that changed everything!

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 06 February 2013 - 06:39 AM in The Café

I'd agree the n64 was the start of their "decline", but there's 9001 other factors to it also.

How come before the Wii U has a chance to bring out their E3 IPs everyone immediatly assumes the Wii U is a loss? BTW the N64 was gold IMO.
