#167586 Edge: Next Xbox always online, no second hand games, new Kinect, Blu-ray drive

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 06 February 2013 - 06:36 AM in General Gaming

Do you guys think this decision togheter with other "politics" of today's gaming can lead the industry to a new Crash?

As long as Nintendo doesnt buy in to their crap I dont see a crash.

hopefully.

Why are you wishing death on the industry? We only want M$ to pay for their actions.

#218986 FIFA 14 Coming To Wii

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 11 June 2013 - 04:28 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Just so you guys know, it's coming out on the PS2, YES, THE PLAYSTATION 2!

That system is two fricking generations old! But they aren't releasing it for a current gen system?!? EA is not just trolling. They are hating.

#199571 Nintendo Land is a Failure.

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 24 April 2013 - 08:52 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Nintendo Land was created as the appeal title for Wii U, much like Wii Sports was for the Wii.

Nintendo Land hasn't created that effect. That is why it's a failure.

Maybe it wasn't for half of the games being multiplayer only.

#199568 Nintendo Land is a Failure.

That is not a failure. You can blame Nintendo for not yet having an install base.

#220601 Iwata: more unannounced third party titles will come

I'm never giving up on my Wii U but if this keeps up It will be my secondary console that I will only use for those mega IPs.

At this point, I'll believe it when I see it. Until that Iwata, I can't trust your words since you said this twice now.

Iwata is not a liar.

If capcom would invest in the Wii U, it would be the perfect system.

The two companies are a perfect fit and even their formulaic gameplay styles are perfect for each other.

Mega Man, Street fighter, Versus, Dragons Dogma, Ace Attorney, Resident Evil, Bionic Commando, Darkstalkers, DMC, Ghouls n' ghosts, Lost Planet, etc.

It would be like having Rare back.  Only better. They have got exceptional programming and artistic talent nowadays.  would be nice to see that translate to Wii U.

The type of games shown for Wii U remind me of a golden Age of gaming.  Where everything looks surreal and amazing and FUN! like games are supposed to be.  Then there is a mix of some serious (X), some stealth (Splinter Cell) some plain weird (Bayonetta), and some goofy (Wonderful 101).

the mix of wii U games just "feels" right.

Capcom is getting better while EA is getting way worse.

#216234 Wii U need a 3rd party Partner at E3.

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 05 June 2013 - 01:35 PM in Wii U Hardware

If they can earn EA back, the I'll be amazed

I think they should try to partner with Bethesda, Dishonored 2 Wii U exclusive, Elder Scrolls VI Exclusive DLC, and Doom 4 containing exclusive guns and monsters or something like that lol

^This would really revel in the beautiful sunshine people off which is why I would love it

Todd Howard did say Wii U games weren't out of the question...

#216176 Wii U need a 3rd party Partner at E3.

Trauma Team and maybe Persona if we're lucky from Atlus

Tales of U(something) from Namco Bandai

and Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, and Valkyria Chronicles from Sega

These are what I'd like to see

I wan't to see Persona and Trauma from Atlus as well.

I wan't Shenmue and Genesis era revivals from Sega.

I wan't to see Baten Kaitos from Namco Bandai even though I heard several devs are working for monolith now.

#216241 Wii U need a 3rd party Partner at E3.

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 05 June 2013 - 01:41 PM in Wii U Hardware

I remember Bethesda saying something about supporting Wii U if the specs are good enough. Seeing as the recent rumors are saying that Xbox One is close in power with Wii U, this is good. It's probably not gonna happen in terms of Exclusivity, but I can see their support

Same here. It would be nice to see Elder Scrolls 6 on the Wii U.

#216129 Wii U need a 3rd party Partner at E3.

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 05 June 2013 - 11:40 AM in Wii U Hardware

Ideally I'd like to see several third parties show off games for Wii U

I'd like

- SquareEnix to show off Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Directors Cut

- Capcom to pledge Panta Rhei engine to Wii U, even if it's later than the others, also a few Resident Evil games to Wii U and 3DS

- Ubisoft to pledge all multi-plats during 2014 to be on Wii U alongside Zombi 2 development update

- Sega to show off their third Sonic game

- Google to partner up with Nintendo this generation for home console only. Basically lend their technical expertise to Nintendo with the OS streamlining, allow Google Play store on Wii U to enable the download and use of Andoid apps (so you can come back from work and synch your Wii U so it can pick up from a game where you last saved), help develop remote play and Miiverse Android App, and licence their chromium source code for extra functionality to the internet browser. Google have already developed the YouTube app (that no-one uses) and the Google Street view App, I'm sure they have a great relationship - make it work Nintendo! It'd mean more people would buy Android to use remote play with "off-tv" versions of your home console games, and Android owners would more likely buy a Wii U in which you can download and synch up games they own on their Google account.

Aren't Miiverse apps in the works already?

Did they not? I was sure that they stepped off along with EA.

If not, my mistake.

They did not. They just got butthurt.

#216120 Wii U need a 3rd party Partner at E3.

They will realize this in time. Once XBox One sales are bad and Nintendo sales pick up.

/theory

A theory that seems very possible.

#216162 Wii U need a 3rd party Partner at E3.

Whether they're developed solely by Nintendo or outsourced, or which smart phone OS is completely unconfirmed. Some sort of Google/Android deal could have potentially happened and we'd not know until E3!

I't would be nice too see some sort of crossplay even though I don't own a smart device. I heard the PS4 copy of Watch Dogs already does something simular.

NoA's Scott Mofitt believes console offers "great value"

We won't bore you with a summary of why the Wii U needs a price cut — after all, we've been over that many, many times. With the PS4 and Xbox One looming on the horizon and Wii U sales in the toilet, it's the most logical way of reigniting consumer interest and making sure there's a large install base to attract vital third-party support.

However, although retailers are screaming for a lower price, Nintendo seems comfortable with the cost of the Wii U right now. In an interview with VentureBeat, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales and marketing Scott Mofitt claims that the console offers great value, and that the games shown at E3 will be enough to trigger a revival:

We have no plans to change the price of Wii U. The Wii U is a great value. With great content coming, that will drive the hardware installed base. We’ve gone from being the highest-priced console on the market to now being a great value with the announcements from our competitors. The perception of our price has changed, but what’s also changed is that people now see what great content is coming. They’ll see the value in those games. They’ll be able to enjoy a Wii U in their household for a lot less than a competing console.

Mofitt certainly has a point — if anything is going to get people interested in the machine, it's Nintendo's amazing first-party output. However, Wii U needs to be significantly cheaper than Sony and Microsoft's new consoles when they hit store shelves this holiday season, because retailers will be sure to point out the technical disparity between the respective platforms. One of the best ways to overcome that hurdle — aside from killer games — is to have a much lower price than your rivals.

Do you think Nintendo will really enter into this hardware battle without dropping the price, or is Mofitt merely bluffing in order to prevent people from holding back on a Wii U purchase until the price is slashed? Drop a comment to tell us what you think.

If I was them I would drop the price by at least $50 but oh well...

#212190 Shinen are spot on with the hardware.

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 28 May 2013 - 06:17 AM in Wii U Hardware

I'm not sure if a much more
powerful PS4 will produce much
better looking games. We've reached
a point where good games will sell
and I think the steps will be much
much smaller in the next generation.

But EA said it's crap!

And then again all of these devs assume Nintendo's competitors are OP when in fact some of the stats that are way higher (IE RAM) Wouldn't affect the graphics too much.

They are spot on completly, I just can't stress enough that companies will soon be limited by price hardware wise AND GOD FORBID PEOPLE LIKE ACTIVISION AND EA HAVE TO MAKE GOOD GAMES!!!! I think they would rather go out of business first. I'm sorry but it's no longer about graphics, it's about who has the next good idea.

Exactly. EA and Activision are shooting them selves in their own feet by going for graphics as top priority.

#193220 worried about capcom's wii u support

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 11 April 2013 - 01:51 PM in Wii U Games and Software

By that you mean 4 because 5 wont be nearly as good as 4 just watch.

How do you know? What you linked was just a fact that is subject to change.

the lost planet will be horrible! Search and check, the studio that develops lost planet, one of the worse! There is lots of videos on utube also about it... rasping capcom of killing their games and lost planet.

I played the first LP. I never cared for it.
