#315085 ZOMBI - Ubisoft

Posted by Portal on 20 June 2015 - 12:22 PM in General Gaming

What made zombiu great was the cool use of the gamepad. It won't be the same without it.

That's not what Ubi thinks.

They will just gimp it like they did Rayman Legends on other consoles. It's Ubisoft c'mon. French EA

And they'll say because of better graphics, and because it's on Xbone and PS4, it's the definitive version. It'll be hilarious if the Gamepad stuff is done with Smartglass and Vita.

In all seriousnes Link from Ocarina of Time became a Hylian Soldier but upset he was unable to pass his skills down he as a dead warrior teaches Link in Twilight Princess his skills. I also like to think of Link as Adol in that sense post saving the land he still helps others. Or again like OoT child link gets sent to Termina and ave them.

Heh. Ryudo totally missed it. We're talking MORE GAME. Screw more story. I want to go through a few extra dungeons or mini dungeons, maybe as a part of post game side quests to help out villages or add more character development to NPCs. If you really want more story, use MQ for that, or see FE:A's Future Past DLC.

Kotaku has a nice story about the zelda map speculation.

You gotta love this too... lots of similarities

Holy crap. Seems like we'll be getting a game in the Link's Defeated timeline. Which would be interesting given how the art style is so colorful and it takes place during dark times, but then, WW and SS.

What I'm hoping for is the ability to kill the wild horses and sleep inside their carcass like a Tauntaun in Star Wars.

Zelda U GOAT confirmed!

I find it a shame how after you beat the main story in a Zelda game there's nothing left to do, hopefully they change it this time around.

I am not talking about hero mode/ master quest.

There better be a Hero Mode and/or Master Quest. And saves should be a part of your WiiU profile. What I really want in the game are mini dungeons. Not the whole "solve this one puzzle or check out this concept" like in ALBW. MINI dungeons. Like adding to the core dungeons in theme or idea, but very much its own out of the way, neat, "Holy crap, check this out!". Oh, and did I mention MINI dungeons? I want minimized dungeons to find and explore dammit. At least the size of OoT's Forest Temple.

Posted by Portal on 07 December 2014 - 01:54 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I meant something to do after you beat the main story :P
But yeah, I want mini dungeons that aren't so mini and are actually rewarding not just "Oh look! You got 100 rupees!"

Or better yet, another story/ more side quests get unlocked after beating the main game, that huge world is gonna be useless if you're someone who only goes to dungeons (me) and doesn't care much for other things, then the game will probably be pretty short...

Oh. Sorry. I totally agree with that last paragraph. I don't give a crap about side quests either. I'd definitely be up for awesome post game content, not just more dungeons.

Sorc, you NEED to check your local GS. I was just there and bought Fossil Foghters and TCW: Jedi Alliance. Tons of games dirt cheap. No cases, but buying them separate is cheaper at $2-$10 a game.

#298150 Your Top 5 or 10 DS Games

Posted by Portal on 08 September 2014 - 06:13 AM in General Gaming

I absolutely adored DQ9. My absolute favorite JRPG. Bowser's Inside Story is another great RPG. The Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright games are quite loved. I recommend giving them a shot on iOS first. Radiant Historia and Ghost Trick are two I've personally been looking at. I've been playing through The Legendary Starfy lately and it's pretty great. Really, here's a list of DS games I've been looking to get straight from my iTouch notes. Should be a solid list. Oh, KH 358/2 Days is missing as I played it a few years ago. One of my all-time faves.
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
The Legendary Starfy
Lock's Quest
Radiant Historia
Dragon Quest 4,5,6
Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded
Okamiden
The World Ends With You
Final Fantasy Tactics A2
Kirby: Canvas Curse
Kirby Mass Attack
Geometry Wars Galaxies
Henry Hatsworth

Posted by Portal on 10 September 2014 - 04:38 AM in General Gaming

I really appreciate all the input! Some of the games I totally forgot about, others I didn't know much about until they were mentioned in this thread. Obviously some of the games can be found for a fairly good price, others are more rare and are going for premium...

Feel free to keep posting your top DS games, hidden gems etc. I am planning on updating the thread here when I receive my purchases! ( I will also post here http://thewiiu.com/t...-get-something/ )

Thanks guys!

Welp... I just scored this tonight on ebay. The game itself is used but looks in good shape as stated in listing, collectors guide is still sealed so that is new.

Got it for $49.95 free shipping. Seeing the guide go brand new for $28.99 plus shipping up to $60ish.

Holy crap. That's amazing. PH was the first game I really got into. I had the paperback guide after I got stuck on the part with the shovel. And that was only... close to 10 years ago. Excuse me while I feel old.

Then why am I having so much fun playing this game?

I didn't mean for my post to sound like M&L:PiT is less of a game because it's digital. More like in regards to this thread, digital has minimal bearing on the topic. If that makes sense. IMO DS games should be played on either original hardware or 3DS. Authenticity and all that.

Ghost Trick needs to be mentioned. I don't own it nor have I beat it, but from what I've played on my iPod, it's awesome. Great animation and sprite work, an intriguing mystery, and neat gameplay.

Wii U eShop

PHYSICAL COPIES, MAN. EShop prices are pretty decent, but eBay is generally cheaper and if it's not the game is complete. GBA and DS games on WiiU are practically glorified iOS or emu ports. It's not quite right.

#310943 Yoshi's Woolly World Release Date? (Europe)

Posted by Portal on 24 March 2015 - 11:46 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Well, that sounds about right. There's been a couple rumors of a ND soon, so it makes sense. Although Woolly is misspelled. Probably want to keep that in mind.

#311444 Yoshi Woolly World Box Art/ Trailer / Amiibo

After this ND I'm pretty hyped for this. Looks like a great adventure-platformer somewhat like DKCR and DKCRTP but easier. I will definitely be getting atleast one of those Yoshi amiibos. The adorableness :D.

Not sure if I'll get this. I have Fantasy Life on pre-order, adored DQ9, beat a few Guild games, but I really don't like Pokemon. Which this game seems like. Guess I'll wait for an English trailer.

Well, because Palutena is a non judeo-christian god/goddess, and the protagonists of all (non namco garbage) xeno games kill non judeo-christian gods like deity serial killers.

Oh man. I can already see a fan series on YouTube about this. Or even a stupid spin-off game. And honestly, IT SOUNDS AWESOME.

#307687 Xenoblade Chronicles X famitsu interview: Map is 400km squared

Posted by Portal on 27 January 2015 - 04:05 PM in Wii U Games and Software

No I looked it up right after you said that and laughed because the whole squared part was forgotten lol. Good eye. 3Dude was wrong. He won't stand for this. Everyone. Calmly single file to the bomb shelter. Sorce will guide the way.

That does however make XB 30 as Monolith did say a while back because the meck are 5X that of the human size the world is 5X larger so 150 is 5x of 30.

Oh man. It's gonna take a lot of MH and XB for 3dude to get over this.

Definitely gonna have to get my hands on this game. That overworld is MASSIVE. And what's more, I'm pretty sure you can reach everything, correct? I wouldn't be surprised to spend hours just exploring the world. The hype is real.

Zelda U if what Nintendo claims is true. Size of Kyoto. Kyoto is 319sqm. So Zelda maybe close to that plus or minus a few sqm.

That would be mind blowing. Just imagine all the secrets and mini dungeons. 0_0 It could seriously take hours to traverse the world map and check out locations.

Hopefully we'll atleast get this in NA. And has anyone else noticed the 9999 play coins? The cap has been 300 since launch. Another big Streetpass or UI update coming?

#308467 Wii U Zelda Map Analysis

Posted by Portal on 07 February 2015 - 07:53 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Does it blow anyone else's mind that this is actually happening? We are seeing an almost 30 year old game redone on WiiU. You know, bringing gaming back from the brink? Like 30 years ago? The concept alone is amazing, but this isn't even a concept. 0_0

#309403 Wii U top 3 games (for new owners)

Posted by Portal on 21 February 2015 - 03:47 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Pikmin 3- Nintendo Land showed off the WiiU really well through mini games, but Pikmin 3 takes everything the WiiU has into a beautiful and perfect game.
Hyrule Warriors- There's a ridiculous amount of content, and every bit of it is awesome.
Rayman Legends- Best 2D platformer ever. Beautiful art style, amazing gameplay, and beyond great level design and variety. This is a game my sisters absolutely adore. That says a LOT.
Honorable mention to Child of Light. Wonderful. Magical. Original. Erm, other words that sound great and show how much I love this game. If you love 2D platformers, JRPGs, or both, this game is perfect.

Note that I haven't played Tropical Freeze or TW101 yet. Lack of money, guys.
