#253102 Wii U OS Redesign Concept

Posted by Lebon14 on 25 October 2013 - 01:25 PM in The Museum

About the UI designs concepts of post #31, 39 and 47... they're still flat, yes. However, I kind of relate it to what Nintendo could come up with so I like it. In fact, I would love that so much more than the stupid Metro UI Microsoft has.

#253003 Rumor: Nintendo bringing “Super Mario 64 reUmagined” and other updated classics

Posted by Lebon14 on 24 October 2013 - 05:36 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Rare don't own the Kremlings.

Nintendo kept all the characters made in an already established Nintendo franchises and Rare kept all the characters which were not directly related to Nintendo. Kremlings appeared in DK Barrel blast, Mario Strikers and K. Rool is a trophy in Melee and Brawl.

Retro just decided they didnt want to use the Kremlings.

Thanks for the correction. I didn't know, seriously. I never played DK Barrel Blast, Mario Strikers and never really played the fighting games (I don't like fighting games, don't blame me) so I couldn't really know.

http://paulgalenetwo...ssics-to-wii-u/

If this is true, then that's incredible and exactly what I wanted them to do with the wii u.

Good idea because I imagine for a few wii u owners games like mario 64 would be new experiences for them.

Hope this comes true!

What do you think the other 6 games would be?

I would hope for

Dk 64

Majoras Mask

Paper Mario

Lylat Wars

Golden eye with full online multiplayer

Banjo Kazooie

I have a bad feeling that it defo won't be banjo since I think rare own him but apart from that the list seems possible.

You and storabajskorven are of the very few people that calls Star Fox 64, Lylat Wars in these parts. Also, remaking the original GoldenEye we know and love will be impossible. Licensing issues + Rare. Bajo Kazooie is a big No because it's a Rare franchise. By the way, there is already a remake on the 360 Arcade. Same for Tooie and Perfect Dark.

DK64, Paper Mario are probable. By the way, about DK64, if it is remade, I just hope that they can use the Kremlings. I believe that the Kremlings are Rare's chars and not Nintendo's. That's why (I believe) that DKCR and DKCTF won't be using them.

My list would be:

- Majora's Mask

- Super Mario 64

- F-Zero X

- Paper Mario

- One of the three Mario Party

- Pokemon Snap

- Donkey Kong 64

Other titles I wouldn't mind seeing the day of light:

- 1080 Snowboarding

- Wave Race 64

- Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (must work with Konami)

- Mario Golf

- Mario Tennis

- Pilotwing 64

Possible but unprobable:

- LoZ: Ocarina of Time (already remade on 3DS, recoded from ground up)

- Star Fox 64 (already remade on 3DS)

- Diddy Kong Racing (minus Rare chars)

Impossible (Classic Rare titles):

- Banjo Kazooie

- Banjo Tooie

- Perfect Dark

- Conker's Bad Fur Day

- Jet Force Gemini (and it's a shame... :( An amazing title, forgotten)

- GoldenEye 007 (N64)

30$ is... all good. I don't think the games will be ported. I'd imagine more being recoded from ground up like OoT was on 3DS. So, it will take man power and thus means more expensive. The fact that it'll only available on eShop... well, that will sadden many people.

#251062 Pokemon X or Y (and why?)

Posted by Lebon14 on 12 October 2013 - 04:54 AM in General Gaming

Pokemon X. Why? because I thought that the legendary on top looked cooler than Y's. No joke.

Why did you necro post?! That reply wasn't really worth it.

#250560 Majora's Mask

Posted by Lebon14 on 09 October 2013 - 02:09 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I thought they updated that? Because I can play Skyward Sword on the gamepad controler and whatnot.  Its just that all I have is the Wii Motion Plus and wireless wii U pro controllers...

You can use your Gamepad as your TV+sensor bar like you mentionned but you can't use the buttons on it. I know, I know... it's disappointing.

#250554 Majora's Mask

Posted by Lebon14 on 09 October 2013 - 12:04 AM in Wii U Games and Software

You cannot use the new WiiU stuff in Wii mode. So, you'll have to use wiimote+classic controller or wiimote+wii pro controller

Majora's Mask is an amazing game. Try it.

#250377 Project CARS (AMAZING!)

Posted by Lebon14 on 07 October 2013 - 11:57 PM in General Gaming

It looks realistic I guess and stuff but it's still a racing game.

I dislike thse.

Well, don't judge it then!

i'm going to have to agree with Nollog (shock!) this looks like ass. I can see some serious pixelation. Not impressed.making something shiny and reflective doesn't equal good graphics. that first shot is the worst.

Those are screenshots and somebody also like to use heavily compressed JPG. JPG creates a lot of artifact. The first image is in 1080p and weights 367 KB. It's pretty darn compressed.

I'm not a realistic racing fan but I have to give credit for that kind of graphics. It looks amazing.

#250138 Wii U OS Redesign Concept

Posted by Lebon14 on 07 October 2013 - 04:54 AM in The Museum

the wii u ui is an iphone clone.

grid based app launcher? check.

dock? check.

rounded rectangle icons? check.

almost.

its the fisher price version.

Metro is pretty savvy, but i never said to use metro on wii u.

the ui would benefit from modern design trend.

there are a lot of aspects that can be done better.

and that nintendo feel?

every console has a ui of its own. the wii was the first to try to emulate apples "aqua" look to some degree.

it was considered modern when the wii came out.

the wii u ui feels stuck back at that time. thats why most feel it's outdated.

hopefully we get a modern ui next year. and by modern i dont mean stale. but something that looks current and sharp.

*pinches his top part of the nose*

Do you think sincerely think that Nintendo wanted to "copy" Apple? I don't think they did. What they thought was probably "Hey! the 3DS UI is pretty good, so, we could use it on the U. But... there are too much options and so we need some shortcut. Let's put the most useful down there." And, it just happened to look like a dock from OSX and other Apple products. As you know, Nintendo avoid paying royalties like the pest. So much that they won't even pay for DVD playback (which needs DVD Forum licence), Or even CD-Rom!! For Blu-ray, I understand... you wouldn't pay rolyalties to one of your direct competitors, hmm? To top it off, they are copyright an*l-ist.

Personally, the flat "modern" look is just a fad. Oh wait. Apple used that flat look in iOS7. Then, something bad became good all of a sudden. And people hate Windows 8 for the Modern/Metro UI... go figure.

Anyway, what Nintendo really needs to focus on is to let people actually personallize their console. Add a wallpaper, change the color of the icons, folders, etc. Just a few ideas out of my head. Ninty has always the first to takes risks. So why not nnovate in the UI instead of following a fad trend? Why not innovate on something new?

Personally, I like the UI the way it is. Needs improvement, yes, but I still love its look.

#250125 Is Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon coming to Wii U?

Posted by Lebon14 on 07 October 2013 - 04:23 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I think it's fake.

But...Nintendo should better release some DS/3DS player for the Wii U like we had for the Snes (GB player). :)

And the Gamecube had the Gameboy Advance player too if I am right.

#250106 Is Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon coming to Wii U?

Posted by Lebon14 on 07 October 2013 - 02:19 AM in Wii U Games and Software

For people like me that didn't buy the 3DS version (yet) but also have a WiiU, this could be a good deal if you like to play on the big screen better than the small portable screen.

#250042 News feed

Posted by Lebon14 on 06 October 2013 - 04:24 PM in Wii U Hardware

Well, since we're talking rumours:

I heard that Nintendo had EA help them build their online system, but then EA got greedy and wanted them to use Origin as their backbone. Nintendo said no to this because it could cause problems with other developers, and apparently this response wasn't handled well.

That's the main reason we heard in the past. EA is just butthurt and prove that they are a sh**ty and greedy company. There's a reason why they've voted the worst company in North America two years in a row!

I would like to thank you, Eye_Of-Core, for the hard work put into this. You definitely showed what the WiiU is capable of!

#249717 Wii U OS Redesign Concept

Posted by Lebon14 on 04 October 2013 - 10:43 PM in The Museum

actually, it's not.

the wii u is awesome. the os ui is the complete opposite of that.

And look a the arrows on the sides of the home screen, they look ok. outdated, but ok. now tap one. notic how the highlight is now? the highlight should stop at the edge of the arrow object. insted, it extends onto the drop shadow. its visually a small error, but it is an astronomically huge error in terms of the person using the graphic tools to design it.there ae multiple others, but this is pretty obvious.

still can't believe someone was paid to do this. they really need to hire a quality graphic designer for the ui.

I also heavily disagree. Metro UI is by far the worst UI I've ever seen: flat, ugly, unintuitive. On a Nintendo console, it would be unsuable. You need multitouch which the Gamepad can't provide. On the TV, since you can't swipe away, you'll have to navigate manually in a mess of squares and rectangles. I've always hated the last XBox360 UI for a reason: everything's lost in a mess of flat rectangles. That's the main reason I've stayed with Windows 7 and I don't want Nintendo to fall for that stupid flat look.

However, I don't say that the WiiU UI is the best. Could it be better? Yes. Could it be faster? Most definitely.

Let's have a list of stuff that could be added and improved:

That's not it. Emulators, in Nintendo's eyes, are illegal. So, they didn't like you talking on how to circumvent buying their games... even if they aren't sold anymore. (i.e. Don't talk about piracy on there. Not the right place.)

#249592 When did you get your Wii U?

Posted by Lebon14 on 03 October 2013 - 06:28 PM in Wii U Hardware

Release day was a sunday and since mine was ordered online and that there's no delivery on Sunday, I got it the next day. So, the day after official release.

#249508 Mighty No.9 has reached all their stretch goals (More on the way.)

Posted by Lebon14 on 03 October 2013 - 05:20 AM in General Gaming

I never really played any Mega Man game and bec- I mean backed this one. Why? Because I was so surprised at the reactions of people and how quick it was to fund the first 900k$. I was left speechless how awesome people can be toward a cause. When the WiiU stretch goal was met, that is where I backed the game.

I personally can't wait how it'll unfold!

#241621 An 8 yearold boy shoots and kills her 90 yearold grandmother after playing GTA4

Posted by Lebon14 on 25 August 2013 - 10:53 PM in The Café

Why would you leave a gun out in the open with an 8 year old around?

THIS. Also why was the gun loaded to begin with? I wouldn't blame the video game here, I would blame the parents and the deceased grandmother for letting the kid playing the game. This is a "M" rated game! Kids shouldn't play these games, they should play games like Mario or anything E rated. Parenting fail. Seriously. Not the video game's fault.

#241620 Wii U Summer/Fall Update

Posted by Lebon14 on 25 August 2013 - 10:45 PM in Wii U Hardware

Don't forget that there's still NID and Miiverse to come to the 3DS still. I wonder when we'll have those. Otherwise, more OS speed will be welcome. It's still pretty slow but much better than before the spring update. That's all I ask really. Oh and, games.
