#149199 Nintendo Land

Posted by Crimson_Engage on 18 December 2012 - 06:45 AM in General Gaming

It's good but not great. I give it a 8.0. I'd rate it higher but there are a few issues where I had to deduct the score.

Issue 1:

No online play once so ever! This was a bad decision as I can't play some of the mini games unless someone is over at my house. I'm 26 years old. I'm not a child and don't have my friends come over as often as they did when I was in school. We are grown adults with families and jobs! It's 2012 and online Muliplay is a MUST.

Issue 2: Some games you can't play unless you have a Wiimote+
I'd like to play the ground aspect of Metroid but I can't!

#149185 Two players - New Super Mario Bros. U (help)

Posted by Crimson_Engage on 18 December 2012 - 06:25 AM in Wii U Games and Software

At the end of the day that's not going to happen as this is the way Nintendo intended the game to be played.

Although I understand what you are saying, that doesn't change the fact that it was a dumb decision.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is coming out next month. It's going to be amazing!

#148966 Gamepad Mic question

Posted by Crimson_Engage on 17 December 2012 - 03:07 PM in Wii U Hardware

Are you serious? I haven't tried using it in online games so i was just wondering. So let me get this straight You can't even use the built in mic for online games? I have to buy a new headset!?

First, I can't play two players on Mario using one wiimote and the gamepad. I have to have TWO wiimotes, then you can't play Mario or Nintendo Land online despite it being the year 2012. I shouldn't have to leave my house to go play with friends. I'm 26 years old and we work!

Now you are telling me I must BUY a headset? Couldn't the console come with one!? The Xbox came with a headset for crying out loud! And even if I do buy one where am I going to plug it in at? I use the headset port on the top of the pad with my earbuds so I don't wake my gf up at night and headsets like Turtle Beaches are big and bulky to be using with the gamepad.

All of my rage is building up at the moment.

#148961 Gamepad Mic question

Posted by Crimson_Engage on 17 December 2012 - 02:58 PM in Wii U Hardware

So I noticed the Gamepad has a built in mic. I only used it once to test the video call thing with a friend.

My question is, how do you mute the mic when you are playing online games? Is there a switch? I know on normal headsets there is a switch on the cord along with volume control. (unless it's wireless)

How would one go about muting his mic so others don't have to hear my dumb family members singing and crap in the background? lol

#148959 Just sold my Wii U!

Posted by Crimson_Engage on 17 December 2012 - 02:55 PM in Wii U Hardware

So you sold it because you are impatient? The system JUST came out. Oh well, whatever. Your loss. (of money)

I'll be playing Aliens: Colonial Marines next month.

Personally, an RTS game would work very well on the Wii U due to the pad.

They should really patch this. I don't understand the reasoning for NOT letting people use the pad to play MP also.

I want a Super Mario All-Stars 2 more than anything really. Only, HD remakes of classic games updated with New Super Mario Bros. U and Mario Galaxy graphics.

1. Super Mario World (with Mario U graphics)

2. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (with updated graphics)

3. Super Mario 64 (with Mario Galaxy style graphics update)

4. Mario Sunshine (with Mario Galaxy style graphics update)

5. Yoshi's Story (with updated graphics)

#148834 mario bros u multiplayer question

Posted by Crimson_Engage on 17 December 2012 - 06:34 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I just made a thread asking this question. I should have read down a bit further. This is a very stupid decision. Why can't we just use the game pad to play? Why are we limited to placing blocks?

I hope they patch this.

Edit- And what's this? You can't use a pro-controller either? WHY? Who is making these stupid decisions? So, in order to play with Mario and Luigi at once I have to have two Wiimotes? WHY CAN'T I JUST USE THE DAMN PAD?

#148833 Two players - New Super Mario Bros. U (help)

Posted by Crimson_Engage on 17 December 2012 - 06:30 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Hello all, new here so sorry if this has been asked but I have been trying to figure out how to play two players on NSMBU.

I have the gamepad and one Wiimote but can't for the life of me figure out how to have two players running on screen at once. It's always just Mario and the person with the pad lays down blocks.

Is there no way to play with a Wiimote AND with the gamepad to play?
