#202252 WiiKey U is legit and its in Development!

Posted by johnodd4 on 30 April 2013 - 06:56 PM in Wii U Hardware

Infamous hackers WiiKey have announced that they’ve managed to fully hack the Wii U, including drive authentication, disk encryption, and the file system. This kind of hack is extremely detrimental to both Nintendo and the game industry at large, since it is designed to allow pirates to bypass the protection Nintendo has in place in order to play unofficial copies of games found on pirate sites. No homebrew channel and no region unlocking will result from the hack, so if this statement is true, it’s likely Nintendo will be addressing it soon.

Taken from the WiiKey website:

Yes, its real – we have now completely reversed the WiiU drive authentication, disk encryption, file system, and everything else needed for this next generation K3y. Stay tuned for updates!

The WiiKey team were responsible for the first Wii hack released in 2007, so if this rumor turns out to be true, we could see even less third party support for the Wii U unless Nintendo takes action against the hackers quickly.

P.S Read No region unlocking because if they messed with the region my guess would be that it would be detectable

#155100 Wii U: Video drop off fix

Posted by johnodd4 on 01 January 2013 - 11:39 PM in Wii U Hardware Help

this fix is for users that with longer component cables are experiencing video out and on issues during games like just dance 4 the video would cut out then come back on this is due to the fact the wii u doesn't have enough power to run third party component cables the cable must be 7 1/2 inches for a third party cable or use the nintendo issued component cable.

or build your own here is how.

Here is the article

How to repair the nintendo wii component cable signal loss for the wii u and get stereo surround sound for your gaming pleasure

Items you will need:

1. a wii component cable also known as a d-terminal component cable

2. New component cables to wire onto the cable.

3. rca male connectors

4. rca female connectors

5. rca cable for audio

6. rca cable adapter referred to as a male to male adapter or female to female adapter if you wired it a different way

7. soldering iron

8. solder

9. heat shrink or electrical tape your choice

Why do we need to do this.

Well as we have all noticed on the wii u theres no optical out for the sound the surround sound only works through hdmi which means you have to spend 124.99 for a adapter to send the sound from the hdmi to the surround sound receiver which is rediculus when you can use 5.1 stereo surround sound through the d-terminal on the wii u console which no one is aware of.

Why do we need to hack the cable for.

if the d-terminal cable is two long you will lose video and audio signal from the wii u console because the console doesn't have enough power to keep the signal strength up on the console so by shortening the cable from 15 feet to only 7 1/2 feet we can fix this issue.

Does this mean my wii u won't display into hd???

No you will still have hd. component and hdmi work the same way same color codes of wires almost except hdmi has a bunch of signal upload wires and download wires that are a mess to deal with the console still displays in 1080i and 1080p no problems with component.

Awesome where do i begin.

Step 1 preparing your cables.

i highly recommend gold plated connectors for this because a lot of component cables for the wii didn't come with them and gold plated makes better connections .

cut the end off of the component cable you will be using

shorten the wii d-terminal cable from 15 ft to 71/2 feet use a tape measure if necessary

strip the wires be careful not to screw up.

now get your rca connectors ready strip them and get them ready as well

Step 2 understanding color codes.

this is a simple process as long as you remember these key things video is pink audio is red and white if you remember these things you can build any component cable.

Now why is this important???

Well in component cables there are these colors.

audio:

Red

White

video:

Red

Blue

Green

But when you strip the wire it usually looks like this depending on who manufactured your cable.

Audio:

Red

White

Video:

Pink

Blue

Green

the reason for this is simple you don't want to hook the video signal up to the system audio line it will just hum and do damage to your speakers.

so if your rebuilding a cable you would wire it like this.

Video:

Pink = Red

Green = Green

Blue = Blue

Audio:

Red = Red Rca connector

White = White Rca connector

Step 3: soldering your connections

Key: take your time do a good job and don't rush one wrong connection and you have a issue especially if you solder two connections to one.

heat up your soldering gun or iron depending on your choice

once at full heat get ready to solder.

solder connections.

wrap with electrical tape or heat shrink which ever you prefer and try it out.

I recommend using just dance 4 on the wii u it seems to have the issue with the longer cable so if your video starts cutting in and out on the getting feely song in just dance 4 then you know you will have to shorten it shorter.

remember this is for stereo surround sound there is no need to select 5.1 surround sound in the wii u system settings because stereo on the wii u is stereo hd surround sound

#156877 Wii U eShop Help

Posted by johnodd4 on 06 January 2013 - 12:33 PM in Wii U Games and Software Help

actually the reason it wont happen is because they had people hacking the wii shop to steal software illegally from nintendo so the gift option was turned off in the eshop because of hackers

#181596 Wii mode not working

Posted by johnodd4 on 11 March 2013 - 07:56 AM in Wii U Hardware Help

Actually there is your problem the sensor bars are not interchangable you need the wii u sensor bar that came with the wii u sorry the wii sensor bar is differrent voltage and can cause freezing issues with the wii u please try with the wii u sensor bar first

#182463 Wii mode not working

Posted by johnodd4 on 13 March 2013 - 07:54 PM in Wii U Hardware Help

thats odd because the 32 gig one i have never would let me use my own sensor bar i had to use the new wii u one and as for the wii mode not working i can give you a fix although you wont like it.

Sorry to say send it to nintendo.

And check your internet connection if you have dsl it can and will &^%$ up your wii u badly i had to upgrade because the dsl wasn't fast enough and the console i started with a basic 8 gig ended up dead from a faulty firmware so its hit and miss

#183212 Why won't my Wii U stay connected to the internet

Posted by johnodd4 on 16 March 2013 - 04:43 AM in Wii U Hardware Help

Actually i can explain this if you would have listen to his comment:

"its a router and cable box from the cable company"

See Cable companies use not the latest wireless tech but older tech because its cheaper see the wii u doesn't support wireless g which most routers from cable companies are they use wireless g and the other thing you must keep in mind it that wireless g routers the really nasty cheap ones only support 2 devices registered with the device so this is why your iPod your wii u dont connect to the internet while the 360 and ps3 do because they support wireless g.

I recommend updating your wireless router to net gear dlink linksys any of those will work

#172632 What size SD card or USB stick can i use?

Posted by johnodd4 on 18 February 2013 - 06:02 AM in Wii U Hardware Help

No and i wouldn't recommend a usb stick nintendo has already warned gamers that a usb flash drive of any sort will fail because it reads and writes to the drive hundreds of times every time you use the console and the max for most flash based drives is 1,000 hours before the drive fails or you get a read error message i recommend a 2tb external the my book essentials that works on usb 2.0 and usb 3.0 works perfectly and shuts off when the console shuts off

#157103 Untill the NNID is not tied to my account I wont buy digital

Posted by johnodd4 on 06 January 2013 - 10:51 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Actually this is where you are wrong the reason for the shop account is so you can redownload your purchases even on a new console the games are tied to your nintendo id not to the console its when you register the new console it disables the content on the other for piracy concerns

#155096 This is just UNACCEPTABLE!

Posted by johnodd4 on 01 January 2013 - 11:27 PM in Wii U Hardware Help

Actually i am sorry to say the wii u gamepad stays on even if you are in wii mode now the reason everyone is guessing this for is because nintendo might release a update for the wii emulator to use the gamepad but nothing has been confirmed yet

#178684 So i lost my vita today...

Posted by johnodd4 on 03 March 2013 - 01:18 PM in General Gaming

the vita is toilet paper huh!!!

Awesome statement

It best discribes my feelings about the device.

my hell was this.

my vita memory card corrupted and sony has there warrenty for the card but there warranty doesn't cover corruption or loss of data great!!!

So i now have 4 ds handhelds still looking for a original ds though i  have.

Red and black 3DS XL

Limited Edition Zelda 3DS w/Nyko extended battery.

DS LITE Red and black

Limited Edition Zelda phantom hourglass Ds Lite got it for $20.00 from gamestop the guy who brought it in would only get $10.00 for it so i gave him $20.00 with the original ac adapter there kid did ding the plastic by the hing but there is a hollow spot there in case you drop it so no big deal

the vita can go suck a egg in my aspect the device has major issues the battery sucks no one can fix that not even nyko because nyko has stated the vita firmware reads the battery so they cannot even produce a battery the fact also is the device is online rigged where features work only if you have 3g so no thank you

MY DS Collection works great for me.

#156887 Save data: How to backup.

Posted by johnodd4 on 06 January 2013 - 12:58 PM in Wii U Games and Software Help

Here is how to backup your save data:

Please keep these in mind when doing this.

1. if you are transfering the data from one wii u to another make sure your account name is the same and your nintendo id are the same as the save file or it wont copy.

2. only certain titles allow copying.

Here is what you need.

1. a usb thumb stick 4 gb works fine

2. a wii u

3. the wii u you want to transfer to

4. your nintendo id and a new user account with the same name as the old user account on the broken or damaged wii u and the same mii design yes if you don't have a 3ds or wii remote to save and backup your mii your going to need it.

Warning this process is experimental at the least.

1. here is what you do plug in the usb thumb stick with the wii u off turn on the wii u.

2. once booted backup your mii first by selecting the mii channel on the wii u transfer it to the wii remote or a 3ds

3. now go into system settings select data management then select the console.

4. now click the title of the game listed

5. now inside the title you will notice theres game data which we dont need there is save data and user data those are what we need to backup.

6. select them select copy thats it.

once finished shut down the old wii u console

now go to the new one and connect the usb thumb stick start up the wii u for the first time create a account with the same name as the one from the old wii u and then log into your current nintendo id and your done now play the game once really quick to create save data now exit the game go into data management and select the console then select the game then delete the save data file once finished press back and back again and select the usb thumb stick select the title select the save data and copy it back.

This has confirmed working on fifa but havent tried it on anything else yet myself try it and see if it works

#157104 Save data: How to backup.

Posted by johnodd4 on 06 January 2013 - 10:57 PM in Wii U Games and Software Help

Actually not good work finding this out there are major problems still.

this is why this is experimental

i found out you have to transfer the game data as well as the save file to transfer all of the data from one machine to another but when attempting to copy the save only i found out you cannot on all titles except fifa very weird

Games i have tried.

1. super mario bros u

2. batman arkham city

3. call of duty black ops 2

4. just dance 4

5. and nintendo land

i can confirm copying the game data and the save data and the user data does work the question of which i dont have another wii u to test it with is will it transfer and work if the same user account name and mii is on the other console
