It does at minimum I believe the wii U will be able to get similar support like onlive had .I think he is saying it has the potential to do a lot better

well they are making a 2d game (mostly) their only so much they can do they already have it 1080p 60 fps really the only thing they could do is used uncompressed textures but that is unreasonable to do and won't really be noticed by most people. There is a limit to what they can currently do. What he said is that they aren't hitting any limitations, so obviously they aren't trying to get the most out of the system, is my point. Otherwise they'd be hitting those limits.

I thought you was the one that told me it was cpu light when I was saying originally it was cpu heavy in the trine 2 digital foundry thread. You guys need to stop doing things like this. You have no idea what is going on in trine 2, and yet you are thoughtlessly whipping around 'facts' as if you knew.
Frostbyte used Physx , but they dont put the physics on the gpu, its all run through the cpu. And trine 2's physics might be considered kinda good.
Not only that, its doing more in the physics/cpu department than the 360/ps3 versions... Which also ran cpu physics.
And once again, it is important to remember the difference between developers and porters. No developers have actually complained, only porters.

That sound very much of an old age in gaming the new age in gaming art style is worth its weight in gold and indies have shown graphics arn't everything. This is a new age in gaming. You have to first show how many polygons you pushed and how your game can't be made on another console before it can be considered good.

Its cpu light. Its good to hear a developer giving positive feedback, but unless Trine II is a very CPU heavy game then it doesn't really tell us anything.

the resolution he gave is sub hd also that is the resolution of both 360 and wii u while ps3 has a dynamic resolution and so it sometimes go lower than that. The PS360 versions of the games actually run in subHD so they can stay at 60fps

One may underclock a cpu to lower heat or help preserve battery life if the machine is portable.Dude learn how to spell
Why would one underclock a CPU? Tech guys please?

Well, the lighting is pretty obvious. Then there are the gratuitous texture layers, on like everything. Its not always about things 360/ps3 cant do, but doing it better and a lot more at the same time. Have any of you actually taken a good look at the trophies in nintendo lands lobby? Tons of texture layering. specular mapping, dot3, embm, cube mapping (gets stretched a little too much on larger surfaces), luminosity/radiosity maps, gi, sub surface light scattering (super important, subtle but very important for realistic lighting) with its shadow mapping being the only noticable weak link despite EVERY object having the same level of attention to detail. some shadow maps are noticably low res, having very large noticable artifacting (in the form of large jaggies). Nintendo attempted to hide this via some bizarre artifact/glitch looking line dithering. Works well enough a bit away, but falls apart in 1st person mode up close.
Any of you paid attention to what happens to enemy character models when your sword makes contact with them in zelda?
or gotten to the last levels of the extra modes in zelda, metroid, or pikmin?
Nope I haven't played too much of Nintendo land but I guess I start playing to get to where you are talking about now.

Its True and I can kinda see why if you just look at the start menu of the wii U and notice the massive mii swarm around Mario compared to everything else in the most played other than Tvii that is surprisingly high as well.Eh, it will likely be less troublesome to downport 720/ps4 games to wii u then up port 360/ps3 games.
A lot of people are saying the next systems are 'gpu centric with weak cpu's'.
And thats not really true. The cpu's just arent stupid power hungry flop monsters, because that path, the g5 path, crashed and burned, and was murdered by icore.
Cpu's are looking to be clocked lower for next gen consoles, and focus on ipc over clock speed.
The bigger problem is whether or not these devs think their games can stand toe to toe with nintendo games. Most devs hate releasing on Nintendo systems because they hate having to compete with nintendo games.

I'm curious how much time would that take and will that make it harder to synchronize development with other platiforms as wii U version of their engine has to be different from the other engine or is the engine that their working with different for both the 360,ps3 and pc.Oh it will definately be fine. The only people who have complained have been port teams, and their complaints are stupid and all the same.
The wii u is clocked slower, the game engine relies on simd/high clock speeds.
Solution, rewrite the engine for a different solution than simd. Oh, thats right, you are a c list port team who doesnt have the knowledge, and arent given the time and resources to do it anyway.
Frozen byte optimized their engine for wii u. Then again, Frozenbyte is small, they dont have port teams, their main team does everything.
They dont need to wait on middleware that may NEVER be optimized for wii u (like unreal 3, which has been announced as finished on consoles as far as support from epic is concerned.) they arent afraid to dive in to change code because they dont understand it.
The same guys who wrote it originally brought it to wii u, and the result of that is the wii u version has the same graphical effects and superior physics as the pc version, that the ps360 just couldnt do.
Its fine. Its not a powerhouse, and in certain areas, like floating point and simd, yeah, its not as powerful as 360/ps3, but thats because it wasnt designed to specialize in that specific area like ps360 were. It offers superior performance utilizing different solutions.
If you absolutely NEED FP or simd that the cpu just cant muster, it has a blazing fast interconnect to the gigantic gpu which has plenty of simd nodes to spare. Its almost like they put them on the same substrate on purpose or something...
Gah, I hope Retro is doing metroid. The second retro/ead's big game is shown is the very second people stop complaining...
Since I could foresee that to be a problem ; going on from that would you think the competitor's next gen consoles will handle things like the wii U causing it to be easier to synch with doing multiple versions of the same game at once.

Its just another one of Capcom add more words to the title and release it as new game thing.Pretty much that's what it seems like.
I'm certainly not surprised, just making an observation. My point was it would have been nicer if they had made a new game in the series from the ground up.

That is true I hope the third party support improves compared to the wii U launch and not degress from the wii U launch.that bad feeling should be 3rd parties acceptance and feelings towards Wii U and not the power of Wii U itself.

That what I am hoping and is pretty much summarized what I said in "How the wiiU will handle against the new consoles thread" but I just got a bad felling in my stomach though about the wii U that I just can't shake off.Wii was about 20x less powerful than ps360.... no next gen console is making that kind of leap. it will be up to if developers think an audience is their on Wii u. go on youtube and look at the 360 video comparison vs PC of The Witcher 2. thats what you should expect in cross platform games Wii U vs ps4 and 720. its gonna be missing just some effects and might run at slower fps and resloution might be lower thats it... but that all depends on developers... there will be Wii U games that will stand up against the "ALL MIGHTY" 720 and ps4.
