You are in the hardware subsection of the forum first off and second guess what your also on this forum talking and not playing your games and even went straight to a topic that your not interested in to post now isn't that a little hypocritical much. Its a thread for the people who live in their mothers basement and jerk of over this carp. Instead of just playing the games for enjoyment they have to sit there and talk about how good the spec's are and why its so "OMFG 13333337 M473"

neogaf paid for the pictures though. You should actually thank Chipworks instead. http://www.chipworks...hics-processor/

While this is some of the most important information we had in a long time not to mention soon they are also going to give neogaf the cpu pics as well.I am interested in it. But do you really think we need a new thread every time a new tiny little detail is discovered. And i was playing my ds while I browse the forums.

while many of the threads about this develop said that and etc certainly dont qualify IMO to have a new thread I feel this topic does. While I agree there is countless other threads it could have been posted in.

Nintendo is extremely secretive on everything from tech to games nowdays. Why do we know more about the ps4 than the Wii U at this point?! By time they produce a good looking game I will have the next consoles from xbox and PS and all this spec stuff will be moot.

UGG I really shouldn't have read that article as well as the topic about that article on neogaf .... listening to wispers of madness is't good for your health.I was about to agree with this until i read the article. Well, I still agree with the poster... but...
Wow... just... wow. Thats bad. I didnt realize the extent of eurogamers cluelessness until they so woefully attempted to extend well beyond their reach.
Um, they try to state the audio digital processor and arm secure processor (nicknamed starbuck by fail overflow) are among the unidentified logic units. The problem with this is that they are both PROCESSORS, and even embedded on a die, are easily identifiable as such. Simply put, they need more than well, logic units, because they are more than logic units. An easy example is the serdeslike interface processor in the lower left of the die, it is easily recognizable as different from logic units, as its an embedded processor, not a logic unit. The arm secure and dsp are likely among the OTHER processors nearby not identified by chipworks. Particularly the one that looks suspiciously the size and composition of an arm secure processor... particularly since its another arm 9. Just sayin.
Please dont look here for anything other than entertainment. This... Rich Ledbetter? Remember his name. He is apparantly Eurogamers self proclaimed 'tech analyst' yet has no certifications whatsoever in his profile beyond 'game journalist', and it is on full display here.
Look to other sites to analyze this information (trust me, they will) and from authors with displayed credentials.... more substantial than 'game journalist since 16 bit days makes me a tech analyst!'
Anyways, back to the op i quoted original sentiment...
Its good if all youve been observing is cackling idiot trolls talking about how crap and bandwidth starved the system is.
Its bad if you have been holding out for the wii u to release its latent superpowers, or suddenly double power consumption and go super sayin or something.
Its pretty much the same ballpark weve been looking at, 2-3x 360.... With some very specific strengths in the form of the == 50mm^2 of unidentified logic units (whats left after identifying shader, texture, rops etc and removing i/o's, embedded processors, controllers and ram etc. They do something, and it pertains to graphics.... I understand more now what shin en meant when they said you cant compare it to standard environments.

Ok Well hopefully we can figure out the entire puzzle I recently closed the tab on the Neogaf CPU thread because It was giving me headaches but I have the Wiiu Final Spec thread open to see if anything else is found out .They didnt, but their number was correct. Iw as talking about the beyond3d/gaf guys. I found the complete match, and matched it with the data table matrix provided by samsung, in my post above.
For example, I believe they mussed their bit orginization, they had 16x, but they accidentally had 16x4, instead of 8, which would give very narrow 64 bit, as opposed to a 128 bits.
Playing the Nintendo multiples game with the information I got from the ram, Im going to go with the good old Nintendo 3, and guess the cpu is 3x800Mhz (ram speed) landing us at 2.4Ghz for the cpu.

Hopefully the disappointment will work in favor for wiiu owners.Googly moogly, they work with Neon enterprise software, that ones new.
Thats top of the line mainframe super computer software optimizing they are doing. These guys are nuts.
But yeah, I had to make doubly sure people realize they know much MUCH more than just Nintendo hardware.
The cpu will fall well below the 360/ps3 in terms of floatingpoint operations a second, and in turn simd loops. Which, is pretty who cares, the most not good thing about ps3/360 was its focus on flops. Gpu's need flops (sorta), cpu's need general purpose, which ps360 were garbage at. Developers were, eventually, able to build something worthwhile around the flop strengths, but when a life cycle goes on 2-3 years longer than any system cycle in history, that should be expected.
That being said, all signs point to ps4/durangos cpu's also falling below cell and xenon in flop count. WHich would make bc very very difficult.
These consoles will be very dissimilar to this gens consoles.they will not simply be an enhancement of 360/ps3. Thats because, Dennard scaling is reaching the end of physical possibility with silicon on insulator. New wells need to be dipped into, and each well is shallower than the last. Its the main reason the 5 year cycle has been broken. The power advancement/price ratio of the past 30 years has been broken.
So many people are going to be so dissapointed by this gen.

I didn't say it sucks (If you was speaking to me) I just said it seem like a novice pc builder would make in fact a mistake I almost made once.I agree the Cpu/RAM may be kind of slow but that doesnt give people the ability to say the whole thing sucks like some poeple are.

That was a long time ago, also its not one weakness its apparently slow CPU and Slow Ram and a strong GPU but even the GPU isn't a beast. The wii u is not novice just becuase it has one weakness! Thats like saying the Genesis was way better than the SNES because of so called "blast processing"!

Yeah Its a bit annoying that so many Devs contradict other devs though but I guess its less contradiction and more different opinions in power which does worry me kinda with what Shin ens said since I think they have only worked on Nintendo Platforms. The main information we need is the on die edram chips, both cp and gpu, the whole system seems designed around it.
And judging by what Shin ens said about it, it will be pretty good.

I know I love Shin en I haveShin en has been a Nintendo exclusive 3rd party since 1999. Before that they were pc devs.
Now, there is a reason why they are still considered a third party, and not a second party. They make games for Nintendo products by choice. Likely because They have the know how to code to metal in an industry where that is quickly becoming a lost skill, and thus can stand out head and shoulders above anyone else with a very cheap to produce product.
However, Shin en skills is well known throughout the industry, and everybody respects them. Shin en does free lance work for many, MANY, companies, very well known companies, they simply only release games under the shinen lable for Nintendo platforms.
Some of Shin ens strong middleware relationships:They have indeed, coded products for systems other than those released by Nintendo. Everyone respects Shin en. They are 5 dudes who know their stuff. When they say something, listen, no qualifiers.

Yes I know (since you posted that) It does in fact give me confidence though that they have touched the other consoles .But apparantly still not aware they worked on ps3/360 games.
Which was the point of my last post.
I'm hoping the CPU comes out much stronger than the 360s cpu but at a lower clock speed.

Is that so hmm after the 8 gigs of gddr5 ram hype is over this might be entertaining considering aswell the ps4 gpu is also only 1.8 tflops.have u noticed in ps4 cpu something very important? Jaguar cores designed for tablets and notebooks and everybody understands that tablet mobility hardware, is away to underpowered, be able to produce as much heat and consumption as possible... Thats why 3dude says all the time that wii U cpu is much more powerful... I give an other clue...
Wii CPU 1 weak core, was able to make 7 instructions per clock... Its jaguar core can do 2 instructions per clock.. 3 modern wii U cores = 12 jaguar cores.
Its more than enough for ps4 and 720 to have their physx run on that though... but its away to much for wii U also.

The Ram I feel is fine because 1 gig of game ram is still twice as much as last gen and I'm sure they will be a way to take OS ram to game Ram if it ever needed.
GPU so far seems great its clocked higher than the 360 and ps3 GPU and its much more modern,

I feel that might be about right I'm thinking 33-50% more powerful in specs but its modern architecture will allow it to do things more efficiently hopefully making it seem larger than that by a year from now.I've given multiple theories about the power of the Wii U but based on what I know right now, I'd go with my theory that it's about 33-50% more powerful than the 360/PS3 overall.
