#221828 Kamiya states he'd like to work on a Star Fox or a Takamaru's Ninja C...

After seeing TW101 and Bayo 2, I'd let him and Platinum make whatever they want. These guys are stellar.

#221827 The Wii U should have been as powerful as the Xbox one.

Posted by Crispy Bacon on 14 June 2013 - 01:54 PM in Wii U Hardware

Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2 and X look absolutely insane. I have no worries. And this is just the beginning. Nintendo's output will only get better. If third-parties put in the same effort with their offerings and truly take advantage of the U's capabilities, Wii U will stand tall and proud. Sure, the other machines have more under the hood, but the Wii U has shown that it can produce some amazing results. It's all about the games and Nintendo always delivers. I tremble in excitement and anticipation for Metroid and Zelda. I can't wait!

#221822 Final thoughts, reactions and raitings on E3 2013 for the big 3?

Nintendo

At first, I'll admit, I was pretty underwhelmed by the Nintendo Direct presentation. However, as videos and more media started to come out, I was quite pleased with what they showed. Sure, I was hoping for more surprises, but, overall, Nintendo has a great lineup on the horizon and I'm very excited. X, Bayonetta 2 and Mario Kart 8 look absolutely phenomenal. I was really impressed with what I saw from these titles. I even had to pick my jaw up from the floor a couple times. We also have DKC: Tropical Freeze which will undoubtedly be a stellar platformer. Zelda: Wind Waker HD looks great and I can't wait to revisit the game in glorious 1080p! Super Mario 3D World looks like great fun, though I was hoping for something a little more ambitious and thematic like Sunshine or Galaxy. Regardless, I have no doubt it'll be great! Wii U has some capable hardware under the hood and I'm excited for its future. On the 3DS front, I didn't really focus too much on the titles as I was really focused on Wii U, but I will definitely be picking up Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Yoshi's New Island as well. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team looks like a lot of fun too. If there's anything that really disappointed me, it's the fact that we didn't get any news about NN accounts no longer tying digital content to the hardware. I'm still hopeful they'll turn this around in the future.

Overall: 8.5 / 10

Sony

Not gonna lie. I still haven't watched their conference in its entirety. I plan to do so this weekend, but, from what I've seen, Sony is hitting all the right notes with the PS4. The hardware is very impressive, the DualShock 4 looks like a great improvement over DS3, the few titles I've seen look phenomenal and, most importantly, they're not pulling any BS moves like Microsoft in regards to software ownership, always-online and requiring a camera to be mandatory when in use. The PS4, at the moment, looks like it could very well be the PS2 of this new generation. I'm very impressed and super excited. I wish Sony great success! Only negative? I guess the fact that multiplayer will now be behind a paywall on PSN+. However, having researched PSN+ and all the benefits that come with the service, it's really hard to argue against it. And the annual price isn't bad at all.

Overall: 9.5 / 10

Microsoft

Such a shame. I knew, going into E3, all the negatives surrounding Xbox One. I actually did watch the conference and it was depressing. They actually have some impressive titles coming to the system. However, I cannot justify all of the negative aspects that come with the console. Always-online requirement, mandatory check-in every 24 hours, Kinect required, software pretty much attached to the hardware, used games, etc.. etc… It's just a giant clusterf***, IMO. Sorry, Microsoft. I loved what you gave us with Xbox and the 360, but I cannot bring myself to buy this disaster.

Overall: 3 / 10

#220205 Do you think x looks as good as ps4/xb1 games?

Posted by Crispy Bacon on 12 June 2013 - 06:38 AM in Wii U Games and Software

X's visuals are very impressive. I was concerned about Wii U's ability to compete with PS4 and XBOne, but those worries have been crushed. The other 2 machines are more powerful, yes, but I could care less. Bayo 2, MK8, X..... Nintendo has a very capable machine and this is just the beginning. By the end of the U's life cycle, we're gonna see visuals that'll melt our faces off. I'm excited!

#200376 Do you regret getting the Wii U?

Posted by Crispy Bacon on 26 April 2013 - 11:03 AM in Wii U Hardware

I see more potential in the Vita now that Sony is pushing really hard with indie devs.

Nintendo is pushing really hard with indie devs as well. All you ever hear from the indie community is praise for Nintendo's efforts/approach.

From May 15th to June 13th

#200322 Saw this in todays Sun newspaper.

It could still be a mis print or mistake by the newspaper.

Oh definitely. Anything's possible.

However, where there's smoke....

First of al not only is this a newspaper but its the Sun.

True, but would a Managing Editor from CNET intentionally make this up?

#200312 Saw this in todays Sun newspaper.

A leak in print seems pretty legit.  Was it announced for PC before?

Last I heard, R* was considering both a PC and Wii U version, but there wasn't a 100% guarantee it would happen. But now....

#200250 The Official "Should Iwata Step Down" Poll thread

I like Iwata and really hope he can turn things around over the next year. If he fails to turn Wii U into a success by then, he needs to be replaced.

Didn't stop them from announcing FExSMT. Is that not a third-party partnership/collaboration?
