Nice bundle! Wish they would've had this at launch.

Guess I should've been more specific. I wish they had this for the NA launch.

Next step: Let's see if Nintendo can properly advertise this.

#176520 Zelda U Ideas

Posted by Crispy Bacon on 26 February 2013 - 09:00 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Not sure how exactly this would work tbh. Actually draw the map, to scale? Could just make it automatic, as you walk around an area you see a map being drawn on the gamepad, but doing it yourself would get tedious real fast imo.

The GamePad would allow you to zoom in and out of your map and draw your map the best way you see fit(to scale or not). The canvas is yours to do as you wish. It's like the old days(well, for me at least :P) when we didn't always have strategy guides and maps and we had to draw our own. Only this time, you can save your maps and edit them as you wish on the GamePad. Though, as I said, I can see how this might be an annoyance to some gamers. It could definitely be tedious work.

With the GamePad, I would love a Zelda game where YOU have to draw out all of your maps. This applies to the overworld and dungeons. Whenever you enter a new area, your GamePad will allow you to start drawing a map with the stylus as you progress. Any maps you create for any area/dungeon will be saved and can be edited at anytime. You can also mark the locations of treasures, secrets, character locations, … pretty much anything you want. This feature would probably be more of an annoyance for some gamers, but imagine the immersion and feeling of exploration you'd have. You would actually have to work at finding your way around instead of relying on pre-drawn maps you find in treasure chests.

#226817 You can’t post screenshots of Square Enix VC games on Miiverse

You can't post screenshots of Sqaure-Enix games on Miiverse because Wii U doesn't support DX 11.1

#159851 XSEED announces Pandora's Tower for NA release

I figured I would post this here since Wii U can play Wii games. If a mod wants to move it to General Gaming, then feel free. :)

#159857 XSEED announces Pandora's Tower for NA release

I don't think it sold very well in Europe at all. It is odd that the game is just now getting a NA release. However, it's good to know that Operation: Rainfall was a complete success. 3 for 3!

#198894 WiiU Virtual Console Information.

Posted by Crispy Bacon on 23 April 2013 - 01:53 PM in Wii U Games and Software

God ikr? I LOVE Super Metroid.

Yeah, I wish they'd put Starfox and Yoshi's Island on the VC. I heard they didn't due to the games using is FX 2 chip. I don't know how true that is, but I'd really like to play both on my Wii U. I'm also looking forward to some Sega Gen, N64, and GBA titles. So much potential!

Hmmm... I don't know if the FX 2 has anything to do with those titles being absent or not. I refuse to believe they can't do it at all. Maybe some extra coding and tweaking is required for those games?

#198883 WiiU Virtual Console Information.

Posted by Crispy Bacon on 23 April 2013 - 01:26 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Yeah. I saw a video on their channel showing some more games than this, I was hoping we'd get more launch titles. Based on the video though we'll eventually get Kirby Super Star, Kirby Dream Course, and Kirby's Dreamland 3. We also have to remember the 30 cent promotion titles too.

Super Metroid.......on the gamepad...........it's.......almost........here!! :)

I really hope Nintendo is much more aggressive with the VC this time around. There are so many games we didn't get on the Wii VC. If Nintendo could get ALL of their back catalog onto the VC along with a huge variety of third-party games, they'd have the ultimate collection of digital titles. It would be a goldmine for them! I know the likelihood of that happening is pretty much zero, but there is so much potential there. A one-stop place for all your Nintendo needs.

Gotta get my Wii in for repair real soon so I can finally do my transfer. It still works, but certain parts of the system are corrupt and I can't access Wii Shop Channel for the transfer utility. Sucks...

Now, let's see if Nintendo can give us a steady stream of VC releases on a weekly basis instead of throwing out a few bones here and there. They need to stay consistent this time.

#198906 WiiU Virtual Console Information.

Posted by Crispy Bacon on 23 April 2013 - 02:09 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I don't know anything about hardware. Like, nothing at all lol. But from what I read, the Wii wasn't able to properly emulate games that used the FX 2 chip. The FX chip was a pretty revolutionary thing back when the SNES was out. It allowed for games to do things like have large sprites on the screen (Yoshi's Island) and helped render polygons (Star Fox). Anyway, so idk if we can get Earthbound, hopefully we can get Star Fox and Yoshi's Island.

I hope so too. It would be a shame for these two particular titles to completely miss the VC boat.

#162225 Wii U Virtual Console detailed in this morning's Nintendo Direct

Figured this deserved its own thread since we got some new details this morning.

Here are the details we know so far:

-Wii U VC Campaign, created to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the Famicom's release, will allow Wii U owners to download 1 game per month at the price of 30¢. #176756 Wii U version of Watch Dogs will not be a PS3 or 360 port

Posted by Crispy Bacon on 26 February 2013 - 03:44 PM in Wii U Hardware

A PS4 port? Wouldn't it make more sense to port from the PC and scale everything to take advantage of that console?

At least it won't be a PS3/360 port.

I believe the PS4 and Wii U versions will be PC ports. That's good because, as you said, they can scale the game accordingly and make it the absolute best it can be on each console. I expect the Wii U version to share more in common with the high-end platforms. Of course, that's all in Ubisoft's hands.

#177059 Wii U sales fall below PS Vita's for the first time

Ugh, that's depressing. Games and advertising. Games and advertising. C'mon, Nintendo, repeat after me.

#177066 Wii U sales fall below PS Vita's for the first time

Doesn't like.. 70% of Japanese households already have a Wii U?

If that were the case, Japan would have an install base of around 80 million right now.

#189616 Wii U port of Deus Ex: Human Revolution "is sharper than the PC version...

Never played this, but the effort they're putting into this is outstanding. I'm definitely intrigued.

#190064 Wii U outsells PS3 in Japan thanks to DQX and Game&Wario

If the Wii Us sales are going up after these titles released, then how mow much would they spike if a new SSB game released?

Here's to hoping. :D

#189613 Wii U outsells PS3 in Japan thanks to DQX and Game&Wario

Posted by Crispy Bacon on 03 April 2013 - 09:40 AM in Wii U Hardware

Perhaps, It was for the week of 25-31 March.  Not sure exactly when it released, this is a copy paste from another news source.

Just checked up on the release date and it was the 30th. So, yeah, I expect(and hope) to see greater numbers next week for Wii U. Hopefully, this game will grow some legs and bring in some good sales over time. I mean, it's DQ in JAPAN for goodness sake! :P

#189607 Wii U outsells PS3 in Japan thanks to DQX and Game&Wario

Not sure if true, but I read that DQX was only released for 2 days or so when these numbers came out. Hopefully, we'll see an even larger spike in Wii U sales next week.
