#241866 PS4 launch=Wii U price cut?

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 27 August 2013 - 01:26 AM in Wii U Hardware

Let's not forget that PS4 has a lot of people pre-ordering so that they can flip the system at a higher price.  I know several people at work and family who reserved 2 PS4's (they had another family member make the reservation) in order to flip the system for twice the price to some stupid fanboy who HAS TO HAVE the system on launch!!!

A new Wii U deluxe bundle with both Nintendo Land, Wind Waker HD, and a single $20 eShop credit for W101, Pikmin3, Lego City: Undercover, DKCR:TF etc for $349 would be an excellent deal for most people. Just as long as Nintendo launches the system a few weeks before PS4/Xbox-One launches.  It would also help if they keep the bundle until Christmas when Mario 3D world, Sonic, and Tropical Freeze releases as an alternative to families who won't find a PS4/Xbox-One for the holidays.  If they sell the bundle at $349; I am sure they would do a $30-$50 eShop credit (on select Nintendo titles) for those who decide to pick up the regular Deluxe version (if those even exist during the Wind Waker bundle).  They should also drop the ZombieU bundle to $349, as it would fly off the shelves at that price.

I had to laugh at this. At first I thought you were being serious through this conversation, but it is new obvious this is just a goof.

To say the only difference between the PS4 and the 3 is "slight graphical differences" truly is laughable.

The first generation games will be much better then what is coming out now 7 years into the PS3 life. Just wait for the next wave of games.

Also pointing out the failure of the PS3 at launch only strengthens my position. It flopped because it was too expensive for what you got. ... like the Wii U.

Oh yeah. There will be 4 free to play games available to check out on day one. Not the best. But Something.

There are also Free2Play games for Wii U...not the best BUT something also.

#241865 Wind Waker HD Bundle and Pokemon bundles rumored

No, it wasn`t me! Someone else made it. :D

I just saw it on these forums - i think - some time ago and i remembered to put it here again.

Oh thanks for sharing it anyways. I really like how the console and box looks.

#241864 Splinter Cell Blacklist graphics comparison VS PS360

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 27 August 2013 - 01:07 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Or that all the miiverse pics people were taking while playing pikmin 3 were pre rendered cg cutscenes. That was hilarious.

The way DesertPunk trolls is very similar to how another Sony fanboy behaves; you might know him as NinjaBlade.  The guy is absolutely crazy and firmly believes Red Dead Redemption is superior to Nintendo/Monolith's 'X' !!!

Does it look worse on wii u, I couldn't really tell by those images. I was quite pleased reading through it to see the wii u had no screen tearing and still a good frame rate but then the bombshell struck with the awful load times.

I mean come on the wii u has 1GB of memory and a very fast optical drive why is it slower? I can only guess it was due to uncompressing but then perhaps if they put more thought into it they could have optimised it more.

This feels like a game that could have been an outright victory for wii u even if the graphics may have had a few minor weaker bits and it was ruined by the loading time issue.

I'd also like to know the native resolution of each version. Not keen on 1080p upscaling being used to as the resolution. In which case every 360 game is in 1080p and the poor old ps3 can only muster 720p a lot of the time due to the lack of an upscaler built in. Not fair at all especially as all1080p televisions will upscale to 1080p themselves anyway. Yes I know upscaling in the console is better than the tv most of the time but not all the time as some televisions/projectors have some pretty amazing upscaling circuitry.

Can you clarify this point? Are you saying this shows the wii u weaker or stronger as to be honest as with most  wii u titles its hard to tell. No screen tearing great, horrible load times bad. It's hard to know what to prefer screen tearing or long load times. I believe there is also a missing feature or two in the wii u version.

All I care about at the moment is Zelda Windwaker and won't be buying this game until it hits the bargain bucket.

Great stealth trolling, almost believed you if it wasn't for your predictable history of trolling Nintendo.

#240947 Wind Waker HD Bundle and Pokemon bundles rumored

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 22 August 2013 - 01:20 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Could it be something like this:

wind_waker___bundle_by_wasabidesignband-

THAT LOOKS GORGEOUS...YOU SHOULD WORK FOR NINTENDO'S MARKETING TEAM.

Thanks for the tip. I generally don't use Amazon for gaming, but this may be an exception. Nintendoland may come with a possible Wind Waker Bundle anyway, because it came pre-installed in the Zombi U bundle.

Yeah, I think both NintendoLand and WindWaker HD will be pre-installed with the system.  If NIntendo was smart they would also include a promotional ticket ($15-$20 would do) that would discount their newly released titles like Pikmin3, The W101, DK:TF etc.

#240945 PS4 launch=Wii U price cut?

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 22 August 2013 - 01:15 AM in Wii U Hardware

With the Wii U still selling at a loss (I can't believe that they are still not making money off the Wii U...Nintendo needs to negotiate with their suppliers) I doubt that they would cut the price and bleed their profits even more.  I think instead they can make the Wii U a better value; for instance bundling the Deluxe with both NintendoLand and LoZ:WWHD pre-installed on the system, along with a $15-$20 off promotional ticket for the eShop on games like Pikmin 3, The Wonderful101, or LegoCity: Undercover, etc while keeping the system at $349.99.  They should do this before the PS4/X1 releases; maybe around the last week of October the latest.

#238706 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 12 August 2013 - 12:32 AM in Wii U Games and Software

This game if very refreshing.  It's very addicting and easy to play, yet challenging enough for those who want to play the game properly.  The visuals are a pleasant change to many HD games out there on the market.  It's like playing a real life INCREDIBLES movie mixed with some old school Japanese superhero quirkiness. A day one pick-up in my book!!!

#238703 Petition to bring Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to the Wii U!

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 12 August 2013 - 12:28 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Really not necessary at this point!!! With so much quality software coming out (W101, Pikmin3, RaymanLegends, LoZ:WW HD, Topical Freeze, Sonic: Lost World, SuperMario 3D world) this year and more next year  I doubt real Nintendo gamers have the funds or time to play anything else.

#237994 Pikmin 3, Does it do anything superior to ps360?

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 09 August 2013 - 01:19 AM in Wii U Games and Software

All these people saying Pikmin3 doesn't look like the screenshots either need to replace their TV's to HDTV's or don't simply own a Wii U.  Hey I love my Xbox360 w/Kinect but even I have to admit the stuff coming from the Wii U lately is legit!

Pikmin 3 was orignally being developed as a wii game. It only renders at 720p and upscales to 1080p (actually says this on the japanese cover). It is also missing anti-aliasing. It doesn't matter how the miiverse thing works if that is not actually graphics in motion. It's quite possible if you pause the game the wii u can do additional processing of the a still image to render it at a higher quality. Any console can do this and the process is well known from the days of Babylon 5 where images were created slowly due to lack of processing power to render them in full motion. It's not much different to pre-rendering if you are only applying extra graphic detail to a still image.

This is all basic stuff that shouldn't need to be explained. You should only compare full motion game graphics to be fair, not pre-rendered or still images. Unfortunately 3dude is not fair, accurate or honest in his views so this thread has basically turned to garbage.

yeah...yeah...yeah...same line from you all the time. Your post usually could be summed up as PS360 > Wii U no matter what happens. They are very highly predictable. I doubt people still take you seriously here.

#237992 The Wonderful 101 had Platinum's biggest team size and their longest de

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 09 August 2013 - 12:36 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Dude. Thats an article based off a Kamiyah tweet. Its fake. He trolls crap sites like kotaku all the time, when some fan asks him a stupid question, he gives stupid sarcastic answers, which are then taken out of context by idiot journalists, whom he tells to eat &%$^ (no, really)

Like when he said the w101 would be in stores next tuesday ....Two months ago *Kotaku reported*

Like when he said bayonetta 3 would be in an upcoming nintendo direct *kotaku reported*

When he said Zelda would be on ps4 if you asked.

And if hes not feeling up to putting out fake info, he tells you to ask your mom.

Congratulations. You are yet another person who was trolled by Kamiyah's twitter.

Oh, the games around 15-20 hours long. Which is pretty beefy for an action game.

I stopped reading when the site brought me to one related to VGChartz.  That site is full of Sony fanboys thus the exodus of Nintendo and Xbox gamers are becoming more and more pravalent each month.

#232424 How to market Bayo 2 into a success.

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 17 July 2013 - 11:10 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Let's not kid here Bayonetta is a niche franchise. Which in turn surprised me when there was such a backlash for the exclusive announcement for the Wii U.  The franchise had an extremely low attachment rate from last gen consoles that one would think that PS360 fans really didn't care about the franchise.  Well hopefully it will find it's fanbase on the Wii U, just as long as Nintendo markets the game upon release.

First thing Nintendo could do is to provide an incentive for potential Bayo fans to pick up the game. They could do this by bundling a cleaned up (glitches fixed) version of Bayo1 as an eShop download for the first printing of the game(first 60-100K)!  This would provide an extra value preposition for people to pick up the game at launch costing Platinum or Nintendo next to nothing. This also could provide additional revenue for Nintendo/Platinum if they sold the game for $15-$20 on the eShop to those who are not willing to pick-up Bayo 2 at launch.

Second, Nintendo must increase awareness for the title. Nintendo, could provide downloadable demo's on eShop and make the game playable on retail kiosks.  They could also provide some print ads next to said kiosks to show them there is a new demo available for this EXCLUSIVE GAME!!!   Nintendo's marketing team also should utilize social networks like FB, twitter, Mii-Verse etc to reach out to more gamers that may be interested in this franchise.  Finally they should do a Nintendo direct which provides adequate time for gamers to get excited over the game.

In all, the game has potential to be a successful core franchise on the Wii U as long as Nintendo provides decent marketing for the game.  They could do this by bundling the game with the original Bayo to provide extra-value to potential buyers on the fence of picking the game up on launch.  Nintendo needs to use ND, Mii-verse, demo's, and social networks which provide low cost marketing yet provides a diverse reach to many potential consumers.  Maybe one should bring this to the attention of Kamiya via twitter and see if Nintendo responds like they should?

#232415 Pikmin 3 is apparently selling well in Japan

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 17 July 2013 - 10:40 AM in Wii U Games and Software

No disrespect but your posts are always negative and even when someone posts something positive like in this thread you turn it into a negative. If you're that disappointed in the Wii U why don't you just sell it and why are you posting here especially all your negative comments.

It's called trolling.  Some people get off by putting down Nintendo consoles. They spend more time on Nintendo sites than Sony/MS sites as they can't stand to have anybody like Nintendo systems.  Maybe it's all the butt-hurt on how Nintendo has kicked Sony's ass on the handheld front 2 generations in a row!!!

#220129 Graphic-wise which game from the E3 direct do you think look the best?

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 12 June 2013 - 12:41 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Really? I think you need to go and look at them in HD and think about what you just said, they look like PS3/360 games.

LOL...then PS4/XB1 games look like slightly better PS360 games then :P

#210580 Could this be the reason for lack of power...

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 23 May 2013 - 03:56 PM in Wii U Hardware

Wii U is as underpowered to the PS360 as the 3DS is to the PSP.  Seriously, with what we've seen with games like NFS:MW, Trine 2, DuesEx:HR, etc. From what we know about the CPU and GPU from the die shots the Wii U is definitely on another weight class above the PS360; but below the PS4X1!!!

#191010 What Consoles do you have?

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 06 April 2013 - 10:36 PM in General Gaming

Home Consoles:

N64

Dreamcast

GameCube

Wii

Xbox360 slim with Kinect (gave the best experience out of the HD twins IMHO)

Wii U (my favorite system so far)

Mobile:

GameBoy Advanced SP

Nintendo DS Phat

Nintendo DS Lite

Nintendo 3DS (only dedicated handheld worth owning...PSV was not impressive)

had a PS Vita for 3months (got it as a gift...then traded it in for the Wii U while it still had value)

Google Nexus 4 Phone (best phone ever)

#191009 Wii U port of Deus Ex: Human Revolution "is sharper than the PC version...

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 06 April 2013 - 10:28 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I think you misunderstand what I said. What I was saying is that they could bring the Wii U version of Need For Speed to the other new next gen consoles as a director's cut and port the Wii U Deus Ex director's cut to them as well. I'm sure a lot of the additional features can be included on those consoles as they will be a lot more powerful then their current counter parts. As for second screen functionality the PS4 coud absolutely do it in conjunction with the Vita. They may not be possible on the Xbox successor although this is where they could possibly use the Smart Glass technology using tablets and smart phones. The functionality could be optional for those who have the hardware to make use of it.

That's why I think the Vita/PS4 connection is destinted to fail!!! Add-on devices (especially ones that cost $250-$300--vita) never become viable on consoles; you could see how well the Move is for example.  Unless they start bundling the Vita with the PS4 (an expensive endeavor) I wouldn't hold my breath on how much support that will get for Sony's new console.  Also, it's not like the Vita is a rousing success for Sony; in fact it's constantly getting it's butt whooped by the more innovative 3DS!

A couple of Unity games were up and running on the Wii U at GDC 2013. It's going to be very simple and cheap to port existing UNITY games on the system with the way Nintendo set it up (paying for the license etc).  Hopefully when this goes in full effect sometime in May (hmm..very close to E3) we could see some great games coming from independent 3rd party developers.

#187308 Unity and Wii U

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 28 March 2013 - 09:47 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Yeah should see a lot of apps coming very soon. But to me it shows Nintendo strategy is 1st and 2nd party, indie, apps , and the partnering with a 3rd party dev every now and then. So we will see how that works out. Just wish they could be this proactive with 3rd parties. It's shows they don't give a you know what and still play by their own rules.

Well they've tried to court 3rd party publishers for quite sometime now.  They either got gimped ports or inferior exclusives for their efforts.  The trouble with 3rd party (both western and Japanese) stems from sometime now during the nes and snes when Nintendo controlled 3rd parties with an iron fist.  Despite the changes within Nintendo,  3rd parties are reluctant to have them rise to what they were before.  Besides Nintendo console always relied on 1st and 2nd party software to sell systems.  Now they have a chance to start over and building good relationships with indies (nicalis, wayward, frontier, Shinen, Frozenbyte, Two Tribes, 5th Cell etc)

that have produced some great games.  Kudos to Nintendo for this...hopefully this means a strategic partnership(if not a stake) with Unity as that company is primed for success!!!

#187301 Unity and Wii U

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 28 March 2013 - 09:32 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Nintendo really should start investing in Unity!!! Those guys are gonna be HUGE...and probably the platform of choice of most indies and mobile games.  It would be wise for Nintendo to do this in order to secure crossplatform development on their current and future systems. Sure CE, UE, FB might be a smidge more advanced but those are for big developers; the future are the indie development studios!!!  So SCREW BF4 I'm all for independent studios which has more substance than style!!!

#187037 Unity and Wii U

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 27 March 2013 - 01:50 PM in Wii U Games and Software

i was talking about mighty switch force "2"and iv seen a looooot of bad indie games on xbox. ones that shouldnt even see the light of day.

Opps...my bad. Anyways, bad games are everywhere; even on the Wii U. One cannot deny that XBLA is currently the leader for indies with a lot of great games in comparison to some really bad ones.  I still believe if Nintendo plays it's cards right that the Wii U can surpass what XBLA did and be a gaming heaven for indie development!

#187035 Unity and Wii U

Posted by ElderKnight77 on 27 March 2013 - 01:47 PM in Wii U Games and Software

might switch force 2 is the sequel to mighty switch force.

Also, unity isn't as powerful as cryengine or unreal.

They already include licenses for it in the wii u devkit.

I know...but Unity is more of what fits Nintendo's philosphy (Wii U while above the PS360 isn't as powerful as PS4 etc) providing adequate and competent visuals while providing killer gameplay, art direction etc.  Besides the cost of UE and CE is prohibitive to most indie developers and is meant for big budget developers and publishers. Those guys seem to avoid Nintendo consoles like it had scabies (besides Ubisoft) ; hence Nintendo's best bet is being a haven for indies which has the potential to be big developers someday.
