#201594 Wii U impressions from older gamers?

Posted by dustinb12 on 29 April 2013 - 12:56 PM in Wii U Hardware

30+ here to say i was just discussing this with the wife yesterday. she bought me a pro controller for xmas and i've yet to use it at all. we only have a couple of games for it. here are the issues for me: just now getting VC which i play more than anything on my 3ds and things are a little pricey (understandably so). for injustice with the guide was nearly $100. for me thats way too steep for a game that only i will play. there also just isnt much going on with it yet, like they said "here is the wii u. its HD". my score is 7/10 for now, but after i get my mario kart/party and zeldas and hopefully something fresh im sure the score will go up to a 10. being an "older" gamer, i have seen this many times from nintendo over the years. Id blame ipads and iPhones for the way gaming is going nowadays, not nintendo

#194847 What do you predict the next 3D Mario and Mario Kart will be?

Posted by dustinb12 on 15 April 2013 - 07:13 AM in Wii U Games and Software

for the next mario I'm really hoping they revisit Isle Delfino and give me a new Sunshine. (not a remake.) The sun and sounds would be awesome in HD, but i must admit a Galaxy would sound and look great also. As for Mario Kart, id like to see Mario Kart Complete. Allllll the tracks, plus new ones and at least 50 characters. I want to race with a pianta or a goomba. And of course please bring back the riding partners from Double Dash! Also one of my biggest gripes on MK wii was you had to unlock all the goodies alone. In DD this could be done with 2-player, which is kind of the point of these games

#184634 What HD remakes of nintendo games do you want on wii u?

Maniac Mansion! Super Mario Bros. 2(USA). Castlevania 2 Simons Quest. and Pacman of course

#184633 Mario Party Wii U Wishlist

dont know if I'm the only one, but i really dig mario party 9. the boss battles were a great addition. i think it would be better if you could input your initials or show your mii when you break records on certain mini games (oldschool arcade style). maybe add some strategy to the boards, like on fortune street. some cards, or squares that mix things up. and how about a minigame creator?

#179469 Worry about the Wii U? Read this

Posted by dustinb12 on 05 March 2013 - 12:53 PM in Wii U Hardware

nice find. i must admit i keep getting a sinking feeling about my beloved nintendo, starting when i read the last page of the last Nintendo Power. obviously they've been playing catchup for a long time but now it seems like they've just lost touch.  i was 5 when the NES came out, was completely captivated from my first time playing SMB, and have been playing almost only Nintendo games ever since.(27 years of loyalty) Now i have a child of my own and i tried to turn her on to the 3DS, and she opted for the IPOD touch. she does enjoy the occasional mario party, kart, nintendoland sessions. Nintendo is missing that magical connection it used to have. If a Pokemon is the answer, crank one out and then try something new and fresh maybe. I will be heartbroken the day i have to play Zelda on a PS something or other

#172648 Should i get nintendo land?

Posted by dustinb12 on 18 February 2013 - 07:01 AM in Wii U Games and Software

i guess it would depend on your age and preferences. im a lifelong nintendo fan and it was a nobrainer for me. from the outside lookin in, it looks like its sweet soft and would get old quick, but there is some serious fun to be had here. metroid will suck you in. its fun and there are a lot more levels than it seems. some of the games are fun and easy, some are insanely difficult. its worth 30$, but i made it a point to buy the deluxe system to get this game in the box

thanks a million smbeats. i had this problem periodically from day one but i let it go thinking the wiiu is still new maybe its growing pains, but recently i had only the fake miis and no games showing, but miiverse and browser still worked. i followed your formula and now im back in action with no damage. i still have all my posts and Nintendoland saves. thanks

#165526 How is Skyward Sword?

Posted by dustinb12 on 01 February 2013 - 02:24 PM in Wii U Games and Software

im currently replaying Twilight Princess now, and if you didnt like it, you probably won't care for SS. I like it overall, but here are some dislikes i had: the motion controls were forced on you most of the game, there were times Link was very hard to control, the game is a little long. Now here's the real deal: if you are a real Zelda fan you're gonna love it for the story. It was absolutely stunning. The music was great, they added a few rpg elements that i liked. bottom line, if you didnt like TP and you don't have a lot of time to spend on a Zelda title, you may want to put this one on the backburner for a little while. But i wouldnt
