This will be my first MH game so I'm really looking forward to it, seen a few videos and it looks sweet.
Will it be better played with a large group?
If so I'll be adding all you guys as I'll no doubt need all the help I can get to begin with.

This will be my first MH game as well. I have heard they can be pretty difficult if you don't play with friends, and since I don't have any friends with a Wii U yet, I think I'll be adding some of you guys.
As long as you don't make fun of me if I suck.

Is it just me or do this game's animations look outdated? I would have expected something much better from a game released in this day and age, particularly from a developer like Gearbox...

I believe they have only shown the 360/PS3 version of the game. They are indeed building it from the ground up I think it'll blow their versions out of the water.

I love how there is always at least one person on Metacritic that gives a super positive review.

I've bought games that had horrible reviews and still loved them. Despite the reviews though I still think the Survival mode still sounds fun.

I just read the IGN review and I'm not buying their horrible review. It would seem that the reviewers big complaint was the enemy A.I. was terrible, I can see that being a problem but the rest of it just seems like he was being too picky.

IGN: 7.0 with a community score of 8.0

Gameinformer: 6.75 with a community score of 8.25

Metacritic: 69 with a community score of 7.6

Gamespot: 7.5

 

So for the people out there that care about reviews here's the break down of a few sites. When a score hovers around 7.0 it typically it's a good game, just not for everybody. Everybody who has played it has good things to say about it. I'm glad the game is coming to Wii U, I'll definitely be buying this game.

All the games you can play with friends I think I spent the most time on. If you were to add up all my time on my consoles and my friends playing Smash Brothers or Mario Kart it would be extremely high.

Pokemon as well, the game was great. It had hundreds of hours of singleplayer gameplay and you can battle and trade with friends. Being portable helps out a lot too.

We are talking about a dark, barely visiable image here. I'm sure the final version will look a lot better.

Couldn't wait to see what a talented company could do with the Wii U's tech. Makes me want to play the first one so I can get pumped for this one.

Didn't 360 have a FB app and then dropped it due to lack of interest? Skype would be a perfect fit so you could talk to people without a Wii U, which outnumbers people with.

If I had to put my money down on at least 3 of those annoucments, it would be more from Ubisoft. They wouldn't confirm or deny that they were making Wii U versions of Watch Dogs, Splinter Cell: Blacklist or Rainbow Six: Patriots. Considering how much support they have for Nintendo it wouldn't surprise me.

what is the point in releasing old games on the WiiU ?

Probably for people like me who wanted it but put off buying it. I'm happy to see it may be released for Wii U, as alot of other people that missed it the first time around too I'm sure.

then why not buy it for less than half the price now on your X360 ?

For alot of reasons, but mainly because I think a game like that would be enjoyable on the Wii U. I'm sure the game will have some enhancements, which I think will be worth the price.

But if nintendo does add them,what u guys not going to play wii u anymore!

Of course I'll still play, just think Nintendo is better off without Achievements/Trophies.

 

360/PS3 have them to give gamers more of a reason to keep playing the game and to add to the replay value. Nintendo has always been good a packing their games with enough unlockables and content to keep people playing without the use of these systems. If they add it then "Oh well", but I'd be happier if they didn't have to go there.

Nintendo consoles are still the top selling systems in Japan and they're dominating the handheld market worldwide. I can see them maybe scaling back from the western market some, but I wouldn't count them out just yet. I feel they could at least have one more console left in them.

Personally I have to disagree. Nyko are just as poor as MadKatz. The only consistently decent third party brand is Hori.

I've never actually saw anything from Hori. Don't think they sell that brand around where I'm from.

Nyko has been making very good quality stuff for Nintendo over the years. If it was from Madkatz I wouldn't even consider it.

Some of my best gaming memories came from the GC. I still believe the best games to date came out on the SNES and GC.

I'm not one that's too big on reviews. I've played tons of awesome games that got lackluster reviews. I'm still hoping for a Wii U release.

Saint Rows was purchased. Platinum Games also expressed an interesting in saving Darksiders. Who knows what will happen? Only time will tell.

Platinum Games put a big emphasis on "at the right price" when they talked to Vigil about wanting to buy them. If Vigil is willing to go low enough I think they will be bought up too. I hope so at least.

I also like how they got Jason Rubin to leave Naughty Dog and become the president of THQ only to have it go down a year later. He was supposed to turn the company around, now I just hope he can get his old job back.

I think it's a good thing that 3rd party developers are being cautious about the wii u. It hopefully means we won't end up with all the 3rd party shovelware that was on the wii.

It's unfortunate but Wii U needs all the support it can muster, even shovelware. But I think the real problem is that Nintendo can't land any exclusive 3rd party support targeted at mature gamers. Nintendo's exclusives are fine for the Nintendo fanbase, but to attract new fans we need our own Gears Of War and God Of War. Basically games that end with "Of War".

If you pre-order at gamestop you get the exclusive flamethrower and early access to the games new team deathmatch multiplayer mode.

is this the same version released on the PS3/X360 & PC or is the WiiU better ?

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Wii U version was actually being ported by Demiurge Studios. So while the 360/PS3 versions where reviewed poorly for horrible graphics (along with a ton of other reasons) the Wii U version still had hopes to be graphically superior. Gamepad support was also a big plus.

Gearbox sounds very sketchy, I will no longer support them after this nonsense.

Most definitely sketchy, but they have proven in the past that when they are working on an original IP and not some lisenced project or hand me down from 3D Realms that they can be pretty good. They should probably keep their games in-house and original.
