#250940 Deus Ex Wii U Version Will Be More Expensive Than Other Versions

Wii U Games and Software
It was revealed today that the Wii U version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut will be $50, while the game will retail for $30 on all other platforms. Many people were upset by this news, considering the game was originally supposed to be a Wii U exclusive.
A Square Enix representative got into contact with Kotaku and gave official reasoning for why the Wii U version is more expensive.
“This is the first time Deus Ex is available on the Wii U. We have an extensive feature set which makes full use of the Wii U GamePad, plus we were able to add exclusive features to the Wii U version which we think Nintendo fans will appreciate and truly immerse them into the world of Deus Ex like never before.”
It’s as I speculated in the original article, that Square Enix feels this version should cost more because this is the first time the game has been made available on a Nintendo console. Does this affect your purchasing decision at all? Let us know in the comments below.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut will be released on Wii U on October 22nd in North America and October 25th in Europe.
i was looking on another sight with this article as well and it seems a lot of people aren't happy lol. i font know how i feel but im leaning towards being okay with this decision.

This is in no way okay.
You know, if they actually attempted to specify those features instead of just saying there are features then maybe I'd more inclined to agree. They would have to be some bloody good features to convince it's worth $20 more but hey, you never know.
thats the reason why im leaning towards being okay with this. but like you said, yu never know. it could be just a costume or something...

"What's that? You want a multiplat to come to the Wii U? Well **** you! You get the game later! Oh, so you say it sold bad because it came out later than the other versions? Well **** you, we'll release it earlier and without DLC! Oh so you blame the lack of DLC for bad sales? Well **** you cause you get no online and we're charging you guys the same price for as the multiplat that has more content. The Wii U version sold bad? **** you! You're not getting anymore games from us because you Wii U owners obviously don't care about 3rd party games!"
agreed lol

When Super Mario 3D World was announced at E3 earlier this year, many fans of the Mario Galaxy series were upset that the new Mario title destined for the Wii U wasn’t from the Galaxy series. In a recent interview, Miyamoto has stated that the new game is intended to bridge the gap between Nintendo’s 2D and 3D Mario titles.
“Yes, with the Mario games you have the 2D side-scrolling games and you have the Mario Galaxy games, which are the 3D titles. People tend to prefer one of those over the other. What we tried to do with Super Mario 3D Land, and what we’re trying to do with Super Mario 3D World is to create a type of three-dimensional Mario game that bridges that gap. We’re trying to do that more with Super Mario 3D World, in particular with the gyro controls, and to try and do that in a way that will enable fans of both to really enjoy playing Mario.”
It’s interesting to see Miyamoto acknowledge that among Mario fans, there are those that prefer 2D titles and those that prefer 3D titles. Hopefully after Super Mario 3D World has been released later this year on November 22nd, we’ll see a Galaxy game teased from Nintendo for fans who want to continue that series on the Wii U.
lol i think i remember saying somewhere that this is what it felt like to me
I still think they shouldve done something like mario sunshine.
#251384 GameFreak says don’t expect Pokemon on Wii U or Smartphones

Wii U Games and Software
Over the weekend the newest installment to the Pokemon franchise was released. Pokemon X and Y is all the rage for Nintendo 3DS owners right now, but there are plenty of people who have been begging for a Wii U or even a smartphone version of the game. In the past GameFreak has stated that the Pokemon franchise is at home on Nintendo portables and director Junichi Masuda has confirmed the company still feels this way in a recent interview.
“You can trade and battle with people you’ve not met before. We think this mode of play is best possible with the Nintendo 3DS. If, for example, the Wii U were to be portable in its own right we’d probably reconsider. But for the moment we think the 3DS is the best device for Pokémon RPGs.”
The entire series got a graphical remake with the release of Pokemon X and Y, which no longer relies on sprite-based graphics, but rather cel-shaded graphics that feel much more console-like than previous Pokemon games. This has led many people to speculate that a main entry to the Pokemoon franchise could be released on the Wii U in order to boost console sales. That seems not to be the case, as GameFreak seems committed to the Nintendo 3DS has the home for the Pokemon franchise in the foreseeable future.
Damn :/ wouldve really liked a pokemon rpg even tho im not really into pokemon anymore...
#251836 Aonuma explains why The Legend of Zelda isn’t an annual series

Annualization. Activision is able to push out a new Call of Duty game every year. Ubisoft can make a new Assassin's Creed game every year. And lately, Nintendo has been able to get new Mario games out on an annual basis. But what about Zelda? We spoke to series director Eiji Aonuma about his take on annualization.
The Zelda series is actually no stranger to the one year turnaround. Majora's Mask was intended to come out just one year after Ocarina of Time. "This was an idea that came from Mr. Miyamoto," Aonuma explained. "The challenge he gave to me: to try and make a sequel to Ocarina of Time in just one year."
At the time, Nintendo thought that it would be possible to make a new game every year. "Ocarina of Time was the first 3D Zelda game. When you make a 3D game, you have all these 3D models. But in a 2D game, you're drawing all these 2D images. Even if you wanted to make another game right away, if the background is different, you actually end up having to re-draw everything. But in a 3D game, you can put those 3D models in different backgrounds and animate them," Aonuma told Shacknews. "So Mr. Miyamoto thought 'well, actually shouldn't this make it easier for us to make a sequel?'"
After many long nights, Majora's Mask launched less than two years after the release of Ocarina of Time. The Wind Waker followed two years later, on Gamecube. However, releases between the console games have slowed down considerably since then: four years for Twilight Princess, five years for Skyward Sword. According to Aonuma, the pace is intentional. "I think before, we did maybe try to make Zelda games come out faster. But there's so much expected of Zelda titles now, so you have to reach a certain level of quality, so that's why we started to take a bit more time now," he told us.
"I don't think it's necessary that development needs to be longer. But to reach a certain level of quality, there's just a certain amount of time that's needed," he explained. "Obviously, the company is telling me that I need to put games out as quickly as possible."
While Aonuma and his team are currently working on a Zelda game for Wii U, Nintendo has done a remarkable job of keeping the franchise in the spotlight thanks to its handheld games. "It's not like we feel like we have a duty to get one out a year," Aonuma said. "Right now, we're able to split ourselves between the handheld and console games and have two teams. I think we're pretty efficient in getting games out on a regular interval."
Nothing you couldnt have guessed yourself, but it was a nice read. im glad they are taking their time with this game. cant wait to hear about it E3 2014 ![]()

The article is long and I'm on a tab so... I don't want to go through the hassle. BUT
even if this guy says it shouldn't be....it still is by law. I don't think nintendo can sue the is guy but I know they cand request to have it removed. Honestly I know this sight won't really hurt them but it still technically is illegal so Nintendo does have the right to btch lol

#252512 Nintendo Says More Cross-Play Titles Are In The Works

Nintendo has confirmed that it will support cross-play between the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U with non-Nintendo platforms, including other consoles. The Kyoto based company alsostated that it is committed to helping developers use this feature. Currently, the main game to support cross-play is Pure Chess, which is likely to support cross-play with PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita. Nintendo also says there’s more games using this functionality in the works.
“We can confirm that cross-platform functionality is possible in certain titles that play on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, as well as other video game systems not made by Nintendo. We are committed to helping developers realise the full potential of their software on Nintendo systems.”
“We can confirm that Disney Infinity from Disney Interactive Studios, Cubeman 2 from Three Sprockets and Pure Chess from Ripstone, all have the ability to play on Nintendo systems while at the same time communicating with consumers using those same games on other systems. Additional games using this functionality are in development.”
this needs to implement this into call of duty and battlefield.
#252979 Sony tested Nintendo-like controllers during their testing phase

“A touchscreen was another idea that we had. We actually tested it, but [besides cost factors], our game teams felt like having to look down at the controller is not what they want to do. They want to have the consumers concentrated on the big picture that they show [on the TV].”
Apparently the configuration of the DualShock 4 almost had a Wii U Pro Controller configuration too, as Aoki mentions that a DualShock 4 controller with both sticks at the top of the controller was prototyped even before the design of the Pro Controller was revealed.
“When Nintendo came out with that, we were like, ‘Wow, that’s just like our prototype!’ That surprised us.”

I am sorry, I am not trying to be rude.
I have always hated the Xbox Series. Nintendo has been my favourite, and I play Sony consoles. Basically saying, the Xbox One is not as powerful as PS4, its more expensive and its probably one of the most hated consoles out there, I mean have you seen the reviews.
I respect your decision but it may not be worth the cost.
I'm a Nintendo fan boy but I say if you hav to get a second console, then get an xbox1 it has many features and completely redid their controller (all Sony did was put a stupid touch pad on it ), it has all the kinect features which are pretty cool if this Nintendo fanboy says so himself lol. It connects everything in your living room like Nintendo tried to do and you get a blurayplayer. It will he my second consol if i decide to get on.e
