magiciandude, on 09 Jun 2013 - 05:36 AM, said:I'm sorry, but I just cannot bring myself to support Pac-Man. Aside from the fact that I want Lloyd from ToS way more than Pac-Man, the Pac-Man universe just doesn't have much to offer in terms of content.

Just think of him as one of those characters you never thought you'd like but once you use him you'll have a lot of fun. If you've played all 3 Pac-Man World games you'd know what I'm talking about. I always say this because MOST of the time people talk about how they don't like Pac-Man or he can't fit well, but those people have never seen or more importantly played the Pac-Man World series.

CookieEpic, on 09 Jun 2013 - 07:57 AM, said:This has probably been said already, but what about the extreme slim chance we get Quote in the new smash bros?
Yes, cave story isn't exactly well known to people, but i still think it would make an amazing moveset.

I know nothing about Cave Story, is it strictly Nintendo? Quote looks like a cool character so I'd like to see him in. I want a few characters I'm not familar with.

magiciandude, on 09 Jun 2013 - 7:54 PM, said:That's not my point. What I mean is, what does the Pac-Man universe have to offer in terms trophies, Assist Trophy, and most importantly the music? Obviously the stage will be from the original arcade, but after how terrible the arcade stages were in Brawl, I do not want to see another one. The reason I want Lloyd isn't just because of him, but because of what the Tales universe can offer in terms of Trophies, AT, and the music. The Tales series has some kick ass battle themes that would be great for SSB4.

Trophies: Pac Man Ghost, Ms.Pac-Man, Pac Man Jr,
Assist Trophy: Pac Man Ghost could move around the stage dealing dmg to whoever runs into them.
Music:

Lloyd is cool & all, but I believe if Namco is going to put a character of theirs into the game, they'd go with someone more iconic, or atleast someone from a series they plan to make games on the Wii U for.

Enjoy

About Pac-Man

Pac-Man's moves could easily go like this:

Melee moves: Consist of different punch/kick combos

Special: Rev roll: Attack where here charges & rolls fast. This move could be cancel into other specials or melee moves for mix-ups.

Side Special: Pellet Throw. In Pac-Man World 1 you practically did nothing but pellet throws to kill the final boss toc.

Down Special: Butt Bounce. Pac-Man does 3 butt bounces in a roll & is quite mobile while doing so making his butt bounce unique & better than bowser & yoshi's butt bounce.

Up Special: Pac-a-Dot Trail. Tether recovery consisting of pellots.

His grab would actually be him trying to bite you, get attack is a bite & then you can throw your opponent in any direction.

Pac-Man can definitely happen, and his chances are pretty good.

Can't wait for the trailer!!

I'm very curious about the Ganondorf's design. Or even if he will be in the game... I don't think he would be out, but I don't wanna see Twilight Princess Ganondorf again. I would be happier if they put Ocarina Ganondorf again (since Ocarina 3D is a recent game). Are there any chances of get Ganondorf out and put Demise or Ghirahim?

magiciandude, on 10 Jun 2013 - 6:38 PM, said:Wow, that music was meh at best. I figured that's the only thing they could for trophies and AT. Like I said in an above post, the Tales universe has a lot to more offer. That basically confirms my thoughts about the Pac-Man universe having just about nothing interesting. The iconic argument is garbage when relevancy is brought up. What's the last Pac-Man game released that wasn't a remake of the original arcade or sports spinoff? Pac-Man World 3? Which I heard wasn't even that great. Before you bring up the upcoming Pac-Man, it's only based on the upcoming cartoon and anything non-video game related is off-limits in SSB.
You know why the Tales universe should be in over Pac-Man? Because the Tales series definitely needs a boost in recognition in the West moreso than Pac-Man. Marth and Roy in SSBM are the best examples, it's what brought Fire Emblem to the US. That sort of promotion could help Tales being released in the US more often. Plus since Tales games play almost like SSB, it would be an easy transition over SSB4. Another thing to note: one of the Tales developers said they wanted a Tales character to appear in SSB4 and one of the Tales directors is producing the game, so I'd say it has a good shot. Source. If you're familiar with how Snake got in SSBB, then it shows that a Tales character does have a chance.
Now these are what you call battle tunes:

You've made it clear yourself that Tales needs a boost, it's not that relevant right now. Sakurai isn't just looking for sorry games that need help bro lol. The tales creator doesn't even plan on bringing any tales games to Wii U right now either, I doubt he has interest in bringing it to Smash. Lol @ the pac-man relevancy thing though AS IF Pac-Man needs to make himself more relevant than what he already is. He's a gaming icon, a legend if you will. Tales will NEVER catch up to his status, & I'm just speaking truth here. With that said, we are both just speculating. In the end I could honestly care less which one of em makes it in, I'm only interested in playing & scrapping people online & at tournaments once it comes out.

I prefer Karma btw. ;)

The way they did it last time was, there were 3 tournaments in 3 different places. Los Angeles, San Francisco & Boston, all 256 entrants. The player who won the tourney at each place got a BUNCH of prizes & then a ticket to participate in the finals in NY. Waiting on line was long but funny & the tournament of course had a lot of people. REALLY hope they do it again so that I can join!

I REALLY hope Nintendo does a release tournament for SSBU like they did for SSBB. I couldn't join because I was too young but my friend got top 32 out of 256 entrants with Samus.

Limelight788, on 29 May 2013 - 01:59 AM, said:I'd like for everyone here to take this poll.

A friend of mine (who made a previous poll that reached 2000 votes before, but had twenty-five characters) has created a new poll that consists of virtually every character someone wants to see. The poll has not only characters, but also stages, Assist Trophies and bosses available as well. First part is characters, the second part is stage and finally Assist Trophies and bosses.
Make sure to vote for who you want and not who you expect. This is a want poll, not an likelihood poll. You also only get one chance to vote, so vote wisely.
I am really crossing my fingers for a Mega Man confirmation at E3 this year. Mega Man is my most wanted character and my favorite video game character, so I'm really hoping Sakurai gets him in. Not sure if he'll be at E3 due to there being a decent chance of another third-party getting in, but I'd say he has a good shot of making it mainly due to his iconic status and his massive popularity.

As for characters I expect at E3, those would be Ridley, Palutena, Takamaru and Little Mac, although the only character I want that I could see at E3 is Mega Man (anyone else will probably be either a DOJO reveal or an unlockable).

The MegaMan SSB4 Thread (from Smashboards) listed alot of good reasons as to why he should n could be playable. If we get a capcom representative, it should be Mega Man.

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY NEED IT TO BE MEGA MAN X THOUGH.

I'm hoping for an online ranking system. With SSBB, there was no way to tell who the top players were online. (Brawl wifi is kinda bad, but that's another story.) A ranking system will get more people into the competitive aspect of Smash & make players want to improve and rank up. A 1v1 "With Anyone" option would also be nice.

What I want even more is for people to put in as much work as they do into wish list & speculation, into actually getting good at the game lol. All this time put into simply predicting + wishing won't even matter once the game is actually out. What will matter is if you're good at the game & if you even enjoy it.

I really hope Sakurai has a leaderboards for SSB4, can't wait to start playing online!

I can't wait to see how large and in-depth the stages are. I want lots of them too.

Agreed (on the first part). However I hope they make more balanced stages as well, stages suitable for tournament/competitive play. I think the amount of stages that SSBB has are good, now I just want new ones to replace old ones.

These stages for me are a must keep: Smashville, Halberd & Lylat Cruise (revamped). I didn't mention Battlefield & Final Destination since those two stages are obviously gonna be on the next one.

I was referring to how people label lower-tier characters as "crap" as if they're garbage and completely unusable. Lower-tier characters more or less put their user at a slight disadvantage.

And how do you come off judging my skill level based off my opinion of a character I use? As a counterexample, I've seen a lot of crappy players that use high-tier characters to compensate for their lack of skill at the game. Last time I checked, Meta Knight was banned from tournaments because he was so high on the tier list.

Looks like you were too busy being offended by what I said to actually understand it. You & players like you need to realize that there are CRAP characters in this game, if the top players with each characters has already proven this, opinions don't even matter, it's been proven already lol.

I didn't even specifically judge your skill level, I clearly said that I noticed a trend of how people LIKE you who says the Tiers 4 Queers bull crap never disprove the accuracy of the tier list. They talk talk talk but never go to a tournament with good players in it, then talk about how they're good at the game because they can beat their noob friends lolz.

If your Mewtwo is good, go to a melee tournament of atleast 32+ players & place top 8. If not then you can't back up what you say about the tier list. :Y

EDIT: Meta Knight was banned for like 2 1/2 months in some parts of North America lol, the rest of the world didn't even apply the ban.

Sure some characters can place good in a tournament, but you'll never see even the best Link player place top 4 at a national tournament lol.

Yeah I mean i don't really pay attention to tiers either, I play who I like playing with. Like Olimar!! And Wolf!! I wish I could play Melee... But I haven't played in so long, I'm terrible at it xD

And I know!!! Ahhhhhh almost only two months away!!!

The purpose of a tier list isn't to stop you from playing the character you like.

lol, Tiers R 4 Qu- yeah. And I really don't see why so many people deemed him a "bad" character. I kicked *** with Mewtwo. He was my second favorite character, next to Falco.

AAAGH I CAN'T WAIT FOR E3. I WANT TO SEE SOME SMASH BROS 4 FOOTAGE.

A large part of the tier list is based off of tournament results. The top players show how good a character can actually be, or show the character at it's current max potiental. Unless your Mewtwo kicked *** at tournaments with players who are actually good at the game & you consistantly place high with him, you only prove that your mewtwo can beat random scrubs/intermediate players, which of course means absolutely nothing if we are talking about which characters are the best at the game.

I've also noticed a trend, majority of the people who believe the whole "tiers 4 queers" crap are the bad-intermediate players. They NEVER actually disprove the tier list accuracy.

Unless items are spawned at specific places at a set time interval, don't count on items being used in tournaments.

That aside E3 is but a month away meaning Smash 4 visuals & info coming soon!

zaine10, on 10 May 2013 - 03:19 AM, said:I'm really looking forward to this game, I kicked ass at the first two. I never went to any tournaments but I could hang with the best of them. Me and me brothers used to play all the time, but this time around I'm thinking I may indeed go to a tournament because I believe I'm good enough to win one.

If so, check out Smashboards. You'll find tournaments happening near you.
