#222301 XBOX ONE conference games, played via a high end pc with NVIDIA gpu

Posted by ifrit05 on 15 June 2013 - 12:28 PM in General Gaming

This doesn't surprise me, them being M$ and all. Although couldn't they just use the dev kits if One isnt finalized yet???

#180160 Would you like Facebook, Twitter, and Skype on Wii U?

Posted by ifrit05 on 07 March 2013 - 07:13 AM in General Gaming

I've often wondered about this myself. Skype seems like a perfect fit. I really want to try out the chat feature with someone to see how the camera performs. IDK about FB or Twitter, I think Nintendo will stick with Miiverse for a while. I've often thought about a Pandora app also, I think that would be pretty neat.

#250095 Wind waker HD hard copy No instruction pamphlet or booklet?

Posted by ifrit05 on 06 October 2013 - 11:23 PM in Wii U Games and Software Help

Yes I too miss the times where I was more interested in reading the manual first before popping in my new game. But look at it this way; all Wii U games cases are "Eco-Friendly", ie thin/less plastic. Nintendo is really trying to "Go Green" this Generation which is amendable (All manufacturers should do this, DVD/BD, CD, PC, Games etc). They would rather have a digital version of the manual accessed by the console then use up valuable resources (Trees) making thousands of Game Manuals.

Now that's not to say I would love for them to be just really High quality Profession PDF-Like scans of the original/old style manuals with art and stuff but meh, if it's not broke...

I'm not an environmental activist, just my two cents.

#177767 Wii U Price Discussion

Posted by ifrit05 on 01 March 2013 - 01:11 AM in Wii U Hardware

And because it is even worse the the name Wii. Why Nintendo Why do you insist on these names?

Nintendo explained this a while ago. Look at the Letters.

Wii

It symbolizes "We", as in together we'll play, and the "i"'s are meant to resemble 2 people playing a game.

And that's where the "U" comes in, meaning that the original Wii was about playing with friends and family, while the Wii U is all about... Well... You as the player and how the system is tailored for the individual. (i.e. the gamepad can't really be shared at the same time you' re playing a game and still be fun, just like a portable console.)

Hope that made sense lol I'm sooooo tired hahaha.

#248578 Why you should avoid Windows 8.

Ok, my bad. But still try to enter a factory reset mode. Look up how to do it on your laptop model.

#248395 Why you should avoid Windows 8.

Posted by ifrit05 on 27 September 2013 - 08:41 PM in The Café

Oh man, OS/2... I almost forgot about that lol. Good times.
Anyways I upgraded to Windows 8 on my PC and yeah it's alright once you get used to it. Would be better if I had a touchscreen though.

But Linux distros are still my number one favorite OS to use. Try Ubuntu, you might like it.

Seems like it was updating and you bricked it. Nothing a Factory Reset can't fix. Look up how to use that for your PC model. :)

#247303 Who here has photo ID on you?

#180392 Which Wii U Do You Have?

Posted by ifrit05 on 07 March 2013 - 04:11 PM in Wii U Hardware

Deluxe for me, made the most sense. I was already getting Nintendo Land, so the $350 price already cut off $10 from the price. Plus the addition of 32GB, the Deluxe Digital Promotion, and extra stands were all worth it for me.

^^^ This. Deluxe here. :D

#250091 Where are you in Wind Wakee HD?

Posted by ifrit05 on 06 October 2013 - 11:03 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Bought the Disc on the 4th and I just got the Iron Boots and Power Bracelet.

Spoiler

I think I'm gonna map out the Great Ocean before that though, never did on the Gamecube. I think I'm actually gonna try to get everything this time around.

Gotta say, I'm really loving this port. All the music is amazing. Especially the File Select theme, Outset Island, and Windfall Island. Nintendo did a really great job with my favorite Zelda game. :)

#247150 What music are you listening to at the moment?

Halo 2 soundtrack.... Yeah I'm a nerd. :P

#179325 What are your impressions on the OS so far?

Posted by ifrit05 on 05 March 2013 - 02:14 AM in Wii U Games and Software Help

Overall I'm quite satisfied with the OS for only owning the console for a few days. The Miiverse integration is awesome and I love seeing all the posts and amazing sketches from people all around the world.

The ambient music/jingles are a BIG step up from the original Wii's menu music and channel themes; they sound like actual songs now instead of chipped music and are a lot less prone to cause headaches (in my case). I love how on some titles/apps the music coming from the TV and gamepad are not the same, but work together to make a really nice sounding song; I actually turn the console on just for the music sometimes (I wish Miiverse music lasted way longer...).

Now I know the system is not without it's flaws. I have had to cut the power from the console a few times due to system lockups, but that's not surprising due to the systems age as of now. Give it time and let the system flourish!

I couldn't get the remote feature to work with my Insignia 32" so I haven't really messed with TVii a whole lot...

I can't wait to try out the chat feature and get my hands on some Virtual Console titles! I never played VC on the original Wii but I think It just seems right this time around with the gamepad and all.

Holding my breath for the Spring update! What new unannounced features do you think Nintendo will add to the system besides the obvious speed improvements and added Miiverse functionality?

#220298 The new Mac Pro

Posted by ifrit05 on 12 June 2013 - 10:27 AM in The Café

I have about 23 older Macs from before the intel transition. I use my PowerMac G5 all the time lol. This new Pro design is just fugly, but I can see what they're talking about because the G5 gets hot like no other, so this could be a good cooling idea.

#233372 Soul Calibur 2 HD Online coming to PS3 and 360

Posted by ifrit05 on 19 July 2013 - 11:09 PM in General Gaming

Oh man I love the SC series, started playing from the very first game (Soul Blade) and was instantly hooked. SCII is by far my favorite. I was ecstatic when they announced exclusive characters and gasp, LINK WAS THE GC EXCLUSIVE! Hands down my favorite version of the three (GC>Xbox>PS2 IMO).

Awesome news but alas, I do wish they would of considered re-releasing it on WiiU.

#199824 So how about this update.

#252426 sabotaging the wii u

Posted by ifrit05 on 20 October 2013 - 09:54 PM in Wii U Hardware

(Back on topic) Well Retailers are kinda confusing people when they themselves don't know the difference between the Wii and the Wii U. Not to mention little to no shelf space for Wii U games/consoles/kiosks.

#220063 Remember the Miiverse Mock-up? that got leaked awhile ago?

Posted by ifrit05 on 11 June 2013 - 08:48 PM in Wii U Hardware

Its funny that the first ever metal gear game was actually on a nintendo console lol.

The first Metal Gear was actually on the MSX in Japan, the American NES port is far inferior to the original in terms of translation, graphics, story progression, and overall quality.

#233373 Religious Cartoon About Obediance to God

The title of this thread intrigued me, any chance of finding the name of the video so I could fish for it?

EDIT: NVM, I found it... pretty creepy and all.

#240392 New WW HD screenshots show smaller HUD, decreased bloom effects, download 2.6 GB

Posted by ifrit05 on 19 August 2013 - 11:41 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Hmm... I can't say for sure which I like better... I think IMO the bloomier (is that a word? lol) shots are better. But I do like the fact that the HUD size is decreased.
