#39720 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion Thread

Posted by Zuperman on 30 October 2011 - 03:08 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Looking forward to this one, I enjoyed Melee and Brawl but never really mastered them, I will for this one.

I think SSB Wii U should give each character 3 different final smashes.

Basic Final Smash: The smash ball looks like the smash ball we already know just being mostly blue. It allows the character to unleash a basic move eg Mario's Finale, Ness's PK Storm or Samus's Zero Laser.

Assist Final Smash: A smash ball taking on a mostly red colour which appears to emit a signal type wave. It sends the character floating behind the stage as his/her friends from his/her gaming history take on the opponents, Kind of like Pit's Palutena's Army. Possible examples could includ Sonic calling on his Wisp's to reek havoc on the stage, Yoshi calling the Storks to spear and carry off his opponents and Bowser sending out his Koopa kids to do his bidding.

Transform Final Smash: Smash ball is green and looks wavy as if it's about to hatch or transform. Allows the character to transform into something like how Bowser transforms into Giga Bowser or how Sonic turns into Super Sonic. Possible examples include Mario/Luigi using a Mega Mushroom and stomping on everyone, Kirby turning into a tank to crush and shoot missiles or Link turning into Wolf Link and does whatever Wolf Link does.

What d'ya think?

That's quite possible, as the Wii U has power arguably superior to that of the PS3 and 360.

I think 3 times as powerful is kind of a big exaggeration, but it's still plenty powerful enough to make graphics look stunning and smooth.

Yeah, there could be quite a lot of content, let's hope Nintendo takes advantage of the power in their hands.

Oh yeah, with the Wii U's power SSB4 should do fine with running online. Plus, since MK7's online is surprisingly deep, It's almost a given that SSB4's online will be pretty darn big.

I've heard lots of complaints that Brawl was unbalanced. Do you think this'll be sorted out?

Oh yes I've heard tripping is a problem. But when I was talking about the game being unbalanced I was referring to the power of the characters. What's the deal with that?

#39714 Wii U Price Discussion

I'm gonna guess the Australian price will be $550. Me and my bro will probably work together to buy the thing.

I just want more first party titles that aren't gore filled shooters.

Strange, I could of sworn that I added to that post saying I accidentally left them out, I'm quite looking forward to SSB4, not so much Pikmin 3 but you never know...

Just wish we could get more details. Probably when the year is up.

#39716 Origin of your username

Posted by Zuperman on 30 October 2011 - 02:39 AM in The Café

Well I was thinking of a cool email address involving a nick name, and I thought replacing the S with a Z in Superman would be good because it sounds good and personalizes the name. I'm not a fan of Superman at all, really.

Lol, I don't really like Superman, like at all. I just thought this name sounded cool and decided to have someone make me an avatar for it.

The closest thing I've come to regularly watching an 'anime' is Ben 10 when I was younger.

I don't care for anime, it's just I find it kind of weird and cheesy.

Not sure what you mean here..what are basic slow movements for?

Like waving the controller over the screen.

It sounds like you're suggesting that if the controller was waved around frantically, it will lose the ability to stream video at a decent frame-rate? Isn't that the point in bringing up the connectivity?

I was talking about how 'pointer' movements (which may disconnect or not work properly at times) won't be used with the Wii U, so it's not like you'll be using motion controls and it'll go out of sync or not register the movement correctly.

I think the connectivity will be fine, it's not going to use pointer controls so you don't have to be very precise, just basic slow movements.

Bowser Jr would be cool, I have a move set planned out for him.

#39718 3DS - Wii U Connectivity Speculation Thread

Posted by Zuperman on 30 October 2011 - 02:58 AM in Wii U Hardware

3DS and Wii U connectivity has been confirmed, right?

Hmmmm... Maybe you could 'tether' your 3DS' StreetPass Mii Plaza to the Wii U, and use the Wii U to play different StreetPass games that you can't on the 3DS?

StreetPass With Other 3DS Systems Through the Wii U Console, With No Local Contact

I think that the Wii U will allow you to effectively StreetPass your 3DS data with your friends without having to actually be physically near them.

  • Your Wii U console will download your 3DS StreetPass data.
  • Then Your Wii U console will upload your 3DS StreetPass data to your friends Wii U consoles.
  • Your friends’ Wii U consoles will download their 3DS StreetPass data.
  • Then your friends’ Wii U consoles will upload their 3DS StreetPass Data to your Wii U console.
  • Your Wii U console will then upload the StreetPass data that it downloaded from your friends’ Wii U’s to your 3DS system.
  • Your friends’ Wii U consoles will then upload the 3DS StreetPass data that they downloaded from your Wii U console to their 3DS systems.

Thus, you will be able to StreetPass with them without being physically near them by doing it through the Wii U console.

I think that takes away from the 'feel' of StreetPass. I get excited about seeing that beautiful green LED because I know that I've passed a fellow 3DS owner I don't even know, but have made a connection. Knowing that I've made a mark on an unknown's 3DS feels cool, and gives a sense of community.

#58500 Retro Studios are working on a Wii U game

Aren't they also working with members from Naughty Dog? This should be good...

#39719 Wii U power

Posted by Zuperman on 30 October 2011 - 03:02 AM in Wii U Hardware

I think the power's good enough. I think all current home console's graphics are good enough, they all have the potential for stunningly beautiful looking games.
