#211497 Xbox One Haters: Does this change your opinion?

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 26 May 2013 - 03:25 PM in General Gaming

My "hate" for the console comes from the forced Kinect usage.

I don't need a camera in my house that watches me whenever I'm in the room,

listens to everything I say, monitors my heart beat and facial expressions.

All this while being connected to the internet so it can stream this information freely.

Absolutely no amount of games or features is ever going to make me consider buying one.

So no, this doesn't change my opinion in the slightest.

#209933 Rare to show HISTORIC franchise at E3

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 22 May 2013 - 01:02 AM in General Gaming

Rare's developing skills have fallen off a cliff since Microsoft bought them,

most of the people involved with the N64 classics have left.

They company has been restructured to focus on Kinect games,

it's not the company it was during its glory N64 days.

I used to adore RareWare.

Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong, Banjo-Kazooie and GoldenEye 007 are some of my all time favourite games,

but nothing about this announcement has me excited in the slightest.

Why create a new topic?

#209486 Xbox 720 Official Reveal Thread

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 21 May 2013 - 10:09 AM in General Gaming

Am I the only one who never watches tv?

All the things they showed look impressive but are of absolutely no use to me.

All the tv sports stuff hardly applies to people outside of America...

The speed of the system is quite impressive,

but whats with all this CGI cut scenes...

#208389 Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games Wii U - Gameplay Footage

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 18 May 2013 - 12:57 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I haven't bought a sports compilation game since like 1996,

but I think I'm going to give this one a try.

I like the way the characters look as well,

would love to see what this looks like in person.

#208387 How is Pikmin 3 Interesting?

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 18 May 2013 - 12:35 AM in Wii U Games and Software

That's a strange way to look at the game really.

It's like saying all you do in Mario is collect Stars.

It's not about the star, but about what you have to do to get it.

While collecting fruit you're fighting different types of monsters and bosses,

all of which react differently to different types of Pikmin.

You can explore, what appear to be, some decent sized worlds.

Manage your Pikmin, as they all have different strengths and weaknesses.

Reset days to try and optimise your score.

Learn level layouts so you can use the 3 characters to your full advantage.

Look at the full game, not just the end goal.

#199701 No Nintendo presentation at E3

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 25 April 2013 - 05:45 AM in Wii U Games and Software

:( thats disappointing. that means No Information On Mario 3D U, Mario Kart U, Wind Waker HD, Zelda U, or any other software/games for 3DS and Wii U.

Maybe you should read what his actual statement was?

Instead of one presentation that covers everything they will have closed presentations for the media and shareholders,

and a few smaller ones focusing fully on all the software.

This is, in my opinion, a lot better.

They need to show the world games and that's exactly what they're going to do.

#199100 Poll: Which dev do you most want to see on Wii U the most?

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 24 April 2013 - 01:38 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Given the options, I went for Square Enix.

Valve and Bathesda are pc games for me.

The other companies would've never popped in my head.

Crytek and Rockstar

Otherwise, I agree with this ^

Preferably new IP's instead of existing ones.

#199098 Nintendo expected to announce second straight loss Tuesday as Wii U flops

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 24 April 2013 - 01:21 AM in Wii U Games and Software

87% of Americans....

That seems just a tad high

source?.

I think its a case of misreading information.

http://www.gamesindu...f-female-gamers

"87 per cent of those identified as gamers had recently played on PC or Mac, 50 per cent on Facebook and 28 per cent on smartphones."

The statement also says "recently", meaning they could play on different formats as well.

(as pointed out in the next sentence in the article)

Furthermore, this article is 2.5 years old,

a time when facebook gaming was rather high.

(personal experience here, last year the invitations to games for me has declined rapidly)

I'm not too familiar with the smartphone gaming market,

but I have very strong doubts that it makes a significant impact on the console and handheld market.

At least, not anymore.

The article was focused more on casual gaming, leaving out all the people who only play consoles.

This should conclude how small the mobile gaming market actually is compared to the rest.

#198886 I fail to see any evidence of Big Guns from Nintendo at E3 :|

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 23 April 2013 - 01:39 PM in General Gaming

Exactly my point. Lego City they took some of the risk, considering they published it.

http://www.amazon.co...I0K3PM?d=d&pd=1

Not co published. They published it.

You may have miss read gecko's post.
I think you actually agree with him.

He said its not possible without Nintendo paying for the game.

You gave examples of 2 games where exactly that happened.

So you're basically on the same wave of thought.

#198864 Outlast; scariest game out there atm?

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 23 April 2013 - 12:31 PM in General Gaming

So ign posted a video of some people playing this game,

with headphones, in a dark room.

I'd love to try this one.

#198853 Nintendo E3 2013 Lineup

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 23 April 2013 - 12:16 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Just about all of the actual games that they showed off at E3 2011 became actual games: Chase Mii and Battle Mii became Mario Chase and Metroid Blast in Nintendoland, the pirate rhythm game is going to be in Game amd Wario, and NSMB Mii is NSMBU. Ghost Recon Online seems dead now though, and there there was a little competative drawing game that didn't get much coverage. As for the Bird and Zelda Demos? That would be cool for a bit, but I would eventually get bored with it.

I think he meant that during the conference the demo's will be available for download at home.

Being playable until the conference ends.

I also think he confused it with last years Blizzcon where they talked about such an idea.

#198781 Road Rash spiritual successor confirmed for Wii U

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 23 April 2013 - 09:21 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Looks quite brutal, wonder if it'll be as fun as at it looks.

Kicking someone into an oncoming truck and chopping someone's head off mid-air is always a good way to spend your day.

#198237 CVG Rumor: Nintendo will release significant Wii U games this holiday season

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 22 April 2013 - 12:51 PM in Wii U Hardware

That's some interesting news right there.

I'm trying not to get hyped for E3, but its becoming increasingly difficult.

#196848 Here's 22 Minutes of Mario&Luigi: Dream Team

Looks quite fun, though he's making it a bit tedious by removing luigi from that special dream thing all the time :P

#196846 Nintendo Direct 4/17/13 Recap and Discussion Thread

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 19 April 2013 - 03:38 AM in General Gaming

it sounds like they made the game a LOT easier, which is extremely dissapointing because the difficulty of play was what I liked about it...

The decreased difficulty is an optional mode,

if you want to play on normal Wii difficulty, you can.

As they said, it's a portable game and you might not have as much time,

to sit down and play through a difficult level over and over again as you have with a console game.

#196399 Place your bets! Who is Nintendo's partner announced at E3 bigger tha...

Though i am hopeful that Nintendo has something big planned for E3, i don't think any of this means anything <_<

Oh I wasn't actually referring to an unannounced partnership anymore,

just that E3 will have some surprises.

Though I wonder, if they announce and show things like Zelda in a Nintendo Direct,

what do they have left in store for E3.

Maybe they want to fully focus on Wii U at E3 and get the big 3DS announcements out of the way.

The plot thickens...

Reggie says: "...the pace of launches has been slower than we hoped.

But as we prepare for E3, the pace of launches for Wii U is going to dramatically increase..."

#196061 A Link To The Past Sequel announced for the 3DS.

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 17 April 2013 - 09:52 AM in General Gaming

I thought it might be the stamina gauge from Skyward Sword. Why would a hammer need magic?

Good point, would make more sense.

Still interesting that certain items require stamina then.

What's interesting about that is while I was at Gamestop picking up Injustice, the floor manager asked if I wanted to preorder BF4, knowing that I was interested only in Wii U titles.  I told him that I wasn't prepared to preorder it because I wouldn't be able to play it on Wii U.  He said "Wait until after e3, the number of titles for Wii U, even from EA, will at least double"

Did I just get a little unintentional inside scoop?  I need to call my buddy at the Jacksonville NC gamestop to check this out.

Interesting.

Let's hope he's not talking out of his ass.

A month ago there was a quote from Gamestop CEO which sort of ties in with this.

#195945 A Link To The Past Sequel announced for the 3DS.

Interesting to see that all items use magic and it regenerates automagically.

Could add some more strategic decisions in battles.

All items shown in the clip anyway.

#195937 Mario Party and Yoshi's Island announced for the 3DS + Donkey Kong date

Posted by TheSparrow87 on 17 April 2013 - 07:17 AM in General Gaming

Y'know Yoshi's Island would be the perfect series for handrawn graphics. It would really help the style of the old games shine in present times... Am I the only one who thinks the Yoshi & Baby Mario models look like garbage, along with the enemy models?

They look a bit different than I would've expected,

but I hold out on judging 3DS games until I see them first hand.

Youtube videos never do the games any justice.

YOSHI'S ISLAND IS GETTING A REMAKE!?!?...Oh Sh!t >_<

Not a remake, another sequel I think.
