Well, when I found this fourm I was eating some Doritos (Cool Ranch flavor to be exact [not those horrible Taco Bell things that'll probably give you dysentery]). I was trying to think of a user-name (first thought was "The Duke" when I realized how easily that could be used against me), and I decided that TheDoritoKing (CamelCase necessary) was a fine name to use.

I showed my friend Nano Assault Neo, and he said I mus have a good gaming rig (note: my PC is terrible). When people think your console looks like a good gaming PC, you know you're no slouch in the power department.

As both are cartoony games with unique art styles, the difference will be negligible; realistic, resource-milking games would be a better indicator of power. It seems that Knack or whatever it's called is going for a Disney/Pixar look while The Wonderful 101 is aiming for something new.

If the Wii could play The Conduit, then I'm sure that the Wii U can pull its own weight this generation.

The Gamecube & Nintendo 64 were more powerful than what Sony put out and didn't do too well; Wii was much weaker than the Playstation 3 and sold like... something that sells extremely well. Nintendo sees that their more powerful hardware doesn't sell as well as their cheap ones.

The Xbox 360 sold more than the Wii, so your argument is invalid.
Where the monkey ____ are you getting your numbers? The Wii has sold almost thirty-million more worldwide than the Xbox 360.

Graphically, the Wii U will be worse, but not by a very big margin (it'll be noticeable, but the U won't be much worse). The PS4 has more RAM, but with all the cloud gaming, background updates, streaming, and more it won't be able to even put half of it in pure gaming.

I agree with you but, for people who can only get one console and want the Nintendo exclusives it sucks because then they can't play some of the great multiplatform games like GTAV
I always found myself getting bored of the Grand Theft Auto games after about six hours. Once the initial shock value wears off the game starts to get mind-numbing, it's like half the shows on [adult swim] in that respect.
#214323 Why people say Wii U is "current gen", and why they're complete d...

These people claimed that the Wii was weaker than the original Xbox, and still called the Wii next-gen; The Wii U is clearly better than any current consoles and yet they're trying to tell us that it's on the same level (if not lower than) the PS360. The Wii U uses PowerPC architecture (like current machines), but meaty enough to be competitive with x86 machines on the horizon. They take that the PowerPC guts means it's weak, but in reality it produces sufficiently similar results in a different manner (sadly, this'll screw us over with 3rd parties who can't be bothered with actual porting). They say that because the Wii U cannot play Blu-Ray discs, it's last-gen compared to the PS3. The Wii U uses modified Blu-Rays (or at least Blu-Ray capacity discs) that read differently as a form of copy protection (and don't most of already have at least 3 things that can play Blu-Rays, or even have On-Demand?). And using the "it came earlier than the others" argument would mean that the Dreamcast would be with the PSone and N64 (an idea that'll get you laughed out of the room anywhere, any day of the week). I say we let them have their repetitive SBPBF (Shoot brown people because freedom) games (they say Nintendo is repetitive? Super Mario Sunshine has more variety than the entire CoD franchise!) while we enjoy actual innovation!

I'm pretty sure they'll go and pull out all the stops thanks to (currently) poor sales. But if they do manage to ____ up I'll probably get a decent gaming PC.

Although I've never been a fan of FPSes (sans TF2, love that game), maybe a CoD/Battlefield-style exclusive would help reel in some of the "hardcore" crowd, not to mention show off the Wii U's 1090p. Y'know, give XBox fanboys something to envy, something to admire.

It's different from other next-gen machines and lacks the user base of current ones, and there lays our problem; developers can't be bothered to do anything more than a slapped-together Xbox 360 port that nobody wants.

I'm laughing at the fact that they are making an Xbox One version, a console that is not popular in Japan or if anybody in the world wants it besides casuals that do not know the flaws behind it, and the series never once made it into a Microsoft System.
I agree that it's insane for S.E. to put any RPG on Xbox: the domain of EA sports tiles, overpriced online that should be free in the first place, and bro-dude FPS fanatics too stupid for PCs since 2001; with the same Japanese support as Taco Bell. I heard Microsoft actually paid for a ton of once PS4 exclusives to come to their XB1, so that could be a factor.

Wii U isn't powerful enough to run battlefield 3.
No chance of running Battlefield 4.
Please tell me you're sarcastic
. Anyway, to my understanding the Wii U is two 360s taped together in the same sense that Wii was two GameCubes taped together, so it could indeed run it just fine.

Goodtwin, on 08 May 2013 - 12:02 PM, said:You cant go from an "unprecedented partnership" to practically no support, and not have some salty feelings with one another. EA is revel in the beautiful sunshineed at Nintendo for not taking Origin, and with lackluster sales of their launch Wii U games, they now have thier excuse to eliminate support. Not releasing games on the Wii U that you are releasing on the 360 and PS3 means that the power of the Wii U is not a factor. They can make all the back handed comments they want, but if their game can run the 360 and PS3, it can run on the Wii U.
EA probably does think that they can sink the Wii U, and would most likely take a lot of satisfaction in the Wii U fading away now that they arent support the console. Will it happen? I doubt it, the lack of support from EA would be devastating for the Xbox or Playstation, because their titles are very popular on those platforms. EA titles just dont make up a huge chunk of software sales on Nintendo platforms like they do on the competitions platform. Nintendo and EA both have big ego's, and they both feel they are more important than the other. The fact is they would both be better off doing business together, but the relationship has been soured, and I doubt its going to be mended any time soon.
From what I heard, EA wants royalties on every single game sold off the U's eShop (they may've helped set it up). Sega makes a game? EA gets paid. Indie developer makes a game? EA gets paid. I can safety say that Nintendo wouldn't want to deal with them after that

EAis a company that: _____ on PC gamers to the point of mass boycotts, then ragequits on Nintendo (loosing two major platforms); gets voted worst company twice in a row, and can look forward to a third; and still expects to stay in business. If that isn't the sadist thing you heard all day, I don't know what is.

I imagine after the metric tons of negative press, Microsoft really had no choice but to ease off restrictions. And on another note, when they say "The Kinect won't send or record any information without your explicit permission", said "explicit permission" will be in the Xbox Live user agreement.

I don't think it has a target audience
I assumed it was for kids too young for the 3D feature; those who can't see the 3D feature, or it just makes them sick; or those who couldn't afford a normal 3DS but still want to get their hands on Pokemon X/Y.
#245174 Exactly how much of a downgrade would a PS4 game suffer on Wii U?

Lets take Battlefield for example, you have a giant map filled with buildings, grass, detail etc. The only real thing taken away would be the amount of grass on the field (The Ground Clutter) and tone down a tiny tiny bit on the detail. Overall, it wouldn't effect your personal gameplay experience unless you're a graphics whore. The game will run just as good as other consoles, just slight alterations.
But for less detailed games like fighting games, there wouldn't be any downgrade at all since their isn't really much there to begin with.
Seems about right, and most graphics-junkies usually go for ludicrous $900+ PCs and brag about them on /v/ anyways. But many fighting games do have quite detailed graphics from what I've seen.

People are getting there hopes up too high, this is oviosly new version of the Pokedex 3D app on 3DS.
I agree, the background does look too realistic for a Wii U game.
Huh, that's around PS3-level looking graphics to me, the Wii U could probably pull it off.
