#235904 Your Video Game Budget for the rest of 2013?

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 29 July 2013 - 08:21 PM in General Gaming

Sonic Lost WorldThe Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, and maybe some Virtual Console games that come along for the Wii U

Pokemon XCastlevania: Mirrors of Fate, and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team for the 3DS

•A PlayStation 4 console (really don't want to, but you have to go where the games are) with Battlefield 4 and maybe some downloadable titles.

•Some hats and keys for the PC version of Team Fortress 2

A rather costly endeavor, when I think about it.

#214011 Your favourite thing about the Wii U

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 31 May 2013 - 05:06 PM in Wii U Hardware

So many things I can't just name one! The GamePad is the first really beefy controller since the Xbox's "Duke" (as a gentleman with big hands, this is important for me); zero-hassle backwards compatibility (Xbox One and PlayStaion 4 won't have any b.c. at all), on top of the Virtual Console; full 1080p Smash Bros (it will come, and it shall be glorious); full versions of AAA titles on a Nintendo console (and not waggle-infested PSP games); a wonderful lack of shovelware compared to the Wii; and a whole lot more.

#224378 Xbox one will not require internet acces. and will alow used games.

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 19 June 2013 - 08:42 PM in General Gaming

I imagine after the metric tons of negative press, Microsoft really had no choice but to ease off restrictions. And on another note, when they say "The Kinect won't send or record any information without your explicit permission", said "explicit permission" will be in the Xbox Live user agreement.

#229716 Xbox One Is the New Sega Saturn?

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 07 July 2013 - 02:49 PM in General Gaming

•Both are big, hulking, black machines (at least bigger than their competition)

•Both by companies that had successful machines this/last gen

•Both predecessor consoles have less-than-stellar add-ons

•Both are $100 more than their main competitor

•Both have fumbled pre-release announcements and decisions

•Both have their main competitors destined for greatness (or at least massive popularity)

Segata Sanshiro won't be here to save you, Xbone.

#229734 Xbox One Is the New Sega Saturn?

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 07 July 2013 - 04:03 PM in General Gaming

Can you explain why it's add-ons are less than stellar?

I can't really voice my opinion because I was young during the time Sega Saturn was released.

I'm talking about the 360's Kinect and the Sega CD/32X.

#236721 Would you buy a Knuckles' Chaotix remake?

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 02 August 2013 - 04:28 PM in General Gaming

Personally I would love to see a 2.5D remake of this *relatively* forgotten 32X gem, with the characters having their modern designs and a remixed soundtrack. Sadly, I doubt that Sega would actually go for it; they seem to prefer that this game never existed.

#235071 Wonky GamePad Magnetometer?

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 26 July 2013 - 02:58 PM in Wii U Hardware

I got Game & Wario and noticed that some of the mini-games (namely Pirates and Arrow) tend to control a bit strangely as they go on, like the GamePad goes out-of-sync and can't tell where it is anymore (the other games, and everything else about the GamePad, seem to work); has anybody else had issues with this?

#198286 WiiU Virtual Console Information.

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 22 April 2013 - 02:13 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Please please PLEASE have a GameCube VC Nintendo. You don't really how many people would jump for joy if you did something like that. On ther other hand though, can't wait to download and play Super Mario World again. haven't played that game in ages.

I'm still trying to figure out how they'd deal with the Gamecube's analog shoulder buttons (sans Z); perhaps a new Pro Controller?

#214869 Wii U version of Arkham Origins won't be getting Deathstroke DLC

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 02 June 2013 - 05:10 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I'm pretty sure that the Wii could do DLC (I think the only game that did have any was Samba de Amigo), but there simply wasn't enough storage space.

#199879 Wii U Profitability (not a doom 'n' gloom thread)

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 25 April 2013 - 01:56 PM in Wii U Hardware

The Wii U at its current price takes only two games to make a profit. If the 720 and PlayStation 4 are going to cost a reasonable amount (less than five-hundred dollars), they'll take at least four full retail games just to break even! So I'm saying that even if the Wii U sells less (about a 3:4 ratio) to the others it won't be the end of the world!

#216317 Wii U need a 3rd party Partner at E3.

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 05 June 2013 - 05:54 PM in Wii U Hardware

All very possible. I think Google Chrome is next!

But let me be clear: NINTENDO DON'T LET GOOGLE TOUCH YOUR MIIVERESE APP!! THERE WOULD NEVER BE WINDOWS 8//WP8 SUPPORT OF GOOGLE DOES THAT APP!!!!!

I don't think Microsoft wants Nintendo games competing on their own turf, so to speak. I'm sure that the Xbox One will however have a very solid connection/application/syncing with Windows 8 and Windows Phone, all of them being by Microsoft after all.

#215266 Wii U Goes On Nationwide Tour

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 03 June 2013 - 04:00 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Possibly Nintendo is just outright fed up with the lack of awareness of the Wii U, and are basically saying "Here! Look at it! It's a whole new ____ing system! It does HD and everything, it's not just a controller!!!"

#230852 Wii U Firmware Update 3.1.0 is live

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 11 July 2013 - 04:38 PM in Wii U Hardware

The delays are because they're just trying to get it right the first time, and didn't anticipate the manpower needed for the Wii U.

#191389 Wii U Bloom and Boom

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 07 April 2013 - 07:20 PM in Wii U Hardware

Also they took away my childs safety!

Allowing 18 year olds to buy games at any hours?!

What is this, Russia?!

Like I can be bothered to use the parental controls to restrict access to my children myself, that should be the shops job!

Sorry, but you're either a troll or lazy! I don't use the parental controls myself, but I seriously doubt that it can take longer than 10 minutes to fully set up barriers.

#229644 Wii U 3rd party games should be done like AC:3 was

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 07 July 2013 - 10:44 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I found that Black Ops II  (despite the flaw of having no Wii U DLC), handled the GamePad exceedingly well. A full map, ScoreStreaks, objectives, etc.; it's useful, but not obtrusive or needed.

#214801 Wii mode upscaling

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 02 June 2013 - 02:38 PM in Wii U Hardware

It looks somewhat ugly on my TV (32" 720p): the icons and text are readable, but the models are pixellated and the textures look a bit worse than they do in SD; because I have the screen zoomed out so I can see the full picture (I know they fixed the overscan issue, but it's never really been an issue for me), Wii games are letterboxed as well. Wii U graphics and games are simply beautiful, however.

#214323 Why people say Wii U is "current gen", and why they're complete d...

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 01 June 2013 - 02:05 PM in Wii U Hardware

These people claimed that the Wii was weaker than the original Xbox, and still called the Wii next-gen; The Wii U is clearly better than any current consoles and yet they're trying to tell us that it's on the same level (if not lower than) the PS360. The Wii U uses PowerPC architecture (like current machines), but meaty enough to be competitive with x86 machines on the horizon. They take that the PowerPC guts means it's weak, but in reality it produces sufficiently similar results in a different manner (sadly, this'll screw us over with 3rd parties who can't be bothered with actual porting). They say that because the Wii U cannot play Blu-Ray discs, it's last-gen compared to the PS3. The Wii U uses modified Blu-Rays (or at least Blu-Ray capacity discs) that read differently as a form of copy protection (and don't most of already have at least 3 things that can play Blu-Rays, or even have On-Demand?). And using the "it came earlier than the others" argument would mean that the Dreamcast would be with the PSone and N64 (an idea that'll get you laughed out of the room anywhere, any day of the week). I say we let them have their repetitive SBPBF (Shoot brown people because freedom) games (they say Nintendo is repetitive? Super Mario Sunshine has more variety than the entire CoD franchise!) while we enjoy actual innovation!

#240655 Why is Sony getting so much indie love...

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 20 August 2013 - 09:45 PM in General Gaming

I understand the Wii U... but I was talking about the 3DS! That thing is selling crazy dude!

Exactly my point, and even breaks their "Nobody's buying it, so it's not worth our money." argument over Wii U development. The 3DS is selling extremely well and yet somehow it's not good enough for them; but the Vita is apparently fine with them despite much lower sales.

#240612 Why is Sony getting so much indie love...

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 20 August 2013 - 05:24 PM in General Gaming

The least they could do is put the indie games on the 3DS too! This is just biased when they put the games on the vita which no one has... and not on the 3DS!

Ignorance.

That is insane! Developers won't put games on the Wii U because it won't sell, but they'll go ahead and shove them on the mostly-dead Vita. I'm sadly going to main PlayStation 4 this generation (as I said earlier, developers don't care for the U); but the Vita can go ____ itself for all I care.

#209140 Why EA's non-support of the Wii U will draw in third parties

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 20 May 2013 - 02:33 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Julio93, on 19 May 2013 - 10:50 PM, said:Showing no support to a console and calling it crap will draw in 3rd party.....How in the world does that even make sense.

EA already has a really bad reputation with the SimCity fiasco and day 1 DLC, not to mention is a massive bully. I seriously doubt that developers not connected to them would listen to a single word the spew. Ubisoft and others have said very good things about the console as well.

Desert Punk, on 20 May 2013 - 05:45 AM, said:Ubisoft are supporting the wii u despite minimal sales of their software because I guess they believe Nintendo will bounce back and are prepared to make a loss on wii u games in the short term. EA games seem to be intent on doing the maximum damage to Nintendo at every opportunity and they are damaging Nintendo.
It's clear EA made no effort with their wii u games previously with the exception of Criterion and are now trying to kill it off best they can.
I guess they want to a 2 horse race for the next generation.
The trouble is it's not in Nintendo's interest to work against EA. All they can really do is improve their market share and hope EA starts supporting wii u but emotionally I'm sure that is not what they want to do.
EA is a hard company to like.

Trust me, when the big AAA games roll out and sales pick up, suddenly EA will say the Wii U has/had "untapped potential".

#208939 Why EA's non-support of the Wii U will draw in third parties

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 19 May 2013 - 06:29 PM in Wii U Games and Software

As we know, EA is a massive company with major franchises like Battlefield, Mass Effect, future Star Wars and NFL games, etc.. We also know that none of these are rolling out of the Wii U. This means that the likes of Activision and Ubisoft as well as many other publishers and developers won't have to compete with such big names, and feel less threatened on U releases. On Microsony's machines competition will be fierce for consumers' money simply between publishers. Nintendo and EA stay away from each other, and there is much more breathing room.

#208520 Why didnt Nintendo just make wii u more powerful?

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 18 May 2013 - 12:06 PM in Wii U Hardware

The Gamecube & Nintendo 64 were more powerful than what Sony put out and didn't do too well; Wii was much weaker than the Playstation 3 and sold like... something that sells extremely well. Nintendo sees that their more powerful hardware doesn't sell as well as their cheap ones.

#220490 Why didnt Nintendo just make wii u more powerful?

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 12 June 2013 - 01:54 PM in Wii U Hardware

The Xbox 360 sold more than the Wii, so your argument is invalid.

Where the monkey ____ are you getting your numbers? The Wii has sold almost thirty-million more worldwide than the Xbox 360.

#227177 Who would you want developing a potential Wii U Star Fox?

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 28 June 2013 - 11:15 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Sega made Panzer Dragoon, F-Zero GX, and has lots of experience with fast-paced arcade shooters. Maybe they could add *a few* elements from Star Fox Adventures to add a bit more depth. But Reggie help them if it goes anywhere near the 3DS; we need a complete Wii U exclusive to entice gamers.

#237874 Who buys a Nintendo console for third party multiplats, anyways?

Posted by TheDoritoKing on 08 August 2013 - 02:04 PM in Wii U Hardware

I agree with you but, for people who can only get one console and want the Nintendo exclusives it sucks because then they can't play some of the great multiplatform games like GTAV

I always found myself getting bored of the Grand Theft Auto games after about six hours. Once the initial shock value wears off the game starts to get mind-numbing, it's like half the shows on [adult swim] in that respect.
