lets be honest here, mario 1 was a very small fraction of the game that new games are in terms of content and manhours/resources. Yes, there are nasty dlc practices, but some devs release a full game, and continue working on the game releasing new things as dlc. That I dont mind, in fact I really enjoy it. I love finishing with a game and feeling like it's complete, then having somehting added on for a few bucks.

Stop pretending dlc is the devil.

Asian business practices are a joke. They have no concept of letting some of their rights go to make more profit. Nintendo videos on youtube are in no way losing them profits, infact their probably helping them. Didn't EA start making new copies of skate 3 solely due to pewdiepie playing the game on his channel? I've purchased numerous games based on let's plays and streams I've watched.

I live in korea and companies do the same thing. Me and a buddy used to go to this mom and pop dunkin donuts 3 times a week and my buddy would always ask for a little milk for his coffee. After a couple of months the owner thought she was being ripped off and started charging us $2.00 extra for a little milk. So they lost our business for the future over a quarter cup of milk 3 times a week. Nintendo is doing the same thing here. They're exercising their rights sure, but their alienating thousands of potential customers in the process.

Just because you have the right to do something, it doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.

This is the hardest introduction to the series I've played so far. DeS, DS, DSII all had a fairly gradual curve up to when you were suppose to die for the first time, this game is literally death 10 steps in. It's brutal. Then there is no hand holding at all. I've only played a couple of hours and just got to the second boss, but wow. The second boss feels harder than the last boss in DeS. Maybe it's because they took the shield away, but it's tough. The moves aren't as predictable and they can add a second or third attack depending on the players proximity.

It's awesome though, not sure if it will have the depth of the other souls games, but time will tell. The lack of customization, weapons and armor bother me slightly.

I do this really weird thing with video games, music and movies. I watch/play/listen to what is fun. I know! It's crazy. If something gives me some enjoyment to an extent that I think I've gotten my money's worth, I'm generally happy! I know, I should really be worried about the state of video games and the "bigger picture" but I honestly dgaf. If my buddies all want to pick up the newest COD game and play over skype a couple of hours a week? Sure, it's totally worth it. Watch dogs? It's a fun game, what's wrong with that? Do you not remember the pile of pure rainbowe that made up 95 percent of wii games? PC games? this newest trend for paying for a game that isn't even finished yet? I'm sorry, but sometimes I want a big budget, stupid popcorn movie/game to enjoy for a time.

I get tired of all of this hyperbole about the state of video games. Play what you want, don't play what you don't want. If you can't find something you want? All the better. Learn a frickin language or something.

FFVI, before the series went completely off the track into nonsense story land. (FFIX and FFXII being exceptions)

On topic: Sony still believes that their name alone gives them the right to charge a premium for their products. Unfortunately, the rest of the world has more than caught up and has lower prices. Sony needs to make a good product, sell it for a competitive price and stop assuming that people still gaf that they're Sony.

I belong to an FB XBone group b/c I took the plunge and got a Madden XBone bundle.... It was funny to hear these people talk about how they didn't really care about the graphics so much. But they will turn around and diss on the Wii U for not having enough power.

That's like comparing an Acura NSX, a Nissan 300zx and a Dodge Neon. Two of these will have "enough" power, one isn't even in the conversation.

I've never played, advocated, or sang the praises of Titanfall.

 

I just find it incredibly pathetic that every game that isn't something Nintendo-related or doesn't line up with your particular likes is suddenly AAAAAAAAAAAAA 'garbage' just because you dislike it.

 

Seriously, just lay off. We all know you hate anything by a major publisher, no need to regurgitate it on every news posting about their games.

 

Heck, that's why I barely post or talk here anymore. Anything that even minorly supports a franchise that you, 3Dude or a handful of other people around here is almost immediately met with vitriolic negative reactions to the point of not even wanting to bother with posting anymore.

I can see the quality of software lacking for the device. The novelty may wear off quick when the software seems more like a tech demo or half finished idea.  It's a pretty huge undertaking and it's not like Sony devs have been lighting the world on fire with continuous quality content for the ps4.

 

It may go the way of the vita at least regarding direct support.

 

Whether that is legit or not, we already know the console's cpu is a bottle neck as stated by a variety of devs. I think the problem with morpheus is people are setting themselves up for disappointment because they wrongly expect the quality of software and graphics to match what's already on the PS4.

yikes, if people are expecting the same level of graphics on a vr then yea, fair enough. I've already realized it's impossible to expect ps4 level graphics on a ps vr device, so I guess I've saved myself any trouble. I just have issue with "some dev" being quoted as saying a certain device will fail, etc, etc.

If the PS4 can hardly do 1080p on its own, how are the developers going to tackle 1080p times two, at 120 FPS?

on topic: With the amount the ps4 has sold world wide, if they're smart, the morpheus has the potential to do well. either way, vr tech is improving and i'm excited to finally be able to go into games!
