I'm having the same problem now, working yesterday just fine, woke up this morning and it wouldn't work, put it to Standard Definition to try and reset it as such, and now it won't go back to HDMI at all, tried on another TV, same problem, tried other HDMI cables, same problem.

 

Tried to change the Tv Connection Type to "HDMI" and it says "Unable to apply settings. Check that your TV is on, ad that the TV and console are properly connected."

Nothing, I've E-mailed Nintendo and i'll see what they say

Try plugging in both the component and HDMI cables perhaps?

 

Also try looking in the HDMI port, making sure there isn't any dust/debris stuck (give it a good ol' blow like in the N64 days x3 )

I don't even own any components

 

And I'll try blowing it, I don't really have any better ideas

Of course i'm not going to buy it, who in the right mind would buy a console if it's just another PC, Why should I buy that when I can just go on PC and play games that aren't made by Nintendo and miss out on a bunch of games I would have enjoyed, screw Nintendo for doing something so stupid! Ama cry and play some Battle Stars Royal.

If it looks a little better than the game "The Letter", I'll be happy with that.

The letter doesn't look that impressive :s,

If you're creating a face and go from 5 triangles to 100 triangles, there's a huge difference, but if you go from 1000 triangles to 2000 triangles, it's harder to notice since there's not much else you can add,

Take this picture, this is the problem the PS3 to the PS4 has, there's not really a huge differerence when looking at the PS1 to the PS2.

The best we can do to make games look better is have 4k resolution, better lighting, better optimisation etc. the models themselves will only look slightly better.

 

Now the Wii U to the PS4/Xbox One, it's definitly behind them, but not by a lot. But just enough to stop graphically demanind games not be 1080P on the Wii U while it would be on the PS4. 

There are so many things wrong with Splatoon, it's just not even fun. 

 

1. No Lobbying with friends.

2. Only One Online Mode

3. Unbalanced Weapons

4. Only 5 Maps in total, LOL

5. No Option for Pro Controller

6. Unable to Exit Lobby 

7. Limited Custimization

8. Unable to change wepaons without leaving lobby

9 Do I even have to mention no Mics?

So pretty much, your argument is that the game is bad because the content that's coming soon, hasn't came out yet.

Either contact support or move the Wii u closer to the router. After googling about it, there doesn't seem to be any real answer

Ever since the introduction of "Splat zone", I've been more into it now than ever. Turf war is... ok, you shoot the paint on the floor till it's filled, but now we have a game mode which requires teamwork, tactic and strategy and I believe I'll be having a ton more fun in it than I would with just turf war. As well as the mobility shown, how fast paced it can be, I'm pretty confident it'll be a really fun game.

 

But I can see what you mean, it can just be seen as a game where you just shoot things and people with paint. But I'm pretty hype for it, pre-orderd it already and now... we play the waiting game.

A Nintendo Direct two days away without any sort of prior announcement, teasing, anything...and it just happens to take place on April 1st?

 

They always announce a Nintendo Direct 1 day before it's aired. So them not announcing it 2 days away is pretty expected.

Although it's most likely fake anyway. BUT we should be expecting a direct in April at least

Pretty much my experiance

 

I had a lot of fun with it, the hour went by too quickly and I was sad I couldn't play more, although I had no idea how to turn gyro controls off so I stuck with the roller since I couldn't aim with the guns.

• Roller is OP

After reading other people's views of the game and the roller, A lot of them are saying it's the "Little mac of Splatoon" Where it looks OP when you first play against them, but the more you play against them, the more you realize it has obvious flaws that can be exploited, for example if you hit someone with a roller, they are "Tagged" which means they slow down A LOT. Think of counterstrike, if you shoot a running target, they walk a lot slower than usual for a second. It's the same in splatoon, if you hit them once their speed decreases drastically and they're very slow, thus easy to walk backwards and kill. Another thing is that they can't get you if you're on high ground, if your standing on 1 box above them, they're powerless, even their shotgun thing may take 2 hits to kill you, but by then, if you have good aim, they're dead before they can hit you twice with the splashback/shake/shotgun thing. BUT Even with these flaws, in turf war they cover so much ground so quickly that they can easily turn the game to their teams favour in the last 20 seconds of a match if no one is stopping them. BUT again, turf war is the casual gamemode, once ranked games are open, the roller will by far be the worst weapon as they need to get inside the areas. but the shooters will most likely be on high ground thus easy to spot and kill rollers on the floor. So my thoughts is that they're like Little mac, an op weapon when you first look at it, but has flaws to make it balanced.

 

• Weapon Switching

I can see what you mean, if 1 team is filled with snipers and the other team has a mixture of guns, the team with a mixture of guns has won. no doubt. Hopefully in the actual game there's some way to know what weapons your team has before you start. although I have little faith.

 

• No Voice Chat

Honestly, I wasn't expecting voice chat to be useful in this game, but my god at one point in saltspray rig (the water level) had the enemy team locked out from the big area at the top of the map, stopping everyone from getting through and I just wish I could have said "Someone cover the big area and someone else stop them from coming behind me" or something along those lines, I had thought up a genuine tactic I could use but there was literally no way to tell my team-mates it.

 

• Customising Controls & Misc. Settings

I believe it'll be in the game, It'd be really odd if something as simple as changing settings mid game wasn't in the game. But then again it is Nintendo, I can't really think of a nintendo game where the pause button had a setting option, Mario games have resume and quit. Zelda only has the inventory... hmm, maybe there won't be an options there after all...

But we don't have a president, there's currently no available jobs in that role

 

You can be our janitor, we're lacking in a janitor and it would be nice to have this site cleaned up a bit.

Well it wasn't really a game people wanted, so i'm not too suprised by the sales. It was probably also a cheap game to make so it should make profit even with 100k sales.

i dont like the kind of games that Nintendo makes.

Sell your Wii U and never buy another Nintendo home console again.
The Wii u is for people who want to play Nintendo games, of you don't like games such as Smash Bros, Zelda, Xenoblade or Starfox, then what's the point of owning a Wii U?

When I bought my console, it was not meant that it would only be Nintendo that would make games.

I don't see how I could be offended by you asking that question, I was simply stating the answer you are looking for.

Never buy a console just because it's another console, buy it for it's exclusives as well as third party, why buy a Wii U just for third party games when you can buy a PS4 or PC for third party AND first party?

And it's sales are fine, it got a huge sale increase after mario kart 8 and is increasing as smash bros gets closer.

This is easily the weirdest introduction thread I've seen so far... so I'll add onto it.
