#209974 Hey There!

Posted by ThePopiPenguin on 22 May 2013 - 05:27 AM in Introduction Central

I'm not exactly new since I've been reading here since last year but only made an account this year because I was lazy lol. Either way, I'm kinda familiar with the faces on this forum like 3Dude, UnchainedGoku, RouterBad and Amnesia since I've been lurking round here for a while. Looking forward to joining the discussions!

P.S Why is this dude called DJlewe78 always posting grammatically incorrect posts stating his doubt on the Wii U? It's a fine piece of kit and does this dude really have to post it so many times in an incorrect way? Just asking ~peace~ :P

On another note, am I seriously the only person in my generation (13 year old here) who loves The Big N? Everyone I know in my gen either only play CoD or LoL. (Not that I hate those franchises, I play them too) They seem to always find a way to hate Nintendo.

#209988 Could this be the reason for lack of power...

Posted by ThePopiPenguin on 22 May 2013 - 06:18 AM in Wii U Hardware

No offense man (referring to djlewe) but please. Improve your grammar, punctuation and capitalization a wee bit :D . You've been posting nothing but variants of the same topic over and over again. Have some faith in the Wii U. It will soon pick up after sometime. Remember, specs aren't everything ;) . Remember the PS2 generation? The Xbox had the most raw firepower but in the end, the PS2 ended up becoming the greatest selling console of all time.

Actually, a lot of gamers here are aware of framerates, clock speed, latency and all that. Mostly 'cause everyone plays PC in my country. I can safely say that with this, the percentage of gamers in the world who are at least knowledgeable in this field is about 30% unless you count the casuals which in that case; drops to said 10%.

Aware- yes, but could they actually see the difference in a controlled setting?  I am guessing very few could actually do it with any consistency.

Agreed. Although a handful of us here can discern the differences since the biggest gaming population here is the MOBA crowd.

Welcome to the forums! Some of us here (such as I) didn't get as much greetings as you so nice one! Enjoy your stay at the Wii U Forums and sell your soul to me be friends with everyone here (except the forum trolls that come here to bash) . Lengthy post but either way I just read it anyway. I'm still in the 8th grade though so I can't necessarily fully understand High School life :P

#213166 Wii U FPS Drop?

Posted by ThePopiPenguin on 30 May 2013 - 12:36 AM in Wii U Hardware

4 posts and starts a thread asking why Wii U has framerate drops that are only noticeable with high speed cameras, no, not a troll at all.  If you honestly are not trolling, my apologies.  However, there are literally hundreds of "why wii u performance sucks" threads, and the issues with ports are discussed in pretty much every single hardware thread on the forum.

Also, check my profile or post history before you start trying to call me out on my age, son.  You know what they say about assumptions.

Oh, and

You're welcome!

Worst thing is, a lot of these posts were made by the same person, djlewe. Can't we just stop these doom and gloom threads with incorrect spelling, punctuation and all and just wait for what Nintendo has to offer?

#214233 Can we please stop necro-ing and feeding troll/doom & gloom threads?

Posted by ThePopiPenguin on 01 June 2013 - 11:10 AM in Site News and Feedback

Well, in the whole time I've stayed in the forums (I was here since last year but only registered recently) there were threads that specified doubt, fear, uncertainty and plain pessimism of the Wii U. Normally this would be okay since most new consoles have doom and gloom topics. However, I would like to point out what routerbad said to some effect: "Most of these posts are written by the same person hence you can't distinguish whether these are troll or serious posts." I mean, it would be okay to respond and reason to some of this if they seem logical but the amount of doom posts here written by this dude who posts under the banner of "djlewe" have dirtied the forums and making it impossible to tell whether the others are trolling or are genuinely serious. For example, there was this guy who posted a topic pertaining to his questions about Wii U ports and of course, our forum instincts kicked in and almost tore him apart since the line between plain questions and trolling has been blurred. Worst of all, we keep on reviving these threads with new activity approximately once a week or so. Now I don't know what this Djlewe's motives are whether or not he was trolling or kinda improper due to his broken english but I can just say: Don't feed the trolls. Look how many posts with same topic this guy has. Now let's enjoy the Wii U!! Summers up for you guys and sadly, over for me. TL;DR- Don't revive "troll" posts.

Getting Xenoblade now then probably Pandora's Tower and Metroid Prime Trilogy sometime else. Yes, I apparently don't have Metroid for my Nintendo stuff except for Fuison GBA.

#215042 My Highschool Stories - Graduation

Posted by ThePopiPenguin on 03 June 2013 - 08:00 AM in The Café

I'm starting the 9th grade on the 10th. (Yes, we start differently in the Philippines.) Our grade 6 graduation here  is a big deal though most of the time since our old curriculum had Grades 1-6 then 4 years of High School.

#218999 My Wish: Retro's Game to be Mother/Earthbound

Posted by ThePopiPenguin on 11 June 2013 - 04:47 AM in E3 2013 Archive

With all the fuss and hype about E3 along with the fact Nintendo's conference is in a hour, what would the reaction be if the greatly hyped Retro game would actually be Earthbound? Wouldn't it be awesome? A guy can only dream.

Exactly. If they announce it to be so, the entire internet would go into a state of  shock.

#220092 I think Nintendo did a pretty great job at E3 but...

Posted by ThePopiPenguin on 11 June 2013 - 10:07 PM in E3 2013 Archive

Yeah. With the announcements of X, Smash Bros and Mario 3D, Nintendo has done an okay job at E3 albeit safely played. The one thing Nintendo needs now is advertisement. I've personally sold the Wii U to 10 people but before that they knew little to nothing about the U. I think Nintendo should really invest in that department so as to increase the Wii U's sales. For example, the PS4 is so heavily marketed that a simple 1 minute video about used games got 5 million views on their channel compared to the Nintendo's E3 game reveals in which the highest viewers in a video were 100k.

Posted by ThePopiPenguin on 11 June 2013 - 10:12 PM in E3 2013 Archive

The PS gets unnecessary hype from simple features that were retained but the Wii U doesn't simply cause people aren't informed. We're like that 3rd party in a US election. Nintendo doesn't need to step up their game, they just need the ads.

#220117 Ubisoft: "we have reduced plans for WiiU"

We need people to buy 3rd party games so we can support Ubisoft.

They MUST advertise it to be the go-to system. Use the power of the price point and I guarantee you, ill-informed shoppers who buy for their CoD kid will get the cheaper console especially since it has CoD. With each sale of the Wii U, the good word of Nintendo is spread. Power of the price point baby. Just advertise it on every goddamn thing people can see. Movies, TV shows, Magazines, heck they should even advertise on benches.

#220861 A call to arms: Monolith Soft's X

Posted by ThePopiPenguin on 13 June 2013 - 01:05 AM in Wii U Games and Software

All Wii U owners and fans report! An awesome game has been announced currently but is struggling with mainstream exposure! We need everyone to pitch in and share the good word of Monolith Soft's X. Do it on reddit, Facebook, Twitter, forums and other sites. A lot websites overlooked this gem and say the Wii U is failing. Spread the good word.

Hmmm. Good Point. Still, I don't get why the other sites aren't giving a rainbow about X and Bayo 2.
