Tourney mode and youtube uploading is free, I think that's it. I hope it is not offline only, I want online tourney mode so badly.
I hope that K Rool costume doesn't mean we won't get him as a playable character. Pumped for the new stages.

I don't know why he'd want to, I'm sure he'd get destroyed. EVO will be full of the best smash players in the world....people that practice 6-8 hours a day on their characters.

As someone who plays smash wii u competitively at tournaments, that looks amazing for Smash except for one glaring problem - It's wireless.
That's a huge issue at tournaments and this controller will never take off in the competitive scene if it isn't changed. Mainly because wireless requires synching and unsynching every match. If you forget to unsynch you can inadvertently interrupt another match. And there can also be signal interference issues. And wireless will always have more input lag than a wired controller. Many tournaments ban wireless controllers outright.
If they offered a wired option this would be perfect. I hate the shoulder huge buttons on the gamecube controller. And I think the body style would be more ergonomic than the old gamecube design.

What if you overweight/obese? Pretty sure the game can get your heart pumping lol.
Yeah, it can for people in that category. If you're one of those people Wii Fit U can be a good option. But most people, they won't find the majority of the exercises in Wii Fit U challenging enough.

I'd buy a Wii U just for Smash 4. Been sitting in my Wii U since it came out...can't stop playing it.

It's a nice activity that will get you off the couch and moving a little bit but it is limiting if you're looking to get a serious workout. Most of the exercises just aren't challenging enough to get your heart pumping and don't burn many calories. It's no substitute for going to the gym.
That said, you can get a good workout from Wii Fit U if you plan right. I have used it when I couldn't get to the gym. If you're looking to burn calories and get a cardio workout, I'd create a custom workout consisting of something like this -
- Run all 4 obstacle courses (in my opinion the best and most fun exercise Wii Fit U offers)
- Hula Hoop (high a level as you can handle)
- 10 minute run. There's a few options, either do a straight run or play a running game where you have to find miis.
That alone will get your heart pumping for a good 30 minutes or so.
I've found it's pretty much pointless to use the game for the muscle building and yoga once you've learned how to do the exercises. Just write them down along with how many repetitions you need and do them without the game. Going through the game doesn't add anything, takes too long, and is unnecessary. I really don't need to hear "good job!" "great workout!" and have the game tell me when to start and stop. I've found that getting the balance board balanced on your TV for these exercises isn't much of an indicator of whether your form is correct. So overall using the balance board for yoga and strength exercises is pointless in my opinion.
A lot of the stuff in Wii Fit U is fun but doesn't give you a workout, particularly most of the balance board stuff.
I really like the pedometer functionality. If you're into walking, using the Fit Meter to track your steps and in turn synching it with the game can be very satisfying. If you're not very active, sticking to a goal of say 10,000 steps a day will really help you drop pounds even if that's the only activity you do.
But as with everything, remember that if you're looking to lose weight changing your diet is way more important than exercise.

Trine 2 is easily my #1.
Stunning graphics - it looks as good or better than 1st party Nintendo Wii U titles.
Also it is very challenging, has a good story and has very creative gameplay.

I want this BAD. My gamepad is mostly just a dust collector now...I always use the pro controller. I want a game like this that actually gives me a reason to use the gamepad again!

I'm excited for it, I'll get it eventually. Doubtful I'll buy it day 1 @ what I'm guessing is a $60 price tag - but I bet the price will fall fast. I'll probably pick it up sometime in 2015.

Jimmy has a good taste in games!
Although Bowser on the sports bike drives me nuts, poor guy is too big he looks uncomfortable. Got to go with a 4 wheeled vehicle if you're racing a big turtle ![]()

Well I tried everything I could. I'm going to just keep holding out on finding a cheap WiiU gamepad or console on craigslist or ebay. Sure as hell not giving Nintendo 180 bucks to fix something that might take them 10 minutes. I guess those that have been saying a WiiU bundled without a gamepad have a more valid point now.
That sucks, sorry. Do you have a warranty? This should be covered if you do.

It's a game I may get down the road but not day one.
Game looks beautiful and fun but I have a few concerns. My main concern is it won't be challenging enough and I'll find it boring. Hopefully I'm wrong. I'll read some reviews after it comes out.
Besides, I still have plenty of puzzle/platformer type games I've yet to get to on the Wii U that I'd rather play first.
I'm still only about 1/2 the way through Trine 2 which is an absolute gem of a game. I'd also like to get to other platformer/puzzle/action type games like the Cave, Darksiders 2 and Ninja Gaiden. And I still haven't bought SM3D World.
Also I have Smash coming which will certainly dominate several months of my playtime. Not to mention play time going to my current favorite games - Orochi Warriors and MK8.

Good thing I saw this thread, I keep forgetting to pre-order a few...
Same here. I hadn't planned on buying one..but the more I read and thinking about it, for $12 it's hard to resist the urge to not buy atleast one.

Either SNES or PS2.
SNES I grew up with as a little kid but PS2 was my primary console from middle school all the way through college as I skipped the last generation entirely and stuck with PS2. I got my PS2 in 2000/2001 and got my Wii U in January 2013 so it was my primary console for 12 years.
So all in all I have to go with PS2. That console was amazing...the game library is absurdly huge and it's full of masterpiece titles.
Only problem is it now looks like garbage blown up on my 42 inch HD TV...I need to get a smaller screen if I want to play it again.
WIi U I really like but it's in the middle of my list so far. I love the gamepad idea and its uniqueness but I have been really dissapointed by the lack of 3rd party support that I was expecting when I bought it. Of the consoles I've owned it's passed N64, Sega Genesis and PS1 on my list but it can't hold a candle to PS2 or SNES. And that's where I'm expecting the Wii U to stay on my list...right in the middle. Some great upside but some really bad downsides as welll.

For $180 dollars it's not worth fixing, you can buy a new one cheaper than that. New gamepads are going for $155 on ebay currently.
http://www.ebay.com/...ac#ht_691wt_797
Do other controllers work fine? It's not something with the console is it? Have you tried this with the gamepad plugged into the charger? Maybe it's a battery issue. Try resyncing the gamepad if you haven't already. Also if you have a buddy with a Wii U have him/her bring their gamepad over so you can be sure it's not the console. Is there any physical damage? Is the the sensor on the gamepad or the console covered up or blocked?
Good luck.

I always had the idea that if mario touched let's say...a goomba...he got hurt because getting that close allowed the monster to bite him, claw him, ect.
As far as the time deaths, I think that is mario getting so frustrated that he admits defeat and commits suicide
, or the door closes on the other side when the clock reaches zero so he knows he can't complete the level and commits suicide on that basis.
Ok I'm being sarcastic on the last part obviously...but I don't think its supposed to make sense story wise.

For now, PS3 is probably the best option. Buy a cheap used one that will give you a couple years of play. Tons of great cheap games for the console. PS4 is not quite there yet...as others said late 2015 will probably be a good time to buy as there aren't too many good games right now. Not to mention the games are all really expensive.

Nice non Kiddie avatar Yo.
I was unaware we had a forum rules that requires us to only use pictures from our current favorite games in our avatars.
I have a shy guy avatar because he's my favorite baddie from when I was a kid playing the original super mario (a game that was not "kiddie", it was marketed towards everyone). I used the current HD pic only because it was the first image to pop up if you search for "shy guy" on google images. By making that post you've already put more thought into my avatar than I have.
It doesn't mean I can't have an opinion about Nintendo's upcoming game release schedule.
How can one say what others will find fun or not fun? Why does one think Yoshi cannot be fun for Adults? There are more kiddos playing your "adult" games than actual adults... LMAO
Because according to what I've read the difficulty of Yarn Yoshi will geared towards children, not adults. Adults will find it too easy - think of how easy Kirby's epic yarn was...the yarn series is designed to be completable by children. Not enough challenge there to interest most adults.
"kiddie" in my prior post wasn't meant only as condescending although I'm certainly irked by the lack of releases marketed towards adults.

I'm buying the characters I like because they look cool. Probably won't use them after the first time for the lolz.
Lol this is exactly what i'd do. I'm considering buying a DK figure but after I use it once it'd probably just be a dust collector sitting on my shelf.

Only first party titles on the 2015 list that interests me are Zelda and Xenoblade.
Yeah same here, seriously depressing. Starfox may interest me as well but who knows some or all three of these games could be delayed until 2016 - Nintendo has delayed so many of its titles this generation. These are just estimates.
After we get Smash and Bayonetta 2 this winter it's going to be seriously long dry spell for me as I'm just not interested in the kiddie games like Lego, Infinity, Yoshi, ect. Was hoping we'd get more titles that would be fun for adults as well as kids.
I'm hoping we could get a hidden gem or two in the Nintendo Eshop.

Wow that was a great F'n commercial. I think Nintendo's biggest advantage over PS4 and XB1 is their great exclusives...they definitely are right to base their advertising on it. I'd love to see 1 minute versions of this ad on regular cable TV rotations.
