Also got an Xbox One the day after launch which I love less but still like. Much more excited about the games coming next year on this.

Lets hope they really show this. As much as i'd like the all sparkles pc version I'm very up for buying this on WiiU so please show everyone how good this can be!
Totally agree, I will support Wii U if it's good.

Nope it did not. It was unprofitable so they scrapped plans for a sequel.
Half a million sales for a niche horror title on a newly launched system is great. If it was unprofitable that is simply poor management on Ubisoft's side.

It also looks a much better game in darker settings where the terrible shadows don't ruin everything quite as much.

#262683 Shouldnt Watchdogs dynamic city work well with the Wii U's CPU?

Most game devs today will actually never see a difference, as they dont actually work with low instruction level tasks, the compiler does that for them. The only time theyd see a difference is if they went down to assembly level, which very very few devs today are really capable of doing. Most of them stay up in the high level, wasteful middle ware engines.
Also, since you seemed to have missed it, it has been admitted the xbone/ps4 cpu isnt strong enough to brute force ps360 games either (which is what wii u's cpu is being forced to do), which was stated when it was being explained reasons as to why the ps4/xbone are not backwards compatable.
I was going to mention the backwards compatibility thing in the Assassins Creed thread, as it's what I read about yesterday, how Xbox One can't play 360 games as the CPU isn't powerful enough for in order tasks or something along those lines.
It did make me think how many Wii U games are having to run in that same way...

It is slow. It runs at about half the frame rate of most other wii u games (or wii games... or nintendo games in general...) like pretty much every multiplat ps360 game I have. But we are specifically talking about dramatic performance slowdowns, like shown in the video... The likes of which ive never encountered so bad.
All ubisoft wii u games except zombi u have horribad shadows, as the wii u is basically emulating a 360 in their ports, whose code was designed to use only a meager 10Mb of edram, and use main mem for everything else, and thus take horrible samples whilst wii u has over 3x that on die... Anyways, we all know ubisoft didnt waste time or manpower on wii u ports, they simply give the system 360 code and let it trudge through unoptimized code.
What they did do, was add things like vsync, slightly higher res textures, and slightly better effects over ps360 versions. They didnt attempt to opimize performance in the slightest upon release, although they did patch it after release, which helped a little bit. Did your version get the patch yet?
Yes I got the patch, so not sure if it's worse before. As I said I'm not seeing slow down as in its running fine and then dropping, it's just consistently low. And not unplayably bad, just a little annoying, kind of like Lego Marvel in co-op...
Also some have said it's just Havanna so it could be better once I'm out of that area.
It's at least more consistent than AC3 was.

Also the shadows are shockingly bad, and make it look worse than it would otherwise I think. When it's still it looks fantastic, but throw in awful shadows and slow frame rate and it doesn't look that good.
It certainly doesn't look like they prioritised performance at all after what they said about it.

Sony had nothing to do with Guacamelee. Was an indie game that first came out on steam almost last year. Sony did put out Rain on PS3 tho which I really enjoyed.
Yeah and Guacamelee is also now coming to Xbox One.
#262600 Wii U Virtual Console Subscription Service?

If you’ve bought the game digitally, you still have access to the download if a game is removed form the store.
This may well be the case but isn't always with digital stuff. On itunes some Disney films got pulled from the store, as well as itunes in the cloud. That meant that if you didn't have the films downloaded somewhere because you were (quite reasonably) using Apple's streaming service on your Apple TV (which doesn't feature local storage) then you lost your films.
People complained to Apple but the response was that the companies own the content.
So that is a big reason why a lot of people don't like digital, including me.

If it worked like Netflix, then it would be always online. Where would the games come from otherwise?
If you pay the virtual console subscription then you can download whatever games you want. You wouldn't need to be online to play them, the same way you don't need to be online to play PS+ games. They only stop working if your subscription runs out.

Its never been about the game. The game is nothing more than a variable that could be replaced by anything. The problem, the issue, has always been this:
www.skepdic.com/haloeffect.html
And its not just him. Pretty much EVERYONE is doing it, COMPLETELY misreading the article (provided they actually READ the article), its intent, and purpose, to the point I feel bad for the reading comprehension portion of their sat's.
Yeah but this is a forum not Nazi Germany.

That would require an always-online DRM for Virtual Console games, and we all know how that went down when Microsoft tried doing that.
However, I don't hate the idea. Perhaps they can do both. Have a streaming service for all of the virtual console games for about $5 a month or something, and if you want to buy the game for offline play, you can pay the VC price for it.
Why would it require that? Why couldn't they implement something similar to PS+?

I understand you, I wish we were getting more work done in third party titles, and getting games like the Crew, and NFS Rivals. But the Wii U can handle the games, the devs choose not to. The Wii U could be xbone powerful 50mil units, and it would still be in a sucky situation even if Nintendo payed out.
Lol why would you want that? Ninty still has the better games.
I agree hence me owning a Wii U
No sir never brought any console other than Nintendo. It is what it is. I am working on building a pc just for nba 2k series.
That's sounds like a good plan based on your other comments then.

Nope i shouldnt have to go out and spend another 400 dollars for a game experience... That is on Nintendo hands.... they are doing this to a certain degree.
In an ideal world you wouldn't have to but unfortunately you do. Or you could have just gone with PS4 from the start.

Yeah actually i am equally excited about Nba2k series as any other games released as the quality and basketball simulation is unmatched best sport simulation available.... but guess what i cant play that on my Wii U because nintendo only focuses on japanese and you guys are backing their decision. Do you know how popular sports are in america? you cant judge me for that
I'm not judging you, I'm simply saying perhaps you would have been happier with another console. All I see you comment on here is how we need shooters, sports games, and graphics. There's nothing wrong with this I'm just saying that you can actually get all these things on an Xbox.

Omg, is this for real? I'm bursting into laughter right now and it's not even funny.
But seriously, wtf? I agree with stuff like the Other M cinematic compilation, but "Watch the rest of the story"? Really? If you don't want to play the game anymore it's probably because it sucks and is boring as hell. Wii the story, you shouldn't even buy the game in the first place if all you wanted was to watch a movie.
Jeez, no wonder why cod sells so much. This industry is full of these guys.
Yeah absolutely crazy. I actually think it's why The Last of Us is considered to be this amazing game. I've heard several people online say it's amazing but they didn't like the combat, which surely is most of the actual game isn't it?

I think generally ninty fans enjoy more japanese games than western games. So imo ninty should focus on securing japanese games rather than looking into more western style games.
Yeah exactly. If you are more excited for Madden or Fifa than Bravely Default then perhaps you have the wrong console.
I have Bravely Default and it's great so far.
Also I will say this about the direct. They showed DK, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros. That's 3 very high quality games. And we kind of expect to hear more about next year still.
If Wii U got the same multiplatform stuff as the other consoles there wouldn't even be a question of what Nintendo is bringing.
