#257631 Xbox One sells 1 Million

Posted by Poptartboy on 23 November 2013 - 02:44 PM in General Gaming

Idk bout you guys but I'm digging my ps4 and my cousin bought an X1 and I liked what I played Forza, killer instinct and that zoo game(idk the name lol) were real fun. So yeah the future for games is really good and I can't wait to really see these machines shine.

Zoo Tycoon and yeah it looks great. I shall be trying it myself tomorrow. I was amazed by how many Zombies were onscreen in Dead Rising 3 as well. Not a single bit of slow down either.

Yes you can. I haven't messed with options too much. Just setting up a couple of each console for presents. Wii u, x1, ps4, all require updates and accounts, so I'm setting those things up. It's a lot of "work."

Curious as to what color most people choose.

I don't mind green on mine, But I'm thinking red for Christmas or blue may look good. Though I'm mostly a monochrome guy.though I'll leave the gifts stock. Its a great option.

I set my profile as blue and my girlfriend set hers as red. It all looks much less cluttered than the old 360 one with all the ads removed.

The Xbox update actually went pretty quick, although I don't think I will ever get used to installing all my games off a disc.

i watched a 3hr vid and it IS complicated compared to every other console (well to me and the people watching the stream it is) it does look cluttered, boxes EVERYWHERE and it did seem slower than the ps4 by a bit

Yeah but come on, we've all seen your endless PS4 love affair comments for months now.

I've been using the Xbox One UI and it's pretty great I think. PS4 one looks quick good though as well.

Xbox UI is massively faster than Wii U though.

Uh... No. I've got both and x1 is much faster. And easier to understand what you are doing. IMO, it's more attractive as well, minus the abundance of the color green...

You can set a different colour though can't you.

#282878 XBOX ONE Production Could Temporarily Cease

Posted by Poptartboy on 28 April 2014 - 09:57 AM in General Gaming

Aside from Dead Rising 3 or Ryse..but Ryse is crap. You can play an XBO game on PC or another console.

My point is not how good the Xbox One is over the PS4, it really isn't. My point is that comments like the one above are just believing into the Sony hype. And that is all the PS4 is right now.

It makes sense to scale back on production of Xbox One's if there is an abundance of them sitting in retail outlets. The problem with Microsoft is that they really have shot themselves in the foot with their behaviour surrounding the Xbox One's policies and idiotic comments from Mattrick and Orth just compounded to make matters worse.

E3 2014 will be important for the Xbox One and its future, if Microsoft have a successful E3 and show case their games and give gamers a reason to purchase a Xbox One then there's no reason why the Xbox One cannot sell. They've got a talented face in Phil Spencer, they've got some interesting exclusive games up their sleeve and have yet more to show if the reported $1bn spent on securing exclusives is true, so they're not out of it yet.

Yeah I totally agree with this. They could also get rid of Kinect and cut the price if things got to that point.

What part isn't true? I still own a xbone but it was forced into early retirement as I play Wii U and PS4 much more.

Well considering the PS4 has 1 exclusive coming so far I would say the bit where you said they have the exclusives. Xbox also has exclusives and 3rd party games.

#282774 XBOX ONE Production Could Temporarily Cease

Posted by Poptartboy on 27 April 2014 - 10:50 AM in General Gaming

Nintendo has the exclusives and best developers, Sony has great exclusives and 3rd party and Xbone has.... stock?

I find it funny how you used own an Xbox and since you got the PS4 you like to make comments like this.

The Xbox One has more exclusives out right now and upcoming. I'm sure in time PS4 will have some great ones too.

#239653 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by Poptartboy on 16 August 2013 - 02:39 PM in Wii U Games and Software

What about all the exclusives & third party games that won't be on the WiiU ?
There is no support for the WiiU & nobody seems to think it will improve.

Then buy those systems if you want to play those games.

As 3Dude said previously, there was a time when not all systems had exactly the same games.

I think the most ridiculous thing is that YOU bought the Wii U. No one forced you to. Why did you if you don't like anything on it? Why didn't you just get a PS4 instead?

#238784 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner with common sense!

The funny thing is, it seems 3Dude is the only one that actually does have any common sense.

Your actual quote said that anyone enjoying the game needed to stop hyping the game up because you'd played it and it wasn't that good.

3Dude has been completely reasonable, and not once has he said that anyone is wrong for not liking it. Read the thread back.

The funniest bit is bring up 'opinions', because that's the biggest get out clause going for talking nonsense.

He likes to complain about the Wii U (here and on Neogaf). :P

Oh I know, I just find it ridiculous. I understand wanting more games, but just constantly moaning on about everything gets old.

Either enjoy the Wii U or sell it and move on.

#239767 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by Poptartboy on 17 August 2013 - 05:50 AM in Wii U Games and Software

there is no point in looking through rose tinted glasses all the time, though.

it seems that on here every game that come out on the WiiU is either the game that will save the WiiU or it's a game worth buying a WiiU for, there is no game worth buying a £200-300 console for.

nintendo promised so much with the WiiU & have simply not delivered.

my WiiU is not worth selling because nobody wants to buy them, when i have mentioned selling it to people i know they have said they either have a Wii, i tell them that it's a WiiU i have & they says whats the difference ?

No game worth buying the console for, yet you bought it? Funny.

I bought mine for Pikmin 3, and Rayman Legends. Pikmin 3 has already made it worth it.

You can sell on eBay you know.

#238821 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by Poptartboy on 12 August 2013 - 11:59 AM in Wii U Games and Software

It's an OPINION. You really need to learn to stop taking thing so literal and serious on a forum, especially where some might not share the same ideals as you. I think that this game is heavily overhyped. You don't. Am I questioning you or trying to attack me like you did to anyone person that disagreed with you? No I'm not. I'm simply responding to you. I'm not the only one that had problem with the touch controls. Users on IGN, GameFAQs, Gamespot, Serebii's forums, and NeoGAF also had problems. Stop it. Seriously. You argue cause you try, note the keyword "try" to countlessly win arguments like they are some kind of accomplishment. I'm entitled to post whatever I feel on the game, you don't like it? Too bad, suck it up and go back to debating meaninglessly about the specs of the Wii U. I'm done with you. I'm not the only who sees your counter-argument as incredibly not good.

Yes its definitely common sense. 3Dude definitely has the right to attack anyone who doesn't like The Wonderful 101 or fines a flaw in the game! Get out "clause?" That utterly ridiculous nonsense. I'm not trying to get out of nothing. I don't fear 3Dude nor am I afraid to debate with him. However, when you want to argue for hours upon hours about difficulties somebody found with the controls and they didn't like it, you obviously have issues to work out. Not every game is for everyone, he doesn't seem to comprehend that because die-hard love for Nintendo is too strong.

I'm pretty sure I was clear when I said "I found the line/circle drawing to be unresponsive"

The thing is, you're complaining about your opinion not being respected, yet don't seem to realise that telling people they are overhyping something is by definition telling them they are wrong.

You not liking it is as valid as 3Dude loving it, so how can you say someone really enjoying it is 'overhyping' it?

#256799 Will the Wii U survive next-gen

Console wars really are the worst thing ever.

#259086 Wii U, The Worst Holiday Gift This Season.

Posted by Poptartboy on 05 December 2013 - 02:11 AM in Wii U Hardware

Why? Because of the short term gains due only to the fact it was out a year earlier? It its a complete waste of money unless all you wish to play are Nintendo games. The future is much brighter overall with the PS 4.

The PS 4 may not be a must buy right now. I give you that. But to advise investing in a Wii U if they don't know the lack of long term 3 rd party support is bad advice.

The Wii U is a niche system for gamers who like Nintendo products. It is a second system at best.

It entirely depends on what you like. Not everyone cares about 3rd party games. Right now all I care about it Titanfall and Watch Dogs. I'm playing Assassins Creed and Batman as well.

The only thing lacking about the Wii U so far is that there isn't enough Nintendo games for it.

#262470 Wii U Virtual Console Subscription Service?

Posted by Poptartboy on 20 December 2013 - 04:19 AM in Wii U Games and Software

That would require an always-online DRM for Virtual Console games, and we all know how that went down when Microsoft tried doing that.

However, I don't hate the idea. Perhaps they can do both. Have a streaming service for all of the virtual console games for about $5 a month or something, and if you want to buy the game for offline play, you can pay the VC price for it.

Why would it require that? Why couldn't they implement something similar to PS+?

#262511 Wii U Virtual Console Subscription Service?

Posted by Poptartboy on 20 December 2013 - 01:14 PM in Wii U Games and Software

If it worked like Netflix, then it would be always online. Where would the games come from otherwise?

If you pay the virtual console subscription then you can download whatever games you want. You wouldn't need to be online to play them, the same way you don't need to be online to play PS+ games. They only stop working if your subscription runs out.

#262600 Wii U Virtual Console Subscription Service?

Posted by Poptartboy on 21 December 2013 - 03:39 AM in Wii U Games and Software

If you’ve bought the game digitally, you still have access to the download if a game is removed form the store.

This may well be the case but isn't always with digital stuff. On itunes some Disney films got pulled from the store, as well as itunes in the cloud. That meant that if you didn't have the films downloaded somewhere because you were (quite reasonably) using Apple's streaming service on your Apple TV (which doesn't feature local storage) then you lost your films.

People complained to Apple but the response was that the companies own the content.

So that is a big reason why a lot of people don't like digital, including me.

#262687 Wii U Gamepad High Capacity Battery Now Available in US

I cannot wait to be able to afford one of these. The biggest flaw of the gamepad is the battery life in my opinion.

#242230 Wii U Deluxe Price Drop

Posted by Poptartboy on 28 August 2013 - 10:30 AM in Wii U Hardware

This isn't fair. I want to sell my current Wii U and buy the Windwaker bundle but I can't thanks to Nintendo's backwards policies on digital games.

I wonder if there will be a price cut in the UK? Retailers are already selling it for below the rrp but I wonder if nintendo will lower the rrp.

Is there not a way to transfer your purchases?

i think its a little bit more than that. Nintendo promised "we learned our lesson from 3ds launch"... and they repeat it with Wii U or even dare i say did worse. not only that but their was a promise of Wii U being a console for the core.... how is that working out? Again i have a Wii U and its the only console i will own this gen same as last gen Wii, before that Gamecube, and that N64. i love nintendo and want them to succeed.... but they messed up big time and in reality its NOJ fault they dont understand the western audience and gamers and its biting them in the A$$... and it seems they arent trying to do much to change that. i was looking at this video from gaming analyst he said if he was nintendo he would have got on his knees and begged take two/rockstar to put GTA V on Wii U.... its EASILY the biggest game releasing this year. i know nintendo is a proud company and they should be they accomplished a lot over the last 30 years but sometimes to have to fold a bit and say hey 3rd party publisher/dev we need to make this happen what do we have to do.

GTA on Wii U would have made barely any difference. If you play games like that you'll likely have an Xbox and play it on that anyway.

Nintendo need exclusive games that make their platform attractive.

I would like a free game.

I probably won't get it, but it'd be nice.

Those 30 cent VC games were pretty sweet, though.

We would all like free games, of course. But there is a difference between that and feeling entitled to them.

#242558 wii u ambassador program

Posted by Poptartboy on 29 August 2013 - 05:19 AM in Wii U Hardware

when a company has the reputation they had coming off a console like Wii (though it selled a lot) didnt get 90% of "core" games because it couldnt run any modern engine... yes they shouldnt say our next console will be core and then dont deliver. like i said im fine with Wii U as it is im just pointing out the things that they should be held accountable on. we let them off the hook every time and just sweep their lies up under the rug. and speaking of those 30 cent games i have all of them on my 3ds.... could care less about downloading them again on my Wii U.

And what exactly should we be doing? I really couldn't care less, I'm happy with the games I have and will be getting on Wii U.

I still couldn't care less what Nintendo said about 'core' (a nonsense made up term) gamers.

#242503 wii u ambassador program

I honestly can't tell if this is a joke or not.

The last launch I can remember that had actual decent games was the Dreamcast.

To expect anything more then a shiny new toy and some mediocre launch games really is pretty silly.

Though I must admit I was expecting w101 back in December and pikmin 3 in the launch window.

Oh well. The price you pay.

Exactly. How self entitled do you have to be to expect something for being among the early adopters? This is the risk you take, the system has been out 9-10 months. No one forced you to buy it.
Especially to those moaning about the lack of games. They don't hide what games are coming out.

#242532 wii u ambassador program

Posted by Poptartboy on 29 August 2013 - 03:59 AM in Wii U Hardware

i just disagree.... i mean marketing a console or selling people on the fact that this console is a core console yes at least GTA V could show the consumer you are taking the western market and core market seriously. like i can give you direct quotes from Iwata saying they will focus on the core gamer with Wii U. again i love my Wii U and going to enjoy the great library of games coming to it. i just get disturbed a little by how nintendo faithful( im one of them) are against holding them accountable for a horrible launch, non exsistent marketing, and non ability to convey what the Wii U is capable of.

And what exactly is a 'core' game? Something with shooting in it? Pikmin 3 and W101 are proper games. Wii U doesn't have to have all the same games as PS3.

And I'm not sure what you are on about. I wasn't happy at all the game delays, but I don't need to be compensated for it. They don't owe me something, I bought the console and basically played Assassins Creed 3 and Lego City and not a lot else, but I knew what I was getting into.

Do you seriously believe everything a company ever says? I go off what is available to buy at that time.
