Well, you see, GAME sold the Nintendo 3DS for 2499 NOK when it launched. The price is exactly doubled for the Wii U. If this price is not a placeholder, we can assume that the Wii U price will be about double the price of the Nintendo 3DS in other countries, riiiight?

US: $500 (3DS price $250)
GB: £340-460 (3DS price £170-230)
EU: €440 (3DS price €220)
etc....

I'm thinking $250-$300. I know that's pretty low for a console like the Wii U with the controller and all, but Nintendo's probably gonna do like Sony (and the 3DS?) and make it up on software sales.

Well the PS3 launched at £425/$500 for the 20GB model. The Wii U is more powerful than the PS3, it's innovative, and the controller alone is pretty high-tech. I wouldn't expect something much cheaper than $500.

I think it'll be something similar to the 3DS, with the bottom screen being on the controller and the upper screen being on the TV.

I don't like the idea of using a town as the menu though, as it would take to long to do anything. Having to walk around for 10 seconds to open the eShop has to be a little annoying.

TBH I'd prefer something less... overwhelming. That's the impression I get from some of the concepts. Seen the PS3's menu? Simple. Organized. Beautiful.

How about custom or free downloadable menus!? People who can code can develop their own ideas and design menus that you can download from the Wii U Store; free.

Danger (The Dude) is renting a server which we've been playing on for a while now.

Hopefully we'll get some COOL new characters this time, like Olimar. The new characters in MK7 were a huge disappointment. I also really hope that they'll bring back the two characters per car thing from DD, though I know that's not gonna happen ^^ Oh, and I wouldn't count on blue shells going away.

Olimar isn't a Mario character. Mario Kart only has characters from the Super Mario Bros franchise. Maybe if we get something like Nintendo Kart it would make sense to include characters like Olimar.

Also, someone mentioned that the NFC heart in the Rayman Legends trailer was put directly on the screen and not next to it. That's because the trailer was an internal concept video, basically saying "Hey, look what we can do with this." They were using an old devkit.

I'd be happy with any of those. I just really hope they'll drop Wii out of the name. The Wii has an image you know, it's the console for casual gamers. If Nintendo wants to attract a new hardcore audience, they shouldn't name it Wii U. It's not hardcore enough.

- Some folk at Retro Studios wanted to develop a new ip that involved 3rd person sci-fi action with intense aerial combat.
- Others apparently were leaning towards taking the Star Fox helm.

- Nintendo sees Retro Studios as a very competent developer and worked with them in creating the hybrid title of Star Fox – Metroid: Fusion Saga.

- The title has multiple gameplay mechanics and needed a wide staff of talent to incorporate the many ideas.

- The story begins as you control Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team on deep space mission in your Arwing, flying through a Meteos-like stage. As you enter a light speed warp, there’s a collision with an
orange ship (Samus’) and the game continues with you now plummeting to a planet as Samus in her craft. You’re in mild control of her ship, using the Wii U controller to look around and touch screen press
the lit up buttons to prepare for impact (while the TV stays locked on what you see out of the cockpit). You’re now on land, as a “yet again” stripped down Samus Aran with the most basic of weapon abilities, in first person perspective, traversing through this unknown planet.

- The game switches off between intense Arwing space and planetary battles as Fox makes his way to the planet that Samus crashed on and a Metroid Prime-like experience of gameplay as Samus on this planet, gradually uncovering its mysteries, leveling up, etc.

- The Star Fox stages represent what the series is best known for, including the chatter and coming to the aid of the rest of your team, all range mode battles, and on rails stages.

- The Metroid part of the game puts you alone, void of human or any talking character contact, and like the Prime series, sees you gaining upgrades, battling bosses, and in this case, repairing your ship.

- The game is said to be epic in size, scope, ambition.

- The pacing has been perfected to not interrupt what the feeling is behind either franchise, since Star Fox is more often known for being acceptable to have short sessions with and Metroid rather the opposite. You can opt to continue playing either just Samus’ part or Fox’s part without crossing over for much of the main game (or play it as it’s scripted back and forth), but will eventually have to complete both, as the characters will ultimately meet up.

- There will be later parts in the game where you do get to control Samus’ ship and fly it Star Fox style.

- Likewise, Fox McCloud will be controllable by foot (both the above and this bullet point represent a period in the game after the two sides meet up) and be played via 3rd person perspective. Think of Jet Force Gemini with Fox’s known agility as he’s portrayed to having in the Smash Bros. series. (Fox will move more like Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden and less like he did in Star Fox Adventures).

- Though a tentative title, the idea behind the story of “Fusion Saga” is both a play on the fact that the two series are fusing together into one game and of course, a storyline behind Andross using Metroids to enhance himself, his army, etc.

- Star Fox – Metroid: Fusion Saga is wholly a satisfying adventure game as Samus, an equally electrifying aerial combat game as Fox, and something that delivers an exciting, special change that fans will love.

- In consideration was the Star Fox portion having 4 player co-op online, but instead the game will have leaderboards for time and percent complete for all parts of the game and multiplayer will be simply versus mode based.

Nintendo ID is too similar to PSN ID. Network Name and Mii Tag sound pretty good to me.

It's not only 4chan, you ever hear of draw Muhammad day? It about showing that Islam is not safe from criticism and the people shouldn't be so affected. It's a failure of a religion if the worshipers cannot stand outsiders. I don't see Christians in an uproar if someone draws Jesus having sex with a pig.
If protecting your religion is killing others for depicting your profit as carp, then you're unfit to live in this current era. It's not that Muslims don't take their religion more seriously, they fail to see that we don't believe in their religion, they cannot say we are all infidels.

Muslim extremists do not kill because of criticism, or because people disagree with their religion. How is drawing their prophet criticism? It's a difference between criticizing and humiliating. The Bible does not forbid you to depict Jesus in any form. The Quran, however, forbids this, and everyone knows that. When people still chose to draw caricatures of Muhammed, that's not criticizing Islam. That is humiliating Islam. And of course some extremists will react to that. But keep that in mind - not every muslim goes around killing people for doing these kinds of things. There are some extremists, like in every other religion, but these are in very few numbers.

Also, you can't say that Islam kills people for empowering women. The fact that women are put lower in the society than men in some countries has nothing to do with Islam, it has something to do with the traditions in the countries - where it has always been normal for women to stay at home, make food, take care of the kids, clean, etc, while the men are out getting food.

In Norway where I live, and a lot of other countries, the US is known for being racist, however, I've always thought that only applied to a few people, and that the US was not any worse than any other countries. I'm not calling you racist by any means, but I certainly hope not your way of thought is universal in the US, cause that's where you're from, right? That would simply show how little you know about other countries and cultures.

This has absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH FREE SPEECH. Free speech is about expressing your opinion by talking. It does not have anything to do with pictures of Muhammed having sex with a pig. I agree with the fact that it's wrong of some muslims to kill people for doing unacceptable things regarding their religion, but on the other hand, people should know better. The fact that some muslims kill people who humiliate their religion does not mean they're preventing freedom of speech - it has nothing to do with that. They're simply protecting their religion. Again, I do not support this in any way, but I understand it, and you should also understand how most muslims take their religion more serious than most people in the western word.

Those 4chan dicks make me feel ashamed and angry for living in such a society, and I can't see how anyone can support them.
