#283278 Child of Light 9/10 from Nintendolife

Posted by SailtheSeas on 01 May 2014 - 01:52 AM in Wii U Games and Software

It's a double edged sword, people b*tch and moan Wii U gets no 3rd parties and even when it does they get the games on different platforms....

Then they proceed to tell everyone just how much they love Nintendo.

#283277 Has anyone gotten Child of Light yet?

Posted by SailtheSeas on 01 May 2014 - 01:49 AM in General Gaming

I want this game but won't buy another Ubisoft game while they're pushing that Uplay rubbish. Drop Uplay Ubisoft and i'll buy your games again.

#283276 XBOX ONE Production Could Temporarily Cease

Posted by SailtheSeas on 01 May 2014 - 01:48 AM in General Gaming

Yeah I totally agree with this. They could also get rid of Kinect and cut the price if things got to that point.

I still think they should release a Kinectless Xbox One bundle, remove the Kinect as a mandatory accessory, if they can bring the price down further, bring it down and that should help them out a lot. That said I'm just wondering if the Xbox Oned will be profitable at the end of its life cycle? My guess is it won't be and if it isn't I wonder just how many more shareholders will be calling for the division to be sold off?

The Wii U certainly has more exclusives but that's not a fair comparison considering its been out a year longer. They said they are not necessarily better exclusives either. Moving forward both PS4 and Xbox One will have far more exclusive games.

I'd challenge Microsoft and Sony to release exclusives which beat Nintendo's.

Neither company's first party offerings are a patch on franchises like 3D Mario games, Mario Kart, Zelda and Super Smash Bros.

Hardly a mature response. No need to be sarcastic.

There's always a need to be sarcastic.

#283273 “We Need To Redefine What Nintendo Must Do,” Says Iwata

Posted by SailtheSeas on 01 May 2014 - 01:39 AM in General Gaming

Nintendo should pursue other avenues such as the QoL platform and any other platform, that I agree with, but they need to be 100% committed to their games consoles if they still want to be relevant in the home console market in particular and the hand-held market. Their half-baked efforts with the Wii U has been insulting to Wii U gamers and as much as I love Nintendo's first party games, more than any other games on any platform, I will not purchase another Nintendo system.

The Wii U is a great little system, it's a very underrated system, a system which like the GC will never reach its full potential and that saddens me. It's all been a bit of a disappointment so far, but May 30th is around the corner and may be just may be things will change for the better.

#283272 Driveclub director: 1080p/30FPS is absolutely the best for our game

Posted by SailtheSeas on 01 May 2014 - 01:33 AM in General Gaming

1080p and 30 fps for a console with "high-end" capabilities? I was expecting 1440p and 120 fps at the very least.

#283271 Another has left Naughty Dog

Posted by SailtheSeas on 01 May 2014 - 01:30 AM in General Gaming

It's not just Sony's, Naughty Dog studio which is seeing departures, I've read there are job cuts taking place or due to take place at their Santa Monica Studios. I'm just wondering what effects this will have on ND games in the pipeline i.e. Uncharted 4 for instance.

Meanwhile at Nintendo nobody wants to leave, not even Miyamoto and that for me speaks volumes about Nintendo and with that MK8 bundle coming out, I'm expecting a stronger finish to 2014 for the big N.

#282865 XBOX ONE Production Could Temporarily Cease

Posted by SailtheSeas on 28 April 2014 - 06:45 AM in General Gaming

It makes sense to scale back on production of Xbox One's if there is an abundance of them sitting in retail outlets. The problem with Microsoft is that they really have shot themselves in the foot with their behaviour surrounding the Xbox One's policies and idiotic comments from Mattrick and Orth just compounded to make matters worse.

E3 2014 will be important for the Xbox One and its future, if Microsoft have a successful E3 and show case their games and give gamers a reason to purchase a Xbox One then there's no reason why the Xbox One cannot sell. They've got a talented face in Phil Spencer, they've got some interesting exclusive games up their sleeve and have yet more to show if the reported $1bn spent on securing exclusives is true, so they're not out of it yet.

You'll probably have a bit of a wank, I guess.

No, Sir, I was busy playing Borderlands on my Gaming PC.

It's amazing just how many fantastic and diverse games the PC has over other platforms and I'm making the most of it.

#282860 Will there be any new assassins creed on Wii U

Posted by SailtheSeas on 28 April 2014 - 06:30 AM in Wii U Games and Software

AC IV was a solid effort and a fantastic game, but still most Wii U owners didn't buy it. I'll be surprised if we see many ubisoft titles in the future, which is a shame as they're one of the better third party devs out there.

AC IV was quite a good game, I enjoyed it after the dismal AC III, but I believe it sold less units than AC III which beggars belief.

Sadly there are plenty of Wii U gamers who own third party games, but those people aren't in the majority and they're suffering as a result because if third party sales continue to be poor for the Wii U with Nintendo first party games selling far better then third parties will continue to ignore the system.

#282858 MCV UK : Mario Kart 8 will have a "year-long marketing campaign"

Posted by SailtheSeas on 28 April 2014 - 06:25 AM in Wii U Games and Software

If they're saying what I want them to say, there going to move consoles.

It's in the UK. Nintendo systems just don't really sell in the UK.

I hope this advertisement campaign helps boost sales of the Wii U in the UK.

#282855 My Gamepad Is Ready For Mario Kart 8. Is Yours?

Posted by SailtheSeas on 28 April 2014 - 06:24 AM in Wii U Games and Software

My Wii U which has spent the past five months not really being used will get some serious game time come May 30th.

#282852 Mario Kart 8 Bundle Confirmed!

Posted by SailtheSeas on 28 April 2014 - 06:20 AM in Wii U Hardware

It will boost system sales that's unquestionable, but by just how much? Nintendo games for the first few weeks tend to see a lot of units shifted only for those sales to tail off after a few weeks. I hope Mario kart 8 is able to combat this and helps boost Wii U sales for many months to come.

Well I would say you're in the minority then.

Oh no, whatever will I do now?

#282507 Evolve gameplay with commentary

Posted by SailtheSeas on 24 April 2014 - 04:37 AM in General Gaming

What has Valve got to do with this game?

I under the impression that Turtle Rock Studios were developing this game and 2K games was the publisher?

#282505 Is it easier to hit 1080p on the Wii U than the XBone?

Posted by SailtheSeas on 24 April 2014 - 04:25 AM in Wii U Hardware

What I want to know is why Nintendo thought it would be enough to go with 1GB of RAM for games?

#282500 Will there be any new assassins creed on Wii U

Posted by SailtheSeas on 24 April 2014 - 04:00 AM in Wii U Games and Software

only they know this year might be the last year if Wii U sales dont increase dramatically

I'll be surprised if they release anymore games with the exception of Just Dance on the Wii U after Watch dogs is released. All of their games have seen poor sales across the board on the Wii U and they must not be making much money or any money on their Wii U ports.

#282497 Will there be any new assassins creed on Wii U

Posted by SailtheSeas on 24 April 2014 - 03:51 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Yeah Ubi has gotten a lot of backlash for the whole Watchdog thing which they deserve but they have probably been the most consistent 3rd party Wii U supporter.

My only question is for how much longer?

#282494 Is it easier to hit 1080p on the Wii U than the XBone?

Posted by SailtheSeas on 24 April 2014 - 03:45 AM in Wii U Hardware

you know what he means. I just dont think developers give a crap about Wii U they dont feel the need to push it and try to make the best game.

That's because the install base is small and the demand for third party games just isn't there. If there was money to be made on the Wii U platform, then developers would be putting their games onto the system but there isn't, so they aren't bothering.

It has been proven time and time again that the Wii U is a capable little system, but let's face facts here it's not as powerful as its competitors. Toilet Snaker saying that the Wii U is more powerful than the Xbox One is simply not true and all three systems have their limitations, even the PS4 which seems to have problems running certain games at 60 fps.

Neither of the three consoles are particularly fantastic in hindsight, but what I like about the Wii U that it doesn't try and be a PC like the other two, it looks and feels like a games console should do. My only gripes are Nintendo's incompetence surrounding the system, the unlocked potential of the Gamepad and the fact that my Wii U has turned into a dust collector over the last five months.

Once Mario Kart 8 comes out my Wii U will be getting some serious game time.

With their next console, Nintendo need to be open and transparent about what's inside their systems and what their system is capable of producing. There's so many misinformed opinions about the Wii U's architecture that nobody knows really what's inside the Wii U and what it's capable of with the exception of Nintendo and third party studios which have spent many months with the system.

The fact that Project C.A.R.S is being released on the Wii U should automatically dismiss any notion that the Wii U is on par with the consoles of the previous generation.

You only have to look at the graphics produced in Bayonetta 2 to know that the Wii U towers over the Xbox 360 and PS3 in terms of what it can produce and it sure as hell is capable of holding its own with the x86 twins.

I don't know why Sailtheseas shares his pointless opinions on everything he knows nothing about.

Because it's a forum and people come together to post opinions. You in your previous post posted absolute waffle about hardware which saw you corrected by someone who clearly knows what they're talking about. I know very little about hardware other than the basics and so I don't try and pass off indepth analogies like you do.

#282487 Is it easier to hit 1080p on the Wii U than the XBone?

Posted by SailtheSeas on 24 April 2014 - 01:57 AM in Wii U Hardware

I don't know why people like Toilet_Snaker give their "expert input" on stuff they know very little about.

does this means that the wii u is next gen or not

Next gen just means the next console in the line, nothing less, nothing more.

#282477 What do you expect for the Wii 3/Fusion?

Posted by SailtheSeas on 23 April 2014 - 11:32 PM in Wii U Hardware

what time frame are you thinking about for this? how far away might all of this be?

Nintendo waited five years with the Gamecube before bringing out the Wii and then discontinued the Gamecube two years later in 2008 - however the Wii U is not selling nearly as many units as the Gamecube so far and if that trends continue I'd expect Nintendo tyo bring out a new console in late 2017.

#282475 Media Create Sales 4/14/2014-4/20/2014

Posted by SailtheSeas on 23 April 2014 - 11:26 PM in General Gaming

Man the Japan sales tax rise really has had a knock on effect of unit sales for consoles hasn't it? Also the Wii U is doing so badly it's unbelievable, only 5,000 units sold in Nintendo's home market? Mario Kart 8 can't come out soon enough.

#282474 New Watch Dogs gameplay on PS4

Posted by SailtheSeas on 23 April 2014 - 11:24 PM in General Gaming

I'm not being funny, but most games aren't really family orientated are they? I mean Dark Souls II won't have swearing in it, but you probably wouldn't play that with elder or younger family members.

As for Ubisoft and Watch dogs, I wish them all the best with this franchise but I won't be purchasing it.

#282473 Project CARS - Official Trailer #1 (PS4/XB1/WiiU/PC)

I'm not a racing simulation fan, but I'm pumped for this game, I'll be picking this up on Steam.

#282391 What I would do to save the wii u

Posted by SailtheSeas on 23 April 2014 - 10:58 AM in Wii U Hardware

I would make the best string of games the modern world has ever known. 3D World was the start, Tropical Freeze followed, now Mario Kart is nigh.

It has begun

As much as I liked 3D World, it is by far the worst 3D Mario game ever released imo, that's how good 3D Mario games have been.

Nah I think you misunderstood me. I'm not saying the company themselves are dudebro companies, but that is a big part of their consumer base, and it's something they not only acknowledge, but accept and embrace (as you can see in their advertisements, presentations, etc.)

Also the competing comment was said by one of the high ups in Ninty, either Iwata or Miyamoto or something. And it's true, Nintendo isn't attempting to directly compete with the other two consoles, they're solely concerned with doing well themselves and doing good for gaming. Sony and Microsoft however, are definitely competing directly with each other, and for some reason hate Nintendo, when Nintendo don't do crap to them.

And of course we all agree that something needs to be done to increase Wii U sale. That's why it gets brought up like every other week :P

Microsoft and Nintendo representatives have said nothing but good things about Nintendo.

Like it or not competition is good for industries and good for consumers.

Nintendo should embrace competition and not shun away from it.
