I've slept on it a night but I have to say that if this was the case I wouldn't bother with Nintendo anymore. When I buy a console or a game I don't want to be limited in my activities. I don't want an 'incomplete' console for €99 and then having to pay another €200 just so I can play normally, the same with games.

The ad thing works, but it works on mobiles and why. On my iPad I don't mind ads during my play session, as it is only 5-10 minutes long. Because these are so short I don't bother with getting the full game as the ads are just there in the bottom and don't intterupt my game. An console is designed for long play session, this would mean that during my 4 hour play session I would get in total 12 ads of 30s to a minute long. Not only does it break your sense of emerging but that wait time is also deadly in multiplayergames like CoD. I'd get increasingly annoyed up to the point I'd drop the system and I think most of the (cassual)gamers would feel the same.

Hey, you might have seen me on here before. With summer vacation around the corner I always try to do some new things, this year I was thinking about writing a couple of game reviews and maybe continue it when school starts again. So I got a couple of questions I wanted to ask you guys, (if mods feel this is in the wrong section they are free to move it).

 

First up I was wondering if there are any games you want reviews on, I've got one almost finished for Pikmin 3 (I know it's overdone but it's my favorite game) and writing one for Sonic Lost World next. I'll put the games I got down below so you can have a look. Secondly I was hoping that I could get your feedback on them, it's not something I'll do as a job but I like to take the opportunity to grow. I was thinking of posting these reviews every other week, so I could have a chance to get back into or finish the game. If I got a bit of an planning I'll share it somewhere on here.

I have Darksiders2 but haven't played it yet, so I wouldn't mind seeing that

But you don't need achievments to be a completionist. People played The Legend of Zelda over and over again to get everything, early games were great for completionists and those didn't have achievments. I'm not totally against achievments just against useless once like you defeated this boss or reached this chapter, if they are added in they should be real achievments.

Yes and no, I quite like the stamp idea as they are usable but I hate the idiotic points that MS and such have.

A main series Pokémon game remake? No I wouldn't buy that, a whole new main series game I might but I feel Pokémon is right at home on a handheld. I prefer the Pokémon Colleseum/XD approach on a console, much more story and action driven with more off a feel of purpose.

I keep hearing that reason, but I'm one of the few that have never taken pokemon games with me just to interact with others except once at a gamestop tournament back before online battling was even an option. the fact that all aspects of pokemon has gone online, imo debunks the belief in local interaction.

now i would like to know from everyone here, how many of you have taken your game out and met up with random people to interact? and no spot pass doesn't count

First up I think you ment streetpass. And nobody meets up with random people, there aren't any small tournaments left or anything the only moment you meet other pokémon players is when I go to Gamemania or MediaMarkt to download legendaries or something. I'm sure that when I look on FB there will be groups that meet for these things but I never actually did.

I must add that I'm not the most social person and like to enjoy my games alone. Nowadays I only use my 3Ds when I'm going somewhere and hell even that has pretty much been replaced with my iPad. Still Main Series games should never been on a home console. The games are to platonic and repetitive for that, I enjoy pokémon so much because I can play it fifteen minutes, out it away and play again after three hours. On a home console you play for hours afters hours and Pokémon doesn't fit with that. Would they want to go console like they would have change a lot to accomodate, I think that's why the spin offs went for an interesting story and hardly any pokémon to catch.

correct i did mean street pass. Well i guess that's where everyone is different. When i fire up pokemon i play for at least 15 to 30 minutes at home. And i think back to experiences like colosseum and XD, and those were awesome, spent loads of hours playing those games.

I'm just not a big fan off online, I play Pokémon just at much at home as anywhere else the first time around. After the main story I just can't be botherd so it just lies there. From my perspective, Pokémon just doesn't belong on a home console, well kinda with WiiU with your attack menu on the second screen but still. When I play on a console I want games like Xenblade, Zelda and other massives and pokémon as it is now doesn't fit.

And don't say the pokémon MMO project, cause the only mmo I like is WoW

Pokemon might be the one Nintendo series I never played. Just does not look appealing but looking appealing or not can change by playing them. My issue is besides not liking the designs of the pokemon is it looks so basic for a RPG like very novice to RPG's basic. I am not sure I can take something that simple in a genre I am so involved in. Like Dragon Quest is simple but still a great charm to the series so that's why I have not ruled out trying Pokemon. Any place that would be good to start?

X/Y is more about the graphical update and new mechanics like mega evolution and fairy types. Another good place to start is Black/White and Black 2/White 2, these had a great story and lots of post game content, something the X/Y really misses. So it kinda depends on what you want to focus on.

It's not going to happen, Gamefreak has said this om multiple occassions so why do people keep going on about it. The only way this might have a change is when something like the fusion comes along and you can play Pokémon on the big screen. But then it's still your run of the mill 3Ds Pokémon game.

They are not going to make some huge ass, 7 region Pokémon game on a console cause that isn't what Pokémon is at it's core. It's you traveling the world and discovering things, that's why it's on a handheld to be played while on the road. To easily pick it up and play, to simply trade with strangers you meet and just enjoy.

And Gamefreak will never give the OK for something like this as they don't want it and it's still up to them. You want to know why there is nothing to be gained, this is why there is nothing to be gained. It would differ too much from the core mechanics of a Pokémon game, the ideals behind it. So please, just let it go

Euhm, no. Most off these things should have been there on launch and while I wouldn't mind paying for cloud saving. I sure as hell aren't going to pay for voice chat. It's nice that you think about it but this is just looking in the wrong direction.

I mostly have voice chat as a payed feature because it really needs to be restricted to prevent children from accessing it. I don't know what would be a better method.

Can't the Parental Control settings be used for disabling voice chat? Or like video chat only with people from the friend list? Cause even eleven/twelve years old pay an fee for online, just look at xbox.

I don't think it'll have that hugr of an impact. The ones getting SSB for 3Ds for the most part won't have a WiiU so it would not really stand in the way of HW sales. Only for the ones who have both and are thinking off getting both the SSB versions which can't be that many.

1) StarFox Wii U  (where Fox STAYS INSIDE THE ARWING/LANDMASTER, and maybe just ONE stage on foot)
2) New Metroid game in first person perspective with a Halo CE-like multiplayer mode.
3) New F-Zero with super mega graphics and super mushrooms/acid psychodellic tracks that will get you straight to the hospital
4) Whole brand new Nintendo-made mature/bloody first person shooter with massive multiplayer
5) If Nintendo can't do numer 4: Ask Sega to make The Conduit 3 with good graphics, better story, better AI and massive multiplayer
6) MMORPG Pokémon game exclusive for Wii U. Openworld where you start with one Pokémon and play throughout the game like in the portable versions but online so that you can see other trainers walking around and be able to ask for a duel in real time.
7) Get the annually CoD and PES entries every year to have at least those two basic multiplatforms and flip the bird to EA'S Battlefield and FIFA.
8) Get for Online download the first entries of games that Wii U just got since the sequels like Darksiders 1, Bayonetta 1, Mass Effect 1, 2, etc.
9) Get Gamecube best selling games on e-shop
10) Grand Theft Auto V for Wii U

I'd just like to point out that Starfox U is coming 2015, Metriod is always on Nintendo's back mind, an MMORPG Pokémon will never happen as Gamefreak doesn't want it, Bayo 2 comes with Bayo 1 and GC games will be coming to the VC it's only a matter of time.

would love to have custom menus so I can make my Wii U look the way I want it to but.... not gonna happen.

Who knows, the 3DS is getting them so why not the U.

Mine indeed says Nintendo on the cable, however my back is different (EU).

The only thing I notice with the Pro controller is that the joysticks might be a little lighter than the once in the Gamepad, but that's kinda nitpicking.
