#171980 Google Maps with Street View now live on Nintendo's Wii U eShop

Posted by nothinglost on 16 February 2013 - 05:12 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I have to chime in on this one...

Last night my wife and I were showing our 4 year old daughter all of the places in the world that we have traveled to that she has never seen.

This alone was worth a million dollars to see the look on her face when we were able to "walk" around the Eiffel Tower in Paris and look at castles in Spain. It's about as close as possible that we will be able to recreate this for her and for that we are very happy.

Also it's super fun looking at all of the places we have lived over the years and just seeing how they have changed.

Way to go Nintendo for continuously thinking outside of the 'videogame' box and pushing the limits and expectations of what consoles can do.

We can't wait for more unique features and applications like Street U.

#171981 Watchdogs, possibly going to Wii U?

Posted by nothinglost on 16 February 2013 - 05:14 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I really hope this ends up being true....

From the gameplay footage I've seen it looks beautiful and from what we've seen of the Wii U ability I am confident that this game can (and will) run on the Wii U very well.

Let's cross our fingers for more Huge titles to become "All Home Console" releases moving forward.

(GTA V........... please)

#172961 Rayman Legends is getting free online challenges this April and...

Posted by nothinglost on 19 February 2013 - 06:39 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I am pleasantly surprised by this news and I look forward to checking out the Challenges that they have in store for us Wii U owners.

Although the delay does suck, at least they are trying to make up for it with this special exclusive. Not too many Devs/Publishers would hand this out for free....

#172963 Amazing Spider Man Wii U March 5th

Posted by nothinglost on 19 February 2013 - 06:40 AM in Wii U Games and Software

^^^ I agree 100%

Not sure if I'll pick this up right away but this will definitely end up on my gaming shelf at some point.

#173068 Are things really this dire?

Posted by nothinglost on 19 February 2013 - 12:21 PM in Wii U Hardware

I had a few friends over last night that had not previously played Wii U......

Guess what?

They were blown away by Zombie U, Batman and Super Mario Bros U.

They both kept saying "This is gonna change games."

Seeing friends reactions to the systems and it's unique features is always a thrill for me.

The Wii U will sell a ton of systems over time. This almost always happens at every launch (and the following 4 - 6 months after) with every system.

Once more 1st & 3rd party games start filling up the shelves we'll see a huge increase in public awareness of how amazing this console really is.
:)

#173488 Very interesting article about WiiU Indie Support

#174484 Why are people doubting Wii U now because of PS4?

Posted by nothinglost on 22 February 2013 - 07:31 AM in Wii U Hardware

This topic is kind of funny to me.... Because I was thinking the exact opposite.

In my humble opinion: Sony's very weak Press Conference reveal (which contained yet another version of the same old Dual Shock Controller with....gasp! A touch pad!!! Wow.... Way to go Sony. You're definitely not biting off of Nintendo's ideas at all) didn't prove much of anything except it has silenced rumors about when the system will launch.

Every one knew that they were gonna release the PS4 soon (this year or next) but no one knew exactly which year.

To me that's all that they actually revealed.

HD games and Social Media Integration are almost mandatory now so that didn't surprise me at all.

Once again, just my opinion. Not trying to step on anyone's toes. Especially the OP. :)

#174485 Nice to see the WiiU looks to be doing ok.

#176491 Ubisoft LinkedIn profile points to Splinter Cell: Blacklist for Wii U

Posted by nothinglost on 26 February 2013 - 06:52 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Any 3rd Party Titles (AAA or not) are a good thing for Nintendo.

This type of game isn't really my bag at all but the more games the merrier.

#176492 Need for Speed Most Wanted U Developer Walkthrough

Posted by nothinglost on 26 February 2013 - 06:55 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I really am not usually a racer type of gamer but the more I see of this game the more I actually want to buy it.

I think that Most Wanted and Lego City are getting my money come March.

:)

#176493 Arkham City: Armored Edition - What do you guys think

Posted by nothinglost on 26 February 2013 - 06:57 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I love this game!!!

I am a huge Batman fan and I have never played Arkham Asylum or City previously... (because I don't have a P3BOX)

It looks amazing for a Nintendo console.

This game along has made me believe that Nintendo are really swinging for the fences with this console.

#176607 Lego Batman 2 coming to wii u

Posted by nothinglost on 26 February 2013 - 11:33 AM in Wii U Games and Software

^^^ I suppose you have a point but there are still Tons of people who have never played the game before and will most likely buy it for Wii U because of the Off TV & gamepad controls.

I know i'll be picking it up. ;)

#177831 Really ! Still no zen pinball after 3 month's 3 month's wow

Posted by nothinglost on 01 March 2013 - 06:52 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Well.... I'd be willing to bet that Zen Studios isn't very happy that's it's not out in NA yet too.

It's their company that will make money off of the release after all.

They keep saying it's "coming soon" on their facebook page so don't worry. It will be in our living rooms soon....

#178035 Lego Batman 2 coming to wii u

Posted by nothinglost on 01 March 2013 - 04:40 PM in Wii U Games and Software

If you've not played this game i can recommend it, i've finished it on the 360 and it's been my favourite Lego game to date, although that may change after the release of Lego City!

Nice avatar dude!!!!!!!

The King is a favorite in our household.

#178577 Lego Batman 2 coming to wii u

Posted by nothinglost on 03 March 2013 - 06:41 AM in Wii U Games and Software

^^^ Nice!!!

We're crossing our fingers for a North American tour in the next year or so....

We went to the Philladelphia show on the Gimmie Your Soul Please tour but The King lost his voice that day so they had to cancel.....

One and only chance we've ever had to see him and we drove 4+ hours only to be turned away at the door.....

:(

#178920 What HD remakes of nintendo games do you want on wii u?

Posted by nothinglost on 04 March 2013 - 06:55 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I'm not too sure if I'd prefer an HD remake or just a brand new experience all together but for me it's....

Excitebike.

I absolutely love the Excitebike 3D for 3DS. I think an update of this awesome franchise would do them very well.

Also I really really really really want them to finally release Tetris Attack on Virtual Console!!!

Is it so much to ask for a beloved puzzle game that I'm willing to pay for again?

:)

#179001 Why are people doubting Wii U now because of PS4?

Posted by nothinglost on 04 March 2013 - 12:05 PM in Wii U Hardware

^^^ I agree with both of you.

Nintendo has always done their own thing regardless of how the other home console companies played things.

I honestly don't buy any of the "Nintendo is failing" hype that's running rampant online.

Wii U sales will pick up eventually just like all home consoles do.... Over time when there are awesome games.

I think that the next few weeks will be a good next step for the Wii U in terms of good games catching the publics attention. Whether or not this directly translates to a boost in console sales is yet to be determined. At the very least, this is the beginning of another great console run for Nintendo.

March 5th - Amazing Spider Man

March 18th - Lego City Undercover

March 19th - Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

March 19th - Need for Speed: Most Wanted

March 26th - Walking Dead: Survival Instinct

And..... Here.... We....... Go.....

#179371 Why are people doubting Wii U now because of PS4?

Posted by nothinglost on 05 March 2013 - 07:10 AM in Wii U Hardware

Well we could get a general sense of what our attach rate is here on the forum by stating how many games we each purchased at the time of the console purchase.

I personally picked up 2 titles when I purchased the system at launch:

Super Mario Bros U

Zombie U

Since then I have purchased:

Batman: Arkham Asylum - A.E.

Mighty Switch Force - H.E.

Trine 2: Director's Cut

Puddle

Just as a side note - here are some games that I plan on purchasing soon(ish)

(this list is just off the top of my head and I most likely won't purchase all of them immediately at launch)

Amazing Spider Man

Lego City Undercover

Need For Speed

Little Inferno

Mutant Mudds

Zen Pinball

Bit Trip Runner 2

Epic Mickey 2

Darksiders 2

Walkind Dead: Survival Instinct

Rayman Legends

#179417 PS4 launch=Wii U price cut?

Posted by nothinglost on 05 March 2013 - 10:03 AM in Wii U Hardware

^^^ While I do agree with some of the points that you made Goomba, I honestly feel that the price point is perfect for this console.

It's not completely out of reach for the younger gamers and it isn't too cheap to make it seem like an under powered machine.

I think what a lot of gamers tend to forget is the simple fact that home consoles are essentially Super Gaming PC's with proprietary components built into each of them.

For me $350 bucks is a small price to pay for an HD Nintendo console by itself, then you add in the amazing Gamepad (which some other companies would probably try and retail for around $200 - $250 all on it's own) and the eventual swarm of awesome Nintendo 1st Party I.P.'s and this is recipe for awesomeness!!!

Not trying to start an argument here, just tossing my 2 cents into the conversation.

Basically my opinion is that Nintendo is doing it correctly this time by launching first, with amazing innovation and a decent price point.

;)
