^^^ Me too man.
I still haven't even beat Arkham Asylum or Amazing Spider Man or Zombie U. (Which is completely fine by me.)
Come to think of it, the only game that I have officially completed on Wii U is Super Mario Bros U.

^^ Nice, thanks for your thoughts on the game.
I'm still on the fence about picking it up simply because I just bought Lego City Undercover and Walking Dead: Survival Instinct this past week. 2 new games in 1 week is enough for me.... 3 is just crazy. Hehehe.....
Maybe I'll grab it when it drops in price or if I see it used somewhere.
I'm very interested but I've got plenty of gaming to take care already. ![]()

Its too bad you missed the sale on Origin for $30, thats where I bought my copy, just got it in the mail last night. Definately pick it up down the road when you get the cash.
Yeah seriously...
I found out about the sale and then by the time I went on the Origin site it was already back up to the full $59.99 price point.
I'm sure I'll end up with this game when it drops below the $40 mark in a few months.

^^ As corny as it is.... I think they did a great job of getting the point across without a lousy voice over narrator telling us exactly what's going on in the game. Now let's just hope that people buy the game at launch....

^^^ While I do agree with some of the points that you made Goomba, I honestly feel that the price point is perfect for this console.
It's not completely out of reach for the younger gamers and it isn't too cheap to make it seem like an under powered machine.
I think what a lot of gamers tend to forget is the simple fact that home consoles are essentially Super Gaming PC's with proprietary components built into each of them.
For me $350 bucks is a small price to pay for an HD Nintendo console by itself, then you add in the amazing Gamepad (which some other companies would probably try and retail for around $200 - $250 all on it's own) and the eventual swarm of awesome Nintendo 1st Party I.P.'s and this is recipe for awesomeness!!!
Not trying to start an argument here, just tossing my 2 cents into the conversation.
Basically my opinion is that Nintendo is doing it correctly this time by launching first, with amazing innovation and a decent price point.

^^^ I agree with both of you.
Nintendo has always done their own thing regardless of how the other home console companies played things.
I honestly don't buy any of the "Nintendo is failing" hype that's running rampant online.
Wii U sales will pick up eventually just like all home consoles do.... Over time when there are awesome games.
I think that the next few weeks will be a good next step for the Wii U in terms of good games catching the publics attention. Whether or not this directly translates to a boost in console sales is yet to be determined. At the very least, this is the beginning of another great console run for Nintendo.
March 5th - Amazing Spider Man
March 18th - Lego City Undercover
March 19th - Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
March 19th - Need for Speed: Most Wanted
March 26th - Walking Dead: Survival Instinct
And..... Here.... We....... Go.....

Well we could get a general sense of what our attach rate is here on the forum by stating how many games we each purchased at the time of the console purchase.
I personally picked up 2 titles when I purchased the system at launch:
Super Mario Bros U
Zombie U
Since then I have purchased:
Batman: Arkham Asylum - A.E.
Mighty Switch Force - H.E.
Trine 2: Director's Cut
Puddle
Just as a side note - here are some games that I plan on purchasing soon(ish)
(this list is just off the top of my head and I most likely won't purchase all of them immediately at launch)
Amazing Spider Man
Lego City Undercover
Need For Speed
Little Inferno
Mutant Mudds
Zen Pinball
Bit Trip Runner 2
Epic Mickey 2
Darksiders 2
Walkind Dead: Survival Instinct
Rayman Legends

^^ Nice. Thanks for the info.
Just my opinion: At first I was annoyed with the long loading times but now it doesn't bother me at all because I know what's awaiting once it's loaded!!! The game is so damn good that it's worth all the loading time!
Not to mention the awesome 70's style Starsky & Hutch load screen music. I have found that dancing along with the music makes the load times much easier. ![]()

I'm not sure if it was you who I answered in another thread regarding this specific question but here ya go....
I haven't "died" in the city, I have however been eaten by a shark in the ocean and when that happens you simply respawn on land next to the water. It takes some coins away from your total but it never says anything like "you died 13 times" or anything like that. I'm not sure if there is a menu that keeps tracks of things like this in the game like GTA. It would be neat if there was a screen that kept a record of things like this. Maybe there is and I just haven't looked for it yet.
Too busy running around the city doing crazy stuff. ![]()

Anyone else like the nintendo references throughout the game? I think it's cool and amusing. Also two words of advice, beware: Sharks .
^^^ Dude seriously!!!
The first time we encountered a shark it definitely made everyone in the room jump and shout!!! It was awesome!!!!
Now our daughter always wants to get eaten by the shark down by the ferry. Too funny.
I've only encountered 1 Nintendo reference so far and it was a sound clip. Pretty neat!!!

^^ Well as long as you're not gonna go and trade in the console just because of slow DL speeds or some crap.
I'm sure that if this is a widespread problem that Nintendo will eventually patch the issue. (Eventually being the key word here)

No its not. I don't have the same issue on my 3DS, PS Vita, iPhone or iPad. Even when I had my PS3 and Xbox 360 on wireless they were a lot faster with downloads. The download speeds on the Wii U are totally unacceptable. Fortunately I have no intention of downloading full retail games and even digital only games except for the odd one. The only things I do download are demos and the firmware updates.
Hmmm.... I have no idea then man.
That just sucks that it's only on your Wii U.

^^^ I honestly think that is specifically an internet speed connection issue.
I have never had any issues with Downloads on my Wii U.
When everyone was saying the System Updates were taking them hours and hours and hours it only took my console about 45 minutes to download and then 10 minutes to Install. So my hypothesis is that it isn't an issue with the console itself but rather an issue with how many pipes are open on your network and how much bandwidth your router is giving the Wii U.
Just my two cents. ![]()

I have never played a lego game before because they all look childish. This is the first one that catches my interest though and I have to ask, which open world is better, this game or assassins creed 3? I heard AC3 is boring and kinda dead... how about lego city? any random world events happen similar to red dead redemption?
Well I can't speak for AC3 as I haven't played it yet but I can speak for Lego City.
The open world in Lego City is very very similar to the open breathing world in GTA: Vice City.
Random events happen all over the place in Lego and they are almost always very funny and entertaining.
I would totally pick up this game if you're looking for a free roaming open world experience. ![]()

The game is great!!!
It has a HUGE open world and it plays very similar to GTA 3 & Vice City.
I would pick it up if I were you.
Totally worth the price.

^^^ Nicely said Goodtwin.
It's definitely hard to explain the game to someone if they haven't played either a previous GTA or any of the previous Lego games because it's basically a very good blend of both of those styles.
I can't wait to explore more of the world tonight.

Like nothinglost said but for kids. I think it's an okay game, but if you haven't played a LEGO game or you're not into them it's not a good pick-up.
Yup, it's definitely a "kid friendly" version of GTA but that being said, it isn't just for Kids. It's simply a game for all ages.
I'm 31 and our daughter is 4 and we both love it for totally different reasons.
The other night we had friends over and we all played together (4 year old and 4 30+ year olds) and we all had a blast.

I agree and disagree at the same time.
In my humble opinion - I think that even if the system "wasn't ready for retail" when they launched, it would have been a bad marketing move to launch a console in the Spring. Every gamer (and parent with a wallet) knows that new consoles launch in the Holiday Season. I honestly think that's why it took so long for the 3DS to pick up steam, because they launched in later winter/early spring.
Regardless of whether it was a good/bad choice to launch when they did, we have the Newest Nintendo Console and it's Awesome!!!!
Yeah the past few months sucked as far as new games are concerned but that happens with every single console launch.
I used to run a game store back in the early 2000's and this was the exact same situation that happened when the Gamecube, DS, PS3, and 360 all launched but for some strange reason everyone seems to forget about those launches when they are referring to the current state of the gaming industry.
There are ups and downs just like any other industry.
We are all very lucky to be gamers in this era of multiple consoles "competing" with each other for our hard earned money.
Once again in my opinion, I don't really consider Nintendo to be in "competition" with Sony and/or Microsoft simply because Nintendo fans are so dedicated to the quality that goes synonymously with their name. I will (hopefully) always be a Nintendo fan/consumer unless they completely change their ways. (which I don't see happening anytime soon)

I am very happy to hear what the Dev Team has to say about that video that was going around with those 2 guys bashing it.
Let's cross our fingers that this game is at the very least, good.
I'm ready with my money.... Now just don't suck. ![]()
