#74374 Wonder if the Japanese Bird Garden Demo will be on the Wii U at launch?

Posted by Rockalot on 24 April 2012 - 04:21 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I actually think Nintendo should capitalise on expanding their online services by mixing it in with on board content for the system. So, the 3DS came with a bunch of software to show off what it can do, right? Well why not have simple minigames and classic games like chess that are automatically on everyone's console and have them integrated in to the online/friend system. Almost like the system is a giant, slow paced version of Mario Party.

#81237 Will Nintendo show off next-gen graphics?

...Yes.

#74894 Will F-Zero make a comeback ?

Posted by Rockalot on 26 April 2012 - 12:42 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Also:

All it really needs for the Wii U is a 30 player online mode with customisable vehicles (Speed, Weight etc) on top of what was in GX (<3 that game).

Maybe a track maker as well.

This. This a million times over.

#71444 WiiU hardware to "blow current gen out of the water"

Posted by Rockalot on 11 April 2012 - 06:04 AM in Wii U Hardware

Sounds great! E3 can't come soon enough! I'm guessing we'll see Colonial Marines, Pikmin 3, and the Unreal Engine 4

#73131 Wii U Smash Bros 2 random characters I thought of.

Posted by Rockalot on 19 April 2012 - 06:26 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Yeah that is actually a great idea. I'd have them as their own characters though, as much as I like the idea of a Majoras Mask Link, simply because those are unique characters with a lot of depth potential.

Speaking of the SSB Wii U roster, it'd be great if Sakurai does a similar stunt with this game like he did with Brawl, where he ups the website immediately after the (fingers crossed) teaser trailer at E3 confirming basic characters we know are coming back, and once a month he releases a new character on to the website, and once every other alternating week, he reveals either and item or a stage or a mode, etc.

That would be the pimp dogs.

Isaac FTW, btw. And Kid Goku.

You mean SmashBros Dojo? That site man.......Smash Bros Brawl is the number 1 game I have ever gotten SUPER excited for. Every single day I would see what was updated on the site whether a new Item was revealed or character or stage or whatever.

That's the one! It was a brilliant idea. Let's hope they do something similar again.

#71448 Wii U news incoming

Posted by Rockalot on 11 April 2012 - 06:10 AM in Wii U Hardware

I work making games as well but small indie stuff, and we haven't heard anything from Nintendo. I'm really hoping this changes soon. I'd love to put our games on the Wii U store or the eShop, but as they are right now they're incredibly inaccessible to develop for, not to mention expensive. I'm talking $2,000 up to $10,000 just for the dev kits! We'll stick to the iPhone and Android for now, thanks. On the flip side, Sony is fronting a great development suite so indie devs for the PS3 and Vita, which we're considering because it's cheap and easy. But, we'll see.

Posted by Rockalot on 17 April 2012 - 03:26 AM in Wii U Hardware

if Nintendo were not lying when they said more 3rd party support earlier the dev kits in turn would be lowered in cost, rockalot
we do take rumors with (actually quite a lot) some salt, but bad talk about the Wiiu is better said when released with that info so we don't lose ground to trolls on the internet
aka:possibly you

What? Obviously I don't know the cost of development on the Wii U because Nintendo isn't dealing with smaller developers yet, the entire point of my post was to say that I hope they DO make it cheaper than their current model or change the model all together, because as a tiny development team we would LOVE to have our content on the 3DS for example, but we can't, because as a company we don't have the funds to back the opportunity to do so. On the other hand, we can upload something to the app store pretty much for free and Apple takes 30%, which in my opinion is a better system.

Please read what I've posted before you comment. I don't like being called a troll by someone who can't be bothered listening to other people before calling them out for something they haven't done. Troll.

Back on topic: I'm not surprised, TRON, but it's still a relief to hear :) I understand why your friend can't tell us more, I just can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to E3!

EDIT:

Do you have any games on the app store? If so which ones.

Currently no, but ask me again in a month and I'll have a different answer for you :) you can check out some of the work we've done for PC at www.rockinmoses.com but it's all pretty rough to be honest. Hopefully we have something that better shows our talents up and running soon!

#78580 Wii U colors (With Pictures)

Posted by Rockalot on 16 May 2012 - 07:23 AM in Wii U Hardware

I have to say the black console with the red LED would be fantastic.

However, I think with a slight physical re-design, white would in fact be the best bet. White, coupled with a selectable LED colour to suit your taste.

#142513 Wii u chat question

Posted by Rockalot on 03 December 2012 - 07:00 AM in Wii U Hardware

They should have notifications beyond the flashing home button. They should also have tiny minigames on the bottom screen to play with people as you chat.

Also a big problem is i got wind of someone calling me the other day, while I was in Miiverse. So I answered it, and it took a good two minutes to actually get in to the call. By that time he had obviously hang up and I had to call him back, which took another couple of minutes.

It's cool once you get it going, but terribly inconvenient. It's fairly useless at the moment.

#98115 Wii U Box Case design revealed?

Posted by Rockalot on 07 August 2012 - 04:15 AM in Wii U Games and Software

I have to agree with Auzzie Wingman and the others, as a designer I think they're woeful. Could you get more kindergarten? Total waste of space as well. These aren't legit. I hope not anyway.

#98494 Wii U Box Case CONFIRMED!

#99357 Which style do you want Wii U 3d mario to be in?

Posted by Rockalot on 13 August 2012 - 04:13 AM in Wii U Games and Software

3D land was amazing, especially the second half of the game after I thought it was over. It wasn't the epic adventurous Mario game I love, but it was the perfect arcade puzzle quick fix Mario the 3DS needed.

That said, it doesn't belong on a console. I love all the 3D Mario games but Mario 64 always felt more agile, with a little less hand holding and a little more adventurous. So that's where my vote goes.

#82795 Which E3 2012 conferences will you watch?

I'll be at work during Sony's conference, but I'll be watching Microsoft and Nintendo live in the wee hours of the morning.

#184728 What Anime would you like to see as a videogame change or make happen?

Posted by Rockalot on 20 March 2013 - 08:19 PM in Wii U Games and Software

DRAGON BALL!!!! Obviously the franchise has many popular games under it's belt, but... They could be so much better! Keep'em commin'!

As for one that hasn't been done... Hmm... I think a One Piece game that doesn't follow the main characters and you get to start your own pirate crew, as an action RPG, would be neat-o.

#185998 What Anime would you like to see as a videogame change or make happen?

Posted by Rockalot on 24 March 2013 - 11:36 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I would love a properly done DragonBall Z RPG on Wii U where you go through the Anime stories and What If stories AS YOUR OWN CREATED CHARACTER. There hasn't been a decent DragonBall Z RPG since DragonBall Z The Legacy Of Goku 1 & 2. Oh and DragonBall Z Attack Of The Saiyans on DS.

Agreed! Except I wasn't a fan of the Legacy of Goku games, my favorite Dragon Ball Z RPG to date is Legend of the Super Saiyan on the SNES. That was unreal.

#75256 UPDATED Rayman Legends WiiU LEAKED TRAILER

Posted by Rockalot on 27 April 2012 - 04:07 AM in Wii U Games and Software

It's also the old design. I think it's just the dev kit, really.

Also in regaurds to the placement of objects on the controller,

I actually think this might be confirmation of the feature I heard rumours about. The name of the technology escapes me at the moment but it's pretty much something they use like an eftpos touch scanner (or like the machines on public transport). So this would essentially be in-built in to the controller and let you purchase things on Nintendos online store without entering your details, but if it's true you could use it for game related activities as well, it seems.

#75252 UPDATED Rayman Legends WiiU LEAKED TRAILER

Woa woa, how exactly is this placing things on the screen and scanning it in to gameplay thing work?? That's a pretty big deal... Also YES this is great and wow that looks amazing. Yes!
