#286372 Post Your Wii U Library and Collection

Posted by WiiUCDN on 27 May 2014 - 02:11 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I just bought my Wii U on the 12 th of May, so right now I'm still building up my collection. I'm going with old school games first before I buy Wii U titles.

Anyways so far I have:

Super Mario World (NOT the 3D)

New Super Mario Bros U

Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3

Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels

Assassin's Creed 3 (Downloaded)

Ducktales Remastered (Downloaded)

Mario Kart 64

Seem's kinda lame right now, but I guess it's alright considering when I bought my system and the fact I'm going for old school games for now, the exception being Mario Kart 8 after release.

I just added two more classics:

Super Mario Kart

Super Mario 64

The pre-paid Visa/Mastercards work great on The Wii Shop Channel !

#286976 MK8 free game survey - just thought 'd see what's everone's plans...

Since I already have New Super Mario Bros. U when I get Mario Kart 8 the summer before that date I can give it to somebody on this board if they want it....I don't really mind. None of those games I'm interested in having that they want you to choose.

#288287 Wii U hardware sales up 666% in UK

Posted by WiiUCDN on 05 June 2014 - 10:42 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Mario Kart 8 is currently sold out at my local Walmart, gamestop, and target. The sales are gonna be crazy

I called my local Toys R Us Store too ! The game is sold out in the Canadian store. It's about a dollar or so cheaper to buy it there then EB Games (it's a store like Game Stop). Toys R Us told me that they will have more in next week, but I have decided to wait until June 30th or after to get the game. I'm hoping I can get a Canada Day sale on the game.American's might get it cheaper on the 4 th of July too.

I think Wii U will hit 10million by the end of 2014

Yes, very easily ! Right now I'm buying 3 Wii games this month, Super Smash Brothers Brawl ( Ebay), Mario All Stars (Ebay I'm thinking), and Mario Kart Wii (The Source). By Canada Day I'll start buying Wii U games.

#288610 WiiU banned in the US...if Phillips has it's way

Posted by WiiUCDN on 07 June 2014 - 04:06 PM in Wii U News

This is stupid...Never buy Phillips products again dully noted. There's no way the Wii U will EVER be banned in the US. Why wait till now is my question when the Wii came out a few years ago in 2006???  Nintendo will win, I have no doubt.

#286829 PDP confirms Gamecube inspired controller for Wii U

Posted by WiiUCDN on 27 May 2014 - 07:55 PM in Wii U Hardware

Controller accessories were everywhere in the Wii era, with various companies fighting over a piece of the sizeable, tasty pie of the system's sales. We can expect that trend to continue to some degree with the Wii U, though the uptake has been slower due to its smaller fan-base to date. Fear not, third-party controller fans, there is a product coming out this Holiday season with which you can stuff your festive stocking, clearly designed to tap into the upcoming Super Smash Bros. craze.

We say it's for Wii U, which is only technically true. PDP (Performance Designed Products) has announced the "Wired Fight Pad" 'for Wii U', but in reality it's merely compatible with Nintendo's latest system by virtue of its support for Wii controllers. As the name suggests this is wired, and mimics the Classic Controller / Classic Controller Pro setup by plugging into a Wii Remote — if a game supports the Wii Classic Controller range — as the upcoming Super Smash Bros. surely will — then this will work.

That's not particularly impressive in itself, though more pleasing is confirmation that the design will take inspiration from the original GameCube controller, and courtesy of an official license with Nintendo will have a design featuring characters "such as Mario, Yoshi, and Princess Peach". It'll hit North America this Holiday season at a price of $24.99.

As you can see in the image above, PDP has previously released controllers — and many other accessories — on the Wii and other systems, in that case mimicking a mini-fight stick setup; with Wii U owners keen to use a GameCube-style controller on their new system, this could be an intriguing option.

We'll reach out to the company to check if a prototype image is available. In the meantime let us know if this is a controller you're interested in picking up at the end of the year.

#286412 The Wii might as well be a Gamecube system now !

Posted by WiiUCDN on 24 May 2014 - 10:19 AM in Wii U Hardware

I do kind of have to agree with this in a way - With the WiiConnect servers being shut off, you need to connect to a unofficial server which currently requires Homebrew. I don't know how difficult it is to use and keep homebrew on the Wii U's Wii mode.

WARNING: THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY ON YOUR WII U. IF YOUR NOT WILLING TO DO THIS I RECOMMEND JUST GETTING A NORMAL WII AND CONNECTING TO THEIR SERVER OR GETTING A WII LAN ADAPTER. THEIR SERVER CANNOT BE USED TO PLAY WII GAMES ONLINE AND NEITHER CAN YOU USE A WII LAN ADAPTER FOR PLAYING ONLINE.

#286392 The Wii might as well be a Gamecube system now !

Posted by WiiUCDN on 24 May 2014 - 09:19 AM in Wii U Hardware

I mean think about it, the Wii U can't play Gamecube games and the Wii can ! The first one is the original one capable of playing Wii and Gamecube games. This is RVL-001. It's the Wii that comes with the stand so it can sit vertically. In order to use a GCN game, you must have a gamecube memory card and a gamecube controller.

Nintendo shut down the Wi-Fi Connection service for DS and Wii on May 20, 2014. What is the point of a Wii anymore as most people will probably want to get a Wii U, like me that owns one. Is the Wii still worth buying if you use it as a Gamecube. Thoughts....

I know a store that sells plenty of Gamecube games......

What

I'm saying the only use for a Wii right now might as well be to play Gamecube Games, otherwise the system seems to be pretty much retiring.

#286399 The Wii might as well be a Gamecube system now !

Posted by WiiUCDN on 24 May 2014 - 09:36 AM in Wii U Hardware

I use my Wii U for Wii U games, and I simply picked up an old gamecube and stuck my memory card in it. And it came with the lan adaptor and gameboy advance adaptor, so it's more than what the Wii was capable of.

Ah yes, that makes more sense I guess. I'm just thinking about if your somebody like me who already owns a Wii U and can go on the internet With Wi - fi it might not be a bad idea for Wii U owners to get it to play GC games. And Yea, it's GREAT if you put Homebrew on the Wii.

You can say that again and again and again and again

LOL, it was giving me trouble and it came out several times so I had to edit my post.

#288354 Mario Maker Discussion

How to Play:

“Mario Movie Maker” from SuperMario Games engages the player’s creative side. The game’s challenge is to make an honest-to-goodnesscartoon movie featuring popular characters from the NES Mario world. Develop a story line, choose backgrounds and scenery, add characters, include music and dialog, and then play back the finished movie for an appreciative and admiring audience. Mouse controls and help screens make it all easy to do in this unusual browser-based game.

#286091 Been Playing Since original NES

Posted by WiiUCDN on 22 May 2014 - 12:09 PM in Introduction Central

I`m like you ! I remember when I was 7 years old I woke up Christmas morning to find a NES under my tree. A few years later mom again bought me a SNES for my birthday ! I had sooo many games for that system..... A few years later again when I was 12 my Pop (RIP Pop) bought me an N64. After that I gave up buying Nintendo and the whole gaming idustry in general. I`m finally back to gaming after buying a Wii U and I`m SUPER stoked about the new games and old games I can get from my past at 29. I`ve played XBox at my friends house a few times, but I never did buy one.

Posted by WiiUCDN on 05 June 2014 - 07:12 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I'll prob. end up downloading it...I never did get it for the Wii but I agree that this is a game that should be downloaded. I just bought Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii today to play on my Wii U so I'd enjoy this, first though I have a few more games I want to buy.

#286628 Controllers Issues - Wii U Pro

Posted by WiiUCDN on 26 May 2014 - 06:36 AM in Wii U Hardware Help

Just go to some second party game store to buy one. That's what I'm doing in a weeks time, lots of people still trade in their old stuff for cash ! I know of two places around me that has them, if NOT there's always e-bay. Get one quick though before it's EVEN harder to get one !

#286713 Downloaded wii games on a Wii U, and how to play them?

Posted by WiiUCDN on 26 May 2014 - 05:54 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I went out and bought a Wiimote today and downloaded N64's Mario Kart with my download ticket on The Wii Shop Channel in Wii mode. I tried to get a Classic Controller Pro at a second hand gaming store but the two stores I went too didn't have any (which you need to play those games &. Nintendo stopped making them). I got a raw deal though, I bought two of them on e-bay for $24 !

#286767 Downloaded wii games on a Wii U, and how to play them?

Posted by WiiUCDN on 27 May 2014 - 06:16 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Im buying a classic pro controller someday. Hope they are available if not guess I'll get the wii u nun chuck.

Or buy a wii and use gamecube controller, that might be best.

You could also get a  GC Gamecube Game Controller Converter Adapter for Wii & Wii U Console for the Wiimote without having to buy a Wii. This would be cheaper too if you look for one on e-bay or online. Then you could use your Gamecube controller with your Wii U ! I thought about getting one yesterday, but decided to buy the actual controllers instead on e-bay !

thanks that worked.

One last question, I bought the wii u bundle with mario and luigi games, registered the wii u for 160 coins, can I register the games that came with it also for extra coins? or those version that came with console not possible?

No, you can't if they came with your Wii U, You'll get a welcome one for 10 too, after that you have to buy more games. The games you buy are fine as long as they are eligible for coins.

#286415 Can we petition nintendo to open up the DSi and Wii to unofficial servers?

Posted by WiiUCDN on 24 May 2014 - 10:33 AM in Wii U Hardware

Since they are no longer supporting the network capabilities of the two systems, the homebrew scene has stepped up to the task and have homebrew servers running that allow you to play ssbb, MKWii, Animal Crossi, etc. At this point Nintendo should just release an update allowing us to connect to any server without hacking.

Thoughts?

The server on the Wii U in Wii mode will still work . (-: . You can still access The Wii Shop Channel and on the Wii too. The Wii itself can be plugged into your modem using a Wii LAN Adapter to work as well but is better connected to an un-official server if you want to play online as it is the only way you can. In the Wii mode  or on the Wii you cannot however play online now .That's only a service Wii U provides with their wi-fi. The Wii's Server will still work for such things as Youtube, Netflix, and so on (Not in the WII U Wii app) just not for playing online PERIOD as far as Nintendo is concerned.

http://www.slashgear...erver-20329855/

You should be able to buy one on e-bay. (-: I had to update this after just getting off the phone with Nintendo.

#286419 Can we petition nintendo to open up the DSi and Wii to unofficial servers?

Posted by WiiUCDN on 24 May 2014 - 12:24 PM in Wii U Hardware

Public test server available at 75.127.5.215. This server is being actively developed, so it may go down or be restarted at times.

Be sure to delete your WFC profile or save file before connecting to the server or else it will give you an error when you connect. For DS, only Action Replay DS, flashcards and emulators can be used at this time. For Wii, your console must be able to run homebrew.

are you suggesting to nintendo to endorse homebrew

Aha, yea Nintendo will NEVER endorse Homebrew as it would defeat the purpose of the VC.
