The game is very solid and it does a great job at combining Halo with Borderlands but i still dont think it lives up to the hype.I'm also pretty burnt out on FPS games and really would like something NEW. The beta was pretty lackluster in it's content and although it's "only a beta" does not justify how boring the gameplay really was. It's the same thing we've got from Halo and Borderlands for years now and if you like that sort of thing then go for it (i like it somewat), i just expected something more new and fun when it came to quests and missions but you pretty much choose a mission, walk to an area (pretty liniear even though the areas are mostly open but it does not change anything) protect something or kill a big enemy and you're done.

Wont be buying it at launch. Good thing i tried the beta cause this was supposed to be the game to make me buy a PS4.

A friend and myself were playing some SMB3 two player yesterday when we got to the Tower level on World 5. You all probably know about a glitch were you can go through a wall and see a lone block in the sky. First of i found a different way to get there, not the usual route (go through the same wall but in a different spot). When we tried to recreate the glitch we somehow find another glitch/design flaw with the game.

When all levels were cleared on the ground level of World 5 and we both had gone from the sky to the ground, dying made it so that player would "respawn" on the tower itself. The problem now is that if either player tries to start the level a Mario Bros VS mode mini-game starts instead. Does not matter who wins, if you go to the pipes and let the time run out, you are stuck.

At first we thought this must have been common knowledge but I've Googled like Sherlock Holmes and i can't find any info about it. Are we one of the first ones to find this? Not that it matters but i still wanted to show this great Wii up that gets you and your friend stuck. You can get away if you have a flute though, but without it you have to restart the game.

 

Not sure, but from what i understand all Wii accessories are useable on Wii U.

Track editor would be the best thing ever.

But if that can't happen, I would like some tracks from past games. Like Ghost Valley

Things like this does not happen enough. Just imagine all fun the players could have and the longlivity of the game if something like this were to be created. 

Well i want a physical copy always so i'm going to buy each game i want that way. Exceptions are made for digial only titles or certain old NES, SNES or GBA games i dont own or plan to buy anytime soon.

Different routers and IP's just makes it so some people have trouble. I myself have had lots of trouble getting online with my Wii U. The weird part being that i can chat, check the web-browser, download games, but i can't play with people online cause theni disconnect...

If you were one of those people that had problems with the multiplayer then perhaps this will help you. I found out that these ports can/should be portforwarded when you play Nintendo games on your internet and it fixed the multiplayer connection issues i've been having with Mario Kart 8.

Since when do sequels not count as new games? Heck since do sequels not count as new gameplay experiences? Nintendo isn't activision and their sequels aren't CoD sequels they've said the reason they haven't made an F-Zero sequel is because they can't think of a way to make the gameplay new and different. Also by that logic,Skyward Sword should practically be the same as the very first Zelda game, since it's "just" a sequel.

 

 

Lots of people bought it. Lots of people loved it. therefore, lots of people wanted it. I'm not saying they wanted it above an "actual" 3D mario game, I'm just saying people want Mario games in general.

I'm just talking about many sequels in general. The titels made from Nintendo have the same core but are very different each time. Bayonetta among others is not made BY Nintendo though so the sequel magic is not the same. I'd want Bayonetta to be good, and i think it will. But it probably wont be that different compared to the original, aka not much of a "new game".

Just cause it's underpowered does not mean it's a bad buy. I think that goes more for computers, but for consoles it's totally different cause there are different games, different online services etc.

I bought a Wii U for the exclusives and in hopes that some great Third-party games would come. Seems like i wont be disappointed

If you are not satisfied with the system then do not buy it.

When you said Nintendo "have not been putting out many good games for their console", I thought you meant, like, 1 or 2 games they've release for the Wii U were good. 5-8 is "many" to me, so we just had different definitions. I just don't see why 5-8 very enjoyable games aren't enough for one and a half years...

3. I'm sorry... Why? It sounded like you disliked most of the Wii U's library, so I found it odd that you would want to be a part of a Wii U fan site. I see now that I misunderstood, and you actually do enjoy a good number of Wii U games. Sorry about that.

 

4. Just another case of bad wording. You said that "much of what he is saying is the truth". That and "I was siding with him on that one thing" contradict each other completely, so I think much of this disagreement is more of a misunderstanding. To avoid people taking what you say the wrong way in the future, I'd suggest you make sure you only post what you most definitely, literally mean. Otherwise, people will argue and bash you for something you didn't even say.

1. Well it depends on how you take it and i can agree that what i typed was a bit weird, but i still think that most of the games for Wii U are really nothing special even though i like quite a few. Zombi U is pretty much my favorite cause it really does something fun and new with the Wii U Gamepad. Mario 3D world is one of my favorite Mario games ever, but it does not do anything cool of special for the system. 

2. Stating an opinion (which you can understand right now when it comes to me) is just fine. I've typed this here in the thread myself. There really is no need to explain why either. If you dont like anything, that's it. There is nothing more to it. Best way would be to ASK WHY i did not like most of the Wii U game were out. That would have been a totally different story and i perhaps would have told you guys.

3. Why would you have to love everything about a system or anything to be part of a fan site? I'm very active in the Thundercats community (an old 80's cartoon) and i probably dislike more things about the show than i like, but those few things i like is enough for me to stay and be active there, same goes for the Wii U. Zombi U is in my opinion a very terrible game, bugs and weird game play choices that ruin it, but the reason i like it (again) is the usage of the gamepad. I think it's so unique and fun that i can look past it's flaws.

My first post was just badly written. I dont fully agree with what Pachter was saying and it's probably here the confusion began.

This is the sentence pretty much right? I was referring to his comments about them using the same franchises over and over.and i think that is a good and bad thing for Nintendo. People want to see new stuff, which they get but in another Mario or Zelda game. We play these games over and over, and for us that play them we know many of them are very different in how they are played (even though the core is the same) but for many others outside it feels like they do the same thing over and over which i also think is a problem. It's not really good that potential consumers think Nintendo does something new, so instead of doing this new super cool game and put Zelda on the cover, why not try something different with Zelda and try to make a new IP which can drag new players in, Zelda will sell anyway.

But i now understand that you were not so much hating on me cause i dont like all Wii U games but that fact that i sounded like i was with Pach the whole way and think's he is right. No i dont think he is. The only thing i can agree upon is Nintendo using the same old franchises over and over, but it's most of the time not a bad thing, considering most of the Mario platformers and Zelda titles are godlike.

Also WiiU is not weak it's a very capable system with a console architecture not a PC one like PS4/XBO which are very inefficient. WiiU is very custom and very effient. Want to see a taste of the what that thing can do look around the forum for Art of Balance pics.

 

Iwata had 3 straight success stories in DS,Wii and 3DS. WiiU struggles but the company still rich as can be.Iwata has been at NIntendo since early Hal days and has helped that company more than you could know. I mean damn he stepped up to the plate when things got rough and took massive pay cuts,NEVER and I mean NEVER does that happen with a US CEO a US CEO would give himself a pay bonus. Iwata does not deserve a second chance but 8 more chances. Without Iwata Nintendo would be Atari 1994,SNK 1999 and Sega 2001.

Developers have said multiple times that it's harder to port and to games on Wii U cause it's architecture is so different and making it for PS4/One is easier cause it's more built like a PC, making ports between the three systems easier. Not sure where you got your info from, and yes the Wii U is weak compared to the competition. That's a fact if you look through the specifications.

And here is the fun part, even though they might be new to the Nintendo system does not mean they are new games. Most of what you posted on the list are sequels of some kind, if not everyone. Bayonetta may be awesome but not a "new game" by any means when it comes to it's gameplay, and same goes for most games on the list. 

I think people want more innovative games and good usage of the pad. IMO Zombi U was the most interesting in that aspect, sucks the game overall sucked balls instead but the PAD was used in a good way.

It doesnt fly very well here, particularly when every single response to you was calling out your lack of accountability for the opinion you were stating.

When the very first responses to you are about your lack of reason on said subject, attempting to make the arguement you didnt want to 'state your reasons because the scenario that happened because you didnt state reasons' would have happened... Isnt very beleivable.

In this situation, with events that have transpired the way they have... Its far more likely you dont have any reasons, beyond ignorance, self fulfilling prophecies, anger at being 'rejected', and a desire to prove your opening statement 'right' regaurdless of what you throw under the bus to get there.

Within the group i play and discuss games in real life, most of them did not like the Minish cap for various reasons. I for one thinks it's a very good game not only in gameplay but in looks and music as well. I liked the fact that Link became super small and did different fun things with it.

I know ive only said it five or six times, and it will take another twenty before you start adjusting your strawmen to what was actually said and not the imaginary narrative in your head.

But the problem we have with your opinions isnt what they are, but the fact they are completely undounded, and unsubstantiated by you. Without a REASON why, the only thing you are doing is crapping on great games you dont know anything about, in order to poorly substantiate an opinion you made earlier.

I cant STAND the fact the wii u is flooded with 2d platformers, or games with similar mechanics to 2d platformers. I am saturated beyond my tolerance point for them, and completely starving on other genres I enjoy much better.

Even then I am not so crass as to call those games I dont want 'Bad'. I explain why I dont like them, what I want, what they dont give me, and I of course, recognize them for being outstanding entries in their genre. But they are not what I want.

Well, thats proabably a side effect of you throwing in with the biggest, most notorious, most provably factually wrong, most not good anti Nintendo stchick on the internet. I mean, the guy you are siding with began complaining about how stupid nintendo were for having a smash brothers tournament because he thought the tournament was for the wii game smash brothers brawl, and not for the new system wii u. When he was corrected, when he found at that what he was complaining about was in fact, not true, that the thing he said SHOULD be happening, in fact, WAS happening he then, immediately, without hesitating moved the goal posts and changed to how stupid nintendo was for having a tournament for a new wii u game. This is just one example of the absurdity you have thrown in with.


Anyways, you can absolutely dislike the games. Doesnt the change the fact that your goal post moving, agreement with well known goal post moving vegeta, and unsupported dismissal of (many games you probably dont even know what they are) a vast list of widely different games, including some of the best ever made, is going to give people their OWN opinions, on YOUR opinions. This is the most not good conversation i've ever had. The only thing I've got out of this is: "You don't like every Wii U game, therefor you are stupid", and i got that for saying i dont like all Wii U games and that it's only my opinion (even though i probably share it with others, you can't like every game.).
