Well hi folks. I joined this forum/community the minute is started watching Frag play some Mario kart 8 on his Twitch channel and since I've always wanted to be on a Wii U Forum i decided to stop being a lurker, make an account and get posting started.

I live in Sweden and i got my Wii U last year with the Mario 3D World release and i'm very pleased with the console. Even though there has not been much games on it i really want to buy i'm still happy with what i got (Even Zombi U which most people seem to hate).

Planning on getting some friends so we can play Mario Kart 8. So who ever wants a young Swedish male with blonde hair and blue eyes on his/her friend list may put their friend code here or in a private message.

 

Is there a stat difference between characters or are all equally good?

Only mandatory if you wanna do alright in multiplayer.

Well that's true.

Feels kinda dumt to just play multiplayer in a game like this and not wanting to do good. Granted i just want to have fun racing but it's most fun if you compete with friends. 

That's my opinion, others may disagree.

what would be the prerequisites for getting your free game?  or do you have someone in real life to give it too?

they are set into groups as far as weight which affects top speed, acceleration, handling and getting knocked about, plus the karts you can select from have different attributes.

 

The characters stats are 'common sense' to a degree and arent listed, while the kart stats are accessible and you can switch between karts checking the pros and cons of each one.

i wouldnt call that a glitch, nothing is stopping you from track hopping, i do it a lot (got me 19th on the leader boards for time trials) a glitch is where you get warped to a 100% different location like in mario kart 7 for the mountain track i dont remember the name of

Watch the whole clip before you comment. After jumping down he gets stuck and can't move at all. The character even glitches around a little bit.

I dont think it was that bad. Much of what he is saying is the truth though. NIntendo are far from the same company, they have not been putting out many good games for their console, and it's usually the same franchises over and over like when he mentioned all the characters. Nintendo uses the same characters all the time but...

With all that said, i dont really mind it. What non Nintendo fans dont realize is that each new entry most of the time does something new. Just look at the Mario platform series and you will know what i'm talking about. Even the new Donkey Kong games and New Mario lineup still does something new with the 2D Platforming games, doing something the older games did not, and that can be said with almost every entery. The only one from the top of my mind is the new Yoshi game that i really did not think was anything special and New Super Mario Bros 2 for 3DS when you collect coins, that idea was not that great IMO.

Half of those were not even Wii U titles, and if you count how other games are the same franchises compared to those... Point still stands.

Damn you are a funny dude. It's just MY opinion. It's nothing wrong if you guys like all the games that's out for the Wii U. That's just good and makes it a super great purchase for you.

Hi everyone I've been playing lots of MK8 Single-Player and would like my next step to be multiplayer. I've got my PC very close to the computer which has a Teamspeak server which could be used to get some Mario Kart matches going

One would just connect to that server, jump into a Mario Kart channel, talk and have fun with other players and just play and have fun Of course you don't need to use it. I'm first and foremost looking for players to get to know and play with. 

Perhaps this might just end up being a "post your name and i'll add" thread, which it is to a certain extent but i also offer the Teamspeak server to those who would like to talk, scream and laugh with other people online as well

I think Nintendo games look the best when they are in brighter colors. A dark Zelda is not bad but i really hate games that are just grey, white, and black. You can still have a dark Zelda story and the game is full of color, just look at Disney.

In my opinion many of those are not good games so my point still stands. Remember the "In my opinion" part. If you are happy with what's available then i'm happy.

Wheter a game is good or bad is never a fact. Some of those games i just dont like cause of how they are played and i probably like games that you dont like to play either. People have different opinions which you don't seem to realize. Just suck it up and move on.

That tends to happen when you make/throw in with stupid massive sweeping generalizations like 'Nintendo doesnt even make anything but mario and zelda anymore'. Recent games from the past couple years,including the wii, are more than fair game. If you leave the floodgates open, you are going to get flooded.

Also, just because you have an opinion doesnt mean you cant be wrong. If you have a crappy opinion, you cant support, its going to get called out by people who think its crap. See, an opinion may not be about being right or wrong (though it certainly can be), but it is most certainly about being weak or strong, of which you have made a series of increasingly weak, unsupportable opinions, and are being called out on them.
