I think a true hardcore game attracts not only fans of a franchise, but fans of a genre. Mario is "hardcore" because it is a top-tier platformer.I don't think you really know what a hardcore game is. A Hardcore game is a game that attracts the true fans of a franchise. If there is a very large following of a game it is Hardcore. Mario games are what considered is (should) Hardcore.

I'm not talking about giving Mario an AK, but more classic Nintendo franchises could benefit from taking a Twilight Princess-like turn. The Metroid prime series for example I believe was a step in the right direction.I don't know about you guys, but there's no way in Arlen that I would like to see a Gritty, and "mature" Mario title. Let's face it, after the Wii lost "hardcore" gamers' "respect" everyone forgot what Nintendo used to do. Even when talking to an older gamer, who considers himself casual, he could only call Nintendo "kiddy" and said they haven't made anything but remakes and will never gain third party support because Nintendo make's it too hard for third parties to develop on the consoles. He continued to argue this even after I laid it out that the Big N is trying to rectify their past by reeling in third parties and is doing a good job at it.
And there's really no good way to make a platformer more mature...

Ah! I was just thinking about that series the other day! I'll have to go find the first 3 as well. There on a book shelve somewhere...One series of books I really like is the Inheritance Cycle. I'd forgotten about them until today, when I saw that the fourth one finally has a release date: 8 November 2011. I'll have to re-read the first three before then, to refresh my memory. It's about time this book was published; the last one was in 2008. I'm hoping it'll be worth the wait though.

There could be more races based on the bounty hunters from MPH. Each of them could have a home world, unique abilities, etc.Cool but i think you should get a wider range of characters and you start off fighting baby metroids then get all the way to Omega metroids.

Final Smash 1:Wario man is back from Brawl. This time with even more unexpected minor changes to wario's moveset.
Final Smash 2: Atomic fart. Way bigger then even the most charged up wario waft, the atomic fart is a massive methane mushroom cloud that sends enemies flying. Any enemy that isn't KO'd by the blast is dazed for 5 seconds from the awful stench.
Final Smash 3: Backed-up Wario. Wario grows into a giagantic ball and can roll around the stage. Wario can be turned slowly and the ball takes a while to accelerate, but anybody it touches gets launched. Wario lets out tiny farts and slowly shrinks back to normal size. The smaller he gets from expelling gas, the faster he moves, but the less damage he does on contact.

Agreed. A subtle 3D effect would really benefit a classic side scroller Metroid.I think they would release a classic metroid for 3ds, not wii u

I know.I think he was referring to Olimar as Pikmin there, which is worse than calling Samus "Metroid or Mario (Jumpman) Donkey Kong.

Whoa, that's actually a really sweet idea. A MMO that's a universe filled with bounty hunters. With your own ship and unique armor it would be pretty damn awesome. All these suggestions of a Mario MMO, or a Pokemon MMO... Those are all great ideas.
But there's one franchise where the MMO market will really draw in the 'Hardcore' crowd...
A Metroid MMO.
Think about it for a second. You play as either a Bounty Hunter or a Space Pirate. You could change your equipment, getting different types of blasters, armor and a whole assortment of metoid-style things. Either the Space-Pirate homeworld, or the <Insert Place that I forget the name of here> could be a homeworld where everyone gathers, to form parties, trade and have an apartment or whatever, while other planets (Tallon IV, Aether, ect.) could be Dungeons, some randomized, some not. Then you could have Duels, SP vs. BH fights, training...
Would be the best MMO ever.

Although that sounds like an excuse in the form of a rumor, I hope it's true. If there is a reliable source for this I'd like to see it...Not sure too much about the source, because I probably read it on NeoGaf, and threads there can die and be sent back about 5 pages in a day. But apparently it was confirmed the first dev kits used underclocked hardware, I don't know why, but perhaps it was easier for ports? It has been comfirmed that they've now sent out more powerful dev kits.

I never really liked the time constrictions of the first game. Although in retrospect it did add to the challenge and possibly even enjoyment of the game.I played pikmin 1 after seeing it on luigi's mansion and i loved it. Just the idead of making an endless amount of pikmin to fight for you and collecting ship parts is cool but emporer bulblax had me running back and forth back to get more pikmin. At first I liked the idea of no time limit in Pikmin 2 but i always felt like there was no worries at all even if you get an extinction you can still gather more pikmin as long as you want which to me took the fun out of the game.
Pikmin 1- Race against time to find your ship parts, will you escape alive?
Pikmin 2- Gather treasure with all the time in the world, mabye we should nap.
It was still fun but i think in a game you have to worry about dieing to have fun otherwise it's like having infinite heatlh.

True, they'd have to come up with a whole new main villain if they're going to create another subspace emissary type thing. Although the original was a pretty mediocre experience. The Ancient Minister was never evil, he was ROB.

I would agree that the single most expensive feature of the controller is likely to be the touch-screen, but another major expense will be the processing power needed to compress the signal and stream it to the wireless unit.
That is why I am so curious about the HDMI socket in the bottom of the controller, can extra screens be hooked up to the base unit by cable? That socket must have a purpose, what is an HDMI socket for if not transmitting High def images and sound?
I thought most devices these days use an HDMI port to upload the image to a bigger screen like a TV. But the wiiU does that wirelessly, so who knows what it's for.
I hope it has a recharge socket. That controller is going to lose charge pretty fast compared to other controllers.yea i have heard people talking about that, but havent find the source, where is it?
and doesnt the controller have a socket for recharging the batteries like you do with the ps3 controller?

My roommate hates them. And the worst part is that all of his friends he plays with back home insist on having final smashes on every round.am I the only one here who doesn't like final smashes?
That's actually a really cool idea. That way you could activate 1 of 4 possible final smashes bases on the direction you choose. There could be 4 Final Smashes, one for each Special Move, for example.
Ganondorf
Neutral: Dark Wave (The move he uses in OoT, like Mario's Final Smash.)
Side: Ganon Charge (The Final Smash is Brawl.)
Up: ??? (couldn't think of one.)
Down: Transform (Ganondorf turns into the Ganon from OoT.
