Usually catch it on G4 but I might switch it up and watch it on Spike this year to see how they cover it.

The new one most def. the old one was ok, but I feel analogs are just better for console gaming. Sliders work on the 3DS though.

Well let's look at it this way. This gen, how many times did you have 4+ ppl over playing your Wii? I had it happen maybe a handful of times since 2006. Most of the time it was 2 player co-op or online play. The days of local multiplayer is dead, and online killed it. 2 WiiPad's is enough.

Exactly, I agree. The crowd that Nintendo wants to attract with this console mainly care about online multiplayer.

Analog sticks are a huge plus for me, I wish we could get triggers similar to the 360 ones, that would make this controller complete for me.

All this news today seems almost overwhelming considering the complete lack of news the past couple of months. I'm glad we're getting it though, these little tidbits of info make me that much more excited for E3.

I think 2 Upads is good enough considering that these controllers are draining power from the console. Online multiplayer is where it's at these days anyway.

I actually played with this kind of idea before, talking to my brother lol I think it can be an excellent game if done right.

This Aliens game looks a little more interesting after seeing more gameplay. I'm not surprised to hear his comments on the power, Gearbox and other known devs have said similar things. His comments on the Wii U's online are what really intrigue me, I can't wait to hear more about the Nintendo Network.

We have Grand Theft Auto for that kind of stuff.

Now let's just hope we get the next GTA on the WiiU

I'm definitely excited to see the improvements from the first dev kit. I just wonder how significant the difference is. The Zelda demo and that bird demo both looked good to me already so I'll probably be impressed either way

That looks ridiculously good. I don't know if next gen consoles will look that good because I don't see either of the three consoles investing heavily into the hardware because of the direction the industry is going in.

I used the second Wii U menu concept I did as a base and made a "simple menu" system for it... I think.

Maybe a bit PS3ish on the start menu, but when you move your Wiimote cursor over the text, it goes gray, press it and it illuminates and out pop the different submenu items. They'd hover in the air and the background text blurs out. If you'd press a submenu text and hold the button, you could theoratically move the text around and the other submenu items would move in "spherical motion" with it. Think about a simplified Minority Report...

So lets just roll with it... Minority Report goes into custom folder system with movable folders and then into media player


1. Here we have the "simplified Minority Report". Imagine you're using the Wiimote here and you hold A over "Internet Settings" and move your arm around. The rest of the settings submenus roll around in a spherical motion, you push the Wiimote towards the screen and "Internet Settings" goes deeper into the screen while for example "Audio settings" comes closer. If you'd move "Privacy settings" up into the left top corner, "Controller settings" would move down into the right hand corner. Just a fun little thing to mess around with.



2. Now we're going to play some music. (I added the "Pictures" menu at this stage, just to point that out.)



Here we have a folder view, you can see a button up top that could switch it into list view or even icon view, I dunno... You could arrange your folders any way you'd want. Lets listen to some metal...



Here we have some artists. Some folders have been customized, others have not. I want to listen to Mastodon now.




They've released five albums, here I arranged the albums in line and in order. Every album has its cover added to the folder. Lets go to listen to... The Hunter.



So here we have a little media player with track listing and a little info about the album. I paused it, so I wouldn't scare ya with the loud music, since I've got the volume turned all the way up

Wow ! those music menus are crazy good, especially the last one.

I don't know how legit IdeaMan is, but from browsing neogaf they seem to take him seriously so whatever. I personally feel the Wii U needs a redesign because it just doesn't look that exciting coming after the Wii. They need to do something to separate it from the Wii.

Then again who am i kidding, if they wanted to do that they wouldn't have named the console 'Wii' U lol

Man Ubisoft ain't jokin with the support for the Wii U ! Now we just need some of the other big 3rd parties to get (and stay) on board.

As for the Avengers game, loved the movie, I'll probably get the game depending on how it looks.

I loved it, but I was still upset how it didn't have Ant-Man and Wasp. What other Superhero movies are you looking forward to?


I'm looking forward to Superman Man of Steel hopefully Zack Snyder does a good job.

I agree, I'm not to fond of the idea of replacing original characters in a comic movie.

As far as the movies i'm looking forward too, I want to see how they start off this new Spider-Man series of movies as well as the conclusion to the Dark Knight saga. I'm a big Iron Man fan (obvious lol) so I can't wait for Iron Man 3.

I also hope they finally get a Superman right, they say Man of Steel is suposed to have a darker tone so we will see how it goes.

Didn't see a thread for it, so lets spark up a convo for the greatest comic book film adaptation imo. What did you guys think about the movie ? I loved it ! I was extremely hyped for the movie and the movie still exceeded my expectations.

Obviously there will be a sequel, I can't wait to see the 2nd one already !

Microsoft has ditched the Hardcore gamers they are all about Kinect so the Hardcores are up for grabs. Nintendo will gain back the Hardcore Nintendo fans that left them for the 360/PS3 seeing as Wii U is an amazing beast of a system. They will be welcomed back home to the best of the best "Nintendo" As for the other Hardcores....(COD, and other shooters) I see no reason why Nintendo would fail at getting them. However in my personal opinion I dont want any of those arrogant baboons from COD and such in the Nintendo community. The Nintendo community is filled with polite and kind people who care about having fun. So Nintendo doesnt need to add the whinny punk kids and trash talkers from shooters.

A game that's property is owned by a first party, but when they have a 3rd party make it. That's a 2nd party game.

Wii Launch was only white consoles...

I know, that's why I said they need to switch it up and launch with different colors.

I would like to see different color consoles and tablets. I would like to see them launch the Wii U in another color instead of white, they did that with the Wii, it'd be cool to switch it up a bit.

At launch didnt the Xbox 360 only come in one color too? The Xbox 360 is what they call "Hardcore" and is mainly white.

It didn't matter what color the 360 was because there last console (OG Xbox) didn't have a stigma for being a 'casual' console. At the end of the day the color obviously won't determine what kind of console it is or how good it is, but it's a marketing thing, and Nintendo has been saying things about how this console is supposed to be for "hardcore" gamers.

Of course the color wouldn't make a difference for most of you people posting in this thread, most of us are getting the Wii U regardless. Little things such as color do help in the grand scheme of things, specifically when your trying to market the console to a certain group of people.

It's not necessarily that black = hardcore, but just the fact that the Wii was considered a 'happy' 'kiddy' 'casual' console and it happened to be white, a pure color. If they did the exact opposite and made this one black, it would just further push the Wii U in a different direction which is what Nintendo seems to be wanting to do anyway.

Basically, you would have to understand the nuances of marketing and business to understand why the color of your product would matter.

Next gen graphics IMO is defined as graphics current gen are not capable of producing. Even if you tried and modified a game engine its impossible to create what Wii U will show on a PS360

Exactly, I'm pretty sure we will see a lot of stuff at E3 that shows that the Wii U is next gen. I wishe something would leak showing us this but whatever lol
